And some of the points stuff in between. I'm patriots playbook and."

Play from 0:41[0:41]" Welcome inside the -- Wednesday. I was -- kids genre but you're you're on patriots playbook -- dark -- you come. We got some fun stuff today there's going to be some good stuff I. I didn't realize that nobody wanted to really talk about the Cincinnati Bengals today and I think. Theory is probably some truth what I would just talked about with. Common in Indian on the fact that you know there's going to be a certain amount of complacency set in round here and probably around where you are Baker's continued to beat the crap out of people. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't keep an interest -- your team I mean let's face it if it if things are going well here. Then this team is probably on its way to doing something that very few teams ever get a chance to do. First of all the ultimate would be you know winning four Super -- in seven years. The second thing -- is of course what we've all already talked about maybe ad nauseam and that you know everybody around here wants to you know. Shoot darts in you when you mention you know 16 know or 19 an. That obviously has got to be you know the carrot on the stick at the end of the line here that this team competed try to work itself toward week in and week out."

Play from 1:53[1:53]" try to put blinders on. You try to go week to week. You try to focus on the task at hand the task at hand and and the guys -- at their practicing right now as I speak walk right by the practice field and watch for a couple of moments before you know you is very getting evil lies in the it's like okay -- to move on here but there already preparing for the bank even though the game is until next Monday. And you know the -- Doing their jobs. And as followers in and in those who cover the team here it's time for us to kind of take a look at that in also hasn't fought all the same lines an NC we can't them. Well as I suggested earlier -- we did little nit picking on Tuesday yesterday and will probably continue to try to turn Tuesday's intended to Tuesday just a bit. To give you a chance events or ask questions about part of the team or -- of the team that you're just not quite. Croshere whip for black but for a on and of course won't take those questions for me whenever you have them mom. Formulate in your minds. And you can always in the emails right here to the program web radio at patriots dot com. And the phone lines are open as well 585437482. After they show is going to be special because we've got someone coming under the program who you know calm my guess is it's important out of your longtime football fan you might have even seen play this game he plated at a pretty high level he is one of the more popular personalities on the ESPN. Television network in the one only jaws Ron Jaworski will be joining us in approximately 2025 minutes from one stay tuned for that. That's right jaws himself Ron Jaworski in an -- 3 O'Clock hour today. Jeff hobson who covers the angles or bagels dot com you'll Jonas and see if you know the -- to getting any run in the queen city. In Cincinnati, Ohio thus far. I and will try to get inside of angles for a bit toward the of the into the 3 O'Clock hour -- pops and so. That's -- of coming up on the program for today yeah oh yeah a pretty good that right. It may sound funny to hear from you web radio at patriots dot com I have. Some clean up business from yesterday does that happen right as I was walking out the door the studio here July. Yesterday and Gary got an email. From the one an only Craig in South Carolina. And Craig I am you know I hope that you're not offended. But I'm going to read the email NichtCall cars he did call you duty did you guys make nice and kiss."

Play from 4:30[4:30]" Most which tell me as you blew him up. Okay the example of anyway he said he's an anime is there at the end of the show he said that you guys apparently had enough of me see. -- what we you know I did I don't know what we would do without you quite frankly we always needs somebody to stir the drink on the programs here. And you do that there is no doubt in my mind that you -- dedicated fan of the New England Patriots last would you -- a good portion of your day. To whatever it is that you do it makes you that you include you know patriots dot com radio. --"

Play from 5:02[5:02]" Rohan Davey is like we're against statue."

