[0:00]" Let's go let's go let's go follow another golf -- want to go bought by that they've won here excuse patriots plate we'll go back. When he got left Sunday's game ballot ever man coverage and it don't. Thank -- on the seventh round next of these gatorade for the break back do okay we'll get them on on the third floor. Braves even. Great for the rest of the 2000 and it yeah go ahead and handed him because of the the top and some of the points stuff in between."
[0:41]" We're -- It into the hill on patriots play book today we walked into the program. My name -- John -- web radio -- patriots dot com is the email address. What you knew that already but we figure would remind you anyway because after all we realize that you know -- You probably don't have that take your computer terminal web radio at patriots dot com telephone number is 5854374825 wait 5437482 I have to imagine that the have to be at least a few cowboys fans listening. Just because of the unique nature of this program in effect that this this this team in this website you know. Churn out radio programming every day new content every day. It's got to listening to the patriots football weekly guys in their daily program and you know now we also bring a little extra perspective to it I heard on the local radio when Boston earlier today and several Palestinians listening to -- WEEI -- yeah -- homer radio actually thought that was kind of funny like of the ticket in Dallas isn't homer radio please. Everybody anywhere it would be homer radio when it comes to playing against the opposition. Even here dislike you know Paul an Indy like the laugh about I mean I know that they'd like to think of themselves journalists and I think that they are. And I like to think of myself as being somewhat down the middle of the road because we do call things here at least in this particular program the column as best as we -- that. Would we like the patriots to win sure makes our job easier. But isn't life or death not really. Not really not at all on me you know what we -- like for the patriots to win attitudes are better around. Guys are easier to talk to replace a little bit of -- in all hop skip and a jump in their step every day I mean it's sure it's better. You know but if you look at it from a purely talk radio or discussion point of view well you know sometimes we all know at least here in New England that the misery loves company. You know what are Rick pitino once they negativity in this town sucks well it's true but it also is grateful radio. People love to complain of people to bitch and people love to you know -- their gripes that's what talk radio was all about I spent. Quite a bit of time last night because they -- teach journalism at Emerson College in Boston in it's been quite evident that part of a class about that very subject last night. You know negativity sells that's what talk radio is was was was based was talk -- it was it was negativity and having the ability to complain in. Having somebody listen to your complaint. So I would ask you win is this not be you know homer radio it's all homer radio there's nothing biased about this. All we try to do here is present the facts do we think the patriots went well based on what we've seen thus far this week to five weeks. You'd have to say sure absolutely. But that doesn't mean that the cowboys won't win the game it doesn't mean the patriots will win the game. All this is based on. Everyday to this point in time when you put the two teams side by side the cut the -- the the patriots do rate any slight favorite normally the spread as I looked at this morning with four and a half points I think that's about right. You know when you consider home field advantage in its worth you know anywhere from three to six points. What you it's closer three point than he could see this game was put in Foxboro the -- to be about a touchdown favorite which again would be about eight. You know and that's -- the all the respect the cowboys who really if -- cowboy fan or pure fan from another team and you listen to our program and Percival were glad to have you yes this is patriots you know no radio but at the same time I welcome input in and we all welcome input we welcome emails and discussion an opinion from anybody around the league and if you really want to took -- your team great go right ahead to the way. You know just it. Back up your opinion with fact. That's all you need to do have some courage of your convictions. Tell us why specifically you think. Your team is this through better if you're cowboys -- a particular why you think cowboys should rated favorite why you think the cowboys will win this game. And I kind of brings me to my subject commander for the day because I'm sitting here. Look at all the hype already have been watching some you know -- and today and ESPN news and you know clicking on NFL network in in in all the height between you know these 25 an old team certainly is already begun and rightfully so you've got three teams. In the NFL now. Or five you know. Two of them reside in the AFC in the patriots in the in the opening Super Bowl champion colts and you but the cowboys have five -- all of the NFC in -- it's a maybe a shaky five a no based on what you saw them do this past Monday night just a couple of days ago at the Buffalo Bills. I even cowboy -- you know starting -- events have to admit that and it and let me preface once again by saying if -- new -- a relative newcomer to this program. If you haven't listened. It to the show more to me over much of the last seven years or so that we've been on the air with -- program here. That you don't know that I grew up a -- thing. You don't know that I've I'm born and raised in Texas in my group in Fort Worth the Dallas Cowboys were in my backyard. And the new stadium that they're building now in Arlington, Texas is literally five minutes or what paperwork it's been quite a bit of my time before I left for college at the University of Texas. So and I've been to Texas stadium many times. And can remember the days of you know Eddie Le baron at quarterback. Much less Don Meredith or Craig Morton Rogers Starbucks -- I do go back aways with the Dallas Cowboys. You know in unfortunate consider a guy like brad -- was the longtime -- the cowboys a friend in this industry so I go way back with the cowboys. And I mentioned I think it was Tuesday. We're going to mention late last week and which ones that you know you might think that because of you know how like -- up in my loyalty and fact that it was a cowboy fan for a number of years and really I still -- Are really haven't given that up I've never been a fan of Jerry Jones certainly was never a fan of Barry switzer when he came -- to coach the team but you know like you said we all root for laundry. Especially more so in this -- so I've never stopped rooting for the cowboys silvery blue. I just don't root for some of the individuals and fault. But yes I was a fan of you know you know the triplets you know in -- Troy -- heyday -- Emmitt Smith Michael Irvin -- who could not be that was a power -- And of course that was the last dynasty you know in the NFL prior to a we have currently with the patriots. And I still root for the cowboys in you might think that I am I would be conflicted somewhat. With this weekend's game. But you know actually it it really is actually easy for me to decipher while I'm a fan of the cowboys I'm I would for the patriots. So like I've already said it's the little easier. For everybody when the patriots win. But it doesn't mean that it's life or death and we'll come right back up next a next week with more programming and in present both sides of the story we'll get ready for the next game just like the team. You know out on the field right now is doing as -- you know practice and prepare you know for the cowboys this Sunday. So what are kinda like for you to do -- consider all this and the hype there's already begun. And you know I'm I'm me read in the stuff on line in them look at it. -- all of the newspaper articles and I and I am looking at all the -- in the beginning you know that the TV reports it -- got through watching -- ESPN with Ed -- in Dallas and in -- Knicks covered the patriots in Foxboro and you know talking about how this thing is beginning to build up a little bit between 25 of them teams and and I understand all the hype but I think what -- to realize that both of these teams have ten games left after this week is over. One of these two teams is going to be five in -- it's just the fact of the matter neither team wants to be that team but the season is far from over for the losing team the only thing this week he's going to prove is that. One team. In this little moment this little snapshot at time is going to be a little bit better than the other and it doesn't mean that this team was still be better if both are fortunate to reach the Super Bowl and faced each other again in February. It's just a little snapshot here. And one team's gonna have a slight edge maybe one team. The winner will be the number one team and the power rankings whatever that -- of course we know every website in in in and it's dog you know has a power ranking up. For what that's worth will realize that it's not worth much is just creates conversation and gets people talking and it may be stirs up a little interest but other than that not much -- not really worth anything -- a bowl bid is on the line right. So or would you consider that the hype -- already begun to get to these five little team what I want you to do formally today. Take a look at these rosters I want you to tell me what you think the difference in this game is going to lie. What is the one matchup. On the football field this Sunday in and I and I and I ask this question because. I respect view is as close followers of the patriots in of your cowboy fan you obviously know your team better than any patriot -- is going to know the Dallas Cowboys. So I want you to look at these two teams I want you'd find a match up that you or shorten. You are certain. -- team has a definitive it. Find a matchup that you think your team has a definitive edge in for Sunday. But patriots fans it is you you probably got several what you can choose from I I don't want several I want one. -- what one match up that you know the patriots will win. On Sunday. And of your cowboy fan I want you to look at you know where you'd think the cowboys -- strongest and where you know the cowboys have an edge. Matchup wise over the patriots. And that's what I want you to send -- web radio at patriots dot com. Web radio -- patriots dot -- that's the email address and a get the telephone number viewer call in today you can do so 585437482. That's the number and we'll take calls coming of the program we're going to hear from patriots coach Bill Belichick from just short while ago at Gillette stadium Munro with members of the patriots media and we got a lot of locker -- stuff to get -- for you today fancy going to be happy with this 12345678 different players we manage to talk to -- inside the patriots locker room today we're going to get their thoughts and you're going to hear. Their thoughts first hand on them. The matchup of the Dallas Cowboys coming up on Sunday. -- the list whip Tom Brady Mike Vrabel Roosevelt Colvin. Ellis Hobbs we have Rodney Harrison Sammy -- Wes Welker in Donte' Stallworth. So we're gonna go inside the locker room give you huge uncle. A book book patriot locker room this afternoon in the second our our program we will hear from Dallas Cowboys head coach wade Phillips in his conference call conversation with members of the patriots media and for cowboy fans that might be a bit of a treat for you simple because some. You get a different perspective on how New England fans in New England media more specifically. Are approaching this game as opposed to what you hear in your neck of the woods from those who cover the Dallas Cowboys. Always like here in the other media. Because they sort of they're not so close to a story that they can't see the trees Sunderland were too close to stories and we don't see the obvious things that are out there. Just because we're used to it we cover it every week. So it's always I think you always get a fresher perspective when you hear the opposing team's media. Interview coach -- interview players so any time we have a chance to bring that to you we do so when every week as part of this program we bring -- those conference calls in their entirety. So not only been here the media and how they're approaching what we want to give you the full context. Of the question and the answer to that question -- can understand a little bit more focused you know in this age. This day major soundbites and only in 10152 you know clips sometimes you don't get the full understanding of what. He said. And that's the beauty of this program in the beauty of this program we can bring that we have so wade Phillips -- of the second -- we also hoped to get to that we don't get to a today. We'll get to a tomorrow. Also built to get a cab was quarterback Tony Romo in his comfort cult members of the patriots media earlier today so all of that is coming up on the agenda and let's go to the phones at 5 wait five or threesome worry -- Jason. Listening in from Florida today Jason or -- Gray jays what tournament."
