[0:00]" Let's go let's go let's go -- without at all. This is patriots playbook government operate and that's all -- Right the outside on the seventh round patriots playbook. Breaking down last Sunday's game get go ahead and hit it in there because of -- they're going to vastly over the top next Sunday's game wanna go bought. By having him -- that they've won mirror the rest of the 2000 love an NFL comes back up. Combat on that they want from the air and some of the ones that the between even and you want to break even. Right now."
[0:33]" He news. John raw talent at all."
[0:45]" Back -- you again for another vision of homer radio. Gotta love that. Welcome everybody inside the playbook. More Tuesday John -- here with the that's coming up the 3417 win over the Cleveland Browns and course everybody all open arms because. All my goodness gracious there's a chink in the armor bread is often bandwagon. And all of a sudden now."
[1:10]" Great to try to be good enough to go on the road beat the Dallas Cowboys Dallas team that you know -- boy and for those of you that it was in the program for any length of time over the course last six years this being your seven that we've done this program salary I forget. Well yours would on this program seven the sort of in 2008. Anyway it doesn't. Just look forward next week exactly is try to get through the day that's exactly right at any rate this is the first time I'm not here to talk about the past. It's the first time -- think that I I think I remember forever coming off the -- like. One while -- Did it but if you -- this program Bernie any of the points I -- the course play a few years you know that I'd group and Texas group Dallas. I actually technically forward but certainly as a cowboy fan. And look the cowboys always loved cowboys you know I had to kind of well grand through. Greeted teeth you know when Jerry Jones and Barry switzer and throw those guys are gruesome things they were doing on the fact is that that was the team and -- that we root for laundry around you wouldn't really root for individuals to root for the of the uniform. And in that case of all it's really kind of root for the cowboy uniforms from watching the game last cramping and there's no I -- First -- all. It was 24 to 13 I think when a target I gotta go back and forth -- in the Yankees last night lacked again which by the -- certainly you know what didn't make me unhappy. But then that was a part of me that one of the Yankees two wins it would because -- have been hit by the idea of the other Hoosier daddy won one of Pedro but that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. On network television and includes all the sit comparable as few years I was there so it that would oh. We you there game seven you bastard really. No kidding that would yet to tell me yet degree they'll that was one of the funniest things when they were yell at Pedro coming up Hoosier daddy every bit infamous quote. --"
[3:10]" I."
[3:23]" Love until it anyway even a weird -- here hum. Fact is is that watching that the football game last night honestly -- the while. A family buffalo is doing this and that you know sometimes it happens when a team is -- ought to be you know down an out nobody gives them a chance in. You know on certainly buffalo have to qualify a little bit in that category and then cowboys might have come -- little as I'd like to call -- sassy and it happens. Cowboys have -- improving deviant but they're not there all the way yet. Tony Romo like -- that there was another pick right that he just a number eight you know I mean I've never seen by threw four interceptions and a half. Never seen it until late night. It was on -- was on his way to a temperature eight. But you know let's give I -- the cowboys -- credit effect is they and a winner of global game of the carnival ball over six times give -- kick return and they still in the game. It's amazing. So I guess in in sort of around about way I can understand -- Fred think in the you know the patriots might have you know showing little vulnerability this last week against Cleveland in the cowboys. You know coming off the win that they are I took a look at the other way. You know obviously this Tuesday is very early in the week but here is -- got to look at kids. Cowboys -- Marshall or quick they are coming back home they do get the benefit of the doubt that it's not a you know 3 PM eastern 3 PM central time at the I mean over a 12 noon Eastern Conference at 3 PM eastern time game. Central time and get the times them right -- 4 O'Clock eastern 3 O'Clock central as the kickoff who's -- thank you. They've got an extra couple of hours play with a usually at noon central time -- the -- games they play and and desolate a few extra hours even though it on a night game but it's still a short work week that come off well relatively emotional win a game that they had no right to win a game that they thought they had lost. Until basically buffalo Internet which shot themselves and what that late pick. And even though they scored a touchdown and make a point or points to. Missed the two point conversion there's only 20 seconds left in the game and then they recovered -- stick onside kick. Through plays them peaking at 52 yarder. I mean I could it have been any more improbable. So actually you know I think if they lost that game last night they probably. Our loaded for bear and I and I and I would tend to I would it certainly have tended to agree more. With -- had the cowboys lost last night. Now you know. Could the cowboys coming you know -- cover the spread absolutely this we have in this could be one of those one position -- games. You know it's certainly could because the cowboys as -- that are improving defensively. Mom but if Tony Romo is going to a three picks or more the patriots -- and so let's kind of -- stable at the -- play itself -- before we get into the little bit further here obviously you're emails are welcome web radio. At patriots dot com web radio at patriots dot com tell -- number of elect calling and hey it's open -- able to -- 5854370 or 82585437482 in the program today. Willow kind of go through -- our -- recap and give you some -- what happened in what transpired with the Cleveland this week look at some of the news and notes. And that an -- number two with a program today we'll have them a special guest in studio or Brian Lowe is going to joints not that he's not special. But he's going to bring -- grow from totally patriots patriots today with us. She's going to join us in the second hour and for those of you that live in the area and have seen our -- patriots today programming we've seen her. You know streamed on the website the pleasures Almonte -- but you can come and talk a little -- in the second program that's great. -- outstanding that you take a little but I'm too bad in there's a great job and certainly gives up a little spice to the -- shall we say to the website. The programming that is offered here that's coming up our number two of the program on let me give you might. First thoughts anyway on what I thought really kind of transpired. Disappointed yeah down I think so I mean it doesn't really surprise me. That you know this football team had you know a bit of downer if you will more than anything else. I mean the fact of the matter is that you're not going to be able to play and a herculean effort for 16 weeks it's not going to happen that agreements that you weren't sure that was going to come home to a Cleveland team that you know for lack a better phrase struggled for the most part. With the notable exception they scored 51 on the board against Cincinnati now I did see some things. Offensively from Cleveland that I liked you know shame for them that they lost Jamal Lewis or early in the game I think that took hold -- mention other opens up but I I believe that there another wide receiver for in addition of what they have what Braylon Edwards -- other. Good sized wide receiver away from being a very potent team on office and I also believe that the even though and I understand why Derek Anderson is the quarterback now he's a big dude McCormick who went in realized he was 67. But practices Brady Quinn's team is going to be ready Quinn's team. And I fuel relatively certain that as soon as Cleveland -- sort of eliminated from the proceedings at that turned the ball over to Brady. But the other two and three Cleveland has Miami this week. In Miami is just god awful I mean -- you know as a new coach ever been fired in mid season of his first year with the team. I'm thinking cam Cameron could be candidate because Miami has absolutely nothing going for. On either side of the football and they probably just lost Trent green who they agonized over getting. And failed to really pull the trigger on for much of the summer and they get -- man and the guy has. Another concussion and that could be career in. For his sake I hope we decides to hang -- by that was a brutal hit that he got on the -- I understand why. You know there was so much controversy over it thinking that you know he was eight green was like in the -- was trying to you know couple lineman down and so. This is what happens in the sport but standing over him in taught him after he's down on the ground like that was just. Ridiculous that to be at least a little bit of -- decorum on the field even in the face of battle and now I'd -- fully expect that applied to become -- way but even on aggressive on the island this is committed aggression that -- things. On there -- a lot of things to nitpick over kids came nitpick Tuesday is here. Is what we kind of special -- Tuesday's doing we've spent you know most for Tuesday's you know going over. -- trying to find some of the dark lining in the otherwise silver cloud. Similar because you know old we are trying to adhere to you know the teacher saying that went through the locker room which by the way you've heard your first. Patriots -- last week in although I eat it on the front and the humble pie on the back pitchers combined it was Thomas. While plenty of -- particle around this week. So at least initially our email question today do you should be all right what did you see bad. What did you not like what can you nitpick over what is correct double what do you think and this may be a better question for you today. What you see is a prolonged problem. What is what would -- did you see something happen on Sunday you think may take a little bit more time an effort to correct. To fix to get right. We'll see what you think. You watch the game. Probably listen to -- what do you think web radio at patriots dot com five awake five point 37482 now that you had a couple of days -- sort of suggested. Listen to some of the opinions. I'd like to know what you think about it that's what we do here in Tuesday's nitpick -- was picked the nets as part of bad it was an accident with a good. I would tell you that I do believe that -- You know I think Cleveland was a little bit better than advertised. I was impressed with their offense initially. I think that the defensively they were doing some things that too slow if not outright confuse the patriots on offense about the game plan they had was a pretty good Lamar Romeo Cornell but. My guess is they probably would like to over on the Baltimore ahead you know Jamal Lewis not gone out gone out after the first play of the game. And so they were left with what they were left with. But I you know overall thought that they're offense did move the ball surprisingly well the patriots defense in spite of the interceptions. Despite the sacks that where there