Finally 543742 will get inside the patriots locker room today let's hear from some of the players is they give us their comments on preparing for the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at dolphin stadium we will also hear from -- to -- Bill Belichick from earlier today here at Gillette. And it it in approximately 40 minutes Russell Baxter from ESPN -- the research coordinator he would join us as he normally does on Thursday's. And then not only will we take a look at the of the pants and dolphins matchup but. As we always do -- hit some of the key matchup around. Of the week in the NFL was being weeks haven't. The season continues to move. Along at a pretty good clip I just maybe it's just because of the opponent maybe it's just because of who they're playing maybe it's just you know because of the dominance that the patriots have shown on the field as orbit this week drag on a little bit longer. Than the other ones that or is it just me. Where's is because I've been in computer help for 24 hours and I just I haven't been able to do anything but look at computer screen in a blinking icon I don't know that I'd I can't wait for Sunday to get here so we can -- like get on with things. I actually have to uncover some college football this week in them doing the them. But the national radio broadcast from Miami Florida State on Saturday. In Tallahassee so as it turns out fortunately I'm able to get flight. Back to you know New England in order to pick up probably the second half. Of the game on Sunday so I'll be in the air during the first half I'm hoping that you know when I land that the of the game will be already in hand but you never know. Which been quoted at time talking about it yesterday show and in an honest. Honesty you know you look at the spread you look at the odds I mean you're 17 point road favorites. When was the last time you remember seeing something like that. A minute I've seen the fact that they were 17 point -- I mean we've had them home favorites but that much a couple of times already this year with a 17 point road favorite. -- home team. Give 17 points I -- it's just -- on their mind boggling I think you only see that in college football. And you'll usually see that in college football when you've got you know a potential routes. On your hands. And even now in all I've been talking about how it's been a tough place form the patriots to play this. South Florida this Miami this is dolphin stadium what do you want to call over the years and the numbers certainly bear that out as we've been talking about all week here. But don't you when it -- won't comes right down to it don't usually also. Allow that -- employees that the guys the odds makers in Vegas. Usually have a right more often than not I mean -- sometimes they're scary good. When it comes to I guess comparing the relative wellbeing teams in any given match. And the fact that they got the patriots is 17 point favorite on the road tells me the pats would be at least a three touchdown favorite had they played here home. Course that may still be to come on later this season and the dolphins visit here. So I'd you know do I think the patriots when -- certainly. The one thing I think that you have to. Guard against this week and I really don't think overconfidence will be a factor because I don't think it's ever been a factor in this locker room here. I think the one thing that you have to guard from is you know certainly you have to hope you don't have injuries that can become definitive and and stumbled you know cause you stumble someone else down the line you have to hope you don't shoot yourself in the foot you want to try to play is clean game as possible without mistakes turnovers and penalties certainly so. That would be number two. And then I guess you know number three just played well enough play crisp enough. To where you can kind of get out and get out of dodge so to speak without major damage done -- next game. You gonna have a better test next week albeit here at home but in you know conceivably you're going to have a better test against the Washington Redskins your home next week. So that you want to kind of get out of this thing you know lack a better phrase alive. And still taken in hopefully with a seventh win so you concentrate on the next week so that's to be your goal is as a patriot as a fan you know I concede we're be reasonable that you know if you can play the game or whatever you know you want the patriots to cover. You know who knows me you know you'd you want your team to continue dominating. Throughout the NFL I guess I can certainly understand that to an extent. I mean after all it you know. We're all probably patriots fans here as well so with that in him it's that you you always -- team to do that so people were talking about your team and reverent tones I mean. Go to any website that has to deal with the NFL and you can read it. I mean the cover of SI this week. I don't did you say it Tom Brady on the cover Sports Illustrated under the headline yes that good. That's pretty good Tom Brady of the patriots dominate the cowboys to go six you know what it says on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. You know so I don't know if you believe still only SI jinx or not but it as changing the patriots yet. That's for certain and I read Tim Layden who wrote the story in aside I read his article -- it was actually pretty well balanced. Talk about a lot of things that you know we've already talked about here. One of the things I think that you know that we have mentioned throughout the course the week leading into this match -- do with the fact that now Miami has been a very difficult place for the team to play. I mention this number yesterday I will repeated here against Vegas I think it. Has some significance in the months of September and October when the patriots have played in the Miami. Earlier in the season since 19 have been one they are ringing won in 13. So that number probably because it's so definitive it's probably made its way in the pregame festivities -- always here. Overall New England is ten and 32. In Miami Tom Brady is a mere two and four in Miami one of the few places he's got a losing record. Course last year how soon we forget right last year the dolphins' defense -- Tom four times. In just 78 yards passing is what they held Brady to last year in winning 21 nothing that has been -- a topic of conversation even coach belichick's a news conference is here this week. I mean that was as dominating performance against New England as anybody had last year against the patriots. And so now Pedro to going back down there again this year largely upon the same team but a few changes. One for the better I think and adding Joey porter to the line backing -- certainly been some changes maybe not so much for the better in the secondary. But you also have Zach Thomas and middle Jason Taylor on the where -- the change -- and this is a team that shot out the patriots now Greta the patriots have. Added you know some pretty decent pieces to the puzzle wide receiver one obviously. That that's the case but. You know. I would think the dolphins would feel relatively certain that they can play with the pats if you have to look at a from Miami's point of view and the patriots I would they would be sufficiently motivated to go down there and sort of put the bad taste out of their mouth from a year ago. With the patriots didn't lose again after the game in Miami until the AFC championship game. You know lost the -- so that sort of served as I think a little bit of of an impetus for the remainder of the season last year. As disappointing -- it wasn't that that 21 nothing game a year ago seems like it was years ago. I mean and I think it's probably because of how far the patriots as a football team have come themselves light years. But I bring it up because again it just kind of falls into the realm of you know be careful. Be careful you have to say that this week the the old adage of on any given Sunday would be tested. Because I think it's it's certainly seems to be that and seems to me as I kind of you know run is over my head again and again try to find reasons. You know to. Not take the patriots. I just I I can't come up with -- one that the wanted to keep them back to -- the fact that they have a miserable record overall in Miami but when you take the relative you know. Strength of the two teams going into this particular game and and and myself -- and said -- What ever happened a year ago has no. Definitive bearing on what happens this year so I I have to keep reminding myself of that because it's true. What happened last your game has no bearing whatsoever on this year's game none. Other than mentally speaking in my service a little motivating factor for the patriots. And it could serve I guess is a little bit of a confidence factor for those who played in Miami who were around last you know and that you know what we've always play these guys pretty well. It we got nothing to lose was his Perrier back let's go hit somebody. And that's where I think the patriots will find if they find any trouble at all that's where I think they'll find their most trouble. On Sunday is they'll go up against a Miami team that just has absolutely nothing to lose. You know -- going to play some younger wide receivers now of the traded Chris chambers -- you -- see -- again get back you know get in there and in and play a liberal -- conceivably get the reps. You'll also see oh Derek Hagan it won't try to think of their kagen and there. And and probably more reps so you know one of those guys have blues -- the to lose. They don't have the experience that they don't have you know that the overall knowledge to know really what perhaps awaits them. I don't comes right down to -- you look at the flip side of it again and you wonder how a team even the Ronnie brown has been the one. Real bright spot offensively for Miami this year and that's what them we were told yesterday here in the program but quite frankly a team's quarterback on the Cleo Lemon. Does have one of its best targets it wide out. Doesn't have -- you know you know a guy like -- Michael around anymore I mean you wonder how they have the authors of weapons the move -- the effects. -- Barrett what 18 points per game I guess it is their first. Six games that's no great shakes. They've been sort of pedestrian offense -- of errors 320 and change per game yardage wise but scoring wise they really haven't cashed them. So I guess -- as I've gotta present of both sides of the story here to you that does lead us to our normal Thursday question of the week predict the final score. -- the email and tell you tell us what you think the final score will be in Sunday's match. I'm not going to ask you to tell me where you think the difference in the game will be could quite frankly I think we all realize that you know it would take in the a real fluke. For the outcome of this game turn out any differently but then again when we say that. You just never know I did that the one thing that is keeps me from thinking lock stock and barrel on this thing. Because you just really never know in the NFL from week to week this may be as close to a sure thing as we've seen in some time. As far as the patriots are concerned on Sunday and yet. When you think like that that's usually when you get burned. -- that's usually when it happens. When you get everything going one direction both physically and mentally and then boom. Team surprised. And it's because of the parity in everybody being you know physically. Of an equal caliber in the NFL and of course they. Predominately the dominant team makes some mistakes and allows the team to stay in the game and then the team that the weaker team has a chance to steal it at the end and you don't want that to happen. Patriots have to come right in there smack him amount -- get up by a couple of scores. And that is hopefully get out of dodge like is that without any major damage. 17 point road they -- I can't recall. And as that ever happening in. I'm sure they're going to be other occasions this year will we see some open you know that's this outlandish you'll save what was the last I was haven't. -- to think -- it happened earlier this year. I'm going to goal. Because I do respect Miami's defense. And I I do think -- those guys are consummate professionals by Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas have been. Preeminent players if not dominant players at their positions. And I'm -- I'm going to give them a little bit of a benefit of the doubt here just because Miami has always been. A tough place for the patriots like. And I am going to say that the patriots win this game by a score I'm my I'm going to go with a 38 figure again. Special since it's a divisional opponent was -- the patriots win this game 3870. Doesn't sound like anything you'd does and then selling getting outlandish. I'm not sure how the dolphins are going to score 17 points I think -- giving them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe turn over maybe you know who knows something. -- 3870. For the patriots I have covering but I'm gonna say that it it it could be a game that is a one score game in the third quarter. Patriots like I'm gonna say could be a save 1710. In the third quarter. Something along those lines before they you -- score again to start pulling away at the end that's what that's what I think that is certainly believable scenario. So I want you to send -- your score web radio at patriots dot com predict the outcome for Sunday's game given the other room. Topics of discussion on your agenda. If you -- like Jonas are really tired of me rehashing old emails by all means please. Complain away I'm ready for today 585437482 at the telephone number. So we would love -- for you to contribute to the program -- one from David from the Philippines. Says John historically I think one of the reasons that we haven't done well Miami is that the weather in early season games can be deadly hot which could be hard for New England based -- deal with -- forecast for this week however has projected highs of only 86 with possible rain. They shouldn't be bad enough to influence the game much I could easily see the -- beating the spread. I just don't see Miami having of talent keep up with maybe next year -- Dave I think -- few beers says what is right on. You know 80 sixes you know that's no great shakes from Miami rain in the forecast yes I would tell you that I think rain is an equalizer. I think if it does rain increases slick turf I think that brings the patriots down closer to a level the dolphins. You know any time that the teams are playing on. Equal footing like that in and usually weather conditions have a way of balancing things out between teams. Usually takes away teams -- strength I would say that if it does rain that I would say the patriots might have a tougher time. Then normal and it's not because rain would you know make the ball slick and maybe perhaps untouchable I did just it it seems also help and hurt the other team as well. Balls seemingly have a way of slipping around. When rain comes in and plays a factor. Or snow comes in and plays a factor. And you know I'd I would be a little nervous about -- division I don't know that the patriots would be nervous I mean you want to have a a predominately strong running game one weather conditions are usually harsh. The pages have been pretty will run the football even in light of the fact the Mulroney missed three weeks and now we may be without Sammy Morris for a few more weeks after this you know with all due respect Kevin falcon and -- colon and Heath Evans you know if -- this would be a game where I think the patriots could really use Laurence Maroney. Because if it is slick out there I think I could see the patriots trying to two run right out of I definitely think I could see that. But you're right Dave in terms of the the weather conditions of the past have long had a lot to do with the patriots team that sort of caught you know on its heels a bit because the dolphins are used to. Patriots -- not. Part of the reason why I think they're probably doing some practicing indoors this week and also William trying to turn of the little bit and he says past 35 Miami 13. The fish need to get at least one turn over to get that much I was gonna say 38 points -- you took that calorie there right. 30 it's all open for anybody only you want it you can go get it. That's pretty. So your emails -- welcome web radio at patriots dot com 5 wait 5437482. It was your scores give us your thoughts on the game and will kind of move on from there and coming up just a few minutes we'll have patriots coach Bill Belichick from earlier today Russell Baxter for me -- communal join us about 2:45 eastern. And that will have patriots locker room interviews coming -- the second -- program we'll sneak get a break here welcome back and he was more right here at Sutcliffe."