[13:27]" Altered -- course harvick the obvious ones strawberry over so well applause I think it's what you -- I picked it out running game is there."
[13:41]" I -- let me turn this around just a little bit because while I don't necessarily disagree and I think Tony Romo. Is going to be a very very good quarterback he obviously struggled on Monday night but. Look look at this also from -- in offense versus defense match up rather than position by position. So if Tony Romo you know is considered a liability in your mind you know bid does the patriots say front seven do they favored you know are you favor them in that particular matchup."
[14:10]" I do court -- flavor you know these little -- you know ability to confuse them. I don't know if you saw -- all that I can imagine. The patriots that are you know there's arson -- it would do."
[14:24]" Well let's take let's take those seven or six turnovers out of the equation -- completely out of the equation pretend they didn't happen even though we know they did but take him out of the equation now and don't you see because what dallas' average offensively talk about the top two offensive teams now in the entire NFL -- five weeks in terms of not only yardage gain but also points scored. So can't you respectively CI think that the cowboys have some ability there."
[14:50]" I think you know until it but there -- also going up again it was sort of more decent and well you know I don't think it's. I don't going to -- quite as well I think you know. They do it Thomas have LT running back yet another game aren't also on the I think. I got secondary -- what they have got TO and it's you know. Look at 300 you know it's resist you want it I don't I don't think it's nearly cost him."
[15:24]" Well I'd have to coincide with a -- particular spread right now I think it again though if you could end up being closer if if the patriots credible reports they haven't really done that yet this year so but you can never say never because each week is a separate entity in different from any other week which is why don't -- can put a lot of stock in you know the cowboys and and and Tony Romo having. You know suffering from six turn over themselves this last week because they still won the football game. Granted it was buffalo they still want to -- so you know when you have two teams. That a matched up in relatively similar in a lot of ways on the same side of the football. It's basically going to bear down to which teams -- going to stand up better and if you if you playing a big eight field position game. Then you you're going to give you deepens a better chance to succeed so cowboys in the kicking game in which by the way my -- Jason four an edge for the cowboys would be in the kicking game at this stage of the game and in the probably a lot of patrons since that would agree if if the cowboys do take advantage of this perceived edge in the kicking game. Then who's to say that they can't keep the media the patriots on their heels -- a position wise and actually give the cowboys deep into which may be. Maybe the weaker link here it may give them a leg up in the back."
[16:38]" Aren't aren't as look at remained very helpful los or points right -- they're not going to all the page street. It's -- On the about a cooperative then that's just it's just knock outs and so you check all the respect not a game and I don't think -- was legal channels these it looked up paperwork critical matchup but if you watch the game -- in the context of not equals."
[17:07]" want you to this four minute. Once you give me a matchup that you think could be a toss up"
[17:15]" all like. -- artists you know I don't I tactic that rookie did you but I mean that's that's going got a little it was fuel from a Almonte a marked down on our ogletree Canada everyone else -- you know. I'm I'm are actually called watch as far as like in the ovals that spirit of you moved here. On you know as Spartan all the clutch I would say. They're the line is pretty good compared RD line. Blah blah I don't think their secondary -- I think you'll like oh it is in the program that's what Williams's -- severely overrated. And of course or improper about it. -- yeah."
[18:05]" I'll buy that I think that the cowboys defense is improving rapidly. I think they've got a little bit better each and every week I think last week in particular against buffalo oh we saw how quick they are from sideline to sideline they can get penetration. So once again the overall quickness I think could conceivably give the patriots some trouble but you have to like the way that the patriots offensive -- is certainly started out this. This year because the -- it what I believe it's the the offense is given up a combined to five turnovers in sacks 25 weeks -- negatives -- that that's all it is so you'd have to say it's pretty good start."
[18:43]" Yeah one -- but I just whatever else is that hard to get my reservation in Paris on."
[18:48]" not. Are you one of those days in the think 16 know."
[18:53]" Now all I do army I start I agreement but I don't look by you know what that means it's -- but it's impossible. But I look at Indy schedule I think it's possible for them well though."
[19:06]" Sure is. Yeah in fact I think more so than other -- the patriots have one of the toughest schedule we're still to go in the entire NFL if you look at the you know that the power rankings and you look at the combined won lost record of opponents and and everything else when -- considerate so I mean the fact that you know I realize it's fun to talk about it and it causes controversy in. Ever body you know gets old -- over talk about the stuff that makes for great media and in good stories but I mean let's face it it's going to be darn near impossible. And even whoever wins this game whether it's New England whether it's Dallas on Sunday. The survivor this game to go six and oh. Is still going to be Vick almost you don't near impossible. For them to do that to -- ten more weeks without a loss so you know could you just don't know what can happen week to week with the injuries or. Or anything else when teams play with a backs against the wall and and we mentioned this we -- this you know a couple of times over the last couple weeks since the conversation first started after I think like we do around here and the fact is is that you know the -- point -- 12 or 13 you know. You know you might have to think in and you're going up against teams that are really playing desperate to even get in the playoffs. You might see a scenario where did you know the pats. Don't necessarily put all of their their apples in the cart so to speak in particular some of the back of play a little bit the second half and you know hey if they lose they lose it but the Islamist home field advantage for the playoffs is clenched. Of the the going to lose too much sleep over lose in the gamer --"
[20:29]" I want to -- these schedule you know especially goat now and Andy. I think you know -- on knowledge as the rest of the dictate whether you know we're gonna you know have all started games and well obviously Thomas until right into the site experience anyway and work well once you want about."
[20:54]" What he's still scheduled to come back after weeks six he can he can. Anybody on the PUP in the physically unable to perform more the pup list as people call it is eligible to come back after weeks six I know he's been working out same as Troy brown. Other have been Troy brown sightings in the locker room but they're only eligible to come off after weeks six it would have to be after next week number one and then number two you have I think a two week exemption of which to decide what to do within you either. Activate him or you potentially put them on -- R for the rest of the year so we really have the rest of this week in all of next week before a decision has to be made."
