Patriots Director of Player Personnel Nick Caserio addresses the media during his press conference at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, August 6, 2009. NC: How is everybody doing? Good. Fire away. Q: What has been the hold up on getting Vince Wilfork a long-term extension? NC: You know, I think that is something every year we talk about at different points. We go back and forth with the agents; we have discussions internally and externally. I think we are still working through some things. Whenever we get to a resolution, I am sure, hopefully we will get to that point but we are working every day. There are constantly discussions. Q: How much does legal labor uncertainty play a roll in not wanting to give Vince Wilfork a long term contract? NC: I think there's a lot of hypothetical. You sort of have to have a contingency plan in place. Will there be a new CBA [Collective Bargaining Agreement]? When will that get resolved? There is a lot of uncertainty so it's hard but you try to plan for: "OK,...
