Bills: Marshawn Lynch Conference Call - 9/19/2007

Buffalo Bills running back Marshawn Lynch addresses the New England media during his conference call on September 19, 2007. Q: Let me ask you about your future, because so far your present has been pretty good, as far as you working in as a rookie. How much more do you have to go, in terms of feeling 100 percent comfortable with the offense? ML: I feel that comfort level comes with just repetition and with practice every day, so with the right amount of practice and film study I'll be there in no time. Q: You were the second running back taken. You replaced Willis McGahee and they've had good running backs at Buffalo. What did they say your role was going to be this year? Did they say you were going to step right in and get some heavy work? ML: That was the overall point, but mainly it was just about getting (me) in there in situations where I would feel the most comfortable for us running the offense. I felt I had a pretty good chance and I came along, so therefore I'm able to do a lot of the things that they ask of me - blocking, running and catching the ball. Q: Down the road, could you be the type of running back who could carry the ball a heavy load and dictate what the offense does? ML: Yeah, I feel I am taking that role, but there's other great running backs that we have - Anthony Thomas and Dwyane Wright -- so it'll be good for me, but we have a lot of other talent in the backfield that will be helping me out. That's always good. Q: Looking ahead to Sunday, you're playing a defense that has been as good as any in the league. How do you prepare for that and how do you feel going against it? ML: It's going to be tough, but basically I'll prepare for it and get my (mentality) right, look over the defense and find out what kind of a defense they run. For the most part, I put it all on me and my preparation for the game. That's how I get ready. Q: Looking at film, what do you think the Patriots did particularly well against LaDainian Tomlinson l...