is. You know the guys were talk a little while ago I mean Bruschi came in -- two -- he was virtually untouched there was clearly blown assignments there somewhere. -- got his interceptions on tips which is fine had to get your hands the ball -- it and the ball and -- the presence of mind be there and and realism. Right place right time and that's sometimes it just happens that way. -- we saw some improvements. As we look at both sides of the story that we did see some improvement I think in no red zone these games. But it's stopped a couple of trip down there including the very last play of the game but we also saw some struggles from the patriots in red zone offense. In converting the way that they had converted at least to the first four weeks of the season. It was sort of a little bit of -- given that battle a funny story not the into the game you know courses 2717 the in Cleveland as the ball. And were actually there is pictured it just scored and made 30 force him into Cleveland's with a bald and try to get into the -- right if they can pull. Within ten Corson sure many you're aware that they spread for the game with 16 kickoff. Maybe in the 60s have. 16 and I am so obviously it was going to take a 17 point victory to cover the spread so you have the patriots you're going to win it 3417 which you ultimately did. But it was tough -- their for a while because the browns remove it and they had the football and it was fourth and goal at the other third and go play at the ten yard -- And the -- five seconds left on the clock and so. George -- is the clock operator at the stating it's two seats to my right in the in the broadcasters were were located on about the 3540 yard line. And a look at Georgia he looked at me and I said so George this could be of topics like your body goes who knows who knows the political play is going to be. And course they thorn in completion and there's still 12 left on the clock. It's I'm looking at Georgia -- laughing about them and he's like on you know I got a call it straight right. He is a group of guys sitting right in front right outside the window clearly. Clearly -- always -- I had a little action don't use for and a little action. One -- turned around a George's -- electric clock run out I got my heart bucks in my pocket for. Obviously got probably a little more than a hundred bucks on the -- what you ask for. But they're the only people -- really concern over that. Last goal line stand from the ten yard line where those jobs -- on the game. Cleveland scored in what do taking care of -- Britain they would undoubtedly lost their wagers. But that is of course why they play the game the patriots held on it was 3470 and so that was it was a little bit about interesting shall we say Americana. Little slice of America honorable Foxboro. Flavor for it before -- for the into the game was completed com. Let's let's -- locals so at some the other. You know you know while we look at the nit picky items. Let's also take a look at some of the positive -- again in -- go through this epic as well. You know going to try to real run both sides of the street it's not all home radio is. Indians in common those guys think it is going to try to look at things somewhat analytically here and called as we see. That is about anymore resident of the pretty good game on the football did get over a hundred yards again had a 102 on the ground. As -- he has operated in very good stead. In the absence of Laurence Maroney. But medalist -- the -- what's up with Laurence Maroney. In my -- have this sinking feeling. That maybe he's just not as durable. As we hope you might -- I realize they had -- on the whole shoulder thing kept him on the off season. But the shoulders of the problem -- is it's a hamstring now on he's missed two games with a sore hamstring. He's been inactive for ball that -- he suited up last week in Cincinnati was a late scratch he didn't even suit up. I'd I'd seen him at all the sideline suited up for Cleveland this is getting worse he said two weeks off and it's gotten worse. I'm not real confident. Not terribly confident is her ability I hope that I am wrong. And that he can bounce back and then some in and make an appearance an X on the afternoon against the cowboys but the I I think that's a sort of give and take there while I'm really happy that. -- like Sammy Morris has responded in as certainly -- Morse is going to be got that will want to respond playing in Texas mean he that it Texas Tech he's from yours so I mean. I would think that he would be sufficiently motivated to play in front of the cowboys and Texans fans. Are in Dallas fans in in them. -- next Sunday but the fact is that we're going to need. Two backs on the most through it realizes you need two good quality backs. And -- is with the -- respect Kevin Faulk but yet that guys also that can. Go between the tackles best possible. And a Maroney is going to be needed and I am beginning to think that maybe he's just a little bit too fragile. Based on what we seamless foreign relief that's all we can go is based on what we've seen thus more. Little bit of fragility involved there's so that's one thing that does sort of trying to cheat you damn that ask which. Those kind of concern me it to -- So that's one thing I think -- look at. I don't think that. Positively -- you had a first career hundred yard receiving day for a guy like Benjamin Watson. And if they're going to pay more attention to the wide receivers with -- more attention -- To moss and so on it was -- ordinary. But you know it was minister of the moss wasn't open he was in single coverage a few times. I by the Brady did not have his best day he was off target was and is accurate near his accurate and he had been in any one of the previous four games this year. Bombs so there was a little more attention paid Randy but not a lot more. Not as much maybe you would think by looking at the number it was a four catches or was arm. There was more opportunity for Donte' Stallworth and certainly for a guy like Watson so I think you know having Benjamin Watson able to break out but just creates another threat. And while we all love to -- I think in theory Randy moss you know have a hundred yard receiving game every game out and shatter the record for receiving yards shatter the record for touchdown catches in a year and whatever I think the fact is the patriots overall street going to be better if no one knows what's coming. They know Randy moss is a threat now you gotta be able to step out there and develop your of the threats that you've got to go to them. At specific times during the game in order to make and keep defenses honest. Doesn't that make sense. I mean it goes to make. So if the ball on the Stallworth he's got to catch he had a couple of drops quite frankly it was you know they were inexcusable you can't just drop the ball like that. -- the ball on your hand if you go straight down great but hold on the dog on football. Bomb -- that was one of the reasons why they kind of got rid of Reche Caldwell was not good all on the ball. So -- and that's one thing you have to come look out for. But you have to develop those other sources and so if if stalwart becomes a viable source certainly Watson over the middle you've you know what you have with -- Wes Welker do you know. Jabar Gaffney has been going prone to a few times yeah I think you know if and when you're ever. You know fully able -- Kelley Washington out there you see what you have with him all the Washington returned -- this last week inspection teams. On the movement that would be a decision made what's true brown yesterday return and we could calm. Somewhere in there and you know Washington that's that is the -- the Washington could be the odd man on this particular instance but you know again time only tell here it is going to have you gotta have the ability to go the other threats simply because you have to have you have to be able to keep the other other teams' defenses honest. As a that's why I'm not unhappy with the fact that moss didn't get quote unquote big yards -- big scores and was glad to see a guy like Watson have the break -- game. -- this only make your offense better overall. I think everybody pretty much understands that right. And it's pretty much par for the course so you know so again -- give -- a take where that's concerned great deceit. Other targets being thrown to another targets offensively being a focal point but. Not so good to see a Brady's struggle against what's on his accuracy and beat guys like stalwart drop an easy ones. So there's a little nit -- there's a little given little takes a little positive and a little negative. In an effort to sort of again balance this picture out. Mean what do we ever in the past really bit upset. Over a 17 point when I realized is the closest margin but any team has been the team this far this will this year to five weeks but I mean come on 17 points. Spread with 16 and a half. Seems to be somebody actually got something right for a change. So I don't know that we should really look a whole lot into this but again that's what we do here we sort of analyze and over analyze in over analyze again. In an effort to sort of make it all makes sense somewhere in in our own you know little football brains that we have so there's a couple of ideas for him in -- negatives nit picks in some positives as well between the running game in the passing game we flip it over to the other side of the of the of the ball and the fact is they were able to get some good pressure at times on Anderson but I don't think he was consistent I don't think that they had. You know I mean certainly were Tedy Bruschi is our concern I mean those were just. Flat out you know reads but he was left on blocked in unionized -- going to -- you gotta get a take the shot which he did. And became a big. And I think they also realize that you know Derek Anderson in his delivery for a guy who's as -- as he is as big as he is back there if he doesn't come over the -- his delivery so you noticed when he was going back to throw hands were up on defense and they were able to tip. A few and pick off. You know their fair share as well and so I think that was something that they learn from Anderson look at it tightened things that happened early on the football game especially. -- the first drive down they get down a one yard like try to what gets tipped by Sunday Sam Williams on sale comes down within the -- aliens. First time all -- they've stopped anybody inside their 20 yard. Got the hands. So what's it. We applaud them for getting you know for taking advantage of the open lanes and sack a quarterback and yet the front four didn't get pressure on the quarterback really for the for with a -- three. The rush the down -- they give pressure on the court right the first time this year in five weeks linebackers. About that pretty good job overall I'm reconsider sale of the picks Bruschi of the sex I know couple of E mailers were concerned about the -- Thomas going down and in an exit polls correct he's actually gone out for a few you know elongated periods I believe in almost every game thus far this year. It's just that. This when he required assistance to get off the field which it is you know that is until the end up a little bit and so they took a TV timeout and you just noticed this when. But it was the first tommies actually missed a portion of the game. And it's just happens I mean this is one reason why you go and get the guys that you had a toy you signed. Junior zealot why you let out Eric Alexander stick around and -- woods and some of the of the