Play from 27:54[27:54]" Often here and said the program web radio at patriots dot com 585437482 this -- comes from John. Who says please address the statement made by Patrick Creighton from Dallas. Saint Pat's defense is not for real I did see some inconsistencies that could really hurt us as the season progresses they are. The middle of our defense is exposed big time good tight ends and receivers over the middle will exploit us in -- for sure I'll I'll go this one at a time middle of our defense exposed big time well. I don't know that I could say I think with. Rodney Harrison back in the fold that I think that takes away a lot of whatever as you see as it is the middle of the defense being exposed because of good tidy and is going to go over the middle that's going to be a guy that Harrison is obviously going to sort of shadow or Mark. Bomb I also think that there's an opportunity. If you're getting pressure from other areas to bring it -- Thomas back into coverage as they did early in the season we saw him return that touchdown or interception for a touchdown. Good tight ends receivers -- the middle are always going to get yards. Question is is can these patriots these -- find a way to bend but not break as they did earlier in the season. When opponents -- six the first six opportunities in the red zone. I'm number two pass rush has been good -- terrible I did not see a lot of pressure on the quarterback of the Dallas game we need to get their quarterback more. Well you always need to get quarterbacks more but the thing that made it less much less although of a factor in Dallas -- the -- always very light on a -- he's quick out of the pocket. And quarterbacks mechanic witness if you allow them to get out of the pocket you're not going to be able to get to. Problem is the patriots have to structure the rush where they forced the quarterback to stay in the pocket. That of course you don't want to get beat when he steps up into the middle of the pocket and who's deep down feel but I think you need him good quarterbacks and by the that is a lot to do with the lack of a public -- pass rush although they did get them a couple of times during the game and then our linebackers are big and tough we are old and slow in the middle of the defense being suspect that would also include the edge of the line. Well that. If you really want to nitpick John I think that would be the one area that you could probably nitpick I mean you got the fact that you know for able and in Bruce you're getting up there -- a little bit. You know what I mean. It's hard for me to put they old and slow moniker and a guy like Roosevelt Colvin and it it was Thomas I just I I don't find that appropriate all I think you know maybe after the the that you could say that to certainly you junior says it to say that but then getting your sale who's you know. Three interceptions the last two weeks. So I'm not sure that I'm buying that argument I think that's a common misperception at this stage of the game. You know whatever they're doing they're doing well enough to where that really isn't a a viable argument at this stage again. On this one comes from Indianapolis. All would be a good idea to activate C or sometime before the colts game a couple of weeks even if he isn't ready to go I think wasting one roster spot on him would be worth it. It going to force the colts to devote some time to him during practice during the week leading up to the game of course if she was ready to go by then this is a moot point but if he isn't. It -- creating the impression that he is healed we've created strategic age. I'm sure that that thought if there's anything to creating strategic edges we know that the patriots and Bill Belichick are capable of doing that. But his major -- is deep enough to the point and they had -- obviously the number two overall in yards allowed right now on the NFL defensively so have they missed. Richard Seymour eat after say no. So obviously I don't think that they needed. To create a strategic edge here the weather create one or not I don't I just I think the pitchers going to pass that can be -- like you know say it is what it is. And who prefer aren't the guys what what they have I mean if he's able to play I think you'll see him their point. But you know if he's still borderline I think they're going to milk you know the entire time on the PUP that they can't before they are forced to make a decision. And they're forced to lose either a put him on the roster be put him on I -- for the year. But the patriots are in a position where they have been a real luxury that -- a lot of teams just don't have lot of teams that don't have the depth -- a lot of -- who have you know the type of player. Like Richard Timorese would be doing anything they could be getting back onto the field as quickly as possible. Patriots have. The luxury of time on their side right now. This comes from a Christian and Boston for watching -- a replay last night I pay more attention Roy Williams god he's awful. Other -- being a big hitter what's the fascination with this guy also Hairston is definitely step slower on the slow motion replays you -- release it well. You know. I I I hear that common criticism Roy Williams of Dallas all the time and the fact that he's a step slow or big hitter in the step slow I think is the common. Denominated there but frankly they don't need him to cover as much. And so. You know being a safety I think that's what they want and therefore I want they want in their too you know creative physical presence outlaw Rodney Harrison. As far as terrorism -- to step slower I'm I'm going to reserve judgment on that until I have a chance to see him play a little bit more. And let him kind of get back and you know his own midseason shape which may still be a couple of weeks away RJ in Vegas is do you think we'll see John back this week. If the dolphins are now officially in a rebuilding mode the players aren't going to be playing very hard for the rest of the season well they put him in to see what he can do waited -- later in the season. -- watch a rookie they Cleo Lemon. Well I you know actually if you look at it from my perspective in your dolphins fan I would probably want to see John back. Mean the season's gone it -- six. Cleo Lemon has been nothing more than. A backup. Although last week he did throw over what to 56 against the browns and losing cause they put 31 points up on the board. He did throw a couple of picks -- you know Clement is certainly mobile -- who gives your team the best chance to win. And me and why would you want to take John Beckett throw him to the wolves or lions or to the patriots as the case may be as we got to know that you want to do that you might want to play back a little bit later on certainly the game gets out of hand early than you might see him in their first you series but. I don't know that you really want to throw back to the wolves like that are of alliance I just I just don't. I don't I think you can shell -- guy. And I don't think that the the dolphins will be very careful but it rest assured if the season continues to a southward. I think they've got to see what they have and John beck so they can kind of make an an estimation of what to do about the quarterback spot before the track. And he says oh by the way that he -- was talking about the volume on the podcasted that a 100% accurate hardly hear the podcast in my car at full volume once again on the highway. Ferreira could stop being such that you vote about it would help us podcasters -- if they keep from one will pass the message on all right let's get to patriots head coach Bill Belichick who feel the injury report already operative. That's inordinately early going didn't give it to you here. Not practicing today Eric Alexander -- Sammy -- chest Benjamin Watson ankle. Limited participation in practice today we head. But -- Thomas ankle Kelley Washington hamstring. Full participation Tom Brady so -- ago by the way the dolphins out -- practice -- Trent green Vonnie Holliday Zach Thomas and Travares Tillman. Although I read in this himself Fordham Miami reports today that they expect Thomas to play on Sunday. Limited participation of the dolphins was David Martin tied in an ankle entry but they do expect him like aren't -- will get Russell here a couple mournful little wanted to coach Belichick coming up in just a little bit on this front comes to. I'm relieved to find the duel in Dallas an NFL replay last night and it just got to the first quarter of it. But when I watch the game highlights on HBO is for mr. Cameron big bill when he pulled paperwork out of the Sox. Luckily it was and from any other places where they want to cover other coaches the -- drop the holes surveillance thing. Well first of all I saw that on inside the NFL on HBO last night this is from Mike in Santa Clara and -- they're going to drop anytime soon number one just because of the notoriety of an -- number two because the patriots are undefeated there's naturally going to be cameras on the head coach of a team that's dominating. Teams as the patriots have done this point in time. And he keeps you know notes and things like that you know in his socks you know in his church leave it in the pouch of his. Sweatshirt I mean all over the place in unanimous tortured on last week that's where he kept you know some of the stuff like there in the year. Sox along with them you know that the red -- there was a Perot replay challenges. -- by the oh oh or two ago -- counteroffensive promised to call in after the game really call back this week. Not to my knowledge they didn't. Not to my knowledge. -- Vermont do you really think this patriots team well actually fall in trap and against the dolphins. Granted they have played us tough in years past they have really been bad but just traded their best receivers -- Thomas has gotten old kind of past Taylor is still a good pass rusher. Trent green is out for awhile Ronnie brown as their best player on offense by far. But their strength always was defects. That is not being good for the -- this year. Well let's -- defensively. Let's just take a look at us statistically -- they get a 325 yards a game that is 19. 19 currently out of 32 teams in the NFL on Rusch defects they are next to last. In the NFL they've given up 168 point five yards on the ground that's 31 out of 32 taints. -- Stevens has been certainly respectable their third overall past the fence statistically mum 183 point seven. And his legal since there what we have the patriots was the sixth but given a -- yardage from now that's a -- arm. But at least at 183 point seven statistically speaking they have -- at least better than average job. It limiting teams all offensively so as a verbalize that we've talked about how some of their inexperience in the secondary may have the patriots licking their chops. And of course the fact that their porous somewhat rush defense wise. But a year you'd think that well maybe the patriots want to -- and run the football and yet they may not be at full strength and run the football. Kind of -- of the sort of a perplexing situation how would you game plan and I think that's a really good question of the day. Rather than you know asking the obvious -- arguably should score prediction for Sunday which we all. -- are pretty much in agreement here that the patriots you know are going to and should be favored to win and and it probably going to win this thing let's let's do this. How would you game plan for the dolphins. How would you game plan that all of us what would you think the patriots need to do in order to take Miami out of the game. As quickly as possible. We'll give you a chance to play Josh McDaniel for just a few minutes. Give you a chance here to world got to look at simply dean Ps and be the defensive coordinator it is well how would you game plan. How would you game plan I I'd be interested to know what you think web radio at patriots dot com 5 wait 5437482 is the telephone number. But think about that for a second knowing that you're you're 17 point road favorite. You going into a place that you have really never had a lot of success in the past over. You know what's going to be hot you know to -- humanly could even be raining on Sunday how would you game plan that what you think Ron would you think pads. How would you go about would you attack Cleo Lemon would you try to stop Ronnie brown and just let somebody else beat you I mean I think that so I think that's -- good question as any --"