Play from 5:05[5:05]" Yes he he was and that's why he's no longer here. You very astute judgment -- various to judgment sometimes you might be you know. I don't know what a good way to say this would be sometimes you might be I naive isn't isn't the proper word here may be innocent. And and I may be just because of the tenor of the Tony your voice but I actually think you've got a pretty good football knowledge your emails are usually insightful he puts together some some good information. And I always enjoy hearing from me as I do from all of our email -- You know and in all the of those of you who decide to call and in want to talk a little football I think it's great it's actually great. This is what the programs a -- so you know we have a little fun at your expense I hope that you're not. Really know taking it personally I mean I'm I might my hope is is that you you know. Lighten -- Francis. It's it's you know just waiting is great I mean that's what talk radio is all about yet but it sure you get a hundred of the people's expense. Until we do here we live for that every day. One of the greatest -- I think in in all of movie -- lighten up Francis French. And the movies from. Are you honestly seeing if I don't know this well at treaty probably okay. Stripes thank -- With the best one of the best funniest -- movie -- that I -- call. -- so let's get to some other news of the day as well around the NFL and I would also ask you as far as -- Question of the day is concern actually -- the kind of stole my thunder a little bit. Little while ago. In trying to -- with a comparison contrasts style between Chad Johnson who we all know is cut out their for the Bengals and has his own reputation for being a little bit shall we say funky with a guy like Randy moss who really hasn't been out there with the exception of a couple of his you know. Infamous acts like when he moon the fans in the in Green Bay which actual that was hilarious but. I understand when people you know could be offended some of the like that. Don't -- inevitable comparisons of having to do. -- what about this forward -- to somewhat recalcitrant receivers. I don't. He's working on something of a recalcitrant recalcitrant receivers quickly quickly go to your you know wikipedia the history that wanna. And I know that the inevitable comparisons are going to come between the two leading into the matchup next month so my own thought was. Was old why -- we can play also that'll. And play a a you know would you. And seemed like they kind of beat me to the punch but you know if you didn't have a chance to. You'd have a chance to get into that then I would certainly welcome your comments in -- in a best case scenario okay you know. Where would you take Chad Johnson over. Randy moss because I think the majority of it would take Randy moss or Chad Johnson right I mean I don't think there's any great -- about them but in what situation would you. Take the Chad Johnson or that matter T. J. Houshmandzadeh or for that matter Terrell Owens and we'll talk more about that I think about two weeks. When they get ready to face until the Dallas Cowboys but you know Randy moss fulfills -- role that these teams have had it was one of the areas of his patriots football team that they really didn't match up well with -- they've managed to find a way to win enemy last October the first patriots went to Cincinnati and -- of angles. And I think most everybody feels like the same thing's gonna happen the next Monday night you know it it's. Different year different game different night different set of circumstances different players largely for the better for New England but it just -- you can't. You can't compare year to year. And what people say. And I heard for an much as us guys -- in the didn't beat crowd out of the singles last year although in this won't be much the game in -- I'm -- not necessarily. I mean you know when you consider the success of the patriots -- thus far. And you know the angles I have seen you know some offense all offense and very little -- and those foreign wanted to start in the exit well certainly ways in their favor. But anytime you go on the road I mean they are fortunate last year I think everybody realizes that they were fortunate last year. Farm that game was a virtual tossup in -- I'm not mistaken the patriot maybe -- an underdog going into the game. And you know the kind of jump on the bagels and never -- the -- it off track or on track. Now the patriots come into a game where you know they'll be a favorite and a road favorite that and it's just. Is it to me is comparing apples and oranges it's different. Different circumstance you know different things different day different team different in -- everything. A lot of the players are the same but that's the beauty of football because you you you like Herman Edwards is always told is -- you have to play the game you play of the game to win. Right turn pro you need to win -- they're great -- right. And so. Based on the circumstances and with a lot of -- hurt or healthy or guys that chip on the shoulder or you know physically guy has an edge in particular matter match up or most importantly whether you leave the football on the ground -- get picked off for the here. That's the great equalizer. Turnovers and penalties you know. Creates opportunity in the cause not -- good teams to become a little about. And that's the thing the patriots really have to present really -- present. To themselves in an intimate they have to be they have to be obviously very guarded with -- league win and they. On in the prepare for this. We had an email yesterday talk a little about how he thought that that maybe this would be an opportunity for the team. You know try to grind download it warm ball control on and really work on the running game so that you keep the ball out of Cincinnati -- that's all the angles that it was a high power offense we keep them bagels the -- on the field in some. You know 81012 play drives that you can go 607080 yards. If you're able to do that. While I definitely so you got things in your -- who's your mama can't get beaten but. You know part of that also means that you know you're you're probably if you're going to play that way. You're not going to be an you know you're not going to be in an inning you know and it way where you can hand. Opened things up and so by the very nature of the way that your plane. It's going to be a closer game than the score would dictate if you're holding on the ball that means you got fewer chances to put into the end zone. So if you're utilizing ball control. You have fewer chances to a two strike from the pin in. He probably unless you get a little help from the other team by receiving a few turnovers probably not going to hit that 30 point Mark. And the other team is you know put on his track shoes or this is where -- games every very careful with value. How you game plan in and how you set things up and you have to be who you are. And as I also mentioned yesterday the patriots have Randy moss and eat you know going to sit. You know if you have a lamborghini you -- you're not going to sit there with a car and your driveway in his -- that -- without you know -- and test and a little bit. You know put your foot on them and the pedal and yeah NL. -- get any of the home with a motor. Season good stuff right and then maybe only just get a little little gassed is just -- listen to your --"

Play from 13:04[13:04]" Right and then."