linebackers and -- Chad brown even though he's been inactive the last probably does well you have these guys around because injuries happen. And we all know all the what the pay true way of doing things has been they've been able the last several years of success to plug guys in when injuries occur. Fortunately nothing serious has happened yet today it was Thomas. But he isn't a man amongst boys I think up their defense when there was an improved play by the secondary based on the you know the tip drill. And Randall gay picking up the other fumble -- returning it for a touchdown of the and -- provide the final margin of victory kind of ironic that the only other time he's. Returned a fumble for a touchdown -- also be in Cleveland. I guess he likes to play gets the brown says. So some more give and take for your defense. And I'll give you one final at least observation of you know -- nit picky item here. Police it is so opening -- the on the program that that I think that you know while right now it really doesn't mean a lot. But I think it is something that could come back and on this team on down the line. And there is a glaring lack of consistency in the kicking game specifically from parker. And and Chris Hansen is is you know his averages not good he had more of an opportunity to kick the football. On Sunday. Latin the first few weeks he barely get a chance to kick -- when he did have a chance to -- he was trying to play field positions -- never really had a chance of the boom off 4045 yarder. They were always trying to -- a defense and so he -- he's asked in that situation dependent team inside their 20 yard. My guess that he was one of the leaders in the in the league last year to in kicks inside the -- point. One reason why the patriots one of the reasons with a Ladainian blogger go on brought in Hansen or at the end of Leah Leah exhibition season. But maladies -- an opportunity to kick you know in their into the field they had some three and outs and had some struggles on offense on you need him. You native to both you and the ball even though he gets good hang time on it on it just dice. In fact two -- three the parts are ever specifically going out of balance while they were still well in the air. Who was coming off the side of his foot was gonna shank but he's just he's not placing it well hang time is good. But the distance is not you only get about 3536 yards 37 may be a kick and you need to get eight to ten yards more than that. Interview up if you're up against team that is any better offensively than Cleveland wasn't Cleveland's not a slouch on offense when their health. You get anybody better you one up against offensively that you're going to be in trouble play that field position game you're going to lose that battle and so while right now it's not a big problem. I'm certainly be in nit picky about it now that you cannot convince me that hasn't crossed your mind yet. If -- side while we talk about this a couple weeks ago when began it taking here on Tuesdays and you know. It well it's not really problem because it really had much chance to kick but now that he's had a chance to connect we might have to revisit this. Potentially in -- after it is self there's a net export. There a couple of things that I think you should probably look at there are some ideas out -- for you to consider an -- like for -- contributed program let me know what. Little nit -- thing. You can come up with that you saw that you think could be corrected it needs to be corrected or as I suggested a couple of minutes ago bomb. Come out one of those -- big problem is that you think may be a little bit more problematic in terms of fixing is there more of a long term issue. In your mind. A tournament didn't find them about now web radio at patriots dot com WEB our -- the ideal Webber deal at patriots dot com as he reaches -- numbering in his five -- 5437482 by the like. You know I work for the patriots the last 15 years. Gordon asked me if I'm conflicted about Sunday they want I won't be because I know what worked for but. One of my family back home in Texas will be that's for sure they know we're the patriots and they they have a New England Patriots fan club going on Fort Worth but. My guess is going to push comes to -- probably -- back -- Texas roots and root for the cowboys and I can't say that I necessarily blame them but it's it's going to be interesting and I and I am I'm glad that the cowboys won last night -- it does set up but. Great matchup between final team and obviously will jump into that a little bit later on here in the program and I will certainly delve into the match of the cowboys on Wednesday's and Thursday's show this week in them give their conference calls in -- media members and such like that all of the 40s we gonna break this thing down because he got two of the three teams. In the NFL unbeaten. Three unbeaten teams left two of them will face off against each other on Sunday and the patriots are the one traveling to the home field of the countless. The actually at least on the surface it didn't it doesn't look on. And that it was you have to consider I think you know the patriots against the cowboys and then. We'll see if the cowboys can and can hold their own short work week it's going to be tough performance guarantee that. But my guess is once they start looking at tape they'll realize that -- we but it didn't hear what we can -- our heads handed to us and we turned the ball over. I just I just think that that was not the right thing to do but you know hey it's it's an emotional game it's a violent game stuff happens and yet try to move on. But I just man they want to sucks to be golf right now. -- to -- dolphins fan right now I in my area saint Louis the only 215 teams Italy. How far the mighty have fallen. And I know that the very few patriots -- losing any sleep with the fact that the dolphins -- and have now Cleo Lemon as the starting quarterback. But I mean I just like while. How does it go that bad that ourselves that quickly. You gotta wonder. And like I said you know early I mean is this can be the first year that you see if for your coach dismissed before at the season's over. While the head down NC also hurt on Sunday but the dolphins Simpson's detail or -- tally who's their rookie center he had a neck injury that they're not sure. How -- he's going to be safety Cameron war -- out in fact that but I believe I read this week where the dolphins have started a different safety every week so they're pretty banged up. And it doesn't look like it's gonna get any better any time soon Miami gets to publicly on the next week in and by the way who would have thought the Cleveland never shot a legitimate shot -- in three and three before they go into their off week. Was give Romeo Cornell the browns a little credit. You know they're going to be competitive and we talk a little bit though about that even spent some time at length talking about that last week and fact of the matter is is that them you know. This might be paid jobs AB performance for a guy like Romeo but the looks like Cleveland's back at least would be competitive but the below the green took to his them. Is temple that look -- that really did the other quarterback was lost in the NFL this year this last week Jake DelHomme it's going to have a surgery on a strained right elbow just couldn't throw this week couldn't throw. So while they're going to have he's going to have I guess the football equivalent of Tommy John surgery and it ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow. And so now the the Carolina Panthers who were thought to be a pre season favorite. On in the NFC a potentially compete for the Super Bowl again meet you can't like their chances. Not now. Certainly not now David Carr who they brought in from Houston the once battered David Carr is now the other go to guy so it's good for David although. You make an argument now I think the Houston actually might be at least as competitive if not more so -- the Carolina Panthers at this stage of the car's got to move in. And I guess the back up now depending upon who they might go ought to try to you know find available this week if there's always Vinny Testaverde could be. -- an undrafted rookie and -- more. And Quinton porter former Boston College product on the roster -- he's on the practice so bomb. Jake DelHomme is out now for the year Carolina Panthers the other guys PW guys were talking about for the tailor programs about why. You know and Sammy that was it also brought up point why the overall caliber of play. Does not --"
[40:22]" To be as sharp this year maybe as in the last few recent years and part of it is. You can probably guess I had I tend to think that maybe. That the talent that's coming in to take over is just not mature talent. I don't necessarily think it's because they're just not as much good talent Nathalie or there's not a many talented players only an effect Percival. The younger guys that are plan they had to beat somebody out for their position so they're beating somebody out that it it tells me that while they must be doing something right. What I think is is that you don't have consistency with these younger players. Some days are going to be really good. Holidays are not going to be so. But teams have made the move toward youth in an effort to you know. Get everybody on the same page as quickly as possible and and -- continuity cohesiveness and and and in hopefully you know build wins. And so I would just tend to think that maybe the league is a little more immature that we've seen. In the last few years that really is is it. I would also tell you that I think we're beginning to recycle some coaches I mean with all due respect to wade Phillips -- the cowboys coach now. I think I think we all realize now why he is the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. It's a -- the Jerry Jones can you know push around. -- Gerry has on his puppet strings I mean really let's let's call lightly sit. Yeah I think he's a good football mind I think he's very good defensive tactician. Although you'd have to say right now that they're struggling on. He fits although they do have some speed in. Cowboys did get a little bit better they've got a little bit better I think overall every week but they're not where they need to be I don't think in order to to be a -- Super Bowl contender but. You know the NFC being ordered as the cowboys might get that by default. Don't be shocked and surprised. If we see this matchup against first weekend in February. Don't be surprised at all good right now I think we're headed that direction. -- get older respect for the colts to put the -- that thinker capable killed don't have the same defense the patriots have right now. Biggest thing the colts have gone to them right now is the fact that they get the patriots at home. -- the cowboys have over them right now as they get patriots at home. These two games -- coming this week and then on November the fourth arguably the two toughest games. On the patriots schedule this year I don't think anybody will really disagree with that but a few others that have been problematic we talked about that here and there but. These are the toughest to because they're the two other number one of the two undefeated teams along with the patriots in the league right now that's the first thing. Number two."
[43:03]" There's the other two good teams right now they've put themselves head and shoulders above the others. Ever through the patriots have to put both of them away. Tough."
[43:15]" Tough to do. Very tough to -- tough to look at."