[21:33]" Are all appreciated Jason thanks for take in the take the time to it was a -- It is final 85437482 that's the telephone number and no matter where you may believe listening. Where did your team have it over the other guy where -- your team excel where will your team dominate. Where will you take your team potentially win the game. She probably I'm still looked great last I saw him. Anyway we will be back inside the play book. -- we get to work patriots coach Bill Belichick -- emails. -- did makes news early today I'm sure that the U of W guys talked about this -- previous hour programming here for the -- did re signed once again Marcellus rivers today veteran tight end five and L'S_NFL. seasons he's been back and forth between the patriots active roster and the the practice squad this year was released again last week when Rodney Harrison was activated and then he was re signed again today. And that in order to make room for -- it was rivers -- released linebacker Chad brown so I can't say that. Any of that comes the surprise is pretty much a procedural move but. Rivers is back with the patriots today Chad brown is once again out so that's the latest roster moves made by the patriots -- early this afternoon in the meantime. I don't know if you noticed all the superlatives. You may have read them either hero on line or you may have read in the your favorite newspaper or you know enough fan board somewhere whenever you but I'd be remiss if I didn't at least touch on some highlights based on what this team has done -- to -- to five weeks some of the issue may already know some that you might not yet be aware wrote. But article itself because -- just doesn't happen all that often so when you get something like this and get a team roll like that you like to sort of get a sense of perspective. Where this team stands in terms of how really good they might be compared to the other teams in the league. First of all the pats have five straight wins -- yes -- 61. No way 6146. She still looks unbelievable I'm sure we've gotta relate -- Suzanne -- right now looking for the latest pictures right. Just like I did she still looks pretty doggone good for 61 come. She looked like she could pass for someone 40 maybe a little younger depending on day in the make up -- Ultimately I'm there I'm Tonya. You know what that's probably as good advertisement for the five master is anything out the fact that she still looked as good as he does at age 61. Goodness okay patriots have five straight wins by 17 or more points. And the Elias sports bureau reports this week the patriots or the fourth team in NFL history to win each of its first five games. By a margin of 17 points or more. The other team to achieve this feat with a 99 rams the 68 cowboys and the 1921 buffalo all Americans. The patriots hero of the fourth team in NFL history to do that which pretty cool they have won a team record fifth grade fifth straight game with a 100 yard receiver with Benjamin Watson having his first career hundred yard game 170 yards against the browns and Sunday. The makes five straight games on the patriots have -- what they've had a 100 yard receiver that is a new team record we -- with four straight games. On the -- quarterly this year in quick way back in 1975 but Rusch France's Randy -- Calhoun indeed Johnson each broke the Mark one time in a four game span. This is also the fifth straight game now in which the offense has scored 34 or more points. First time in team in franchise history the they have scored at least 30 points in as many as five consecutive games. Think about the numbers that's pretty good offenses over the years in New England in the first time that the that a team -- five straight games 341 more. Per game over that stretch. Sammy Morris with -- 102 yards on the ground and so on Sunday patriots have had three straight 100 yard rusher. And this the first time that they have had three straight hundred yard rusher since 1995 he believed that. Even when Corey Dillon in his first year here which we -- was extraordinarily it was a good and had almost 1700 yards regret he did have three straight 100 yard games. In that season. With the first time since 95 and 12 years the patriots have had a rusher go for a hundred yards or more in three straight games Tom Brady tied an NFL record. With three touchdowns against the browns so he is tied now the NFL record by throwing for three or more touchdowns in each of the season's first five games. The only other player in league history to do this with Steve young when he played for the 49ers in 1998. So we're -- nine seasons ago. He's got a chance against the best that he can throw for three against the cowboys and so on Sunday night or Sunday afternoon the scoring street by the way the once streak that did come to an end and this was the one that you might not be aware of calm because I haven't seen a published anywhere. But of the scoring streak when the patriots were shut out in the third quarter against Cleveland on Sunday a bomb that broke the streak of scoring in 37 consecutive quarters. Dating back to last season including all regular season in all playoff games. Patriots also had a streak of 18 consecutive quarters in which -- scored to start this season snapped. And that's the first time that someone has done that since the 2000 St. Louis Rams scored their first 24 quarters of the season. First six games. So the scoring streak of brought to a halt a 37 straight quarters before the it came up with a zilch in the third quarter against the browns on Sunday Junior Seau had a couple of interceptions we know the first time that he pick since 2002. First time also that -- at a multiple career reception multiple interception game since 1996 India years that he has been mentally Asante Samuel has had a pick now in three straight games. Hitting it deflected ball well from a that was Thomas in the first quarter against Derek Anderson on Sunday so he is now 12 interceptions in his last 14. Regular season and play our game so now but he sort of back in the fold after having his hold up throughout training camp. It would appear that it's -- annual is now beginning to pick right up where he left off last year. Which certainly be good for him I would say. The into the season since he can look at this in free agency in the room so. Anyway I wanted to make sure that you aware of those numbers without that there were significant enough not to mention again sort of set the barometer of where this patriot football team is currently operating. I mean there in uncharted territory in in certainly in patriots football history but very I mean even in recent NFL history. Nobody's done us in a while what they're doing on the field. And so now you can got to get the sense if you're looking at a from a cowboys perspective really kind of what you're up against. When the patriots to come and play sunny afternoon at Texas stadium. -- let's take a look at some emails on this and go from Warren in London England at this but it really said guys travel over the game for the you can from the UK for the browns game. Another win maybe that is great performance at least to win I have to say whoever chose the cheerleaders what do job. Some of them were amazing a great view from wrote three Indians on that you enjoy it more here's my gripe is someone traveled over the game from overseas about the pro shop would be a Mecca for all things patriot how wrong was side. No wonder flanders won't come on the show how could the club's main shop not stock. Tedy Bruschi book. -- the youth authority here. They should be embarrassed the range of goods available was for the shop the old stadium had more to offer -- to -- come I think all of tries somewhere else. Well let me -- and yeah. Let me see if I'm not going to make an excuse here because. Obviously don't work there but the pro shop that you're referring to his attempt. It's it's temporary shop because what you're going to do is -- going to bunt combine a new pro shop with a new -- Hall of Fame of I'm not mistaken right -- being built they're just outside the the north end zone with the tower and of the bridge are located material -- but the will be in new approach that's what I thought okay they're at least going to be in new approach I would balls with sort of a temper shop my guess is that. The probably the constant state of flux there. On what I would also suggest that you should have done oh Warren is go to some of the locker room souvenir stands located throughout the stadium. Because as some of them actually were pretty good selection things but I don't know about Tony's -- it could very will be that cities publisher. It's up to the publisher is not -- the patriots to go get something from Teddy -- the patriots are going to benefit from Tedy Bruschi book. Tedy Bruschi is going to benefit -- he Bruce he's booked into court whatever charity he is deemed you know you know to to have some of the proceeds here. So it's up to Teddy and it's up to his publisher. And maybe his agent but certainly is publisher to market the book and so unless they choose to put it in the patriot push -- the papers don't have any control over that. You probably didn't know that but that is true so at any rate he says it was great to see them win in here's to 16 you know thank you very much one exit but to me that he -- the boy you guys what you're worth. -- about all of us I hope Warren right. Talked -- decade cinema -- cinnamon email web radio patriots Kolb Ira you can -- the -- nice thank you. I appreciate that -- better than nothing. Better than nothing all right here we go let's go well we're back here to. Were backwards and the emails so. Give me two seconds to get this thing -- appear once again because it's acting a little slow today. Palm as I was talking about some of the superlatives that the patriots have kind of gone through could this be any slower. Well mine are -- Finally took the speed -- does love it when you computer whatever you you ask -- to do something or you're not asking abuse from the network at optimum speed and when you actually really needed to perform did takes its sweet time yeah here we -- patriot -- this one. He says that's in Dallas does anyone know the pats are going to be staying this weekend Dallas what the practice it was that it stated relate the its signature for players. Well unfortunately they don't make usually that public knowledge patriot man. Forehead almost that exact reason that you -- at the -- chances at the stadium prior to the game or after the game what have you. But part of the reason why they've they don't publish that because. Can it sometimes become a nuisance not that you're innocent semite but that's why they don't do so at any rate for what it's worth. Policy there's one comes from nick or no. Office's job okay race in from the on the heels of the melodies as. On the biggest pats fan at all Dallas I'll make it -- take you all out in the big -- show you the sites in UN return give me into the game it's not that that it what you think up for it. -- call have been limited Dallas for the past ten years in have not attended a pats game at ten years since our big run would give my right arm to see the boys in personal even by the barbecue. Well common Indian in Britain whomever can take advantage of that. I don't know -- in the game I hope John but I don't think that would count those desert cheaper than -- Okay Jackie in Dallas the thing that surprised me about the Dallas lost the bills. Loss about win was that -- of the game that the reason you know those interceptions was that he was confused by the -- the fans and the coverage and it wasn't able to adjust. Now that's true. Then they have some issues. Like one of the Dallas talking headset on Tuesday you'd never have Brady say this because the Pat's coaching staff prepares their team better. And the cowboys coach -- obviously prepared Roma interest. I hadn't heard that -- but I appreciate the the sentiment in the thought come from the Dallas media and you're actually right about that you'd never hear Tom Brady say. And you know maybe Tony Romo is the kind of guy that you know -- his. Feelings on -- shirt sleeves. I don't know but you know frankly you're right that if your quarterback you I mean you've really I think from a patriots -- have to appreciate Tom Brady. For his careful -- with his wording. Tom Brady his head you know his agents and insert him he's got media handlers and people taking care of him and they've coached him well. Tom knows how to handle the media he knows how to say the right things he knows how to protect those who need protecting he knows how to you know. Cover over you know company secrets all that stuff. And maybe that's on the Tony -- still needs to learn how to do because after all he is just kind of burst on the senior in the last. Year or so a lot of people think that -- could become a Brady like type of quarterback. Certainly I've seen enough of the short term -- Tony Romo to appreciate his abilities. And