Breaking down last Sundays game yeah go ahead and handed it now because of back going to vastly over the top -- and he didn't want to go bought. Pie -- play that they've won fair and the rest of the 2000 have an NFL he's back -- combat all. From the air and some of the ones that -- between even -- great even if you want right now."

Play from 0:33[0:33]" He year news. John Rollins fell."

Play from 0:41[0:41]" Patriots playbook kids for Wednesday -- the day before thanksgiving thanksgiving need right here in the United States of America. My name is John brook -- glad you -- yet again -- patriots dot com radio and I hope that it is a a happy thanksgiving wherever you may be listening to us today -- have you that there are not aware obviously we'll take thanksgiving day off. And then on Friday patriots Friday with Mike -- in the time slot as it normally does here. Patriots dot com radio so -- actually be back with you next Tuesday following eagles game so. Today it -- we got several things to accomplish even we don't normally do this on Wednesday because we don't have -- of the show for this week -- you to send your score predictions. For Sunday night's game against the eagles now. We normally they say this for the into the week but you know number one this is the end of a week number two it because there's been so much talked about over the last 24 hours I think about the points -- Whereas you know -- around 18 or so with McNabb. It's going to be 2223 points or more without McNabb and could approach the all time NFL record for points spread in a single game. And of course they will realize that there -- a couple of games at least left on the schedule that could it in fact approach the all time minute they'll record points Brittany game. If so I'd like to know whether or not. You think the patriots can approach that this week quite simple how confident are you. In this patriots team to take care of business and move from -- an 211 now and then turn their attention to the following week. In a -- game against Baltimore. Send me your score predictions web radio at patriots dot com. That's where you get the other thing that I want to talk about today is really what friendly guys were talking about right at the at a POW today. And that is the teams that you loved to hate when you're going up. And why you hated. And it's only because at that will realise as I mentioned in and his we're talking a little bit ago with the guys that. The patriots are one of those teams now for a lot of but for a lot of fans around the country maybe for a lot of young kids grown up in other cities that have medical teams that have been recently blown out. By the patriots maybe it. Child misdirected as they may be -- Washington Redskins fan oracle span or whatever. But you know bigger looking at the patriots now like I used to look at. My hated team which was the Boston's old school and you know. Even Moslems that wasn't really an NBA team in the state of Texas -- it will they had the Houston Rockets early calm. They had the spurs of the ABA back and they did not have the Dallas Mavericks pre 1980s so you know. I guess it was just because I was a big fan frankly it was a big fan of the Milwaukee Bucks for a couple years they had you know Kareem Abdul Jabbar. It was then -- Big -- in Milwaukee Bucks in in Boston crushed them for the most part and and so I kind of just developed this habit. Because my team that I like to follow got -- act. And so it's one of those things that you know certainly -- follow the Celtics now on in my kids who have grown up here in the northeast now -- you know they consider themselves. In home. Fans have all the Boston and New England teams in the Celtics are certainly one of those in fact I've got tickets to go see the Celtics played an item -- the guard which is a great thing but. -- I'm going to go on -- enjoy it but I have never had the passion with a low vote. Shall -- say for that particular team just because old habits. Are hard to die. And so I'm wondering now if you you know understand why. Some fans around the country are now growing up or -- or moving on in the lives thinking wow I hate those patriots. And here's why. So I want you to exercise you know your own sports memory bank just a little bit and watch the -- didn't tell me what the team that you grew up eating. And why you grew up hated them. Web radio act patriots dot com that's how you get this web radio. At patriots dot com coming out of the program already -- chance to hear from Bill Belichick earlier today at -- And on patriots Monday -- did not unfortunately get a chance to hear from Tom Brady because he was unavailable to