[43:20]" But the the cowboys are kind of -- in the NFC right now just almost by default it. All the power rankings Earl coming out of their various sources today. And you know certainly should come as any surprise that -- patrons are still over the top of the list the colts number two the cowboys -- number three"
[43:44]" they have the Steelers this is the one on ESPN. They have the steelers' four they have the Packers five the jags six Tennessee seven. Here's the team I think that the patriots really -- going to have to watch out for because they're going to be here in two weeks. Washington Redskins. -- have Marty had their body. I hate him in the early by the -- I think -- I think -- bye week 12 -- 13 you're -- your tongue is -- Have you had any injuries at all it's just very difficult. Very difficult. To regroup. So I think if you you know the dice roll and you get the early by I think you're just I think -- at a disadvantage but Redskins going to try to dispel that. There's three and one that already had their body in the first team to have one. So the net play straight through but I think that even though they've got to come here that the Redskins will be. A bit more of a challenge now than say a week or two ago that I thought they would be Robin that's a game definitely going to have to look at the Redskins eighth right now on the powerful. And the ravens in the the Seahawks nine intent. So that's kind of where they bring things the patriots will be playing out of top ten 12345. -- those top ten in the a power rankings remainder of the year. And that definitely says something it's tough schedule that you've got."
[45:11]" You win three of those you probably feel okay about yourself you would four of them you don't an extraordinary job five is almost too much to ask for -- you look at it from my vantage point. I mean let's be real -- right. But the tough thing look at in the category held a mighty have fallen dolphins are dead last at 32. Rams -- 31 and then more recent past the saints last year dolls and garlands there's 30 it alone for. While jets are much better the jets Tony. I had a chance to. Talk for awhile with Pete Brock former patriot center earlier today India business function we have here -- the stadium earlier this afternoon and he's still refers to today as the August jets. Some old habits are hard to give up but but that's what I like about these guys as does the biggest you don't forget. You might forgive but you don't forget stone that's relief guy -- boils down. -- some thoughts on what's happening around the league anyway upper a little bit let's get a couple of emails Lawrence's -- these colts fan west Linn Oregon he says. I think Jimmy Johnson the cowboys brought in the style of play we have now on the NFL. The concentration by many teams has been to get players that are stronger and faster. And it contributed to the use of performance enhancement drugs lack of development of one of the fundamentals. Calm."
[46:40]" The -- about that -- countries but many teams have been good players that are stronger faster well I've yet to realize that. The natural evolution things Lawrence is that players are gone inevitably become stronger and faster. Training techniques are better diets are better you know I mean let's face a 300 pound lineman -- years ago was catered considered fat out of shape. Now if you don't have -- a pound guys on the line you weaken your ineffective. Com I would also argue that you know because of the way the teams have spread offenses and you're going to see this more and more now. That you the way that the offense has developed it's forced teams. The literally too deep to be able to survive it force teams to be faster on defense because they've got to go sideline to sideline and fill the gaps much more quickly. So I don't know that it it's. You know stronger faster than that it is an inevitability we're never going to go back to slowed in in in you know. Not talented or you know big and slow Dohmann that stupid no let's go on of that stuff. Performance enhancement drugs have I think in the past I guess this problem where you're coming certainly have enticed players I think to get. Bigger stronger faster more quickly. Without doing there the requisite you know you know no pain no gain. That I would agree. Points continues by saint what you see from the patriots as a deep commitment on the -- less concerned with bigger stronger faster. Well they're still concern over bigger stronger faster. -- you are correct when you -- a deep commitment to the fundamentals. That's why most of the most games you see the patriots you know not commit many turnovers and many penalties you know you know that's why you did this team is committed to taking care of the ball and to not beating itself. Except for the rare occasion when you know the inches come off you know patronage. Are usually you know not only are they in the positive category -- in the plus category turnovers but they're usually below the opponent. In penalties in penalty yardage. Because of their commitment of fundamentals. -- is always a couple weeks or China and how the colts will be the paths for the fourth straight time. Well you guys handle the -- was sexual on the doubts but at what -- this week. Fair enough Lawrence but -- 40 hearing from you a couple of weeks. Calm and not ought to be a doozy in -- there's no doubt about it Jimmy says Frisco with a cowboys make sure he's in Pat's Jersey when he goes to Dallas in rabbit convertible. He should rent and no barbecue for him. He's going to pick the cowboys guys that you might -- understand it this from wikipedia. Afterward pejorative slang term corner of the 19 century but southern black Americans describe or -- right. -- blackbirds as a symbol of themselves in the woodpecker as they representation of working class whites. They consider them loud and troublesome like the bird all the with red here similar to the -- the -- so widely used by southern blacks referred to southern points. Arnold but you but I've definitely called a -- pectoral would in my life. Pick -- But it's true -- largely silent so now that you know that we've brought all of that up to snuff -- An hour after it happened but nevertheless like us that we do read the emails here Andean Vermont says ohno. They only won by 17 points the end must be in the year he -- in sarcasm. Did you expect -- team to not play -- if anyone knows the patriots it's Cornell. He knows how Bill Belichick game plans and what the patriots try to take away from teams plus he has his own defensive mind. It seems to have the browns going in the right direction. While I think Italy in in around about laity I'm I'm right there -- the have to give them credit benefit of the doubt rather than really criticizing the patriots for. Any lackluster performances like he said you know we nitpick on -- here but. I've -- to your fair share of compliment. Compliments in -- goes to go to the grounds for being prepared for having -- decent game plan they'd just don't have. The overall quality or caliber player yet. Nor do they have the depth yet in order to be in the patriots category. But it would appear. What's Romeo in his third year I think there -- think Peru's third here it would appear that he's got that team finally headed in the right direction. Even just based on what we saw on Sunday. Other it was interesting we spoke with Steve king from. Cleveland Browns dot com last week when he said that though no they would never think. Honestly an even though there was rumors about Romeo and his job being potentially on the line this year if this team struggled. He's on all they don't ever want to go they don't want to go back down that route again and start all over him square one -- like the last three years didn't exist. You know they definitely want to you know to let this thing play itself -- and give him a chance to create something and and they're not going to pull the plug on this so that sort of answer a question is his job on the line still. Apparently knocked. Now that again if they don't win another game the rest of the year than that might be reevaluated but it would appear just from what we saw on Sunday. That's not to be the case and back I can easily see the browns in a beating Miami this weekend and then going like I said earlier into their off week at three and three. And three and three they're still pretty much kind of in the thick of things only a couple of games heavily in the division. And the lead in the division -- you know -- anybody thinks of this team as a playoff team but fact is they'll be competitive they would certainly have a shot I think and it winning 678 games. And that would be a step in the right direction. That gets it going so we'll give some credit. Credit is due to Cornell in the -- more so than take what the patriots all alone like I said early guys is pretty clear to say. This was not that stand out sterling effort by the patriots compared to the other four games this was a step back. Accuracy wasn't their offense there was some softness to the -- fans. At least between the 20s although they did get a little stiffer I think in the red zone as we talked about but. I guess we'll probably learn more as to whether or not that was more so Cleveland it in the game plan as opposed to. The patriots just sort of being lackluster we'll learn more this week on the -- against cowboys. I tend to think right after the game on Sunday company while they really kind of stunk it up today got lucky. But now that I've had two days delighted in a kind of satin and stake a little. You know what I'm thinking a little bit more that I think we have feel a bit more credit to Cleveland. Rather than just say the patriots just -- they got away with a stinker they did it to an extent but it wasn't all. The patriots being you know fault or four. 80 says -- out of the bat boys and big deal Tony Romo coughed -- even half as many times next week patriot should win going away. I was watching last night it's on AFC team that's really not that good. Almost kill the best team in the NFC somehow the cowboys pulled one of the rear really believe that shows the strength of the AFC yeah. But again I think you have to realize that there's just overall not that big the difference. Between teams that are ranked down in the 28 to 32 range now the bottom half of the league bottom third of the league. As opposed teams in the upper tier I just I mean. I really don't think there is there's more and more parity each and every year in the league I think that may have something to do with the perceived notion. That there isn't as much overall talent in the league. I think as a lot to do with the parity other guys are just getting on other guys whacking each other around and I think anybody's capable of making a good play cable and they get a big play capable of winning -- game each and every Sunday and this is what the NFL wants. Now it did take cowboys playing fairly poorly. In Rome on particular playing fairly poorly to keep buffalo in the game."