the -- certainly can be that kind of a player for the Dallas Cowboys he's got enough offensive weapons now. You know you can always -- weapons but let's face it he's he's got some right now and so. He just has to I think learn -- learned to read coverages -- better and certainly has to -- to prepare but he you're right I think you know Bill Belichick and the patriots deep it will threw everything at him plus the kitchen sickness sink this Sunday in an effort to get him confused again Tom an Ottawa Canada says was reading Tom best POW a guy emailed him regarding that that the -- guys that PP guys. When I'm going to totally forgot about was Eddie Jackson. I don't -- while it was still injured choice and bill was truly like the guy and feel that he would get picked up by another team very easily. What can he bring to that he -- any ideas and will be dropped. Off I will tell you right now that I do not have any. New information injections so I'm not sure what he can bring to the DBs I can say right now that the bees are all fairly healthy. So I'm sure there won't be any sense of urgency to bring him back unless he's absolutely 110% ready to go when he evens even then. Even then there's still going to be a spot forum on the roster who -- And the and the answer that is right now nobody -- injury happens you know in the next two weeks. What happens it'd be status quo. He's is also who goes to Troy brown gets activated this Kelley Washington loses spotter maybe even Gutierrez I'm assuming that the -- replace someone on offense while. Again I have surmise that if if and when Troy brown does get activated my guess would be the the person who would be likely. -- to lose his spot would be Kelley Washington. Even the Washington did return of the field last week in on special teams I don't know that he lined up at wide receiver don't recall but he did. Nam but don't think the adrenaline that good years ago. Specialist has now Vinny Testaverde can't be called that is occasion and heard that he signed a one year deal with the Carolina Panthers. Earlier today because of the injury and and affected them but Jake DelHomme is going to be out for the rest of the year with his elbow surgery. So Vinny won't be an opportunity albeit -- the past it's come back and back up so I can imagine them letting Gutierrez go out he says Toms is looking for the game this weekend at that should win. But then again they have lost too much the worst teams or they've lost too much worst teams in the past some competent but this game is not certain. Mr. anyone watch the TV show you guys doing Internet but in the is the POW show strained at all -- I don't think it is as. And so. Actually show you need to watches in and we talked about yesterday with a brand low and Christina -- need to watch. Patriots today Christina alone as were prices admission that here here is Lawrence who's the official POW in progress colts stand. Who lives in west Linn Oregon he says the cultural place six AFC south games. Well against better than average teams well the pass -- six games against weak teams what impact will this have the two teams going in the playoffs -- question. Too tough to say too much time between now and and in the last few weeks of the season. Because well I think you can I think you're almost viewpoint Lawrence where you're comparing apples and oranges again you've got after this week you've got ten weeks left in the season. Called plays six against the AFC south better than average teams pick it was six if we -- the patriots also have. Baltimore and the patriots also have you know grudge matches against the jets the patriots also play Pittsburgh patriots have when Washington patriots have played Pittsburgh. Okay so you know I don't know that. I really don't think that will have any effect on in either. Other than because I think you'd get hurt in any game I -- build up momentum and I think momentum is a week to week thing. Largely to all -- read let's get one -- here this would come from Anthony says they should tweak the rule talk about the time last freeze the kickers that we're talking a little bit earlier. They should tweak the rule to -- coaches cannot call timeouts if the team is on the pins within the last two minutes of the game. Players can still call all the time outs on the field but don't agree that the coach should be able to speak in the -- a year. It would once when he wanted time out well when Blanco a lot of time on the clock. That will be an issue for the competition committee Richard look at but like the of the guys I don't believe it'll be ruled it will be changed any time soon. I patriots head coach Bill Belichick from earlier today here at Gillette stadium is -- in earnest begin their preparations for the Dallas Cowboys."
[45:39]" Spent list -- couple days here working on Ellison. They're very very impressive football team that they really do everything well they're very physical on both sides of the line of scrimmage statistically just about any study once they got. They can run they can throw it they make big plays. They turn of all over sacked the quarterback of the most receptions in Italy is right now aligning a lot of great players defensively there there outstanding front that physical linebackers run well. Got a bunch of play makers in the secondary. Of course Newman got back last week and Williams -- offensively. Dolphins want and it's just as big and powerful explosiveness -- along time you know that -- Davis. Road either they're very powerful tight ends there great wins a great player that's all around it's quite awhile you know most. Very athletic quarterback. You know play human against saint Louis were respectable numbers news very here it's -- skirted its scrambled -- first down you know epitomizes playing Megan building both fax -- outstanding farmers terrific year it's really hard -- over the past. Of course quality players waivers and he can't underestimate guys like treatment hurt just because Theo went and saw the ball so. The good kicking game goes on Monday night. Couple big -- the end they cover well Davis Watkins those guys there are art Hamilton coverage. They returned -- well so -- complete seniors all all the way around that well coached you know way. Very fundamentally sound defensive football team that'll give him Margie Ernie haven't given up months so. -- I was asleep you know I don't know these guys are well on Clinton and several years ago on the players since then young players who have built specially guys on the defensive line linebacker group. They're very athletic team and they're very tough and physical team and a hard to score since -- score a lot of points you know the second half numbers are. -- pretty impressive what they've done bears outscored opponents of the second half so. You know their their team accounts where people down and they they just keep coming out you know. They're pretty good. Phone numbers oh. -- good standard for a breakfast. Is it not if they talked about it for Buffalo's. Buffalo's did you know that they're -- about the play did an outstanding and money nine months away from them but their style plays so different from ours especially defensively you know -- But just you know different styles Davis. And a good edit their best and they're quick. An external laden is not something we we do laws we think they would play it differently like. There's that's what's in those days. So but I mean have been said there's certainly things dictate the game moments and that I think buffalo style of play our style and -- really close -- all of -- You know their four wide receivers came on third down. You know and its personnel groups -- on early -- so there's you know there -- over or you know work. There there there. -- that giant game capable aliens so. It was for a touchdown among the first game so. They've taken all that's. It statistical abnormality puncture the over the course of the season that'll that'll work so well is that they're just -- offence to. They score a run and thrown titans receiver products quarterbacks. And they'll score --"
[50:47]" It's okay I understand let's -- careful what I said here. I used to seeing any other team's colors well. Have you over there where my your well it's a lot of the same players and it's you know I think structurally there's lot of similarities but there's definitely different you know -- great deal success wherever he's coach -- consulate as a head coach or coordinator his teams are very sound -- that pressure quite a bit and he and you know they they don't make many mistakes they haven't given up many big plays Andre is as a get a blister and I saw that their their secondary play especially Pamela Williams safeties. You know they prevented you know well you get a lot what did it get a few big plays in the ghetto blaster you know get -- that certainly helps them. You know Henry agrees that situation but they've always had you know couple of good guys out there and you know -- don't know that -- sub situations so. You know whether they're they're solid and of course on third down. You know there there's such a good first and second defense a lot of -- situation along heritage and you know that -- on the Astros -- where sponsor. -- all those guys and so it's just you know it's hard to hold all involved on the field for the origin. Here yeah -- say it that somewhere I'm an ugly scene where play about the way you played last year the only place outside on the recording plays -- all 43. Or -- a 14 or sub package and least of all did you see stuff in pursuit -- that are instinctive guy you know reads screens and big interception against Atlanta last year on Victoria batted ball in the -- caught off anyway and stuff like that he's. He's strong he's fast he's athletic and you know I don't want to run out of me don't run away from home so you know it's -- problem. Since then the rest those guys and you know run its beers. But the owner I can't either one away from home so that there. To -- way around. Very good person team. I think thousand everywhere forced them. Every page -- every every year in which there's good players there's trouble placing it like that but he's he's got more good ones and ultimately it's. And I split them for -- here so. -- you know hard criticized his play overall you know again there's always that easy to work on and get better and I'll works very hard done them. Overalls plays spread the court. I don't know. It's appreciated -- I don't know somebody else thinks. If that somebody else. Cause I'm pretty good that. I think -- wasn't pretty good you know even going back at 2000 season you know he gets -- work he's going to work got to try to. You know try to get better it would yes they do and and that does not on the field that's you know doing extra work an extra drills and an extra time on things -- physically here mechanically or. Just you know understand an overall floats our system or or with the possibility so. -- works are targeted to get everything right and it makes important about those little and so what possibly at least expect them but it's usually a positive way these. He's always done it's always we're going to get better and he's he's done through his entire career certainly do it this year. I think that states agree. Great example for all of us if it goes -- really good football still always do little things get better -- that's. Is -- us. It's -- okay way. All of them. Okay concerned at all. You right now or you turn five. Odd that every week there's there's always plays -- you know -- to correct and improve on. So that was no different last week for Cincinnati game -- San Diego game with a Japan -- things in every one of those games that we. Needed talk about improved get straightened out so I think it's going to be that way every week I'm not really. Too concerned about those games -- you know you want to try to learn from mistakes and make improvements you know that all of us doesn't tell us our games their games. Last year everything else them. The most important thing is that he's he's fast enough for five days to maximize our preparation for the -- on. In the best position we can be -- inflation. But again I think Tom's got a good player foursome thing you know look so I have the season last year you know we threw the ball pretty well. But as well as anybody in the league. So I think there's say there's games or thrown out there and Soriano or some. Players were -- date sometimes or berroa at short. Screen -- things like that so just yesterday he'd take what you need to -- do offensively in the all scoreboards and it's because we should do on offense is not about stats. Get a bowl one player X number times -- get so many yards rushing or passing or whatever it's unbelievable score points -- one of the yeah. Along those words -- points of -- them. Work more efficient offensively what we're not doing that than. It's not a good glove -- home -- Okay what does the -- Bordeaux -- He's comfortable. Very much stuff my posture -- it."