join Dennis and Callahan on WEEI. But today you will hear Tom Brady in case you'd want streaming and you didn't get it yesterday when he appeared -- money -- we've got it for you here on our program today. Here in the playbook that will come up during our number two of the program days so Belichick and Brady in the second -- of the program that you and I kids. Here in opening our number one for Wednesday and the day before thanksgiving. -- amused take care of Randy moss has -- probably aware now named the AFC player of the week week. 1110 passes 128 yards for touchdowns in the 56 to ten win over buffalo this pass on the night leads the team. -- go over a thousand yards in receptions now NC. Infected that it with a five yard reception to 27 left in the second quarter. He passed that thousand yard Mark the seasons so he's the first patriots player. -- thousand yards or or more receiving since Troy brown did it was 1199 back in the 2001 season his thousand your season is now the tenth 1000 yard receiving season in patriots history. And he is there with brown Terry Glenn who did it twice Ben Coates Stanley Morgan -- three times Irving fryer and Harold Jackson. As the only players in team history to. Reach 1000 yards for a year Morgan by the way the single season record is 1491 yards he did that back in 86. But I have to say based on what we've seen thus far and with six games still to play that records have been in jeopardy I would think. Beyond thousand -- season -- by the way is the eighth in his ten year career. His first until five. He had just -- you'd like 1005 some of the Oakland Raiders a couple of years ago but. What's the -- continues his future bit of an idea of the phenomenal career that a guy like anymore head. And he is continuing an awkward with the patriots and as we've talked about I'm sure as we have enjoyed. Many many times so that's the of that Feliz would moss in his deal. In court he is really just maybe three or four games away from clips and Stanley Morgan's record well of course continue to follow that for. Hum so Martin and the player of the week. Can't say that that really surprises me surprises probably too many people. Hum yesterday I spent some time. Talking about some of the negative things and house from the other negative press continues to come out about this football team. And and in week I think it's been a little bit time it's kind of saying you know what I'm getting kind of tired of it it's it's old it's cliche it's -- it's one out nobody's come up with a new reason you know it's just it's just pure like -- on the patriots for the sake of eight now. Well I wanted to try to balance that out -- but today because they're. Are actually some folks in some highly respected folks who cover professional football who believe it or not. Think that what the patriots are doing right now is good. It not just good for the NFL but good for football. Now I've always thought. That having 18 up with a top -- real heavyweight a team that dominate take a dynasty if you almost a that's good for any sport. Why well because it galvanizes the phantom. You know there are talking -- follow them just for the sake of following a -- we got a lot of running. You know climb on the bandwagon fans. That will root for team just because they win and they want to be associated with a winner. The other end of the spectrum is of course. As I just suggested with -- teams that a group would that I hated. Because they went all the time it's kind of like well leave some for something to somebody else -- team because they want all the time so it's a galvanizing effect but it creates interest. Who have you have a dynastic team in your league whatever your sport of choice is. Speaking it's a good thing because he creates blows it creates interest fans either love you or hatred there's no fans sitting. And when -- fence sitting there's -- when there's apathy there's not people in the stands or not people watching or listening or talking about it. So this is good for the National Football League whether the NFL believes they're not. And to further my point. No less an authority than Vic Corey Ruggiero going to build a -- we've had on this program several times before in the past few years who made his. Trade an actual -- covering the Buffalo Bills for the buffalo news and then he worked for several web sites and now he's the senior editor for a NFL dot com let me just reach a little bit of an excerpt what he had on the website in his column this week -- be given the chance to surf on over there and see it he says some recently asked -- thought. New England's dominance was bad for the NFL. Questioner said it