Bill Belichick Press Conference - 10/1/2007

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his postgame press conference at Paul Brown Stadium following the Patriots game against the Cincinnati Bengals on October 1, 2007. BB: This was a good win for our football team tonight. I thought the players really did a good job all the way around. It wasn't perfect and certainly Cincinnati gave us some problems, especially throwing the ball and their pass rush and some of the change ups that they threw at us. I thought that our guys really responded well. We made some plays. We ran it, threw it, were able to stop the run competitively, got some turnovers on defense. We finally held somebody to some field goals. We got a little bit of field position in the kicking game, but it was a tough game, a hard fought game. I thought Cincinnati played hard, played with a lot of energy. I know they have some guys banged up, but they're a tough football team. I'm just proud of the way our guys played. We made a few more plays than they did. We had some guys step up. I thought the last drive, obviously, was a big one, to be able to take it the length of the field and kind of seal the game. The reverse was a big play. That was a big play on that drive. We had a lot of big plays in the game, but I thought overall our level of play, the players really stepped up, they played hard, Monday night, there was a lot of energy out there and they played with it. We had a few mistakes, but not too many. A short week this week for Cleveland. We know they can score a lot of points. They're playing well. They had a couple of big wins here, so we're going to have to put this one behind us in a hurry, but enjoy it for a little while and then put it behind us and get on to the Browns. Q: Is this what you expected when you brought Sammy Morris in here? BB: Sammy is a good player. He does a lot of things well. He can run. He can play in the passing game. He can play on fourth down. He's been a good player for us. He did...