[57:42]" That we can talk about his sweatshirt at any rate welcome back our number two if we continue on patriots playbook -- John -- and one of the questions asked of coach Belichick in that press conference early today came from a Albert Greer who you might recall covered the patriots for the metro west daily news in of course. He's now covering the cowboys for the Dallas morning news in the the last couple weeks Albert it's great to have you on the program and welcome back to New England so to speak"
[58:11]" it's good to be here on the Dallas stadium well. Got -- metro more comfortably there's still like go get my putting out there."
[58:19]" I gotta tell you though it's pretty weird to have this whole thing turn around on in the short amount of time. Just two weeks that you went to work firm the cowboys in Texas for work for the Dallas morning news I should say --"
[58:29]" Yeah 80 you know total different take a little while and yet -- in the middle of these and you learn all of my colleague John. You know you forget that it's kind of hard the one bases that's that's the ones in the and of course you know he's got to wear helmets on the field and you don't all the guys aren't of course he locker -- you know who rubble is you know TO is. You know Terence Newman has put some of the guys who the other on this player the other bases though that's actually been on shelves."
[58:56]" I can imagine now the obvious question I have for you Albert is the BIR realize it's only been a couple of weeks for you to really get a good close look at the cowboys but can you compare. In contrast these two organizations yet because obviously the both five -- on the football field how to they compare contrast knowing on the field would even off the field based on your your early observations."
[59:18]" Well I didn't -- up not -- Organizations and you tell that by the value both team you know each club is worth over a billion dollars -- I think that was number one more than a one point six billion if I if I'm correct on that all of a very forward thinking owners who were very involved -- in you know the difference might be the coaching level I think Bill Belichick got a little more control the entire organization where. You're Jerry Jones the -- you know also -- forgot ot Dallas. On the west coast is more -- of football coach said the major difference accused structurally. Yeah are on the art on the fielder's certainly differences they're different types threes -- to get played in you know very different off. You know there are some certain certainly some similarities I think the business approach. -- Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft is very much suspended obviously are both here have been very very successful song itself."
[1:00:19]" That's very true Albert breeder who covers the cowboys for the Dallas morning news and as recently as two weeks ago covered the patriot the -- was daily news joining us here inside the the play books of both of these teams now murder or 20. All of their their five an -- they is I find it hard to believe that this is the fifth time in history. Of the NFL that you've had two teams that private O square off or better square off against each other in the regular season it does that sound kind of Bob do you."
[1:00:46]" You have really is you know it's been it's it's it's hard to believe that they may be that difficult ago on the I don't know you're not here in the third of the way through the season and and yet you've never had teach -- about -- it's not that -- kind of keep the difficulty. So will perform week to week in the league because. The girl budget you -- I don't know I'll never a year that you see more this but usually by the on the senior guard you pared down don't just. You know -- a handful of teams and and really at that point you know you'd have to have -- had a coincidence come up and it has you know why are you think he'd take that step further these two people play each other once every three years -- you know pitchers in the AFC in the that was in the NFC's throw one of those. You know lightning striking is there."
[1:01:34]" Does anybody -- you up for your inside knowledge on the patriots yet and"
[1:01:39]" Yeah that they're going to fire yet this week you can look at what you'd better look at right. They don't doubt that it's you know I'd. I think the players have actually been in -- that out -- locker room mom as -- how things -- how things work -- everything. You know -- the -- some connections you know Roosevelt Colvin. But it Purdue as did they can -- And -- Spencer you have budget equipment from tennis he would tell you watch it Donte' Stallworth here an invalid you guys you know you have. Jarvis Green in the locker room you have Kevin Faulk in the locker room -- in Dallas. Yet Marcus spears you know Bradie James so there's certainly connections there and you know all of the guys really know it's a pretty well."
[1:02:21]" Sounds like it now. How to those guys and -- the of that team and I realize it's a little different from your perspective -- you weren't there a year ago or in previous you're -- Bill Parcells but how -- wade Phillips been accepted or treated by that the veterans in that locker room."
[1:02:36]" Very well actually you know I think back to -- matter -- how much you remember about them and here's Bill Parcells New England. You heard about all the players they great allies that it felt pretty you know and and it was almost but the principal left the -- right now you know I didn't opulent -- from like that now I'm Parcells got itself I think Bill Parcells -- great coach in -- I think you live of doing it. Has been tested and has worked or places but I do think -- that if that were built ourselves leave the team because he is heavy handed because he does have its have control over only things in the organization that he's been. You know that he -- the way of someone else comes it was -- open it you know pleasure ecstatic about it you know and and it remembered is that I don't know you know yes I mean they -- I don't know though you know. This that they they have been like you know that they did their there. It's he's been a great thing going you know you want to check back of it was brilliant or later in the year. There might be some more questions you can remember that happening in what --"
[1:03:47]" Right right. Do you give the impression that from those guys that they expected it to be five -- what the stage."
[1:03:53]" Yeah you know I it was a very professional -- I think that's one of the things securities over I don't know how many guys locker room that are actually say it the discipline the week to week disciplined focus on what's at hand on the -- in the Indonesia the patriots. I think a lot of that carries over with guys who played for ourselves. Now point for felt that the cowboys. I think those guys expected to be successful I don't know they expect to be this successful but the schedule local opera coming into the year. But it does now you know the rams to be pretty good team. Obviously things have happened at the bears that -- it's it. Things have happened there so I think before if you if you look at US since I've been on my -- stretch with the scheduled but now you look at the schedule. And if -- can't discount all of -- all of the cowboys to their credit to take advantage."
[1:04:41]" Very true now. You would be equipped and to this perhaps as well as anybody but the question I was baskets over email was in the program was too. It take 88 point and the football team whether -- cowboy fan or your patriots fans take a position on the team that you know you have a definitive edge. Over the other guys -- Can you do that right here is there a bit."