Play from 40:26[40:26]" You know all of a and with that. That means that are good Fred Russell Baxter the NFL research coordinator for the champion joint appearance that label how would you. Lineup against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday -- in and try to lump. Insure your team -- they win or at least gets out of south Florida without a lot of damage done."

Play from 40:47[40:47]" Well I'd probably go without a bag of popcorn person indeed. I think I would just continue to do what I'm doing hand -- that the beauty with a New England Patriots do is you can never tell what they're going to do. And you know I know that there except Miami and it's not been the patriots paper placed a plate Tom Brady's favorite place to play and so on but. I think big -- changed a lot in Miami even since last year you know it's it's it's interesting -- the you know would last the patriots -- in Miami they lost 21 not. Well the patriots haven't lost a regular game sense and the dolphins have a one. A regular came -- games that it's true though a lot of things could change and I think I think the change most Miami is that deep sense. Once -- once perplexing -- making Derek Anderson than other quarterbacks around the -- like golf starts every week it's really quite demise and amateur what's going on with the organization but. He saw a lot of noted bases -- in the Aussie Peter B get cut it via trade. Or be a free agency you just saw Chris chambers arguably the best receiver it was just treated onto the agency Diego chargers com things are certainly different down the --"

Play from 42:07[42:07]" Well you know another try to put a brave front but I I asked this question yesterday. And I end -- over with a yesterday and all of that Harvey Greene from the dolphins -- the show and the that you think this is a sort of a waving the white flag. And obviously Harvey did didn't think so but -- year or was sort of along with those lines like look. You know it's not going to happen that you were already six games out we're not going to make the playoffs you know we've lost their quarterback we've got a good running back you know it's maybe time to see who really wants to play here it -- strip it down with a bare bones and try to build. But the problem is in the NFL you just don't have a lot of time to be patient and I wonder how patient Miami ownership and fans will be with cam Cameron."

Play from 42:49[42:49]" You know it's funny said the waving the white flag because it wasn't all that long ago. Actually we should -- 19721. It was I think just offered -- the wave the white -- sure in the stand and what started you know and so -- of course it was point five years ago now and you know it's a lot of talk this year that. You know but the patriots in the actually a lot of talk about the dolphins will develop and win a game this year but figured I agree I mean very. Have to find out who's -- it is kind of policies and I don't like -- he -- and so -- but I I don't -- like I firmly believe it's harder to witness in this -- this is undefeated -- Lotta people -- the raiders were going to go winless last year also they won two -- Guerrero and they only got -- let's let's see what happens Miami. Has been able to at least move the ball Robby brown -- Saturday very very good season to date and so on -- is that -- deep fences -- is that big disappointment."

Play from 43:45[43:45]" While a look at their their schedule -- far and other six losses three of them were decided by one possession. Immediately literally a field goals the opening game with the overtime loss at Washington. And then the court they lost a game with the jets in my field goal in the loss to the game Houston on last second -- as well also. I mean you know with the you know a couple of exceptions here and there this could be at three -- three team. It can't be as bad as a point six would tell you walked."