[55:01]" The buffalo was -- they they were totally act for the game they were they were pumped they were jacked. You know they you know first Monday night game and what was at 13 years so mean you know you -- what it was like right here we have ever Monday night game forever. Of people -- through the roof around here fans were -- And it's not so we've in the world more used to it now we were starting actually to act like we've been -- before which of these is that the right direction to be honest with but honestly do you understand the emotion the players got caught up minute and and as we talked about her they've been besieged by injuries and and setbacks in and so you know. Buffalo is. They're they're two hairs away from being three into instead of one and four. Mean they they they lost the opener to Denver the last second field though we lost last night on a last second field goal. Mean they are two pairs went from being three into and being a couple of games out of the lead not only in this division would be in right in the thick of things in terms of you know. Looking at a potential wild card. The buffalo is not that bad days those guys play it would would emotion you know but I think Trent Edwards has -- a a respectable job. Better than even respectable in in backing up lost -- quarterbacks during his injury time. I think Marshawn Lynch is going to be a very good back in the NFL. Even though they lost peerless price for the year as it turns out again number one of those injuries the receivers they have are still good Aaron -- one of the best defensive ends in the league just -- like that question. So me and got a lot of things go right now as much as it is but then the next best team in his division. Jets are awful Miami's worse. He can certainly make an argument in May not be much of an argument that the patriots currently resides in the worst division in the NFL. -- spent some time kind of thinking about them talking about that later this week may have to take a look at that some -- because of the way that the other teams in the division planes just it's like next ridiculous Luis says John hope you don't find I am thank you exist which division the worst BA of ease were doing about that I swear I didn't look at his police and the three dwarfs or the AFC west of the mighty raiders in first place actually a very good question hum. Right now I'd have to say that I believe that the division overall that the patriots for the in the in the worst division. And because I think their bottom team. Is just god awful. And the jets just barely better than like -- this and on the buffalo certainly better than one and four will indicate. But as -- there to -- as a way from being preemptive so I think they're little better than what they've played. I don't with the jets are as good as hell they play the jets should won that game against the giants and they gave up 21 unanswered points at the end how does that happen. And he basically -- the rose visiting team is playing in homestead. Giants are not good. They're overrated not good not good defensively they're inconsistent at best on offense and the jets got hammered. So you know I would say that even -- the raiders -- first -- and the raiders are not as bad as Luis bomb. As once feared -- Denver is very good I think San Diego is still struggling to go to work you know the new coaches into the mix. Although they certainly showed signs of coming back strong this last weekend. And I only Kansas -- very good. But I think even the worst team in that division which written come may -- Denver I think there certainly better than Miami and that's why I would give the edge. In terms of worst divisions -- give the edge of the AFC east over the AFC west at least the state that's a that's a question we're talk about -- runner up. Thanks for the email oh let's move on here two weeks he's a couple more for what will break in the top of the hour here and then we'll bring in -- Brian in. Christina hum. This comes from diet Bridgeport, Connecticut. Thank you don't -- I don't know with the got this okay owls got to now. She says once Stallworth oh question response to genre because he asked the question look at the patriots -- improve thank you bum. She says hi John wants Stallworth catches the ball is a good runner but I might I might overly concerned. -- his ability to be reliable receiver seemed to have difficulty catching the football he needs to look down -- problem follow on the football was the glasses. Question that tries to put a law blog that want to second bomb our other needs glasses but I would say what he's. I think because he's been -- almost an afterthought in the offense in the first four weeks. But he realizes what's now that he is number's been dial a few times. I think he's probably a little over anxious and so my guess is he's ready and anxious to turn it up field and make some gains I I think that's a little bit of the you know an -- guy like Randy moss who lines of beside you need as well you don't want to pale by comparison funny he's anxious. Get out there on the -- for at least forgot the look is the ball into his hands forget some of the fundamentals in an effort to make a big play. I don't think. Es un reliable at all I just think he's overly anxious on the all he -- to settle down a little bit. And again you hear this Triton worn and tired cliche he's going to let the game come to him and the football come to him."
[1:00:21]" Sometimes you can get yet. Their yards after the catch sometimes you can't."
[1:00:26]" You know just catch the football first then worry about the economical see where we go and I really think that's that's his only problem on the he's on reliable she's his question the try to put the concern into perspective of the total number of incomplete pass the Brady is don't how many were to stall worth. -- I don't know that I have that number available to me it probably have to go to the play by play as he by going to actually big that number out. I don't know that it would be a majority I'm sure that there are few me drop what that I can recall a couple. Maybe couple. Not one last second field I want to argue -- Chris publisher to kill them but they didn't -- all the mistakes of the great equalizer on the football field. And I will tell you this that it -- the cowboys make the same type of mistakes. Maybe not the same number but things -- mistakes. [1:12:57]" I did it gators for about a year can it's. Right ask you go to school and -- achievers graduated where the gators now and next and you. I did today and between -- says these next. Best at right creators Anselm Eric I did I actually did several sports and football mainly -- Tennis golf everything's you know Billy Donovan. I have met Billy and -- for an an absolutely great -- program pretty good when a couple of national champ -- Expect about an okay gotta go overboard I mean I admire -- all of them sound of that and."
[1:13:39]" Yeah that's awesome all right so you come to New England you bring your talents and we're talking of football and try to create this this. This piece that you have so I mean diamond though what you think of this football team compared to what you've been to in the past."
[1:13:53]" It is really unbelievable the difference first I think down where I'm from. It is a big college football oriented region. On being from the south and that's that's all of diehard fans -- for what college or another you only get that with the dolphins on -- other pro teams down south sell when it came up here is really unbelievable to see. Just New England in general across the board how the fans are just unbelievable for right every sport. It's really been finding interesting it opened up a whole new. Aspect of professional football for me and what better team to cover and the New England Patriots to start off sell I'm really enjoying it it's been a good time."
[1:14:30]" There's talk but it differently. Some view my -- realized that fourth ranked college football team in the country right down street man and you need in order I mean the difference must be. Staggering down there like -- in the Florida where you're expected to perform the country where she feels like -- that I expect right it's expected where where I'm front right fielder. You're still playing behind the patriots Red Sox Celtics -- right it's such approach."
[1:14:55]" Now I am now and that's where the focus is but not to think it. -- that's really great and I mean. You grow up with the dolphins. Didn't really ever -- that it's. It's it's cool that it's kind of -- I was missing out on it but it's really cool to add that perspective was always a dolphin fan I want as I went when I was younger alone my dad went to the -- until it cut. Brutally high. It's so hard."
[1:15:20]" I really want him that and not you. Bring bring the park cup. That happen at any -- else. Five apart I worked out for our staff by the hot guy yeah and then and -- death and the UV and UB whether veteran on the corner of it. Bomb well then you're obviously a least a little working knowledge of the patriot -- you've probably seen him play a lot obviously everybody knows that. There's that AFC east rivalry thing going between the two will back the even and probably beyond -- the -- back in the 80s right so that whole thing you know going on between the two franchises are you probably now -- Perplexed as to what's going on in in Miami -- this team is a with out of 215 starts and I was talking about it a little bit early in the program and I'm like -- Ken Cameron going to be the only coach in the history of the NFL to come into a brand new team. And get fired before -- when the season. Five before it went yeah and north again."
[1:16:13]" It's -- support -- we're just we're just in the office on espn.com and you know obviously the -- to ranked number one and Christina is just like our the dolphins -- out. Scroll -- keeps Illinois and going and air at 32 every other man that's a really unfortunate situation they you know losing their quarterback. There you know obviously hopeful hopeless in the division but you just use January game -- nuts and and not winning this."
[1:16:38]" Happy about tough that must be to go to work for those guys -- how tough that really used to give up and you're going. I mean you you just you literally have to put on the horse blinders I think and try to ignore everything which means including radio TV Internet ever all all of -- because as you know we could focus on trying to do as you just said winning games in you haven't had that kind of a problem here and talk to these guys because right now. This team is is in the extreme self confident mode. So let me ask you because you know you guys obviously once the locker room and in -- the one you know interviewing these players on the show -- but you know do you sense. Overconfidence do you sense complacency how do you sense anything like that at all."
[1:17:19]" Not overconfident not by any means I think they're having fun and they're enjoying it. And it's another aspect when you're winning and as opposed its net and losing it probably remains just job didn't work everyday habit. These guys could athletes and other having great time in network card and there's a reason why they're winning but I don't think they're confident now I mean especially double. Humble pie and yeah on an on line that was pretty cool would score."
[1:17:45]" It's a great concept and you know I think they're still they still have that. You know core group of veterans and obvious a year by year you'll lose some from whether it's of Willie mcginnis and you know guys like Japanese still have this group of guys who have been here. Not just during these three Super Bowl years but some of the more years as well you know Bruschi you know Troy brown that -- around for some pretty bad years you know maybe not that to a fifth two with 14 years in the early -- but some non playoff year so I think they have the perspective of both you know both sides it but you know you mentioned you know they did the dolphins they come to work everyday and I've been lucky enough that I start covering this team a couple weeks before the 2003 season. I've had some -- I've never seen a team start out on five and look at what their demeanor is and not you know hopefully I don't actually listed to do that but. On I think there's some you know the expectations here hide. But they really stick with that let's -- last week as they were right get ready for Cleveland if anyone asked them -- you know you know showdown -- with the cowboys coming up now. The next games Cleveland as they focused on in the humble pie you know story line last week."
