This season is more than half over. The playoffs or not too far down the road and yes potentially history in the making. But a couple of things don't want to talk about always in terms of on this whole history making -- with that no mil of that Ottawa. We have the championship game people like -- the quarter and a half. Patriots -- that was what I got by the time I got it it was already over 427 when -- tuned in. And calm. I don't think that Houston anybody running and screaming like oh could you possibly thought about me it's great names in. First of all I had play by play reports in my ears of the entire thing number one. On number two what else do you need knowing that Brady to moss Brady to moss moss -- moss. You don't need -- that was it story of the game. And it really finds it curious is this that the continuing. I don't know that the -- continuing thought process of of the patriots being bullies and running up the school or in in on and his. Are we getting tired of that yet. Human -- tired of that. Now I would tell you that I don't think that this New England Patriots I think this -- Olympic team has the potential to be first double. -- one of the greatest teams of all time that's not going to come as any surprise to anybody you know that I know that we all know that. It can certainly happen. Com but the patriots have won anything yet. Right now to ten weeks they have the potential again to be. Maybe the best team -- time but again they haven't won anything. So we had to rank this team right now compared to the other great teams in NFL history they're not even on the radar. And the reason they're not in the radar -- it would because well quite frankly haven't won anything yet. And we talk a little about this women dwelled on a lot but we have talked a little about it. I hope that that kind of put everything in perspective you know. This you know aura of all being you know taken in into consideration our good friend Gregg easterbrook from ESPN page two -- rears his ugly head again today with his -- Tuesday morning quarterback column today although at least the page -- not you know top of the line. Front page you know. Article dominating victims as he has portrayed -- you know or is it is he's put them up on this this eight pedestal. On ESPN I -- want to read you know what he'd just come out with the the last couple of hours even had a chance to scoot on over just briefly. Another a lot of you that -- Connelly please can like you know one I don't really think that I want to go because I know that he's going to do nothing but you know. Asked how -- you know a traitor. -- what have you and so but that's fine he's contrary and that's what he's supposed to be equal. Yeah he's he's he's supposed to be contrary to what he does just like any good newspaper columnist whose gonna take the opposite side of of an argument that's what he's supposed to do but I ordered -- Because frankly you know there is actually our mom. There's actually some truth to it here today. So in the interest of you know presenting all outside the door this is from. Easterbrook today he says at the end of the third quarter the patriots were leading buffalo 42 to seven more than the margin of the greatest comeback in NFL history. Yet Tom Brady was still on the field -- was still throwing passes like mad while the flying L while we're going forward on fourth down rather than attempting a field goal. Frantically trying to run -- This is bad sportsmanship plus it needlessly exposed starters to injury. -- when I start to chuckle during the -- possessions Sunday night touchdown touchdown touchdown touchdown touchdown touchdown touchdown punt. That's presidency get closed the of the string the more touchdowns are needed. Okay chuckling it's a little little little more frequent now. It's one thing with the patriots -- to be determined to win quite another for the coaches. To be determined to convince the world they are Porsche sports this is extremely weird. Why would anyone want to convince the world of this should the patriots advanced this -- still displaying bad sportsmanship whatever chance. The postscript -- political season might be this word. Bomber and now I'm starting to go fall. The flying L -- doing everything to near perfection. But the Tuesday morning quarterback continues to think too much credit is going to Brady and his flashy receivers not enough to the offense -- line and defensive front seven. On the night Brady was never act. He hit only once was it only once and her only once otherwise used to the pocket is that we was posing for a magazine cover no rusher even near him. Put Joey Harrington behind new England's great offense of line and he'd be a star -- Jewish here. Now obviously I'm I'm I'm on the floor rolling and choking with that last line. Here's what else he says what New England was on -- is J. P. Losman was sacked four times. And it really hard on three of the cages despite -- keeping at least expect the block. Brady's passes right on the numbers -- is -- the earth. In front of his receivers superior New England line play it was a reasonable outcomes that I'm not going to argue with too much. Yes the patriots had great -- line yes they've had very solid all but one play all year and Bill Belichick that as much yesterday on patriots Monday. He gave great credit to Matt light who -- is having an outstanding season. And you have to say based on what we've -- of the past sure. Maybe his best season yet as a pro Logan Mankins -- getting mentioned as potential all broke candidate certainly a pro bowl candidate. So we'll give them credit where credit is due on the line but please. Perry -- a star behind this I'm. How about this Joey Harrington would be third team. Behind this line behind Brady and Matt -- anyway -- grass speaking of receivers according to Gregg easterbrook. Win Elway and will someone jam of the ones from New England. Game after game defensive coordinators play knowing that by having the corners backed off and salt attention this is not working. Tuesday morning quarterback continues to long. Too long to see what we'll have -- of the -- simply jams the knowing that receiving -- the way New England corners almost always jam. There opponents. Well let it -- kind of figure it is now. Recently recently a couple of teams that have tried it. The jam at the line procedure I would have to say I believe the colts did that a bit. I certainly know to an extent that the Redskins did them a bit and they got burnt like -- As the reason being is because the page you were able to attack the middle and they were able to go over the top. Because the patriots receivers -- talented now. I have said on several occasions this year if I was going to defend the patriots what I would do personally is is smacked him in the mouth just like the patriots to the rams. You know back and Super Bowl 36. Well you also have to have somebody. You know yet -- somebody -- the middle field yet there's going to put a hurting and was walker and or. Benjamin Watson or whoever's going over the middle."