Play from 13:09[13:09]" And then you decide you might want to you know take -- for little spent."

Play from 13:20[13:20]" And the patriots offense is very very much like that analogy. -- several that part of the at bat that's the big eagles but a."

Play from 13:32[13:32]" But you know when you have a weapon like that you know home on your bench or in your driveway is we're trying to make the analogy here. -- got you gotta go to it yet you have to you know use it. Otherwise you're an idiot for not use. So I'm not entirely certain. That this is situation the patriots to completely you know just you know shut it down and that. And and you know play come ball controlled keep the ball out of Cincinnati's that's just -- and -- battle but that tomorrow one. In what Tom. But what I wanted to ask you today it was you know would you. Would you take in any set of circumstances would you take. A Chad Johnson would you take it teaches -- measurements out of who would you tech was going to turn this what is in all the guys -- in -- W they kind of worked with -- little bit in the program today. Let's turn this around is the limit is there someone on this Bengals team. That you take would you take black. He can't get who's your mama well I would have to consider taken him. You can't coach heights. You know I think that something in the greatly great al McGwire once at a basketball circles but it's true definitely think -- he'd be somewhere you'd want to look at would you take Chad Johnson. Would you take Rudi Johnson although he's -- we don't really know what his status may be for for next Monday -- a Carson Palmer. I realize that. It may be sacrilege to think you know that you actually taken of the quarterback or Tom Brady but I just talk about you know it and in home in a perfect situation if you have the opportunity to pick them up an add them it's almost like playing a little fantasy football here. What part of the -- Cincinnati Bengals would you take. I want you to take a look at their team I want you to take a look at the roster I want you to take a look at who they have and what they have and play. -- that's all I want shouldn't. And tell me who you wool would it take if you you know had an opportunity to take -- that Cincinnati thing. You know I'm I'm fairly certain of the answers I think but I'm interested to know how you look at this NC bank. And if the answer is no one. Then tell me that. Say there in the Saul on that team that I would take over his counterpart on the knowing the patriots not a soul. So that's why I'm kind of looking at in Afghanistan today is you know I want to I I think Cincinnati is better than their wanting to record at least start. I think since they still has an opportunity to be playoff team certainly in the AFC I don't know how much damage they do unless they you know shore up things defensively. But dumb bomb. I'm like you know Lyndon Johnson at linebacker. Dexter Jackson at safety. Deltha O'Neal corner I think they have some parts to that puzzle that quite frankly I think a very very good. You know they've had their better moments I think at times but you know their recent talent on the -- football they haven't put anything together. I don't know -- hit a melodic super Robert Geathers on the at their defensive line. On let's of the will continue to explore and I'd like to know kind of what you think about it and if your Cincinnati Bengals fan. And -- listening to us today -- a welcome second of all what do you like about eager to. Where do you think the Bengals match up fairly well where the patriots are concerned you play a little wood just. Would you take so and so in reverse here. Web radio at patriots dot com that's the email address that or topic of the day play would you on the Cincinnati roster in would you take someone on that team over their New England counterpart and why and if there isn't. A would you then say so there's not a so. Sorry John you questions -- I wouldn't take anybody that's fine. A -- what you think web radio -- patriots dot com 5 wait 5437482585437482 that's the telephone number and hopefully we can get a little -- apathy you know off the table today. Bomb the at the Cincinnati offense to me. When Carson Palmer kind of came into putting this whole thing together over the last couple years I think it it it. I don't want to I mean first of -- actually Jon -- is pretty quarterback -- you may have opened up his mouth even though Detroit seemed to be you know putting things together. They did lose he'd predicted I think. What was it 1012 wins in -- predict in the offseason some stupid. I thought that was a little bit brash but I understand why did he wanted to try a lot of fire in -- team and create some some some some -- in some -- About the lions Detroit I actually always thought he got a bum steer you know in Cincinnati but I also understand why since they want to bring in a guy like Paul. For all you -- trophy winner prototypical quarterback slingshot arm you know he's got the ability to move around pockets -- more he's got smart site just he's got the package. But I also believe that. Carson Palmer and his. Ability to be an effective quarterback in the NFL has a lot to do with those receivers that he yes. And -- comp is Sally wrote about that in a POW this week. You know I. If you have guys like Johnson in -- to throw to you're automatically going to be better quarterback just like yesterday were talking about well you know Tom Brady has chance. Has a chance to set the all time percentage record for completions in a sees a chains. The former -- quarterback Kenny Anderson did that back in the in 1970s included little over 7% of his passes in a single year which is a phenomenal number Thomas just under 80% right now and if he continues. But he success over the next few weeks will be very difficult for him not. To surpass that Mark. But the reason why what what is the reason why he is having the kind of year that he is -- well it's because he's gotten guys to throw to. They just has not had at his disposal. Moss Welker Stallworth to a lesser extent and that's no slide on the guys who have been here. And set the standard and one super balls before that it's a different. -- offense is a different style alternates. And the patriots have not had this luxury baby ever. And I do think that before this season is said and done you and I -- patriots fans everywhere will be talking about could this potentially be the greatest. Talent wise the greatest patriot team ever assembled. Over any of the three Super Bowl champions. Over the 1985 you know team that won the AFC title and got waxed by the bears in the Super -- Overrun the great teams in the 70s. The late 70s especially on the old school days. -- you know is you know these are the areas that you know as you know somewhat of a patriots historical historian and I know there probably those of you who know some of -- ins and outs of a little better than I do. You know I've been with I've been fallen patriot for 20 years him closely it worked for them for 15 years but Soriano go back to the beginning you know in the early 60s47 years ago. But I do think. That this team will have a chance to stake a claim based on what we've seen -- morning and it's just a small sampling -- obviously talked about three weeks. But this team it will have a chance to put itself right up there were many of the great teams certainly that this this franchise has ever put on a football field. So will be asking ourselves that very question before too long I think hum. You may already be asking yourself that question right now. Possible when he considered the individual talent that's on the field but let's wait. Justice means longer here deceit say everybody stay healthy effective happened is that obviously agreed to play a part in every team every year. And -- how pleased you know talented individuals progress it do they fulfill their promise. Today fall short. They get an opportunity to -- the -- guy like -- I mean well think you know he's pretty good receiver but you know -- have the ball thrown him enough to really be a factor. And if he doesn't have all -- human level why is that. Maybe because a guy like losses just phenomenal and nobody can guard who most -- who knows. We'll let this process begin to the kind of work itself out I think that will be an interesting question coming up oh Craig glad to see that you've email this back thank you welcome back in the full body and Craig in South Carolina is I would take Chad Johnson over TO any day. Not because of the cancer issue though because Chad is at this point in his career a better receiver. He's led the AFC receiving yards the last four years. Is a great personality he's hands down the best route runner in the game he keeps the locker room -- with a sense of humor but he's all business between the lines DJ success -- runs on largely due to the D keying on -- Could you imagine Chad moss in Welker along with the rest of our offense that will be unstoppable. Knowing jedi probably has already had a teacher made that he will put on after touchdown which reads I love Randy moss that's actually would be very good idea. You know if if Chad Johnson is going to. Think of anything that he could do that would attract attention to himself they'll be a great idea put on -- elected under his pants. And then Revealer. After he -- testing in particular that would certainly get people -- when it. That would get people bust it that's actually pretty good good stuff Craig. Always good to hear from but yet Chad Johnson I would I I certainly think is a is a logical. Logical selection in terms of would you on the sensitive -- roster. Now he would take jet just over Terrell Owens but would you take judge Johnson over a New England patriot. Would you take Carson Palmer would you take -- Rudi Johnson healthy healthy. You know as I look at the Cincinnati roster I have to admit. Over their patriot counterpart."

