Washington Redskins offensive lineman Pete Kendall addresses the New England media during his conference call on October 24, 2007. Q: So I guess you just can’t get away from the Patriots even though you’re out of the division. PK: I guess not. Q: What does this Patriots team look like compared to the ones that you’ve been used to seeing with the Jets over the past couple of years? PK: Well, defensively, they look pretty similar. They’re playing very well, which I’m used to seeing on film. Gee, they’re having some time scoring points - certainly scoring as many points as their offense has been has proven impossible at this point, right? Q: How has the transition been to Washington? PK: I couldn’t have asked for things to go any better than they have. I was able to find a place to live within a week of the trade. My family moved down, my kids are enrolled in school. It’s been great for me from a personal standpoint, and just the fact that we’ve able to win a few games here and play decent football has been good as well. Q: So no more commuting? Everybody is all together? PK: I finally get to be a full-time father and football player at the same time. It’s been awhile. Q: Were you disappointed with the way it ended in New York? I know you sort of had a hand in getting yourself out of there, but that got kind of messy. PK: Yeah, it was not how I’ll choose to look back on my time there. Certainly I won’t dwell on how it ended. I was a little surprised that the ball got rolling the way that it did, but once it got rolling I think ultimately it was going to end similarly to the way that it did. Q: Do you take any satisfaction in the fact that you’re 4-2 and they’re 1-6? PK: I just enjoy being 4-2 at this point. The fact that the Jets are 1-6 doesn’t do anything for me. I still feel close to a lot of guys in that locker room and I wish them well every week. Q:...

New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini addresses the New England media during his conference call on Wednesday, September 5, 2007. Q: How do you view going into the opening game of your second season? EM: Any time you open up, you've got to look at the unexpected. You've got to expect the unexpected and that's something we've talked a lot about. It was the same situation going into Tennessee last year, where there's been the whole offseason and the teams have had new acquisitions. They've had a lot of time to study things that maybe they like in the league, things that they liked internally but maybe weren't able to get to and with New England is it's such a game-plan specific team that you're going to get something unique to you. Q: Does it make preparing for the season easier having a year to look back on? EM: It's been great for me to be able to go back and review the notes throughout the season last year and be able to experience those things and critically analyze the decisions that were made, both personally and organizationally, then look at it and plan ahead and see where we want to make adjustments. There's been a lot of that over the course of the offseason and leading up into the regular season. Q: Thomas Jones was obviously a big acquisition for you and will be a big part of your offense this season. However, he missed the preseason. Do you feel he's ready for the season having not seen much of him? EM: The one thing that Thomas has been consistent with is that there's not a lot of missed playing time. He's a very tough person and something that we liked, talking to people prior to making the trade, is his work ethic, the same in the weight room as he does on the field and, in this case, with his rehab. So that's what he's doing working at, his rehab, and we'll have to see how it goes later in the week. Q: You have two very talented receivers in Laveranues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery that did a whole lot of things for you last year. What do ...