[10:46]" And then hope that what you can do is perhaps leave enough gap to where the patrons who try to attack Q with the -- I would make the patriots run to beat. That's what I would do right now but I I'm convinced now more than ever that Laurence Maroney is now not a durable enough back to get this job done on the long haul. The patriots may still go down as one of the greatest teams of all time this year but if you really want to think seriously about actually. Status quo next year or even dare I say improve this product a running back in the off. Another back I don't think Maroney is the answer and and I'm I'm convinced more than than -- he's he's not durable. Six carries for 19 yards on Sunday night convince me of that are real as the game was probably out of hand and I also realize well eight you got you know Randy moss in company catching Tom Brady's balls for the heck then. Would you need to run the football and why would you need to run the football. Well a little silly as well everybody on the global at some point. And -- you know. Both Phillies Evans and Kyle echo what actually put the ball in garbage time. Which for a pretty much was the last quarter and a half of the game on Sunday night. Then you know if they're able to get yardage gets -- the events then why do you need a running back I I understand all of I personally am not convinced Laurence Maroney is durable enough to get the job done to be the number one guy. I think -- be a good change of pace to actually be good guy he shared the job with. If your job sharing situation like what the patriots at last year with Corey Dillon. I'm convinced now that maybe they even though I don't think that they will I'm not convinced that next April they'll keep you know that right now top five draft pick somewhere in that vicinity that. San Francisco has I'm still convinced that keep it but if they do. Are -- the likelihood of them taking an offensive players probably slim to none. A defensive player a linebacker maybe Jim -- has -- from Ohio State would probably be in the offing there because of the the age of the overall line backing core. But I also that there should be some heavy consideration given to a guy a game breaker a game changer. Like -- Darren McFadden and we talked about this Leicester a couple of emails."

[13:02]" Can you imagine if you had not only the ability go between tackle for the game breaking speed. That a guy like with that -- when he put up 300 plus a couple of weeks ago. And an Arkansas is not -- eight great season he's a tremendous tremendous offensive talent. And it is hard for me it is the -- Texas longhorns -- was at one time one of our fiercest of rivals. Hard for me to give up anything to those guys but you know it's gotta like you know Adrian Peterson of Oklahoma hell I'd love to have him might think. I don't think he's quite the that the power back that a guy like Peterson would be now for the vikings but. He's got enough speed that -- if he gets into the line backing -- you're not gonna touch him. All this does give us that line of scrimmage. And they think people people believe that the -- to running up the score now. The running of the score argument is hired it's cliche it's trite it's worn out. Fact is that I -- you'll agree a 110% -- Bill Belichick shock and surprise here. What are you wanted to do kick a field goal. Now I mean actually not that's just that's automatic point it's much easier to put -- go up on the board that it is just run the ball on fourth down. Try to make somebody stop you is the -- it you don't."