Play from 44:11[44:11]" That's right and you know I feel it's funny is that this St. Louis Rams get less attention that the Miami Dolphins and you know would be given all the injury -- be physical with church on. They can be seen like more activity that they have a longer season and a dolphins have -- made their offensive line has been different just about every week you know they lost the quarterback for a couple games there all pro pro bowl running back I think Bruce has been banged up their defenses not very good it was a very good last year. So it's funny it's it's it's I hear so much about Miami and get to beat saint Louis is actually been. More adept. But for different reasons. And it's it's ironic because of both the dolphins in the rams lose this week you know -- it would be the worst start in the history of both their franchises the dolphins of course go only go back in 1966 is an expansion team in the AFL but when you talk about the rams to talk about 70 years back to the Cleveland -- in 1937 and so. Both of them on the purposes of doing something historic course of this Miami loses that means doing what wins. And the pitcher to do some historic they've never been so evident though in their team history."

Play from 45:28[45:28]" Right well the common theme and threat I guess going into this game is that in Miami has never been a place for the patriots have faired well in fact. They're two and five since Bill Belichick became coach here in New England. There one and 13 in Miami since 1971 when they're playing the dolphins during either September or October towards the early. Early in the season you know heat a factor type of game one and 13 Tom Brady two and four. Overall against the dolphins on the few teams he hasn't had a whole lot of success against and the fact that this team lost 21 zip last year held Brady the 78 yards in passing in the game of course that was last and they lost the AFC champ which applause so. I mean you know you'd take a look at you say how could the patriots be honestly a 17 point favorite. And I you know without having watched the dolphins for an entire game yet this year and kind of relying on others who have seen a little bit more the dolphins to say how does this."

Play from 46:25[46:25]" Well I think it's been more I think that this surprised John has been. Defensively and if you do I think like people were aren't thinking that they did in Miami. It's such an underdog curious because it has been that -- instead it's compounded that they eat we gained the New England one. In Miami and -- the games they want to up in New England this routine that is given them problems would -- and I I think. Defected to desensitize all off that's why they're good case for alarm indicate so you know people thinking that -- that number he could have his way. It's -- let me -- look at it means the jets. I want one game this year they scored 31 points and it against the last week the browns scored 41 cowboys scored 37 on the board against -- so. This is a team if not stopping anyone did you know there's no potent pass rush Jason tell it was a defensive player of the year last year and he hasn't been the same factor he's been he's been good -- means there is a very good the fact Thomas has been banged up and they didn't riddled against -- the raiders went in their -- for almost 300 yards against them. And Daunte Culpepper effort retouched and so. That's a cause -- it is Miami it's just a different version of Miami and it's an unlikely version of Miami. Could sure we -- deep sense with the and that's been the steady blocked them for eight or nine years even though they have been for the playoffs since 2001. But that Iraq is certainly --"

Play from 47:55[47:55]" Here's a couple of numbers Korea and you probably come across these the patriots have never scored more than 19 points. In a game at Miami in October."

Play from 48:05[48:05]" What I kind of -- about that -- but I brick scenery called group that to beat Pete did. Might have been paid and over brad timed it Troy brown touchdown pass. Yeah from Tom Brady up in 2003 I think that was in 1913 -- yes it was so we were -- only scored 19 points he did it very economically very."

Play from 48:23[48:23]" Very true and no one more Fauria probably more aware this when Tom Brady 31 an -- in his career as a starter in regular season division games. Five of those losses -- to the dolphins."

Play from 48:34[48:34]" Yeah I mean you go back to that the patriots include the playoffs 26 and seven of their last 33 divisional games for the seven losses to Miami. If so that's what you're up against just. You know one of those Miami wins by the way not in Miami to one in New England was of course bit the game at the end of this season were -- came out and Miami one up and doing well when they were on that -- the end of the year in 2005 big famous or infamous dropped two games. What Doug Flutie so -- that the Miami win but it really wasn't the story what was going on that year pro with Miami sub in the dolphins you know finish tonight at seven in the game behind that the patriots who were ten and six. But that was kind of ridiculously -- It's kind of a -- but there's no doubt that they had had trouble with Miami's defense is no trouble with the law by my whole point along areas. Is this the same defense that we've seen in recent years and it looks like TD coated shell. Of its former self."

Play from 49:40[49:40]" Yeah no doubt it does you think also may -- in someone else -- at any mail -- bring this up early you think it's getting a little long in the tooth in the words out I was quite work out after a court."

Play from 49:49[49:49]" In about I mean you know Zach Thomas was directed the seniors Tedy Bruschi what. You know Jason Taylor has been around quite a few years they used assorted veterans they've not great this is not a team that -- overly well traded away their draft picks you know they've dealt them for quarterbacks and so on -- they've not restock the candidates here in the very least. And you know you've got to have young talent to supplement. What you do and if you don't replace that -- he can't just keep on patching things would free agency trades. Doesn't work that way -- worked -- way to Redskins would be dynasty -- And let's I don't get to this in the second here -- When you do get a good football player I mean a really good football player a guy who can catch passes and had a pinch. Kick field goals. Return punts return kickoffs. Do everything you ask him to do and you trait of the to a division rival for a second round draft pick them. Maybe not the smartest thing you've ever done. And that will be interesting we see -- to Wes Welker return to Miami you know this weekend and this is it I find it interesting because that this is a dolphins team that needs help in so many. Different areas and it's just I find it -- by the big big -- trade like that within the division. And got a guy who has been -- nemesis for the patriots for the three years. And by the way a rookie free -- did Wes -- so what we've elected wasted a draft pick on them right -- coverage -- album. You know they they found a diamond in the rough and I go check up because the second round pick. But they want a trade him entity and you think Wes Welker had an impact in doing what so far this year."

Play from 51:39[51:39]" Just a little -- Are well we kind of started talking about the of the patriots and dolphins in them -- will come back then in the about it think quite frankly that they've we may be talked out about that already in the division the second place -- colts. They're at home. And that got the Baltimore ravens and I wonder if Baltimore's deep into planet trying to attack Trent Edwards an NC they can't get the bills -- comfort zone let's keep in mind now buffalo should have beaten Dallas at home a couple of weeks ago."

Play from 52:10[52:10]" Yeah and it it is the pretty feisty buffalo team they've had a couple weeks to get over that was you know they've they've had a lot of things. Go all up in buffalo this year you go back to the Kevin leverage situations. So you know it's been heavy -- year for them they now have a new quarterback Trent Edwards who you know it's I think it's too early to reach an effective he's going to be the ultimate replacement for -- lust at first but he is at least this week it may be for a couple of future weeks I think they want to wait and see what he's capable of and so on more importantly. It's the return of Willis McGahee. To the buffalo area Drew and it felt like he won't be visiting at applebee's. We're TGI Friday's or David busters any time sent and you know. Baltimore comes up here another forward too I think their defense is another team that's a little long in the tooth. They've had trouble the fourth quarter -- the rams game last week forget that the rams have no offense -- They've had some problems in the fourth quarter this year they still manage to win four games they've had their own turn over problems Kabul was going to start this week. I think it's going to be unhappy return for Willis McGahee the ravens and I'd like to -- to pull the -- big surprise while all over the ravens this week."

Play from 53:29[53:29]" While that would be a little bit surprised obvious jets are playing at Cincinnati it's about two teams and it's coach high hopes. Coming into the season that I've just completely fallen. Flat on their you know what's jets one and five Cincinnati 14 is it still conceivable that the survivor not winner here the survivor this game can turn their season around in time."

Play from 53:50[53:50]" Well I don't know if the jets can't win if they are still capable of surviving them at -- one and five compared to one and four and so on but this is the for the game that I think would be better suited for election year because -- really concerned itself put budget -- one Chad wish struggling another Chad who is. Struggling in a different way yeah of course -- Chad Pennington who has been the target of every criticism no demanded New York area because see. Hasn't played well opposed to Chad Johnson who -- you know quickly. Gone from being this kind of lovable fun loving guy. To cut it seems like rubbing it. People the wrong way. And I'll look at starter with the Hall of -- jacket that we Kwan. What effect if they just haven't won but he saw -- showing with Marvin Lewis last week on the sidelines. A couple of weeks ago when he was doing when the Monday's -- with Carson Palmer it's it's it's we gave -- hanging chads and I think Cincinnati if they win as a better shot just based on van but both of these teams have dug themselves a very very --"

Play from 54:55[54:55]" Yup yup that the most definitely now I under I am stunned -- that that. In particular the Cincinnati bad angles where you know the thought process was that that was a team. In fact even before the that the week leading up the game that the patriots played in Cincinnati that this was a team that was eminently capable. Beating anybody any given day and that the powerful offense and we just we haven't seen anything. And one of its just because the defense has been so bad that you sort of overwhelmed the almost the entire roster."