[1:05:02]" That they have maybe the cowboys have who grew -- recruits. -- in the cowboy receivers there's skill players. She just because they're so meant that there are a lot of good ones that -- great player he's radio that broke out against the rams. Obviously everybody knows about throw well which is way be it also -- Marion Barber -- you know that the cab and got a lot of good skilled players I think that. That's something where they bigbie might be able they're not going to huge plays in the pages out here at least seeing. You know -- now right this second there for 40 yards -- but it might be able nickel dime more of that move the chains that way -- be tough -- look at -- to -- a patriot. And I think defensively the pitcher you know at the same thing the cowboys have been on the depth in the secondary that agent by the it would take advantage of them that there -- ready and darkest spell the last walker."
[1:06:01]" How is by the way -- often think of the subject here I was Terence Newman and what's his status for Sunday."
[1:06:06]" You know I thought he would be he -- he the other the previews of it of that -- she it's called it in any plan to harvest this year you know plants are actually in the Eddie out tendon injuries so he worked his way back from not against it Lewis that you can kind of than nickel back -- Aeroflot when he at the Hendry went down they moved back outside let alone more fault. I thought you literally millions buffalo you don't use stronger and and one -- work well with that. With an injured player I think always out grasp of -- apply. The test them did a great job against the run and also give screens and short passes and tackling that probably he was right. You want the best currently what is now -- that it is getting -- that point that you said that he won't be 100%. You know until he actually gets some closure some of these things but I'm right now he looks close to what he was last year aren't well."
[1:07:01]" This I think then -- you know is -- fair assessment when you say -- and you look at the Dallas -- that superior offense defense that began -- you're somewhat slowly but they seem to be improving especially because they -- the builds 23 points and bought 229230 yards of total offense on Monday -- is that a fair assessment in your estimation is the -- defense continuing to improve."
[1:07:23]" Well you know the offense than Mark against buffalo defense looked great against the bills now -- remember -- that -- rookie quarterback in there who actually played really officially it down and they had a rookie running back in there. On the defensive improve. Now it's not a member William agenda -- so there's still position she's the ramp up -- offensive line is she's coming in. Whoever wrote it that's a -- last few weeks but I attribute that is getting better the opposite or that -- and -- and that's what with a little trouble from against the -- now the thing is that is that if you pick the interception the white and I -- it's -- to do that but. You know a couple of interceptions open their miscommunication thing in Tony Romo I don't think going to throw five interceptions this week -- put that idea. I don't think that they're going to be thrown five interceptions against the patriots that he can play it smart in -- he did -- the interception -- from the -- in the -- that they didn't -- the ball -- the -- over 300 yards and they did move the ball up and down the field that."
[1:08:26]" Well this way that this kind of thing is is stacked up here I think it's certainly. But looks like he keeps -- set up to be pretty interesting matchup to say beliefs in and I know the cowboy fans feel low supremely common of their team's ability and I know you don't know this -- but I grew up in Dallas fan having grown up in Texas and so -- in a lot of ways I'm somewhat envious of the fact -- actually -- to -- the cowboys on -- and -- because frankly I thought that's what I was going to do for living at some point I'm not -- have any problems -- being -- right now let me assure you but the fact is is that you can offer unique perspective on this thing go -- and so I'm -- with this when I'm going to ask you to to give me what you think could could very well transpire on Sunday afternoon."
[1:09:11]" My prediction yeah absolutely absolutely okay Ahmet -- in the -- stores going to be pitchers 30 work -- sport. Real -- 17 points. Yet he I think I just don't think the calendar at that level quite yet you know when it bothered him going to rule of course the year. On Democrats in the -- but I think what that game going to displays there's still that gap there between the end of the is the even at the chargers aren't what everybody out there or -- and -- that the Steelers are still get. I think that is good and really voters shows that definitely it is typical of the patriots. -- really you know gap between. What both teams are -- what the next level it is and and I do the decal was on the -- well but I don't go page article."
[1:10:00]" If your cohorts in Dallas know that you think the pitcher to win the game by the margin."
[1:10:05]" problem. What to what -- idea what I'm one month LB -- down on the blog. Side of 45 to ten and so I guess being you know on the it'll happen out there really. Yeah 40 -- you. -- bad but but I don't want to make sense that he's trying count them as people down -- won the game based in the fact that it's at Texas stadium marine -- the fact that you know that the -- was coming -- game but I think Vietnamese. The -- that they are short week. And you know that was a short trip its opinion the Buick was used for future should because of this and they client you know every year it's what you're -- watching -- road trips for. Director of probably mostly -- the game that they did. And really turned out that you know -- they're going to need to do to compete with -- it."
[1:11:00]" let me throw some -- I think that if the cowboys had lost on Monday night that they would have been a little bit tougher on the patriots."
[1:11:08]" I think that I -- you wouldn't let -- hit a question of in the there's certainly ability that because. You know they'll be about that can only do -- but more it's it's just that the pitchers -- high level right now. That you're that you're going cup for the pitchers to maintain it well of course the year but. You know you -- and they really have going against the game I think it affected of that tax you know that the cat was coming off short week and a really emotional and that's another -- well forward but I think that the pacers places this game that they can avoid mistakes this year ample."
[1:11:44]" step Albert listen thank you so much for spending little time -- today obviously prevent rather unique perspective having covered the patriots in and covered him very well for the metro west daily news and now that -- the Dallas morning news you with one of the preeminent sports sections in the country so congratulations for almost on the promotion to. I'm most definitely did sports there. -- Fort Worth I used to work for the star telegram back when I was in. High school in in Fort Worth and also a student at the University of Texas and an a lot of the guys -- still work the star telegram and and still very familiar with a lot of the guys that does that work exports that."
[1:12:19]" Yeah yeah yeah no it is a good footwork you know I'm I'm very happy to be."
[1:12:23]" Welcome congratulations on the gig is it's well. One of the best sports writing gigs that I can think of in the country and I think it's a well deserved I appreciate it's been a little time with us today."
[1:12:35]" You gotta enjoy in Dallas. That's Albert breeder and Albert -- courses I mentioned cover the page at the last couple years for the metro west daily news. And then just recently within the last two weeks joined at the sports staff of the Dallas morning news and used. Beat writer covering the Dallas Cowboys so what is it about them into -- daily news being at. A big steppingstone because breeders' predecessor at the -- was daily news was was Tom -- And of course Tom current left metro west to go to work for the Providence journal. And then after he worked -- cover the -- for the Providence journal he's now working for NBC sports dot com. And so now Albert breeder comes and works from Mitchell was for a few years and and covers doing the patriots in all of a sudden bang he's -- of the Dallas morning news which other than the Boston Globe. And I think other than the Tampa Tribune is I think the Tampa Tribune is a very good sports section I think the Dallas morning news could be considered -- one of the best sports sections in the country. Bart not because of their now the quality of the writing but because of the attention they paid -- detail. And because the amounts in the depth of their coverage. So in the in the space that they allow you know in their sports sections wells so you know certainly you know the globe has long been one of the primitive sports section in the country. Dallas morning news is also one of those I had a chance when I was governs college -- look at the Tampa -- again I'm convinced that the Tribune is right there with anybody else in the country it's really good look at -- just hope that it and I -- we have some -- in -- and -- correct me if I'm wrong but I think could be the Tribune has a very good sports -- I'm very impressed -- again so. Great that Albert could spend a couple of minutes of time with us today and with -- to present what is obviously truly unique perspective on the cowboys. And the patriots coming up on Sunday since he is now covered both of these teams. In the same year. Interstate that he favors the patriots right now on favored the patriots like good solid 17 points the state which. Might make -- like everything is I think that was somewhat unhappy if they do that they beat writer you know got relegated. In the they were the cowboys are favored the paper -- by how much. I don't know probably few complaints in in in letters to the editor over that one with the frankly so far that's kind of the feeling that I'm getting with some of the patriots fans -- email would you welcome to do so as well. It was your thoughts web radio at patriots dot com as the -- interest of course will have time for your picks in your predictions which we normally do on Thursday shows that -- for you tomorrow but you can to -- your thoughts and on now rear of the that we were able to get him on today. -- let's get back to some emails that we're settled a bit earlier on and then now will have Dallas had coach wade Phillips coming up just -- few minutes as well here inside the play book that from his conference cult members of the patriots media earlier today at Gillette stadium. All this comes from all the recent Tampa and he says. John I'd I didn't follow the unifil back in the day of the triplets I want to know what they Troy Aikman a great quarterback has seen his stats I was amazed. But a relative number passing yards and touched 22 being the highest. What makes Troy Aikman great quarterbacks effective Michael or were to throw to when he had Emmitt Smith to handoff to. He had an offensive line that was a non non parallel -- just there wasn't anybody. That could hold you know they could control the line of scrimmage against that offensive line. Early in his career he was you know like Swiss cheese but you know during the -- days in the early 90s. If you are we got touched. I think you beginning to see that a little bit from you know the patriots -- of lines surrounding Tom Brady. In the fact that now they've had a few years to really gel together and they become interchangeable. And it developed real quality depth on that line and let's face it they didn't miss a beat last week in the at Russ Hochstein moving in -- center for Dan cope -- so. With with -- out with a sprained ankle. Seoul you know we were beginning to get that same type of feel here. And Brady has offensive weapons to go to. He had one of the best tight ends in the game of the time and J no the check. It one of the best full backs in the game and Daryl Johnston and so I mean was he had all the weapons that's what made him a great quarterback and that's taking nothing away from his ability. You know to throw past. But you know when you're surrounded with talent."