[14:23]" The bills are right the Redskins were right. Everybody who's who's been spoken to about this subject. -- Jauron was this last week obviously Joe Gibbs was when asked if you know I thought the -- probably patrons played the game. And there were no no problems at all Marv Levy that is much. -- Marv Levy's -- that that I respect the most in the game right now. And I really believe he's he's got to be part of the reason why the bills are somewhat resurgent now at five and five overall having won four route to put some respectability back there. Don't we where -- when the patriots beat them the first time 387 it was kinda like oh my god will they win a game. You have to give the build some credit some credit. Marv Levy is much they have a marvelous team. I've no problems with. Doing what they've they're doing. It's our job to stop them and that's actually right on it has nothing. To do with sportsmanship you want really bad sportsmanship Gregg easterbrook and anybody else who cares. Kicked field goals in those instances put up three point when it's it's it's a chip shot. You're telling people on fourth down and water to whatever was the pages -- gone where he's an all right here comes up. And as the patriots offensive line already you've given great credit out of the patriots offense -- line Greg already goes and its greatest -- why would you run behind. What is the sportsmanship aspect of all this you tell me that paid professionals. And might I say very well paid professionals are supposed to lay down. Is that what you're saying how was that sportsman like if you laid down a where your competition. -- sportsmanship that's an insult. Now if you want to get into sportsmanship aren't that if you want to you know pull in the reins a little that on an undermanned opponent more than. Look let's talk to some of the high school juggernaut that are out there mean instead of Connecticut for God's sake they have a 50 point rule and if your team blows out another in the state of Connecticut high school football but if you more your coach gets bad for a week. -- you believe that's. How is that sportsmanship. In an effort to keep routes from happening on the field that is so much. It's indescribable almost ordered an obscenity and -- supposed. Even that is the Internet it is terrible it's all he believed that rule there. -- college global we have you know teams like you know. You know anybody a name any school in the top ten right now I'm sure that they long have wandered on somebody and -- 50 enough. Or 70 thwarted to 20 or something like that. Let's talk to those schools about bad sportsmanship."

[17:08]" Why would you do that. What's the need -- after you know year year ahead you know by 45 touchdowns in the third fourth quarter there's only sport and in those are supposedly amateurs although I think the whole college football is an amateur sport is sort of stupid thing is well."

[17:25]" But he can certainly make more of the case that being unsportsmanlike but you can afford it like that in the rose. The reason that people are complaining is because this doesn't happen. At all. And when we finally see a high school and -- college scenario. Unfolded the professional ranks where it's supposed to be even and everything's supposed to be full parity. We automatically think oh what's wrong what's happening bad to our game. What's going on here it's not supposed to happen this way. What's happening is that you actually have the perfect storm. You have the perfect football storm. You have a quarterback. Who is pinpoint -- Who is tailor made to stand in the pocket. Who has great peripheral vision. Who knows his offensive system to the to the nth degree knows the check -- routine. As receivers who were all physically talented and smart. As running backs -- if they're not durable at least nowhere to be. As an offensive line that played in front of him now pretty solidly together as a unit for three years plus in some instances. And you've just you've got all the positive factors coming together. It's the perfect offensive storm. And because we're not used to seeing it. Because it's something that you know quite frankly you know it's different. It's not what he can't possibly be good. Pelican building too much chocolate you know you know you can't do that aren't good for tentatively out of them that could possibly be good well. How could this kind of football possibly be good for anybody. That is we don't know when he battered this is what football is and what you're talking about paid professionals here sportsmanship. Look would -- like to think it's a perfect world would all like to think that you know when the game is over. And I think for the most part these guys do this they do shake hands and talk to each other. Guys on each team they know each other the the went to school with -- each other or or they know each other from other teams and other relationships and guys you know guys and coaches and you know after the game is over for the most part. Guys can be civil they can congratulate each other on on a well fought battle on a good game well played you know they can be sportsman like that sportsmanship okay the ability to be able after the battle is done. That sportsmanship but when the whistle blows and the clock is Rolen and here. Playing or you're operating between the chalk lines sportsmanship doesn't enter into the equation. I mean if you want to -- sportsman like gesture by helping double followed opponent on the field but fine. And I think that shows class more than enough but there's a difference between class. And sportsmanship. I think it's bad sportsmanship if you again as I mentioned -- to a little bit ago it's bad sportsmanship if you."