[1:18:51]" Just epitomized that I think if you thought that also on the game this last weekend because and other in my initial reaction was of the game is -- you know one I've. Didn't play that well part of the patriots in particular and now but I had a couple days let it. Kind of sentenced to. I think I'm more quality -- more credit to Cleveland and Romeo in particular I think Cleveland's offense is pretty good I think they -- Jamal Lewis but I do believe they would have liked to had had his. Capabilities in the backfield where they can keep the ball away from the patriots offensively a little bit let him Pamela Lee at one carry 11 yards and in the saudis out what was an ankle against right I think so so I mean I'm. That was a weapon they didn't have their disposal but about the way that they kind of went about scheme of things I think we have to kind of give them some credit so. Was it more so Cleveland or was it maybe the patriots just not. You know playing up to snuff when you think."
[1:19:42]" Well it's certainly all relative when it comes to the patriots you know patriots played morally but you know 31 other teams would love to play this portly. And went and double up on the other team. -- I give Cleveland a lot of credit I think that date you know -- they they played tough day they were you know they they thought they -- they did a good job let's face it they're you know. Their quarterback is he's not a rookie but this is really his first opportunity and -- patriots defensive Bill Belichick defense. Feasts typically on on on a quarterback like this and when he didn't have the advantage of of a strong running game you know that certainly hurt and they did they throw -- interceptions but. You know. You know there're there are fighting clawing to the end and am I'm not surprised by that I'm not surprised that Romeo Cornell team would be the one that would. Be the first wanted to give the patriots good fighters ten point game. On in the final minutes so you know I think. I think you know that the patriots of the they came off a Monday night road game and maybe there's a little something to say about that no granted they started off the game. Fairly well -- drove down so I don't think they came out rusty by any means but opposite joke but you don't want those first plays are scripted for the most for it was a script."
[1:20:48]" Right so they kind of knew what was common and could see them kind of settling back and build an hour and two of them come along all mode in. I could see where that can be a little bit of difference which is also why I think they should do pretty well balanced because Dallas is that the short work week this week's -- but it what did you think -- in terms of book comparing what you saw with that team on the field this last week and which saw the previous"
[1:21:10]" simply I mean the players and a lot of mistakes that were made and it goes on with the staying humble thing they're going to be the first ones to call themselves out you know they had. A bad play here -- and they even said you know by no means was it a big game there's still a big way in which is phenomenal to think that a team can have a you know an off day and still win by. At that point now so they they will deathly be the first say they had plenty of mistakes but also -- say known as press conference yesterday that. Cleveland definitely you know figured some things now and he and gave them -- more challenged them."
[1:21:43]" They were the first ones to. What a little more into stopping Randy moss that's true and they did a decent job of that but as Romeo Cornell sadness and the other players said. You know. If you don't die by remarks that I some pick your poison and your poison essentially. Well we'd see where it would have been a lot worse had done this though that it will hold on a couple ovals yet and yet agree you know a touchdown. It was exactly a scripted play like that -- want to go at it's important is that I was showdown tolerant I'm Grady little hurt on the air like India or it. Lucky apparently did you guys hear that I didn't but he apparently had Nigeria -- Play it. Areas that are the hot shots. Well that's that's the stunner. Look important yes -- or denied that he did them but I just unheard of for the first time -- I didn't hear Johnson. I don't like that's not like that who the heck out at a bad. Apparently -- his partner Bryant Gumbel last year I think at a similar incident and -- I didn't realize that it actually was you know some remote microphone elsewhere -- that -- or actually it was kind of funny you know you go to pro football talk constant I'm going as a life and there was. I think Mike Florio of pro football like like I'm actually spoke your or yes weather here speaking to him just about this or not I'm not sure but. He quoted him on this incident -- and -- he -- I'm offended that you would think it's me on the former offensive -- your insulting offensive -- anywhere to think that my belt would be that we that you if you like. Clearly if I'm sitting this close the microphone I'm insulted that you'd think -- and it didn't make it now they have a he can you know get some of that everybody's got talked about the I carting I should -- solaris laughter Allen had a that was that one but."
[1:23:36]" Yeah what was the goal is outward to talk about oh Rea idea except you choke off. Yeah exactly. Although he could just sucked I'm Minnesota right there and then you could belch like -- caught -- with them go they go okay mom. Well look good then -- kind of before you have to go -- in the back to -- kind of figure out then where you're going with the program for -- what's coming up tonight this week you do anything specialty what kind of things do you look for do you have a list of -- gives a little bit of of an idea what it is that you look for when you get -- produced -- to --"
[1:24:11]" Okay yeah I definitely do I think. Usually a line let's let's go with tomorrow we went back to the practice field Wednesday yeah back in the locker room you know the usual tearing up -- glittering page to the next opponent coming up which is cowboys so should be interesting week on Rochelle. We usually have John -- and around in the week only for home games now but he gives some good perspective. On the team and everything and then we have Prioleau and again to -- at his lowdown you know an interesting factor whatever the case may be. Around Friday and we always keep the -- Whatever weather report I can actually run that I like whether and 1 of our I am a meteorologist we honest answer."
[1:24:52]" I absolutely. One of our favorite features as each day when Kristi and I sit down and and -- we teach we do sit down chat a little little little lucky that I like yeah -- but you know now -- That that parts of best -- but yeah but -- you know you know Monday's obviously it's all about the the previous game it's -- you know cover an -- home and away you know or on the road and you know obviously it on games and you know in the locker room -- that and you'll -- a lot of fun and Christina especially with some of the features and you've already been out and some of these are also with some the other program do patriots all access but. -- you know and the -- was I would Junior Seau in San Diego and large growing saint Louis let's cool yeah guys you know."
[1:25:36]" But great trips yet actually it's my first couple weeks I have here and I jumped on a plane and took it again summer offseason at great. Political winner that's an okay steady diet and yes I'm -- 24 hour that we're out there and back but it was really close a great story it's been on it was on -- which I think last week -- Allen -- check out what he's he's in great players to take historians don't practice and do some more things like that. Abramson definitely and with the holidays coming up we're going to covered you know try to cover all the stuff that the that the players in the community. They do a lot of things on the outside of -- at all and I think that's something that fans really appreciates that we try to add on there. And today I think we started making -- line and vote more at the top play of the week just a bit more interactive staff. Going to watch highlights behalf from all the teams as we do. -- everything cover everything -- on a lot of fun there's a lot of but they look for and against the Dallas at this weekend's should be. Pretty --"
[1:26:39]" You travel. I was with the team tonight child now you do still I do yeah right on your country going John -- countries as we can't go to Fort Worth for the barbecue with only actually you know do whatever you can go to Fort Worth Dallas sucks yet. -- particular four. We have go to the cattlemen go to the it's not they'll just just just wanted to go to the stockyards."
[1:27:02]" No it's not believe you me I could take you to the Fort Worth stockyards and you would be thanking me for the rest of your you know on earth earthly life. What I could show you -- doctors and forward to come with Boston I would love -- I would love to. Are you would beat you would drink and the sites are also pretty good figure that I -- it's all right -- what's -- to those. This site the sites that they -- the actual battle going to I streak right what you -- say hello. Now we are at the bottom line though is covering the -- and you know I think. You know we we it it's a comprehensive show. And the bottom line though is if you -- know what's going on the patriots in that particular day. Where to place to be you know that's the beauty of the way you can now wherever you're -- listening to -- anytime anywhere right that's right and we have fun with it and you know what's the most fun thing you do but the -- four what's the what's the most fun part of your job ideal world right now. -- been here very in the -- long but just recently that you really have enjoyed you really like look forward new rule now I think Bryant are --"
[1:28:10]" Top it's good that our. Well first -- discovering such. And Greek team you know winning -- and so that's a lot of scientists energy is there at the players at the energy you know here -- to say about it and just. You know. The stories that we tell I think a lot of fun -- Where players grew up in his hometown are what they did you know serving kids in the community and with the two opposite field I think it's important aspects of I appreciate bringing back to fame aunts and you know. The cover of football play yet to really add extra perspective I think it's cool that."
[1:28:47]" that just gets lost a lot of time and I know that you know. So much negativity does come out with something bad happens but -- other people that that really want to know. What the good story you know talk about the good stories enough on the it's on the advantages we have here. And with you know you know your program an analyst of the either on Comcast especially that you have a chance to spend some time on these things with these stories that. Maybe the TV station down the street the rate or the newspaper don't always pick up on that positive yet when you try to and plus the fact is is that you know. The cycle isn't all about you know negative things going on there also good things but -- on all the negativity sells it always does and that's just you know what. But you have to include some of the other to make you appreciated at the right."