Play from 55:24[55:24]" Well I think there's a combo couple things -- going John I think it's the fact that. They haven't had a Rudi Johnson who won a more reliable backs in the -- I think its effect it's an offensive line it's got a little banged up. But the last few years had a tissues last year it's still active issues this year and it's lost one of its better -- free agency of Eric Steinbach went to Cleveland. In this off season I think he lost a little attitude there as well a lot of things seem to be -- in Cincinnati right now they were very very big favorite idea what I very big -- I think respectable favored to get back to the play also it or win the AFC north this year and they just they look. Disinterested for lack of a better word you know they've played good football at times but they have a plate consistent football and -- put a consistent effort together. And they learn how to play defense without relying on taking -- football they're going to be 18 intro you know they have 12 takeaways this year you know six in the win over the raiders -- in six and four losses she's just not the kind of -- you look at."

Play from 56:30[56:30]" No I would say enough I would say not. All right so that's the rest of the division obviously with the -- play in the Miami Dolphins. Honestly Russell is right is a look at the schedule this week there aren't too many games it really catch my I I'm going to -- what I think is the best for last which is your game on Monday night the is -- game. -- before we get to that. 11 with a little bit of intrigue as Minnesota playing Dallas the cowboys home again for second straight week they've got to bounce back after getting you know slapped by the by the the patriots. And I got to figure out a way to slowdown Adrian Peterson."

Play from 57:00[57:00]" Yeah they do and it it isn't it always a dangerous game when you are coming off an emotional game. That you're playing at home. And then here playing against an opponent you're quote quote expected to be. And yet this opponent is coming off being very very emotional we in the on the road and they're -- on the road again and I think this is very very tricky spot for -- their their decent. Had its problems last week not necessarily against Iraq but they certainly did against the past but this is no ordinary runner I think it's pretty obvious and he can not only hurt you on the ground he obviously can argue. On kickoff returns as well he was a major major factor. In a game last week he wanted to 361 combined yards days -- in over the bears her name is. Great to 24 on the ground and set up the kicked pretty kickoff return at the end -- the game winning field goal you know it's too early evening and rookie of the year put he's going to -- no bookie I mean it has some good players including chuck foreman and other -- no rookies ever run for a thousand yards in the history of Minnesota Vikings and did it seems so. Adrian Peterson micro wave area I think -- the what the over 600 already been in five games off the 224 which while highest -- rookie in history I will not be surprised I know it. Craziness not be surprised and Minnesota somehow finds a way to squeak this one now."

Play from 58:28[58:28]" Yeah I was gonna say the same thing. I'd would be surprised to see it happen although I think the Dallas will rebound but. I won't be stunned if -- going to be harder than it looks -- but it the vikings are making an interesting game there's also game involving a Minnesota's to division post. Tampa Bay playing at Detroit that would Detroit team. It's going to show up now."

Play from 58:49[58:49]" If you want to give them 90 points -- their two losses yeah or the war or the one that dominates because they're too little at home which won the big. It's it isn't it hard to tell I mean I think there's a reason this team. Won only three games pleasure -- other one every three game this year but. The two losses 562134 rate pretty not competitive to a degree especially the eagles game where they gave -- 42 points in the first half of the -- despite the fact that they have no running back -- signed Zack Crockett a week ago. And then just traded for Michael -- weather watch everybody else coach him up just keeps get it done because Jeff Garcia. Isn't turning over the football and they -- some nice contributions from young defensive players. We don't know Ronde Barber we know about their books the better route the rookie safety canard Jackson -- lot of pop in him these guys are making plays last week you know I don't potential got hurt the game but they still manage to stifle Tennessee on the ground did a terrific job and and Joey Galloway who is it probably reminded me of Darrell green in dissent and they play different positions. But to quote Chris -- some -- It's come into the league best had to go at a -- rest. And Joey Galloway was that's when he came in in 1995 but he still pretty -- quick as he provoked place in 2000."

Play from 1:00:12[1:00:12]" You know you mentioned Vince young in the titans play at Houston till he gets a chance to go home this week. If of course he's healthy -- to play do you think he will."

Play from 1:00:20[1:00:20]" You know it's it's it's so hard lawyer actually heard Jeff Fisher on with an interview with -- Rico yesterday I think it was right and even he -- the point that you know while he doesn't like to start coyotes or play guys -- practice all week. -- they are playing Houston -- divisional foe. Who they have a pretty good book on makes it a little easier for -- is prep time and it's one of those entries acquired were requires nothing but rest. There's nothing really know rehab to do with it and so want. So I won't be surprised if Pete plays if I had to guess right now but he gets he doesn't play both these teams have struggled to run the football the last couple weeks that's what made Houston off to -- no that's with big Tennessee off to their good start as well. My chart. We'll find some holes in the Tennessee -- because Tennessee people it's although it's very good can be burned by the big play which this year we get always last week you don't want to -- he will -- winner -- of the other quarterback doesn't play but Vince does so much for that Tennessee offense and it really dictates what they do. I guess somebody that's what I'll probably say if it's been shown isn't available I think he should win this game they've got a lot of trouble with Tennessee particularly they've lost eight of the ten times. They played each other put -- this in the very very pivotal game because you know we're going to see the other two teams in the division play on Monday night. And you know is this the what -- these teens kids women they just keep their head above water they can keep themselves with in the playoff race in the AF --"

Play from 1:01:57[1:01:57]" We get to that Monday night game you're just -- the patriots next week have Washington here it to Gillette. The Redskins are home this weekend taking on the Arizona Cardinals and magical couple teams that if they win. You know within the confines of the division they're pretty good shape."

Play from 1:02:13[1:02:13]" Yes and especially the cardinals who. Who lost what effect the only team -- didn't lose last week in the NFC west with San Francisco and it's it's nice when you can pick up I have to game because you don't play but the cardinals Seahawks at stamps all laws it seems like it's kind of a three team race anyway you lose the rams -- and six but the cardinals and Seahawks are both three of three and tied Arizona's these kids you can -- it's got a lot more attitude and as in past years but they're going to be certain looks like -- K. For the -- with their third quarterback -- third start actually third starting quarterback in three games Washington Jason cable I think continues to impress. So heartbreaking loss to Green Bay last week I just think Washington it's got a little too much muscle -- the office -- for this Arizona team and they got their pass rush back I think that the the Redskins have 15 sacks this year. They only had 19 all of last year they beat takeaways feeling 12. All pleasure of playing a lot better defense they're decent really get letter bail last week. Although the fact it probably dropped three or four -- four interceptions I kind of like the Redskins here."

Play from 1:03:25[1:03:25]" there is a game that you know for old AFC slash AFL foes and fans Pittsburgh playing Denver. On the Sunday night game certainly looks to be attractive but I I I just wonder. How good or how bad Denver really is and whether -- not this is an accurate test for Pittsburgh."

Play from 1:03:42[1:03:42]" Well Denver's defense had. Completely lost its ability to stop the -- and I I you know kidding where would object in the morning that you were talking. They're good at Denver Broncos had given up 938 yards rushing in talking to him. They said that obviously deeply 14 years you guys think about the ninth -- outlook about this. Yeah no kidding that's -- 30 -- given up you know what. -- 184 straight weeks and they've had two weeks could -- to try to fix what's going on jay Cutler needs some untimely throws but it's really good to be -- which can't rush -- can't stop the rot now Pittsburgh I think comes out trustees wrote Mobil one Denver they could get themselves in trouble -- and levied the place some people out stats. If you read right now the Broncos have the 32 ranked -- that they have the number one ranked -- They're fanatic. Why fly when you can try. The reason they have been number one ranked pass these it because they have that 32 ranked. Rush defense. Okay teams are running on them that the rankings are based on yards. Okay so why bother to throw the ball when you can run with great success -- and we've seen it yet even he gains early in the season when Denver was beating buffalo in Oakland we saw -- run all over them and in these last three losses Jacksonville may have held them. And of course with what -- Diego did to them 413 in Denver which just stunning. Absolutely -- Blog about it that it -- try to come out approachable I think -- get themselves in trouble. Pittsburgh -- run the ball but I think they've -- it deceptively this year they need to get back to what more power football and we -- thing."

Play from 1:05:31[1:05:31]" I go back the old adage that did their royal once said they're two things that happened actually three things can happen when you pass the football two of them are bad. And I should be Pittsburgh moniker and this week."