[20:44]" That demeaning your opponent that in and of itself is sports sportsmanship. So this whole issue of running up the score being you know. Bad sport patrons are being. You know batter evil is Gregg easterbrook might say here it's just that is so much poppycock it's just not even if it's laughable."

[21:07]" It's absolutely. Laughable."

[21:12]" It got to stop -- they don't stop on the have every right -- paid professionals sense. To do what they're supposed to do their job Josh McDaniel at Bill Belichick edit the players themselves at our jobs we're touched our job. Is to perform the very best that we can out on the field at all time our job is not to run three plays and it. Our job is not it is milk the clock and pooch kick. Because were already up 42% of our job is put the ball in the end zone. And because we haven't seen it all fans -- a team. Like this in May be -- I don't know forever."

[21:52]" It's bad. Mean they said Columbus was whacko when he called the world round two men called flat. I'm -- over exaggerating here but I I hope that you understand more involved with this is just it's just I I don't get it. A really don't get running up the score. To me all credibility is lost when he says that even Joey Harrington could perform what are the patriots all the blood c'mon. Oh please that is almost laughable. Arm so anyway days ago. Little bit of cannon fodder for today your thoughts on the whole running up the score issue fact is that now you know it's a divisional opponent. You beat them by a combined score of what now 94 to 17. In two weeks nobody's ever really done that before we're we're charting an on we're we're we're moving into uncharted waters here's what we're doing."

[22:49]" And so. We don't know we don't know how to handle -- we don't know how to react."

[23:02]" And the fact that you know you know. Teams like maybe Dallas and or Green Bay or better sports in the patriots c'mon. It's not right they have -- not right the Packers the cowboys Terrell plays."

[23:15]" Please fact is that you recognize that there is a bully in the NFL block. That is nobody likes the bully on the block nobody likes the bully them consistently beat and beat up on other teams therefore you -- it for every opportunity you can to have the bully take a sucker punch. You want the -- to go down you want the bully brought down to your level. That's okay but let's call what it is if not poor sportsmanship. What it is is a physically. And maybe even intellectually superior team. Hitting on all cylinders operating in again what I call the perfect open to storm. Based on the personnel you have and the scheme that you have running their personnel. That's all it is the right now there's just not a defense in the National Football League that can stand up to the patriots are there. Own worst opponent. The patriots are the only team that can stop the patriots at least in my estimation at this time patriot should. Should go 16 you know hard to say about the playoffs be great if they could do it if they go 60 you know they were body realizes that. You don't 19 know it would be a natural progression here but you know watching in the playoffs things change. There really change. And you know. Depending upon who they would end up facing in the in the playoff round I mean it's just it's a different sport. Playoff football is a different sport than regular season global. There are three seasons the global. There's the pre season there's the regular season there's postseason I think you'll realize that all three or and a in and of themselves different seasons. Pre seasons laid back regular season you getting great year long grind he really don't get too carried away and then post season all hell breaks loose. Because you have nothing left to play for we have nothing to say about or next week if you don't put it -- all -- the line. And the particular we that your playing you're done your playing golf the season's over."

[25:24]" So there's much more sense of urgency this much more emotion there's just it's just highly charged it's a different. Beat."

[25:34]" And the smallest things become much more magnified in the playoffs so. I am I'm not going to venture out is a good repeated so cool we're should -- it all the -- non market I'll leave that it to you or anybody else that wants to do. Below I will is goes -- totally and completely convinced there's -- team on the schedule -- touch him. Especially after watching the jets kick a field goal to to beat Pittsburgh this week I'm like you gotta be kidding me. Now does that mean that there's nobody on the schedule. In the last six games there's nobody on the schedule -- capable -- doesn't mean that. But when you look at the eagles ravens Steelers jets dolphins giants. Left on the patriots schedule. The toughest opponent."