[1:29:29]" No there's no question about that you know fortunately -- fortunately around here there's there's not a lot of obvious in the football size -- one negative right now it is not you know we've we eulogized you do is the other NFL teams like while one thing after the other with the off off the field stuff and fortunately there hadn't been on those around here I don't know yet but -- for the most part it's it's pretty pretty solid he'd come. You got a an email from a fan in Orlando I -- all there's definitely value. Plastic here Jimmy in Orlando says hey look at this good looks in a patriots Gator fan one more kidding as for I thought I was the only one -- about -- well she's hot too. Thank you -- a little time with us -- answer -- we -- comeback -- definitely solution -- college football I would be -- I would -- to talk about the virtues of the SEC versus the -- dwell more on getting that -- that conversation -- aren't what -- Christina -- it's never never -- and."

[1:31:23]" Hey this whole -- or John -- let me tell you about the first ever game would you grade and year waterworld former football players talk about when we're watching the game -- you can find out for yourself at first -- game -- grades on October 14 at Gillette stadium -- the patriots take on the cowboys fidelity investments clubhouse along with me. [1:34:17]" Did the patriots playbook your compatriot dot com radio and developed it coming up at ten minutes for him with thanks to Christine Akron for joining it was quite well how old Brian Lois. Get this when you don't lose the theme song. And poetry. That we play this game on Tuesday yeah I remember we. It said. Relatives sit that I three words. The outfield. -- fox show yeah. I'm sure I'm familiar with the show but. Telling given email us have a before really -- this is the first plane -- for that we played it today you know the name of this theme song email us. Web radio at patriots dot com wanted to make fun of Brian -- and you can make fun of below average you know in his first in his class and his relative youth."
[1:35:16]" Just -- point. Well then you should remember this hero and I remember this sure I remember -- a similar shot just don't. But the theme song -- the it was about that was his 20 years ago with a 20 years ago and I and I wasn't watching cop shows are yelling in my note oh here we go."
[1:35:44]" Yeah -- out 20 yeah exactly you have to so you know we were talking about down. The cowboys game last night watching the end of -- the -- that -- I was actually going back and forth with what's in the Cleveland New -- game and then. -- the cowboys were down by you know seven they were down like 1077 term Baghdad -- nine and then in his you know it was 2413. My check tonight and it's all right I guess you know and I've just seen that Romo had thrown his fifth pick of the day it responsible for six turnovers. Someday you'll like this isn't spotted in the cards but although. Primarily I knew that it was buffalo and I turned it back on last night just in time right before they scored the touchdown. It's I -- what the last -- 30 seconds of the game."
[1:36:33]" Yeah the last point three seconds of a of the game walking while -- right what its way it was just such an improbable wave a team that is. If buffalo was not going to be able to win that game. That you really feel that when they dominated defensively and special teams wise. Their offense didn't do much but you know you get Nixon team's return to -- for touchdowns -- another one another -- Kickoff return for a touchdown and temple out in the I just enjoyed watch in the the reaction shot -- two owners. That was enjoyable Jerry Jones or -- Wilson I -- Jones -- went on the right and game we want. I won the bleeping game usually he's on the field that was. Most of the clause you know but you know actually I think you usually only down on the field when they're when they're anybody's when thinkin' that you is that kind of guy and it that there lose in the game down there. You know how about the first my -- poignant moment 13 years. And guys you know -- they start out so strong to winning the game the entire time in exciting exciting game against an undefeated team. And then jets dagger in the heart. By the twice by the way three email -- come right up with a here today. Hill Street Blues -- And though that was -- Jason and I will make economy Fernando did yes yes and Jason dallas' the cartoon with Pittsburgh so hot."
[1:37:55]" If this is over there were huge option -- the aids -- him but I wouldn't watch cops shows on come on you know about it. I told them where the show like I wasn't watching cops -- an east. And there's a 14 -- Hill Street -- The league -- It just goes to show you how many older people we have an obvious that that's right -- you have to be altered notices ideally it's -- 12 years old at this point. You need to be delighted so -- in terms of you know being able to you know be resilient you win a game like that after turn the ball -- many times as you have and coming off although although a short work week viewing this benefit the patriots anyway coming up next on I was."
[1:38:35]" you know as a watch that game and on you know as the game is progressing am thinking -- is a pretty good chance the cowboys ago Alou was on thinking wow from the pitcher's perspective. I can't be good thing I mean the cowboys you know. Notes he wants to lose it -- team wants to lose twice a -- when you'll lose on Monday Night Football in that kind away when it was you know mostly -- you know. You'll lost because it turn overs as opposed to just two teams just playing equal I was thinking this this could you know could be trouble for the patriots now -- think -- that -- it still could be trouble for the patriots because. The cowboys is riding that wave -- for the most Becky in the air you know. You know there they're cutting down the dogs and then at the end there -- wheat fields going not the whole team going nuts and rightfully so. Ellen and their prices sky high as their client hall and their pride is eager to get right back into it back on the practice field tomorrow. On you know it's hard to say really how much momentum plays a part and he you know week to week NFL lot scenario but. I think I think he'll be riding high enacting -- now thinking wow we got through those are the kinds of games you attack that's how we made it through that wanted to -- a big one for us and I think it's an interesting an interesting question I don't know what what it's going to mean but I think he could be it could mean at the cowboys are right."
[1:39:50]" Pretty well I think also that you know the fact that the cowboys are going to be five you know and there's only three teams -- them beat -- that will certainly catch attention them hallway and I think patrons -- respect that fact the fact is that going on the road they're playing a team that is a very -- fans -- they'll know -- say they did struggle -- and they still managed to win the games -- that. Is step that you sort of need to consider here you know and and and and not take for granted I would assume."
[1:40:14]" And I don't think they're going to be taking you know teams for granted whether they're five an hour or -- five but. -- you know I I think that. You know when you think about you know being on and on big NFL stage and you know we're we're getting we're moving along through the season and there are all that many on the exit. There's definitely some some pride on the line of of you know it's hard. You know the continuing the rank of the unbeaten in. You know Tom Brady ethnic and said okay. You know you know these players don't like the focus on the record it like that but -- was like five on -- it's pretty good to be much better and that is when the season in any frightened you know I think knowing that they have this game you know against unbeaten potentially couple weeks now in the with the Indianapolis and that things will start -- battle of the more. On they'll be some of that undefeated -- marcher do you have any concerns at all over the performance against Cleveland. Well I mean sure I mean -- picks well well until I see certain things become a week to week friend I mean certainly we can. Nitpick but I don't I don't think it's going to be some really worry about it in their third down offense was was pretty important for well over 12 -- the previous week there or what. Seven for 12 or -- like that if we see 234 consecutive weeks of really having trouble on third down are finding themselves in third lawns. You know that'll -- there's there's something worry about here you know. I I think you know I I think offensively they're able to you know sort of -- okay large Maroney is implying you know. Mark stepped right it if if Randy moss is being shut down our Donte' Stallworth and watch we're gonna find them. On you know. I don't think there's much to worry about from a trend standpoint like that's that's where I would be concerned we start seeing transport you know. There there's not a lot you can pick your minutes they're still keeping. You know they're keeping their turnovers down offensively this -- it's unbelievable I mean I was looking yesterday they have a combined. Five interceptions -- a combined five it's one game when you think about if you go to a game you'll have one interception -- two -- three times a pretty good game. But -- hole through five games and Indianapolis actually has the same amount you know so -- you keep your quarterback -- your your forcing turnovers defensively in your containing teams and special teams no earring holes anywhere. I don't think there's too much idea February that was it was it a real efficient -- performance -- they didn't look all that good in the process and you know Cleveland might be you know sort of a surprise team but. There's no -- here today. To be -- about this right. Aren't what you missed -- to get a little but rundown on the patriots today yeah the focus today a little bit about a war you know about Randy moss sorted Cleveland being able that. Keep some extra eyes on him eyes and feed on him and allowing you know -- that you wide open a few times but that's the Donte' Stallworth and we just sort of look at -- that dynamic which for the first time on you'll -- you must did not have a huge break out you know you know jaw dropping performance -- the patriots offense was still able to -- performed pretty well some kind of focusing on that and also you know talk a -- Perot is retiring Christina. -- a few other aspects of the game Junior -- Tedy Bruschi you know sort of platoon situation one way to put and they both had done pretty solid games as well and you know in and it just kinda started. Turn towards the cowboys because I think it can be -- couple days of -- in this one -- know some weeks -- Before you -- always folks on the patriots some weeks I liked it really keep an -- and the opposing team. You know website the opposing team newspaper coverage on that this is one of those weeks from the -- jets at love reading the New York papers. This this particular week I'm really eager to -- with the cowboys perspective as this is that we -- some of the cap which players are -- about the matchup in the Dallas morning news or star telegram eagles on excited about about about these next couple days and covered nieminen definitely set -- the team this is definitely a game to circles going to be good. And we'll have to find you good restaurant -- please don't we get off the show real -- you know you'll give me the -- guidebook for worst thanks to be alone Christina Accra for joining us what to get back on the -- absolutely. Well that's it. -- patriots head coach Joe Bill Belichick upcoming we'll have same bat time same bat channel right here in playbook for tomorrow."