Play from 1:05:41[1:05:41]" Yeah IDS they get themselves behind which takes them out of the running game. -- and then it becomes a whole different ball right."

Play from 1:05:48[1:05:48]" And of course that leads me into -- what I think is that certainly that the premier game of the week in the NFL schedule here in weeks evidence the game that that you guys have. On on ESPN's Monday Night Football with the colts playing at Jacksonville. Final windy four and one Jacksonville Jaguars played some pretty decent defense right now the -- seemed to be the colts which is still pretty good."

Play from 1:06:09[1:06:09]" Jacksonville which gave up 282 yards rushing 282 in their opening game. Has given up two -- combined of the last four you they've really buckled down to give them a lot of created if David Corey hasn't thrown an interception yet this year. Been more careful with the football or start to get the in the passing game going. With the running game afraid Taylor Maurice Jones Drew their defense it is it is very serious and of course they also remember when the COLT came back on the Jacksonville lecture 40 force seven team charitable rent for 375 yards. In the game obviously the colts are trying to keep pace for lack of error with New England as we await the next regained the sentries and we just finished the relaxed. The last -- in this country -- week they'll only going to be so great only employed two more weeks of and and try to go success though. After the third straight year by the way deal which Wie to other teams in NFL history -- done that it would be 13 they just. Traditionally get off to these great starts. They also get a lot of people back this week -- that when they play Tampa Bay's last that we saw they didn't have Mark Harrison. They didn't have chosen to -- he didn't have -- theaters and they still want a winning comfortably there executing very very broad acceptance for a couple of weeks. There's a little role reversal going on the radio city it probably first second shots -- right now and it's it's very early in the season okay obviously. But right now got a flashback to 2004 and right now the patriots -- the colts of 2004. And the colts look like the patriots of 2004. The patriots -- put all the points on the board at winning. The colts are making the plays at the end of games and winning. And if you go back to that season now of course you have been doing what what the superbowl here they were 14 into team indeed had a little midseason slump and so one but Brady just put me up demanding numbers. And the colts are making plays against the -- on -- match out at the end of games to preserve wins. It's kind of an interesting reversal of fortune now I don't -- talk of the turnout but right now is just kinda interesting to watch them. Kind of Geary each other from three years ago it with any luck Indianapolis. Continue to win that we would continue to win and we'll see one of the war. As far as record goes what -- most celebrated games were ever going to see if both these teams can remain undefeated but let me just throw out one. Number about -- six -- out there because there's been a lot of talks and I'm not trying to be killed -- The talk about the patriots going undefeated obviously it's a discussion that is that it's come up everywhere to the lord wants it to us. I think it's not been dominant yet it yet. I just want to remind people. The patriots being fixed it now. I actually John any guesses at comedy teams have opened or how many times the team is opened six you know. Dating back to the Super Bowl where. -- 18 only time these times it's happened six and a"

Play from 1:09:16[1:09:16]" not talking just 6 period or teams no matter which are better probably just a handful I'd -- you were like three to five okay knowing what this is the 45 time. The team is open -- or better overall Bobble there as many yes and it Indianapolis went to -- a 46. My point is this once we get out and senate now that you're going to start to get -- rarefied air. But I just need everybody to just take it -- little notch. And so I've ever rammed it into out tonight think actually scored more points in the NB patriots stated. In -- six and -- start and then they wonder when he losing in the wildcard I think that's what's going to happen but we haven't gotten really to the rarefied air yet. We get to eight you know at nine you know I think that's what it's gonna get exciting for. Either one of these teams whoever winds of being although -- would be they've won the time in week 9 get everybody all it is the losing pitcher who would know and so that's on -- trying to be -- and so but six you know happens a lot more. That you think yeah but we could be no intended and you start talking about serious series history."

Play from 1:10:25[1:10:25]" Let me ask you this then the survivor of this game and a couple of weeks then do they have a legitimate chance to challenge the 72 dolphins."

Play from 1:10:33[1:10:33]" Why I think once you get the head of the state might think you'll -- and the one thing about you know it has -- the doing the patriots seven their favor. They won 21 games in a -- before. They prove they can do it take holding NFL record okay they just didn't happen to do at all once beaten. But that they've proven they can they can. We had 21 games in a rotten which no team has ever done -- in the previous record Miami would 18 belt the thing is. You're -- need to win in 19 to win the Super -- because that's what it takes now there is not going to be -- if if one of these teams is going to make history to record a BB 17 and no colts were 17 you know patriots it's going to have to be in 19 you know. -- patriots right. So it's obviously -- harder just based on the bat and so on but in doing the sabres knowing that they have achieved this before. -- ultimately do you think Indianapolis when this game Monday night yeah I think they find a way to win. I think fight I'm not going to be surprised that they lose but I think they find a way to win ended bad for them will give them a big forget them. Big picture things that would give them a big wake up in the division because that they do wind Monday they walked out -- they did not do last year at all. And that is defeat each of their divisional opponents on the road. Last year they lost all three of their divisional road game people forget they lost that we we -- objectionable lost. But they looked at Tennessee lost at Houston they've already beat the titans and the Texans on the road this year they don't win at Jacksonville puts them in tremendous position. To win the BA if he's out once again."

Play from 1:12:11[1:12:11]" Right Russell is always great stuff. Great stuff it's always going to talk to you maybe look forward to the weekend not but I would reportedly in anyway but you know what I mean right mother."

Play from 1:12:20[1:12:20]" So who listened to -- there's that I know there were a bit to -- it's like -- you know okay he can shoot 112 on the front nine. There really did shoot once all the friends come from a club to play but really anything is that it gave golf. No I don't know that -- there's no such thing your perspective what -- some affable played. But as -- said."

Play from 1:12:46[1:12:46]" On a couple of weeks leading into the -- week you know we're not going to take the week off here on the program -- that you'll look forward to playing you know some some good. Solid match game type game shows with a -- I was."

Play from 1:12:57[1:12:57]" Hoping you were going to -- concentration -- look for that policy that was nice you got Gary work in concentration. Q Gail -- not that not Schilling have to -- and give it all away yeah I would remember that theme song that we could even find. I don't look at -- concentration Olympic. I don't think he counted often associated with you know he's not you don't count from 21 when he wanted to concentrate and Barbara Walters I don't know. Shocking isn't yet."