[1:16:59]" You have to go out of your way to screw things up. An -- and manage the game as well as anybody did -- mistakes. Again keep him on his -- salary -- days but you know cowboys were able to keep everybody together in in -- and managed to do it and that's really what made him a great quarterback. And provided him with a lot of his numbers he had great talent surrounding him and he knew who hit the ball to and went to get it to them hey Alejandro John hello from Bogota Colombia. I think the patriots have a huge edge in the passing game we're talking about where you think in the opening -- the program our row for those in the log in little bit later on here today our question of the day email question that is. Where does your team with a -- cowboy fan or patriots fan listening to wear it as -- team have a definitive edge. Over the other guys. That was a question and John says I think we have a huge it paid of huge edge in the passing game in the Dallas secondary is a -- unit in pass coverage. I would proceed in no huddle opening drive with five receivers and a permanent abuse of operated safety Roy Williams oh goodness you know Roy Williams takes a lot of hits and I realize a lot of people think he's he's a big hitter but he's not very good coverage even though that's not necessarily his role but that he can be -- So I fully expect the patriots and I think it is everybody is recognizing that and you have to realize that Dallas. And even Williams and self also recognizes that so rest assured -- that the cowboys will prepare for the patriots to go over the top. So don't be surprised if you get a little switch in the game planning. I mean let's face it. Cowboys deep into what they excel at an end in Albert -- just talked about this but that was before -- excel excel and quickness. They are extremely quick amongst the front seven."
[1:18:50]" You're going to see then perhaps you know try to dare the cowboys -- picture excuse me I think. To go over the top so just. He's going to be here with the fires scarecrow. You don't want to get brought this up I would like to ask you about the defensive what you expect a lot of bulletin patriots the other way around. Well here's the thing I don't see the cowboys -- I don't seem try to what's a lot -- the -- at triple pressure Brady because. Boy if they if they blitz Brady picks it up they're going to get part they're going to give -- bad because what you've already mentioned that they will realize a lot of so I think what -- do as -- that you're going to see the cowboys -- I think you can see the cowboys try to -- bickered -- on the ball in in that way the cowboys can try to utilize the quickness and their front seven. But it does mean to go loaded in the secondary but I would be surprised to see you know nickel packages in there a lot. Ought to make sure that they are they taking care of guys like moss. You know in the secondary conversely I'm not so sure that the patriots are going to so much put blitzes on -- is they'll throw different coverages on on different bounce. -- that we saw what some you know what the Buffalo Bills did to confuse. Tony this last week they put a lot of guys up in the box they also one of the cowboys to run the ball. Our undated they're the cowboys run the ball because they put a lot of guys in the box cowboys can have a lot of success in in in run in the football while I thought so much on Monday. So I think you'll probably see some similar looks by the patriots defensively. But -- now blitz no I don't really expect that. But I think you don't -- they have an opportunity lucky so Tedy Bruschi against Cleveland and Derek Anderson is last week April lane is open I'm going to take. And boy did he was looked on blocked twice in the -- blitzes Brian writes us from San Francisco. Are hard to limit to only one match -- but I think the cowboys' best -- Richard rusher demarcus ware as well as the rest of the front several we readily handled by Matt light in the align. And the occasional help from Kyle Brady that'll be the difference. Just one more point is Terence Newman hurt he really showed a lack of speed on his interception return Monday night. When he was caught easily by through reform bills cowboys plan on -- up with moss it's going to be a long night for the moment well Brian thanks for the email you just heard Albert -- talk about that he's improving. He did miss training camp he's probably not quite 100% but if he is improving it stands to reason. Is -- and tweak himself on Monday that you know he'll at least be somewhat effective. -- him up against -- I don't know that will be the case he may lineup that way but I think you'll see him get plenty of help. From the secondary which is why I think it'll be difficult for the pay for the for the for the the cowboys to out now blitz Tom Brady. Because of Brady picks that -- up it will be a long day and the cowboys will be beaten and beaten handily in the game the this is the challenge I think that they. That they face overall bar against trying to you know matchup of the of the patriots on with their defense against that offense which way we -- ago we gonna go out Tony Romo here. Okay let's not get battle conference call that members of the patriots media had just a short while ago with cowboys quarterback Tony --"
[1:22:10]" Donnie don't -- don't just -- you you have an enjoyable Monday night. We want I think was -- the outcome was yeah we want that there there it makes it to work you learn from something like that is something to Milan -- Persevere and overcome you know that's after Evans portables."
[1:22:31]" Yeah I say it just it's experiences you got there I mean every these things differently and and start to. You know process information you brad -- with the future of some mistakes you make -- you know what I -- ask yourself things of that exit. Just they're just the process body of quarterback. All that you -- to many of those games were. It's up it is and quickly and we're fortunate to get the win even plan."
[1:23:02]" You have a lot there were compare yourself with gritty and -- the back into the second most. Most touchdown passes to this point put your ball your ball came replacing Drew Bledsoe kind of an interesting aspect."
[1:23:17]" Yeah I mean now Castro and so setup that whip but. I just think we. You know we've learned I learned a lot -- this year -- haven't not sure what was --"
[1:23:34]" Let me ask you about you're getting your according with Parcells last year and I waited it's always. Learning process with two different steps but did ourselves. Instill in some of the things that you are using today that usually they're like a commandment"
[1:23:53]" I just take a -- things are still talking about how to prepare yourself ready. And you know wait -- kind of guy who wants to. Well we're going to put organs are also are so don't play again so it's -- it's of course still you know of course -- of -- fear factor little bit what warriors are gone just two different approaches but they're supposed to but those players."
[1:24:24]" You have you have a team that survived an all the and a different -- in the patriots. We're five and all but nevertheless this -- the game of the way it is just the kind of -- you play football or have a ever confrontation like this at this juncture of the Susan."
[1:24:37]" Thanks so it makes it more fun while it is that the games. That the on the cup without wood all of them you know any different than it did last they're so big games go to lineage on the top step --"
[1:24:49]" Do you do patriots that absolutely everyone talks about ready. But the difference is done pretty decent job."
[1:24:58]" Yet another I mean they. Our ability to put them a great situation to -- without the players over there and the -- thought that makes it difficult on quarterbacks -- via. You know other bank. And I think he does a great job. They -- think certain way and twitching. You know it's a situation where. The corporate if not be so. Two as far as try to decide everything just quote what."
[1:25:34]" You play with a -- you know always national. Was you know America's team and all lot of pressure on quarterbacks I assume in Dallas that go to bat."
[1:25:46]" Caminiti and -- this position and then do -- cap just. If first -- you --"
[1:25:57]" How much does went like that Monday night that helped you guys as a team down the road in terms of confidence in. You know if you get a tough spot drawn back on what to -- it Monday night."
[1:26:08]" I just think that you really believe that you can win it you know I'd get a date you really should -- a lot of turnover battle with. But at at one. Probably pretty decent team he -- so. Feel like we're we're never out of game since he put off keep Brian what."
[1:26:31]" When he didn't ultimately getting negative reinforcement. But losing the game despite having six personal turnovers that it is it harder Tony to two processes that while. I've really have to -- you know. Pressure up on take care of football of the better."
[1:26:51]" Obviously having an impact it then vote that is -- goes in the south right ought to I think turn the ball both. I really haven't had that problem lately so it is I'd like -- think everyone off the except on game but but it did. Chalk it up you'll learn from it in the -- you don't let it affect the way you plan."
