Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron addresses the New England media during his conference call on November 14, 2007. Q: Is part of preparing for this game convincing your players that the Patriots can be beaten? DJ: I suspect that’s probably true and it’s probably true of everybody that’s played them since to date, nobody has beaten them this year. Record-wise they’re the best in the league and they certainly show it on the field in how they play all their games. We know each other very well, both the teams -- clearly we are in the same division. We played them once already this year and they beat us badly in New England, so we’ve just got to prepare the best we can and play the best we can and let it go. Q: Does that familiarity maybe take some of the edge off? Maybe help your players to believe that [beating the Patriots] can be done? DJ: I think it is a little bit better when you really do know a team and you know their personnel, you see them twice a year. Of course the Patriots have been a focal point of this division for a long time. They just have ruled it and my hat is off to them. They’ve done a terrific job in the organization getting the talent there and then they do a terrific job of coaching it and preparing them week-to-week, and then those guys play. But I think it is better if you play them twice a year [because] we know them, but it doesn’t make the task any easier. And the fact that they really have just played that one game against Indianapolis that was close; the rest of the time they’ve just been out-classing everybody all year. Q: Is potentially being the first team to beat them this year added motivation? Do you use that? DJ: No, no we haven’t to this point because the game itself is big enough anyway. Where we are, we’re just struggling every week to fight to keep our head above water. And then we have this huge challenge in front of us with the Patriots, that’s ple...

Buffalo Bills quarterback J.P. Losman addresses the New England media during his conference call on November 14, 2007. Q: I would just want to start by asking you on the first meeting between the two teams and now that you’ve had some time to look at it, how did you view the hit that knocked you out? JL: You know what guys? I don’t know. This is football. It’s a rough game. It’s a violent sport. Nobody wishes for those things to happen so kind of how I look at it and view it is it’s a rough game and those kinds of things happen. Q: I know Vince Wilfork said that he was trying to reach out to you through some teammates that he knew up there. Did he ever connect with you? JL: No. I know he didn’t mean it. It’s a tough situation. I knew some people were giving him a hard time about it, but there are no hard feelings. Like I said, it’s a rough game. Q: I’m sorry, you said there were no hard feelings? JL: Yeah, there are no hard feelings or anything like that. I understand that’s not something that he was trying to do or anything like that. Q: Is that a change on your line of thinking because I know, and I could be wrong, I thought you said the penalty was maybe a little lenient for your liking. JL: I think you’re going back a little too far. I really don’t even know, but as far as something being lenient in the way it was handled, if someone felt it was dirty and you were going to fine them, then I think the fine was lenient. But if you didn’t, then I think there’s no point in fining him if you don’t think it was that bad of a thing. That’s all I was trying to say. Q: Sorry to keep rehashing, but did you think it was dirty at the time? JL: No, I did not. I didn’t care if it was or not. Same answer, basically. Q: Did sitting out in any way help you? I know you want to be out there every week, but sometimes when guys sit either by a coach’s deci...