Play from 24:15[24:15]" That's that's that's that's -- That's tough for me to -- I don't think that I would -- be honest within just at first glance the only thing that I might do depends on the side of the ball I might take a healthy in and it Deltha O'Neal over -- Ellis Hobbs but I don't know. I don't know that even might be a stretch he might want to go with youth. In particular that particular instance. But I'd say that was certainly be impossible what about you. Jimmy in Orlando. Guys great show that he'll moss comparison is right on it's apples to oranges moss is a totally different style of receiver. However not being a -- follower until now I'm hearing smacked down here Florida. People who were telling me what moss will do soon. They're -- down here implode you'll start whining as soon as he doesn't get his quota and he'll be disruptive to the team. All likens it these people is simply moss is not the team he is one weapon of many if you were to blow up. Or blow a tire we would still continue to win and finally in the flap in the gums was shut up and coasted down. His peers I go back -- the plug -- days and I remember that games to as a -- knows what I was talking about that are okay. So any -- thank you Jimmy appreciate that absolutely. And you write about the -- moss comparison it is have been ample apples and oranges but you know who's the better receiver well. You know if I really want is I mean why do you get a receiver you get a receiver because you like to throw the ball in generally when -- though the ball -- dink and dunk kind of guy you like to go deep right. I think that moss is a better deep threat than TO and therefore I'm going to take moss over TO. But if I really get my game plan offensively was -- Cross and be physical and pound people in place smash mouth football I think -- might consider Terrell that particular instance because I know -- go over the middle to get a ball. And he can be physical right back with a defense back most the time who is somewhat undersized compared to -- compared to who -- Don't you know. Little different but I do believe that you know there is an opportunity and there is a situation which you might take him Andrew who says he's a past and listening in central Florida hey Andrew at this point I'll take TJ Hoosier -- over Stallworth -- Gaffney. Keep TJ Cruz your mama I just haven't seen enough stalwart we know what he can contribute. Okay I think that's a fair assessment based on you know. Knowing what you know -- the Gallic allusions -- In the fact that you haven't seen of the stalwart at least as patriot to think well he might be a better choice I think that's actually a cup you know. That's a worthy selection. Worthy selection if -- playing would you singles players you'd take over their quote -- patriot counterparts husband's autumn maybe over Stallworth aghast at Gaffney whoever ends up lining up I guess is the number two receiver. Fair assessment what about you web radio act patriots dot com 5 wait 5437482 that's a question of the day we're anticipating being joined by -- Ron Jaworski just living here are we going to you want to try to sneak get a break before that happens we're just gonna hang on here in an -- to a soft shoe. All he's call -- call him okay like that is that have little power in your hands. Beautiful aren't always tweaking hook up with mister Jaworski your momentarily and then we'll look jump into it just a little bit tennis says since the anyone who isn't worried about Cincinnati's take another look at that team. On the -- the most likely win the game of the Bengals beat Vince is to -- the browns scored 51 of the mangled who can't. But there are some serious office of weapons on the team Rudi Johnson is a very good running back anything would recruit Palmer's great Houshmandzadeh mora who's been cancer that would -- says Chad Johnson right dynamic. What I take Palmer over Brady no but barely know. What I take -- over Maroney will the only reason I -- no -- because Maroney is a lot more years ahead of him and Rudy does. Since anymore simply playing a lot of running back had to -- over Sammy had to push over stalwart but I wouldn't trade for Chad Johnson Randy moss at least not this year. Ken thanks for the email to get to more than just a little bit in meantime I'd like to -- one of the program. Well Ron Jaworski of course you know promote ESPN television a Monday Night Football as well join the Booth this year former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Ron it's great to talk we howry today."