[1:27:10]" Well taking care of the ball ball security in the pocket yet what could have -- a pivotal fumble and I don't bells on the boat ourselves and discussed last year. If you improve because. Quite frankly bruising that was on Monday as well."
[1:27:26]" No idea art billick for that first phone book -- this -- so. You know -- there -- this which drove it you know the ball so. I think doubt. You know he'd learned -- the other feel and -- Iraq that the candidate they're trapped on the floor in China but it -- on. I -- about that process of the easier to do it's easier to win football games you don't give it to the other. -- policy but. But I do what I do when a stripper -- end zone because it was so well with football."
[1:28:04]" Cutting lazy and anyone's best of how. Maybe give me advice on that -- technique as we've all through our code -- I sound."
[1:28:16]" Now I don't I don't think so I think. You know I'm sure -- circle changeup and weekly in our. They're going to have a course that they like it Cuban at that point again mixed it up each week to try to focus on defense in the like that that does with the we're just trying to adapt to it as it was along. Andre or other great football team will be great challenge for us just you know a step that we do -- were trying to go."
[1:28:44]" That you had to. -- Motorola 300 which is the first time that's happened. -- getting a lot of yardage -- it's a combined effort would not everywhere things don't steal but it's with men in all your other. I hear other receivers are producing well too"
[1:29:02]" Taiwan got good weapons here distracted body and it is and let them do work. I just I don't look to anybody particularly in order to be sensitive -- had struggled for four. It would be good test this week this besides -- what they're doing defensively just try and -- both."
[1:29:26]" I had. You know how much it says you just that -- have nagging injury -- thanksgiving take -- personal relationship"
[1:29:36]" and so you don't really know all but at all. They just fantastic player of me just I think things were great players -- trying to use them in your game but he's just be a great great player that. -- the all time now. But at that point deceptive be yourself and do would you do well."
[1:30:02]" That's Tony Romo Dallas Cowboys quarterback visiting -- members of the patriots media -- their questions earlier today at Gillette stadium glad that we bring that to you. Let's get to a few more you emails that you've taken the time to write as we want to take time talk about who we can't answer your questions today. And also would -- your comments from Barbara question of the day email wise and then we will low wrap up the program today with them with them. Head coach wade Phillips of the Dallas Cowboys coming up here just couple moments Mark writes -- his big game this weekend obviously be down there with my brothers huge cowboy fan. Can't wait it's funny how people start talking about 60 you know really guys -- take it. One game time. Mark I wish that we could put you in contact with everybody who listened to -- program which you have right he writes from West Bridgewater mass pieces by the way. Little bit of book of Leo in fact in point your point infections November 15 1987. Herschel walker overtime. That was the last time the cowboys scored a touchdown against the patriots. It's been three games since the two teams to play each other and a -- field goals but that it. I think market goes does the stat of the day that may go down at the stat of the week. It has been almost 20 years. Since the Dallas Cowboys have scored a touchdown against the New England Patriots that's phenomenal. That's phenomenal realism -- three games but still that's phenomenal last time these two teams played -- the season was 2003 might recall it was the what was yep 12 -- game in Foxboro and Gillette so that's that's a great -- 20 years. They for the Philippines writes checks in on the of the PUP were talking about this a little bit earlier or make sure get this out -- he's right about this. Players can't go off below the PP until week six. But they can stay on the PUP. Physically unable to perform list for three more weeks -- week nine and then after the come off it. They can practice with the team but they -- the additional three weeks from leaving. But -- practice but not be counted against the roster soon I think I'd had two weeks it's three weeks to thank you for the clarification appreciate that. Obvious they can actually stay on the list. For up -- nine weeks just because they're eligible to come off. After six weeks doesn't mean that they will if they're not physically ready to perform. So they don't come off the list after weeks six which would be in -- will be of yet after this week because this is a game six. So they don't come off next week that means you probably will realize that they may be still a bit hurt so they're still few more weeks to play with their before they have to be. I -- so to speak on the injured reserve for the rest of the season thank you -- for the clarification awesome that your aware of that and that does surprise me at least we have very. Educated and intelligent listening audience actually in the Philippines to analyst -- in Vermont says the one match up the patriot defense versus the cowboys offense. Bills gave ever want to -- blue -- on the cowboys' offense which I believe Bill Belichick already had a good idea on how to deal -- We -- Romo will make mistakes if you Foster him you don't let him roam around without pressure take way too of their guys being take what you would win web page it's pretty good. At taking -- teams stars it's also good point but don't be but don't think for minute that the cowboys are also aware of that. If somebody's going to burn the patriots my guess is going to be someone other than deal and Witten is -- thought. -- but that's what I again like Patrick treatment they might could be could be useful here and they're also going to miss a guy like Terry Glenn still remains -- injured for them can in Huntington Beach, California is his first of John sorry -- a lifelong cowboy hater. I can it's okay. Now sometimes you can't help but hate the guys who went all the time on in the early -- at all the 49ers because they were the one team that could beat the cowboys from time to time. I hear his analysis quarterback patriots definitely outclassed the cowboys wide receiver moss much better catching the ball -- but -- better with yards after catch. Tied in -- gets the edge of the line pats win this one. Cowboys are big but they looked exploit double play in the -- I'll agree with cowboys all the while while improved. Still -- susceptible to the -- And I think you might seed patriots try to bring bullet rush from the backers at some point. I don't know there have been on the blitz -- you'll see them do it you know when they try to give him different walks. The line -- really have the best for a three in the league and his image above cowboys Nolan looked explainable. Running back cowboys are much better than the patriots in this category Marion -- is going to gain more more respect as a top -- running back and we have however game. Julius Jones isn't bad either I agree with that about Marion -- right I've thought for awhile now that I think he deserved to be the lead guy. Because he certainly much better between the tackles and gets a lot of the upward yards I think Jones is a good back but having Barbara just got that innate toughness. That you'll like. Plus he's got the ability to turn the -- what you have a guy that has both why would you put him in there. A total game analysis patriot -- seven when the line of scrimmage but we used that line dominance to squeeze in much rush the pocket rather than shoot up the middle. Interest he says -- will be more exciting in the previous -- games but I'm really open some like 42 victory. You know you just letting your -- in the but thank you for the E -- Obviously good stuff all the way this -- come from Mark uses the edge quarterback -- running back cowboys slightly wide receiver -- Brady helps Owens is -- fans. Tight ends even on the line -- even kicking game cowboys' final score Pat's point four cowboys 17. All right with get a note when he says this -- from one we've done. And that's from -- berth in the Czech Italy -- what do crazy game cowboys' all got to say that the account was turned the ball over six times next week we're beating them 56 nothing. Of the turn it over six times. I don't know if it'll be 56 November and but I do believe that it will be it route one way or the other Stephen Montana. Unless the cowboys triple team Austin moss is going to be will Roy Williams like a rented mule. If they do triple cover moss this will be choosing their poison. Ben Watson Donte' Stallworth Wes Welker Kevin -- Sammy Morris Laurence Maroney -- cubic. Helping steer them into one of the peace really durable enough back openly -- that on yesterday's program as well and RJ in Vegas checks in with. Too bad Phillips seems like a nice guy first insinuated that he hopes the pats have an off day mistake want. Next out of all of you the -- series but in his Boston media phone interview. Wade Phillips defended Tony was ball security issues was saying that the issue isn't as bad as people think that Romo. Hadn't thrown an interception in practice and really long. The media members. Collectively laughed as -- we were joking but he kept making his point -- series as ever while some great inside their coach. -- the food and the media members pointed out that the browns to march from the game better than any team so far they asked what his plans where he's at well we're gonna put three on moss. In the media lab and just kept on talking about what they do whatever they could do to take him out of the game. So then I actively do -- stalwart Welker Watson inside Saturday -- amenities that you know I don't know we did whatever we -- at this point he stopped him in the dumb things he said. Okay thank you RG for the polish you make up your mind is whether he was kidding. Or them -- he was serious we'll wrap up today's program by living you listen in the head coach. All the Dallas Cowboys and wade Phillips will be back same bat time same bat channel 2 PM eastern time. Tomorrow here in the playbook will win Russell Baxter from the Caspian in the research court. Yeah a little better and a lot of stuff from inside the patriots locker room all the players as they prepped for the Dallas Cowboys. That'll be in tomorrow's program here now wade Phillips of the Dallas Cowboys."