was. Pointing -- the likelihood of the patriots cruising to a fourth suitable -- left fans of 31 team with nothing to look forward to between now and they -- Recruit says I disagree. Here are five reasons why the -- otherworldly performance is a very good thing for the league. And feel free by the way when you send me your email on your score prediction in the team she loved it grown up. Feel free to -- sound off on this particular subject whether you agree or disagree with Vick because I think it's nail on the head stuff series is number one. As football fans we all appreciate the chance to witness history in the making. Pictures look as if they will indeed go 19 -- that's something a lot of us are going to say even if to ourselves. We were happy to have seen in our lifetime he was on explain how he had no real special rooting interest in the 72 dolphins but he remembers. What -- to have the chance to watch that perfect season as a young fan I am the same why. Actually rooted for the dolphins back in 72 because I just wanted to see him do it even though it was at the expense of my beloved Dallas Cowboys at that time. I'm -- number two as football fans we appreciate seeing the game played exceptionally well. The mere fact there's a legitimate comparison to be made between Tom Brady and the greatest quarterbacks in the game's history is by itself remarkable. How often have you heard others provide vivid descriptions about Johnny unitas and Joe Montana Dan Marino John Elway. And not in or in regret not being around -- being too young to yourself to have watched what I all the fuss was about. -- for fighting that chance for a new generation of fans. That's reason number two. What pets. Dominance is good for the number theory. As football fans you needed team you love to hate. Almost as much as you need one you love to -- that's absolutely 100% and that's really my number one reason as I just mentioned to. It's good for the league because you've got just as many people perhaps aiding them as you have loving them because they win all the time. So when you say New England Patriots it automatically brings emotion any positive or negative since there's no ambivalence there. And that's what you need you need passion. To sustain a sport and to take it to new levels. And the very least patron to bring -- let's face it. -- site right. I'll reason number four as a fan of another AFC team -- right to feel discouraged about your chances of seeing. Your team reached the Super Bowl but you're still want to root for your club's chances to reach the playoffs in football history has taught us anything. Something crazy can always happen in the post season. -- our friend Russell Baxter -- says. Reason that he likes football is because it's an oblong shape when it bounces it bounce is crazy silly you'd never know where it's going to go. And that's very true in the post season and I -- this on yesterday's program as well the post season just magnifies everything you know. Ten times -- And so guys play tighter they don't play loose a couple of free and easy they play with pressure piled upon their shoulders. And so if the patriots could make a couple of mistakes they give somebody you know a crack in the doorway. A good team could -- that door wide open we all know that the colts are still capable will be the patriots. In the -- patriots go out in in improper stinker and turn the ball over you know the colts are definitely capable. So -- says regardless of what the patriots do through the balance of the regular season. They still have to play a minimum of two extra games for a chance to win at all. That's right don't it's right. And then number five. The fifth and final reason why the patriots dominance right now is good for the NFL. As a fan an of of an NFC team your feeling that there's no unstoppable force to prevent your team from reaching the suitable. Although against the cowboys package could have as we think of that and says you know you want your crack at the patriots on the biggest stage of them ball. Absolutely again it's only one game it's one shot and when it's one shot for all the marbles anything ghost. I mean if you played ten times with a patriots won eight times nine times probably. Could they went ten times well that's what we don't know it's the one shot you don't know about and that's all you needed. In a playoff game and what the suitable one shot. So no matter how dominant you look you have that shot. And I wanted to bring that out to the table today it would because you know which analysts I'm talking about everybody Payton hammered on the patriots but. -- I I I respect -- opinion immensely he's