[1:44:35]" Up a look at the that look at it again this morning I think it is pretty this."
[1:44:43]" That what what we saw yesterday it was. Validate on the film we certainly had a lot of problems of some of the things that the browns did -- medically. And that is about good job you know game plan -- was created several problems force they got a lot of good players. And create some match -- that we have trouble with you know fortunately we're going to make enough plays turnovers are big part of it two. You know the evidence that come out more points in native of those big -- we had a fourth quarter. We had a lot of time possession of fourth -- prevalent kind of regain control the game from a score standpoint you know from a competitive standpoint you know without the turnovers it was you know obviously. Very competitive with both -- and there they're sure -- is this exit both -- given up so but fortunately we're able you know those turnovers and not give the ball away that ultimately -- difference in the game. And a personal look at it and else we know. Kind of football team they have and they're very good at everything and have been big challenge -- gone down -- you know compete with the cowboys there it is they're doing an outstanding that's a pretty much everything. Them tapes about scenes or that your. That's worth it. Obviously going. Well take a look at -- it -- these guys. It too much house with. Cancer and a don't bother me reminding him mess that's -- it's a lot of people on the screen usually is just you know -- it is and a coaching standpoint it was news it overall. You know scheme of plan. You know who's where and that's just you know -- that it."
[1:46:56]" You don't of those specials and coverage use it against cramps it was standing almost ten yards below is an average kickoff return."
[1:47:04]" We had our moments of their couple recovered pretty well. -- that we didn't believe that we can do better job they're good they're good about it. I thought at times we are okay at other times. That's -- good."
[1:47:21]" Gina Andre and send me in Amherst -- quarterback."
[1:47:29]" I mean I think it is that we know that we're walker but he's still. It's good player."
[1:47:41]" What does it all -- that you guys so good so fast."
[1:47:47]" I don't know we've we've never played him so. Wallace argues in our division or -- it was a regular competitor -- you know last time we played him he was the quarterback. I don't really know can. You know trace the history as the ultimate. So forth you know which is not that familiar with the that that fantasy team you know Clement or three years. But he's very athletic he's you know as a playmaker. Finds ways to get the ball and also receivers go play action is very mobile. He's very competitive stuff couldn't. I think -- very accurate down field sees field well I think he's good player that is -- don't feel good about. I don't know about his history because there that wasn't there for more involved and you know part and it. Imagine he's on your priority yeah -- All are you know -- you know offensively most physical offensive line -- have seen a long time. Tight -- are good backs are good receivers are good quarterbacks and everybody's good. Good on defense in the kicking game well coached they're tough physical. Explosive as fast as strong they've. That good football."
[1:49:20]" I think Clijsters or make -- in terms of throwing."
[1:49:25]" Many needs it against an errant throw that gets washed out it and they can close out night. He does -- yesterday. I don't think he runs unnecessarily thank -- rounds money. -- it feels pressure on some forces now but that doesn't it stand throw."
[1:49:50]" Look at yesterday's game. What happened an alumnus yeah -- can't -- and it's very common sense when he Sosa -- down. What's your match my match"
[1:50:03]" we've we have a lot of people on ones -- This thing. -- and try and block the way you want one."
[1:50:14]" Right things could rare for someone his size get a feel untouched. We'll."
[1:50:23]" Yeah I'm am sure that there was somebody somewhere is this week out once or summit at stake. You know when you walk people on the line of scrimmage and he got to make a decision offensively is to clear -- and and we are not sometimes immediately available guessing game could be communication issue. That's sillier rules are there others sometimes grayer in the world what what the defense goes so. -- exactly. But there are a lot of people of their zone. Somebody it's probably -- miscommunication or somebody miss identified look"
[1:51:10]" chances are coming from I'm running almost ran into the Rangers"
[1:51:19]" well they brought it isn't good things that -- seen him. -- or bonds about the whole team. Here the last government at least there was some things are Broken Arrow things that everybody could could use some improvement. Starting with -- coaches always now than -- play things that we can do better collectively as a team certainly includes me in the playoffs but in the back court."
[1:51:51]" Very veteran guy exists veterans as smart guy. -- me a little easier things come back after Louise you know without action. -- going to -- any difference."
[1:52:09]" That was available we have them the throughout the season the situation that he's an he's working hard to be ready to go dusty -- So it's that's really all -- and a I don't think he's going to jump over well -- somebody hasn't been here for four -- in the same position somebody who's been here. For four weeks of practice every day and played in the games and I don't mean just just just not the same. But it's nothing against anybody -- just the way it is."
[1:52:42]" You don't want to tennis that's it looks like he was -- darling -- coverage in hand I'm real happy with the quarterback is that. Does he have an -- man slamming even if he's postgame coverage. So war. Does that -- moment in time"
[1:53:02]" well usually what. You know that the defensive player as an offensive player and a man coverage then. There's basically two things he can do that player walks one would be to rush the quarterback this thing back then. And -- coverage lanes on on the defensive side of the ball so. Those basically -- two options wonderment and coverage."
[1:53:24]" Please read them."
[1:53:32]" Again that's that's what else would do. It's got got a man to man -- can either -- the -- blocks you can follow that line of scrimmage and you know negative automated I don't or -- can back often. Get as much help as he can somebody else but he still responsible for -- player man in the hands of the checks out later that screeners of like that things those don't count form and in its just. Can't really just go run and double somebody else. About it because like I eventually gets out that you have nobody on so that's. That's pretty much what every in every man to man coverage that's what every team has that aside. Each player has the decides -- central players are all -- a couple of."
[1:54:23]" Both are good job. --"
[1:54:29]" comfortable its first came back."
[1:54:33]" Iguodala the penalty but you know thoughts did a solid job to. But overall offensive wander pretty good we have kind of program all of credit wasn't perfect. -- it wasn't. Wasn't you know bad. Court but it didn't didn't get total -- We have made some parents that are running game we should have made more. Certainly had more opportunities make plays in the passing game that we didn't make for one reason or another but. The overall wasn't a decent job on the offensive line. Your team to -- attack you know his. Did you what is the difference the Colorado. You know."
[1:55:19]" Between those right instruments -- I don't think they've changed their place I don't think. But the formations that there was a fundamental changes you know he he's in a game all passing situations anyway like Jessica. And Loretta caught he part would have been there anyway the -- game plan. You know we've played almost -- replays of something done so. I think that he probably would have been in there for a lot of those plays as the pack anyway it maybe not all of you know -- feel. So we we really change much in terms of game plan hearing things what we. Had to do was be more aware of this kind of loose play. Speed on balance out plays things like that not to lose business either bounce it out just Mormon downhill runner. Cutback runs bounce problems you know of them or all of them passing game isn't there again doesn't it that you guys we've prepared for anyway."
[1:56:20]" the situation. Yes he did very very similar."
[1:56:26]" I don't think Watson and writers in -- and Rudy and -- both similar terms it downhill power runners."
[1:56:42]" I don't like to look past. The Super Bowl against the eagles. When TO how much your mind that how much you respect them when Tim on one leg basically mentioned last night"
[1:56:57]" federalism authority had a very hand. They've got a lot of trouble but it is very very him."
[1:57:09]" buildup to that game you know wasn't going to be okay my bad leg."
[1:57:16]" Yeah if he'd be an outstanding game I have that we've all seen him do that before so wasn't. But remember seeing him run fast break tackles. You know get inside inside leverage coverages and stuff like that we've we've seen -- He just hadn't done it and want quality came back did very well in the superbowl. So we've seen doing it again so I'll do it in. That's a style plays he's very good teams -- friends -- stuff underneath he breaks a lot of tackles strong physical as fast. I'll think there's really anything new there it's just."
[1:57:59]" It's our got a handle. Of course don't. You know -- it has coached. It four. -- some but you know I think he's a very teams -- well disciplined fundamentally sound at all. Necessarily run the most exotic things but what they do they do well -- very good physical. You know it certainly a lot of his defense last year in San Diego and through the years you know if buffalo or Denver. Yeah yeah. I think that's consistent you know peace. He's got his style of play and it's. They're tough they're physical they're sound don't give him RG got to earn it and he got -- you gotta get open. I don't them blow up make a lot of mistakes and -- a lot of easy place you know -- purple which you have."