Play from 1:13:27[1:13:27]" Thanks Russell have a great weekend you'd seek -- target next week the other. Russell Baxter. Who is the NFL research coordinator for yet again and of course. He's the guy that yeah I've said the several times for those that may not know exactly who Russell is. He's the guy that these all the info the stuff that we talk about here in the program all the racers that he does he beats oldest to boomer and to TJ and the guys on the set and two you know -- Rico and in the end the guys in the Monday Night Football game and you know he's the he's the brains behind the brawn go on the field so we appreciate -- spending some time with us in with you here and said play Boca. Each and every Thursday here on patriots dot com radio. For a let's see let's go with web radio at patriots dot com that the email address we'll get to a few of them here. We -- you you know -- certainly on Thursday we want you predict the score the game but what I also want you to do today is tell me how you would game plan this thing. I mean knowing that you you you've got an obvious task ahead of you you've got more talent than the other guys. You probably going to win this game but how do you how do you devise a plan. What are you going to a situation where you've really had a hard time when it before -- to be muggy and hot may be little rainy as well and the and you know you put these two things these two teams on paper and your overmatched. What do you do first how do you go about shutting down the dolphins how do you. In short the fact that you've come out of Miami with a win so. You play a little Josh Daniels if you will you play a little VPs if you will you game plan for this. You know it sounds to me like -- some. Not exactly win win scenario it's a lose lose scenario but no matter what happens you know if you don't win impressively enough well in all my gosh what's wrong with the patriots. You know you're supposed to win you're supposed to win going away how do you game plan how do you guard against that. Web radio at patriots dot com email address -- who is. Agreement from Huntington Beach, California says. It's definitely hard to imagine the patriots not winning this weekend but that was also hard to imagine them not winning last December when they were shot out 21 nothing. And -- the patient loses time but the team is 14 an own week 16 I do think that the dolphins will be a team to watch out or because pages will be coasting into the playoffs. The dolphins will have a preservation of the only a person idea preservation of the only undefeated team history in mind. The only advantage for the -- there is that the game is in Foxboro. He says this weekend patriots 34 dolphins ten. Ronnie brown as a force to worry about especially since the team struggled -- on some plays versus Barbara Jones last week. Howard Dallas also have a have a component -- that I couldn't care less about the -- broccoli. That Miami does not thank you jail for -- it is a little slow trigger other receivers and quarterback. I'm going to keep pounding the point because when it happens I want to be on record as saying it would have from the beginning. The biggest game of the year is not pats versus colts as everyone says -- with -- good reason the biggest game of the year is pats versus Steelers. I really believe that the Steelers are better than the colts and that they're -- it is currently allowing less than ten points per game. -- the very least we're talking about the Super Bowl winning teams of the past three years. At least we've gotten a few things talked about between now in the Indy Miami usually wins in Miami and Belichick has never beaten Washington. That's also good point which I'm sure will bring them next week. Question about the -- what exactly does take qualifier player for IR after the have to be rules otherwise it's much too convenient way to -- players or developing them for a year to I guess like at the OP UP question -- well put five receivers on the active list to a BP was just in case you have injuries. Going through the year. Obviously players want to play and you want your best players on the field all the time but what's to stop a team. From taking a backup receiver like -- here Caldwell calling a mild ankle sprain of PUP injury. And then and then two weeks it is a potential back up without roster cost well -- that's that's the sort of the wink wink nudge nudge you know. Seeing him on know what I mean type of thing goes on with the PUP in the IR. -- honestly I don't know if a player cannot play. Based on what the coaching staff knows I guess based on the reports from positions what have you you know you can put them on the IRI I don't know that there's a definitive rule behind it as the nitty gritty I don't have -- priming that we can kind of try to figure that out for here and and look it up but you know. The way that injuries are in this league in nobody's air terribly forthcoming with -- injuries seem like anybody could be candidate priority and there's always a wink wink you know type of injury going on. And you can look at any team I'm not talking about just the patriots lot of teams do this -- it will try to hide guys on the IRA if not the UB you know just because they don't want to risk them being waived and being picked up by somebody else. So that's just one of those things that. -- you know obviously. -- a player is injured. And the players not expected to be available to play for a particular game. And he could be out for a longer then you know -- weeks amount of time. You can put him on the injured reserve seat that way you can go any typical player qualifies somebody from your -- reserve list from your practice squad. That would you have you know you have -- able -- the injured reserve list protects them. And it also allows you to have in theory and able bodied player available in a particular week. I don't know that the answer your question terribly well at least that's coming on looking Dave says I would agree that a lot of rain could help Miami's week especially if Maroney and -- can't play. Leaving us with fewer backs since in general it's harder to pass in bad weather and passing is the strength of our offense. On the other hand Heath Evans is a bigger back whom they do well breaking tackles on the slick field and -- can certainly pick up extra carries when needed. Also the forecast I saw only predicted scattered showers not at all they downpours don't think that would be a big deal. It shouldn't cut down the heat for us bottom line the path of -- away a better team and I think they -- proven on the field as they have been doing all year. Fair enough good assessment there shall we go ahead and get into a coach -- chicken this time. Let's do that we've still got time for you to century emails and as we continue to read those. Web radio at patriots dot com your email predictions and how you would game plan for what seemed to be a one sided match. Against the Miami don't at least on paper now. I realized it again it viewers tuning interviewed -- log on this has been horrible place to play for the patriots -- house of hours it was last year and losing 21 up. So how could you be overconfident going at a place that you've never really -- an appreciable amount of success before in the past. Maybe you feel that in your game plan as well. So send does that email web radio patriots dot -- let's pause here a couple of moments and bring you patriots coach bill --"

Play from 1:20:45[1:20:45]" Versatile don't have here it yesterday -- Jeff Fisher talking as a member."

Play from 1:20:51[1:20:51]" Talking -- the situation that is about time here with you -- and every case he's human and yeah the rules but -- was just trying to hurt them on. In R -- I'm sure though they summit of interest and ultimately analysis. It is it sort of you can take it okay then works. The rules are there. You know minute test that they've changed and Darren here so I don't know whether it will all whatever is struck. -- what are the rules and understand what. Christina Emmett has come up but does and it's. Absolutely do. Bill and I think yeah. Watson couldn't find them as a receiver you -- either -- works Parcells reversible kind of players. Hello it is going to multiples feels very -- all those guys we feel like me to -- them. The do all things could be called on positive element blog on the occasion it's kind of things for the position you know Karl's -- who has done it. And do you know make them. His -- in the it was buffalo him bouncing him I mean he can do you know bands all of them walking in Parcells that bill animal. What is like. I don't know but I think that's. You don't play that position if you only do one thing utterly helpless. Well as the player them as the -- the system so. It's and get teams sometimes get and a run has do you know the one band around it and got the pessimists -- that we want to date. The unemployed for guys in the passing game our. And on the other guy is -- Five or success in the running game it was another blocker so it's just that limits what you can do."

Play from 1:23:30[1:23:30]" You mentioned yesterday -- teams systems -- Miami Heat of that you positive impact on -- round I was coming here and so did you tell -- production you know."

Play from 1:23:42[1:23:42]" Oh yeah another yeah it was a great production so. How much -- a part of the system how much power and you know much -- exactly other breaks down in place. He's a very productive seasons every year offensively -- they move the ball they score points on the -- a lot of problems for him both the running game and the passing game and the play action game as it certainly -- sprouts all the running game so. Got a lot of big plays on the play action passes there that improbable. About the titans' receivers or -- athletics. You know they have but they've pretty good balance -- Karl Benson that touchdown for the production notes I'm Ron brown certainly a key guy don't get me wrong but. Appointed guys that are important to him -- head office this year Wellesley just solid all around because he's starting to play action that opens up some. Big plays in the passing game that."

Play from 1:24:44[1:24:44]" You know a lot of doing my best right."

Play from 1:24:56[1:24:56]" Not good mostly guys or Russian. Don't have ever you know it's horrible video player brought responsibility coverage responsibilities. I have to cover all the all the older receivers and so did you have -- with a man zones combination of different ways do about. The guys are responsible for the people in coverage a responsible for the guys or Russian Rusch. -- the same guys but however you break that up in your defensive call. It's hard giving both the legacy usually end up getting neither. Your game Russian and -- guy does you know him cover busy. Didn't sample. -- gonna you know whatever excellence that's. Play from 1:27:36[1:27:36]" Knowing okay okay."

Play from 1:27:42[1:27:42]" Well I think there day. They do whatever else."

Play from 1:28:04[1:28:04]" I'm like okay."

Play from 1:28:06[1:28:06]" Definitely it it works hard. Mature along. He's got a lot of progress."

Play from 1:28:47[1:28:47]" And thank you."