one of the the best football writers out there. And if you read him at all over the years I would think that you would agree although everybody's entitled to their own opinion that. But I didn't want to point that out that there are some other believe what the patriots are doing is actually pretty good for the game. In that is not necessarily a bad thing. To have the patriots beating up on people let me give you one more quick example. I mean John Madden here's another one John Madden said you know the other night on the Senate football that. Quote it's the best offense I've ever seen you know. He -- the other night Tom Brady's playing the position of quarterback right now better than I have ever seen anyone play yet in my history. -- use. Yeah that's that's that's putt putt putt but it's true I mean when you consider all the quarterbacks that he's seen play. Putting birdie there at the top of the list is fairly significant. Fairly Signet. Bomb one other one from a Pennsylvania writer it's a gentleman. Actually covers. The eagles four -- Philadelphia bulletin which is Leo locally owned a family paper com. In suburban Philadelphia -- Goldstein guy's name and he wrote in. In addition this week that yes the patriot should run up the score in their games. And he brings to light what I was talking about yesterday. This is professional football it's not high school football it's not pop Warner football is not Peewee football if the national football. If teams like the bills give up 56 points the -- like they did on Sunday night it's Buffalo's fault for allowing New England marched down the field. Drive after drive it's not a matter of the patriots exhibiting bad sportsmanship. If the patriots have the personnel to consistently put up 3040 and 50 point performances week after week. Shame on deep fences for not preparing adequately enough. I mean evident that it -- that what we have been saying here. -- goes on to say yes there are those that said -- season has been tainted by spike -- when cheated they got caught and punished all the white thing. He should have been harsher but the truth is this. The tape the patriots head of the jets' defensive signals has nothing to do. With the 49 they put up on the dolphins the 52 they hung on the Redskins with a 56 they had against the bills. It had nothing to do with Tom -- 38 touchdown passes now. Four picks. Quarterback rating of over 130. It had nothing to do with Randy moss is over thousand yard receiving and 16 touchdowns it has nothing to do with the fact that 13 different players have scored touchdowns this season. 14 now but this is his article from last week. So he's absolutely correct me he finally says and for all those that -- the patriot should ease up on their opponents in the second half. Remember that this is the NFL. If you want them to go easy on you on the -- because they put up 28 points on you in the first quarter then total play professional football. The patriots Ron -- official or not. To cream every team they play and -- this being the pros they are more than welcome to go for it. In the -- watch out eagles. Good stuff absolutely is that he's right on to see there's even somebody who covers it you know for the opposition says Goldstein for the Philadelphia bulletin who says you know one there's nothing wrong with the patriots are doing. -- because we spent a lot of time you know talk about people beating on the patriots. Bring those two pieces out to you today simply because at number one in reading them earlier -- striking number two to. It's really a minority opinion I think you real you know I realize that it's it's still. A minority opinion they're still -- the overwhelming majority of the media and fans like to see the patriots get popped. I happen to believe though that there's a growing number. Of fame and if not media but fans certainly. Who would like to continue to see the -- do well for the aforementioned reaching reasons of this could be history in the making. There's a whole generation of football fans out there that don't remember what the 1972 dolphins -- remember anything about the team only that a bunch of old men get together once a year the pop since champagne corks and celebrates of that happened 35 years ago. That's all they know about the 72 dolphins. So now if the patriots can match that and or beat that. They have their own dynasty their own greatest team of all time to hang their hat on and say well. I was around when I saw the 2007 patriots they were unbelievable. Can't believe that there was a team better than that. -- of a cycle begins all over again. The thought process begins."

Play from 20:17[20:17]" And."