[26:27]" Patriots are their own worst opponent because the only way I think that they get beat by any one of those six teams is if they shoot themselves in the foot. Number one injuries are always a factor are realized that he's -- injuries aren't supposed to be an excuse and really they're not. But let's face it. If two or three key people on this team go down and I think you probably in no which of the two or three that I'm speaking of at this stage then all bets are off. If the patriots turn the football over multiple times. Especially in their into the field. Then all better off. Because other teams are capable of moving the football -- the patriots defense has largely been overshadowed by the unbelievable. Effectiveness of the offense that the perfect offensive storm. Bomb but that doesn't mean that they they they can't abandon and crack every now and then we've seen that happen. I mean honestly I still in the best would be the team to try to ball control and keep -- offense off the field. We -- a couple of things try to do that in and of failing. Cold did it beautifully I thought -- we realized that's been a close call patriots were fortunate. But the colts -- a great game plan offensively against the patriots couple weeks ago great game almost almost got to the W doesn't mean that it can't happen. If the colts in the coming here in the playoffs certainly could happen. Doesn't mean it couldn't happen in a Super Bowl. Whether it's cowboys of the Packers or whomever else might survive in the NFC. It absolutely could happen and if you add to that turnovers and poor field position. Penalties and things along those lines then honestly it all bets are off. But those last its opponents there's no doubt in my mind that the worst the or at least the most challenging opponent will be the patriots that. I don't get that why would the coach is -- flip want coaches doing their job."

And with the exception of yours rate Washington Redskins linebacker for a little ones who had a beef with telecheck actually voiced displeasure on you'll -- opposing players. Remember the dolphins have for the most part the Redskins related bills. Had no problem no no problem whatsoever that they take it like. Like men they say you know we gotta stop them I don't feel embarrassed by that era their do their job we're doing and feels that the part."

[31:11]" I think that's we ought to realize that if the players and the other teams in particular as a whole I should say more specifically the other teams in the hole because you're right there if you renegade players out there who obviously run them --"

I -- it doesn't matter what you it doesn't matter who won but no but there a couple of odd things could be said like that however when the when the teams themselves and have a problem why should anybody -- give a -- and here's the thing. You know was it. On on a few of these plays where they went for a fourth down now. Would I think that need be hate handing the ball off the highlight goal 40 Heath Evans is maybe your best documented and -- 80 yard anyways it kind of I think even the patriots might admit that. If if we did research on how often teams go for a fourth down when -- went wide at one or whatever they might not have 34 wide receivers out there passer all that. They're there might be coming to that but that's their offense -- out. That's what the way date that's the way they operate their mentality is we're just doing our offense. We're just playing our offense where almost respecting the other team in the sense that -- the the third quarter on we don't feel like game is over either she used to -- keep playing. On and got an and that's where they go about their business. The other teams don't have a problem with that Marv Levy didn't have a problem with that I don't think I heard Dick Jauron have anything anything to stay in the now you know."

So you know the other ones and stand to be at least reasonably competitive for a while you know we thought about we thought that going to a few -- to win but you know what I it would you know I -- I that the jets game. Which you know obviously will come up on the 16 of December. It wouldn't surprise me to -- that game become a struggle number one occasion to consider the time a year. And if weather comes in and plays a factor in all weather is a factor in game because that is. You know not to equate the great equalizer. But you can level playing field blow it because you know you're you're talking about we hear Brian or or are going to be everybody and I say the collective William including the fans -- That that stadium that day will be primed for a bloodletting. Based on this whole you know by gate thing that is you don't come out this year right. Everybody in this day and in those stands in that press box and be expecting the patriots -- thoroughly. Decimate the jets that day and put real hurting on them. And I'm going to be the first to tell you that I don't necessarily think about the case I don't think that that's going to happen. And I really don't think the guys down the hallway or going to go into the game thinking all right we have to beat the crap out of them because what they did to us. That's not going to be their motivation."

[34:50]" Well it not I don't think comes up I don't alcohol I don't think it is it. You know what comes up every week on every time they're they're talking about you know the team -- motivation that particular idol I don't know that comes up. But -- I'm talking just as much from count him point let alone any other intangibles camera in all that. And I think a favorite count him point it's going to be an ugly ugly guys outing for the for the jets. That a lot but that's what -- appoint. It's about a three touchdown different problem out all things being equal and whether whether knocking a huge factor right at 33 touchdown that well but again whether.