Play from 1:28:48[1:28:48]" One of the shorter visits four build military members of the patriots mean that I can remember in. In recent history at the very least maybe it's because there's just not that much more. To talk about when it comes to. Tackle the Miami Dolphins on Sunday will find out and if it's a closer game and a lot of people expect that'll certainly was some from the spin on for next week moment coach Belichick of course from earlier today here at Gillette stadium is more in our number two patriots playbook from John rook coming up in about a ten minutes we'll get off inside the patriots locker room. Tom Brady Ellis Hobbs Kevin -- Kyle ankle today. Also Roosevelt Colvin and Heath Evans. We have three of the patriots running backs that stand to get a at least. Spread the amount of carries if Laurence Maroney does indeed not. Go in the -- running back slot on Sunday although he was out of practice earlier today. On limited participation practice with his groin injury as they've termed it but he did it participate in the meantime back to the emails here a couple of moments are prince got in Washington DC says John. Talking about game shows I was always big fan of wing Martin -- tic tac toe. Sorry you got the dragon. Remember that -- to the good with a three wood what was that the with a vastly underrated game show. Gary vastly under that -- tech go it was techtag -- that's right they played it tick -- so style but it techtag deal one of my favorite game shows of all time -- that was really under rated was them. Press your luck. Human impression luck with the winning. Absolutely today that want to get a birthday card secured absolutely no enemies OMB's it's -- dollars. Yeah absolutely as a great game shall love that. And a heck of a lot better than the new Miami game show that doing game show on network which was sort of a modernized version of pressure what pressure is much better I think under as I understand it the guy who hosted pressure lock. Died recently -- not too long ago Tom if I'm not mistaken in his name is escaping a -- of pressure -- was a good Scott says I'm a little worried about our ground game in the ability of the Miami do you seemingly always give -- hard time but I like are deep it's putting a -- especially after Dallas receiver Creighton silly comments criticizing the patriots statements so my guess for the scores a modest 24 to ten. Patriots opened right that we win but I hope I'm wrong about the score that we can't get into the 30s again because I love the air of invincibility it is creating. Which hopefully has an impact on future opponents' minds in Moscow that's it that's a great point I think. A lot of people like it does you know beat -- you know pulled out of teams just because -- to market that's who it was Peter tomorrow -- crash the plane crash. How long -- wasn't -- to say. Fairly recently 6 yeah thoughts -- a year ago Peter to Mark. Well thanks for this it is a little audio. But if that's wonderful special I have to get on a plane tomorrow thank you a thanks a lot for a -- gimme one more of those from my computer. And thanked -- that's what I feel like going with a today anyway after -- or hours of computer -- bomb. The air of invincibility I think there's something today because if you keep rutted up 30s on on on teams. You give people look at a chance to say you know if you keep badgering them in in Indian blasting them with those going to scores helicopter was formed them in the answers well. How can we stop the millions as well we can't we can only hope to slow them down. So I -- to some to that is great for water cooler talk to win you know your team as the patriots and you know you're you're facing your you know your cubicle mates best team the next the next Sunday it certainly helps in that written in that regard but yeah you -- like -- that there for as long as we can no doubt Ken says are at a party sent the email but he didn't -- the game plan question until at parties -- and so here's my game plan. Cake and -- you're entitled there's because you -- want to email there's no moratorium on exit in as many as like here sometimes we get that on this program that one stack the box. Stop Ronnie brown early in the rush the -- aggressively. Patriots -- wide receivers -- causing -- in the -- with -- extra -- almost -- mix -- the makes it with the extra pressure is and where he's coming from. We'll bring him often. I definitely want to stack the I would agree with that he get him try to make anybody -- want Cleo limited Beecher. Destroy other comments was short and mid range passing place show the dolphins at the pats can pass on the will. Utilized crossing routes over the middle the field sending -- long. Get the ball Welker and Stallworth for good yards after the catch once Miami adjusts that's and a 40 yarder to moss. Mix in a few runs don't even bother to try to keep the Miami deepens honest showing them that they can't win. No matter what will destroy the already fragile confidence of the team now resigned to rebuilding year and not interested in playing their artist making the play of getting injured. I think that's a great point can. I actually think you what you want to you want to beat this team and you want to beat them down quickly. You want ID you want to go over the top you want to you know pound them pound them pound them and then hit them long I you want to not come out of -- Some adult that just because it's Miami they won't do that but I guarantee -- that would be I think that is good way to go isn't. He says the first quarter this game is more important than anything else ego. -- they come out with nothing to lose -- of New -- shows dominance -- early Miami will quickly lose heart in full the game. Easily it's pretty good analysis Stephen Montana my game plan for the patriots would be to not miss the boss. Get off the plugs put on uniforms don't stay in the locker room. Be on the field at the start of the game stay at the game until it so. Come on now are you kidding me. Thanks Steve thanks for playing a game. We gonna have some talk about around your -- a -- are you kidding me. I mean what would you want to that we could just sign off and sign on only when they lose our. Mum now that that's an attachment which I am not going to open so sorry. Believing it will be okay yeah. Now obviously aren't given -- I that we -- thank you Stephen. I'm wondering about it running back has build I'll check on after player to fill in for more to me this is concerned. Now and I don't think he will first ball that you use you know we've got Laurence Maroney was at least back limited somewhat this week and because mora may be out. For a few weeks himself I would not be surprised to see -- return to the field this week I thought he was ready to go a week or two ago and I think -- kind of kept him on the sideline because Morris was running so well. But this would be a perfect opportunity -- wanted to step back in. Arm and I hope he does if not I think you'll see Kevin Faulk get the majority of the carries and while -- carries and I why no that's not the optimum. Thing that anybody would like to see in the yet to give -- some. Benefit of the doubt here and says you know fall has been around for a while he certainly -- than anything and everything in terms of you know pulling his fair share and I think he deserves the opportunity to be that guy if the injuries keep the other guys out. As far as the game 4514 patriots patriots are much better team this year -- we keep -- next year in Donte' Stallworth what do you think while. Do we've got to jump around a little bit about the Steven thanks for the email and I know the POW guys have talked about this is well. I think you're actually much more likely to keep moss that you're stall worth because stalwarts contract as a back loaded. Which means more money would come due next year I'd love to see them keep both of there's a way that they can maneuver cap wise I'm not so sure that that's possible."

Play from 1:36:56[1:36:56]" I think that if you had to make wondered judgment or or an or the other over one of those two guys that moss would probably be more cap friendly. With that just my thought. And then Steve sizzle -- almost forgot score prediction for Sunday I'll be kind patriots 41 dolphins and right now you -- thank you Steve for the team appreciate that. All right let's get the locker room to love -- of the program today and again that will be back of course saint -- time saint -- channel next Tuesday for our next division of the playbook. As though will little recap the the game with the dolphins from the Sunday that -- dolphins stadium and that will begin looking forward to returning home after -- three week absence. And facing the Washington Redskins here at Gillette stadium month in that. One week in the mean time four you know now we have Tom Brady we have a cornerback Ellis Hobbs on running back Kevin Faulk running back Kyle tackle linebacker Roosevelt Colvin and running back Heath Evans inside the patriots locker room for -- room for you today as they discuss. What do might take to beat the Miami Dolphins."

Play from 1:38:03[1:38:03]" intimately -- things aren't always well"

Play from 1:38:14[1:38:14]" it's great defense. It's a gorgeous afterwards that you watch it is that the team's plan over the last six years in. There's things that are open and we get down there it's like -- They always seem to have to answer for whatever we challenge myself had some rough rough days offensively against them and it's the same group of guys that are always Lehman -- pants so. It's going to be big test big offense that know their their record obviously. I don't think clearly indicates what type team they are they've been in a what you close games -- a lot of talent. And they're they're they're. Because they always they always have the right answers so it's going to be. When he -- great days of practice -- and hopefully we can. Do better we've done the last what two times we played -- court yet they don't they don't do them as much record this year. But I at any time we got Jason Taylor -- the ball and Zach Thomas. Those two have been a staple that the event since I came into the NFL and there. There are always making plays on the ball if they don't make mistakes they're great leaders here communication has always. Right on so as long as those two guys there were always in overtime with them because they're they're so disciplined in what they do win. There was McMahon plays out. We'll see treat them you know we got -- on a great job. There's no doubt about that I'm sure he'll have to play this week it you know we'll see how that goes -- Hopefully he's back out there Susan good out there the other backs in the meantime -- at that they'll enacting one thing that was great. Last week was like simple step in there played against -- with the fence -- of the bunch of runs that he right and run -- a few years and square again here's that. We're going to need more of that. I Miami effort that team took the state they challenge in a lot of ways got great Astros. I've thought about double coverage on receivers with a lot of double covered up procedures and -- should hold the ball well and he is really close. That's close up. -- Delaware border with. He's an excellent. I want distract yourself."

Play from 1:41:14[1:41:14]" Really you know Sammy you know every game we."

Play from 1:41:22[1:41:22]" Here's the tests that the test for the offense and anytime guys are down -- that the stepped it up guys kept picking up stuff. It hopefully group the villain in this week yes you know they're a team that we always have problems -- this does -- Miami you know in 2004 they were. -- 12 one. We gotta put kicks them. We're going to play better we did that they've got a bigger than having it last workout that we averaged 12 point game in like 7080 yards past years. From -- another cover on Sports Illustrated."

Play from 1:42:04[1:42:04]" Tom you guys have been so good the first quarter how important. Not so while their crowd their players getting up early in this game if some hope. Continuing your child support."

Play from 1:42:15[1:42:15]" And it's that was a great atmosphere down there was a lot of excitement that it. And you know we we get quite -- there's one on this placed on there -- So it's a great environment and we need this hosting the -- we've got a pretty good job that this year and played with the lead. And it's definitely try to get up on you want -- before in the past in these guys because. With the way the rush the passer and -- receivers. Eliminate so much that you try to do in the past you really can't throw quick because they're up there with -- cover receivers. Can't hold a two on -- Jason Taylor and held their common so. And try to -- quick final line two. You know get the ball -- but the bats he'd be on the receivers need time to create separation"

Play from 1:43:19[1:43:19]" I didn't hear that great. What's the we've yep well. Yeah I was answer --"

Play from 1:43:31[1:43:31]" You know who where teams try to defend us for the viewer Romeo threaten the and that's where coach Phillips or.