Play from 20:18[20:18]" Over again and you you bring in a whole new you know legion of fans. And you create. New fans that either love you or hate you like you said your little kid. There and you know your team keeps getting pop by the patriots like my teams kept getting pop by the Celtics in a back in 1960s and 70s Wheldon. Patriots will end up being your your Boston's helping your your Waterloo York team that you just grew up loving to eight. For no better reason on the fact that they always one. And the patriots could end up being that team you. That in and of itself is. Per for these perfect proof that you know -- life rolls on. And -- been well with what -- No doubt about that web radio at patriots dot com that's the email address and at what your thoughts again on that some of the love the pats again. Your score predictions for Sunday night against the eagles. On in the team that you grew up loving to hate and why you hated them. It gives us some good cannon fodder for today right. Good stuff to do with I hope at any rate of sent on the as emails quick as you can because will be getting in the second now the program beginning in two. Coach Belichick and Tom bradys and make sure that we have plenty of time to get your thoughts this and come from day who's in Winnipeg Manitoba. He is hello patriots -- 16 another should be an asterisk asterisk beside him his name. The reason for the Astros is because. They will have won 14 games as opposed the patriots 16 well yes because it was a 14 game regular season back in 70 yes and -- How over the did go undefeated. And they didn't win all the games on the schedule they're supposed place I don't believe an asterisk -- Don't believe it at all I mean if you do what you do it if you don't know you don't do and a discussion. That's what the whole thing about you know which would put masters in over the last whatever it is 1020 years in baseball because this being the steroid era know. I think you know history book to reflect that this was an error in which guys you know. Some of them not all of them but some of them certainly would have enhanced themselves chemically. And I do think that you -- history books are historians are wrapped an arm memories have a good way of sorting everything out we you just can't make a judgment. Right now you have to let time pass you have to let the story settle. And whatever sticks. One -- remember is pretty accurate. I don't I don't believe in putting masters there -- believed in letting history just kind of settle thanks. And I think history usually does. I really believe that. Mom what do we have this from came from earlier. The POW's guys Randall -- comic show that's been Jamie -- show that he's a better nickel back in public speaker. He didn't say when I'm pretty sure he meant but who's calling out the defense players were complaining about the patriots playing hard. Reports 60 minutes and blow out because that indicates that the complainer didn't feel like Leonardo. At that point themselves in other words it's disrespectful to pick up your check -- we didn't give it your all during the whole game. Not immediately -- but got blown out. -- and it's blow out -- thank you Jamie -- we also have okay this one comes from Dave. In Virginia -- is another patriots will look forward but we came in the number one -- against two with the patriots beat by the most points. Number two what will be the first shot up games since it's now the defense has time shine. Number three will they break the scoreboard in the we're told me -- highest total you know what I think all three of those things come against the jets."

Play from 24:22[24:22]" that come I'm thinking about 63 zip -- that's that's you know. I don't scenery I mean to W I think he's officially -- the -- heated up when -- to answer your quest to be quite -- feel that they've been a good chance. For anyone of those if not off well for you don't lose all the kids the jets kimono glad in Calgary Alberta assuming that the patriots have a top four papal position do you see the team addressing what is the most urgent need. We talk a little but -- yesterday and I'm still thinking in that they'll probably look to the fans and still think -- probably look young and I'm still thinking they'll probably -- linebacker. Now if they don't feel like. They have a top four pick. And they don't feel like the guy that they like use of the value of one of the top picks in the trap and they're going to trade down. So they trade down before hand. You know maybe for you know an extra pick in an end of the year and still you know get like a pick around 18 to 25 or whatever. Then they feel like you know the value that player is such that you can game they're number one and number two they're going to an -- picking up something extra in addition to you know for that topics -- I think that's one area they'll look I. I personally believe and I said this yesterday I I'm not convinced that Laurence Maroney is a durable back. Based what was seen on a season and a half from. I'm not convinced he can be number one you know 20 -- game guy. On the east too fragile. For whatever reason I hope I'm wrong. I hope he can you know turn into -- of the Marion Barber like his former teammate at university of Minnesota. -- certainly barber has blossomed into a better back as a pro for the cowboys -- he was at Minnesota. But I'm just not convinced yet and until I am convinced -- until I am convinced I think the patriots have a need this year. I'd like to see him kick that keep that top four pick as -- signal an end in -- get a guy like Darren McFadden for markets. Because not only