Play from 28:50[28:50]" It's fantastic pleasure being with you I'm sitting. In my office that NFL films breaking down the bills patriots as we speak very impressed by the way."

Play from 28:59[28:59]" Well and tell me what your your thoughts are and what in particular impresses you."

Play from 29:03[29:03]" Yeah I don't I think -- overall balance of relativity defense about our goal and very very similar to what the patriots have done in the past. Field of play was tremendous discipline every individual understands their responsibility within the design scheme and they executed just want to get well disciplined deep sense -- team on the opposite side of -- used bottle game right now. Still what I thought gotta be adjusting you know early in the ballgame became I was more about. Still upon our style of offense what I call their heavy formation with. You know what is it three tackles on the field to tight end and tried to run the football power game. That didn't work they immediately went to the wide open offense and about just moving the ball up and down the field. Pretty much we all what they really just -- before I -- I -- talking about Randy moss and obviously you know his performance so far as it has garnered the interest of most people around the country but to me what's been most impressive has been the offensive line."

Play from 29:58[29:58]" Just when we also talk a little bit about that subject last week but the offense -- line the fact is is that it's taken them. You know two or three or four years to sort of create these disparate pieces of the puzzle but what they've done is they've stayed consistent they've stayed solid. And they've learned how to interchange the parts where a guy like you know Russ Hochstein could come into play any position on that line in this team doesn't miss a beat they've really created some that there."

Play from 30:22[30:22]" Yeah an -- versatility upfront grade when you have that type of versatility offensive line you go you can have a balanced running game but a lot of times we talked about balance on offense people mostly equated to well you run the ball 50% cut his throat fifth percentile. I it will -- try to talk about balance I talk about ballots in the running game of the types of runs he could have. Could you have the power running game you know what -- get third gotta wonder run between the tackles. Could you have those explosive plays on the outside we can still hold a quarter while running back he'd get to the outside. Did he run the cost gave it just definitely try to get to the outside what I'm seeing now the patriots offense they're developing