does he seem to have the strength and the ability go between the tackles but he's got unbelievable speed. In the open field now more gets to a whole when he can get through it because the pretty quickly McFadden leaves him in his dust. That's a good Darren McFadden news. I don't think that will happen. I really don't I think really that the patriots would have to be odds on favorite right now to trade down. Because that guy that they probably value could be available in the latter stages the first round would be -- he has. But you never know maybe they decide Gallagher Jim learn ideas from O'Neal I've -- from Ohio State is worth the top 45 pick and if they're there may be that's the guy they go after because I think as we all know they do need to get a little bit younger. In the line backing -- So anyway that's my thought there and I appreciate an email. John and Fayetteville Georgia -- patriots 42 eagles 13. Westbrook runs one in Brady to moss for three touchdowns. One that keeps even 19 and put him right on the precipice of the next game -- brief meeting Jerry rice's records. Is -- runs is second in a Brady to Welker one touchdown -- to Stallworth for another. John is really must have all those guys on -- fantasy team. Battle that's another thing because Jerry rice got his point two touchdowns -- believe what was -- 14 games 12 games 14 games like that. So -- for moss you know it's still going to be a record again last risk your guys you know it's a single season. And so it looks like he's you know he's got a great shot at breaking -- now and again for the you're started I was on record right here in this promising I didn't think moss would get it because. In the papers like the spread things out and you know bring -- to get things around different guys and the patriots caste system would allow them to favor one person over another for whatever reason. And obviously you know it's not over yet and he still doesn't have the record yet but the way things are going looks pretty he's got a good shot and it. I'm I'm as surprised as as any if you are about that. He still haven't yet. But when he gets it I think he will be even more extraordinary in the fact that it's coming in this system of sharing the ball. So you know he could -- a little bit close this -- John thank you for the prediction Indian Vermont's is John I was wondering if you got -- trivia question yesterday in in the with specialties but it went league MVP in the deep -- to give up only -- 120 in points and 14 game season you know what you've got -- severe disadvantage on that one. I usually don't read trivia questions -- be because quite frankly don't have a chance -- think about it since I -- showed conduct yourself I'll let you send me the answer and we'll go from there and I'll give you full credit for. I'm Jesus I guess I've been one of the P of W guys but I missed some of the show I'm not selective listeners sorry. Everything is giving never got to say that earlier TU into all of patriots nation and while football fans alike. He says I hate the Yankees because I was born into the Red Sox nation -- from an early age and learn the Yankees were the bad guys in pinstripes or ugly. I -- the jets are close second any team from New York will work. And he says that prediction for Sunday will be pats and eagles pats win by at least 21. I had an NCAA it's all the questions -- yeah I mean you know I can understand it if you grown up in New England. I can certainly understand year. Hated the Yankees you you just before you can say Red Sox -- say you know Yankees -- right so I mean that's the way it works. It's just at just right of passage when. -- I can't tell you how many fathers I know who's who grew up Red Sox fans and teach that to their kids is the way it is. At all and usually good natured fun but it's just the way it is Hampshire Yankee fans feel the same way about Red Sox fans. Because of the local rivalry between cities and regions -- It would that's good good stuff appreciate that he and you know call -- Thank you bring that -- They bomb let's goal -- web radio at patriots dot com email address. Web radio -- Patriots come a couple of more common in here differences it would go. Bob from East Boston says John my most hated team used to be. The Montreal Canadians. They were public enemy number one back in the early to mid 70s to all of us kids who grow as fans of the big bad Bruins. Hard to imagine the Boston was much more hockey town bag and then -- used today but things models and you Bob and viewers. -- the exception if that's a good one in fact when I. First figured out that I was coming up to New England and specifically to cover sports in the Boston area back in the late 80s that's the first thing I thought personable. I said well you know obviously the Red Sox just come -- of that you know excruciating 1986 World Series in with the Mets but number two. Like Boston's hockey to. That's that's exactly what I thought Boston's hockey. Because of the Bruins influence and I thought that the Red Sox public second and the patriots were so far off the radar screen. It's not even funny and I mean it would even close. And it's amazing to see how things have kind of more over the last 20 not 21 years where. Boston certainly is a Red Sox town but you know if the Red Sox -- one -- to one day. In on the certainly the -- going to come back in in and the Bruins problem got a long way to go where it's concern. But yeah I could see that where you know you're you're probably my age maybe a little younger years at least my age Bobby. They hated team in year you know use was the Montreal Canadians. I certainly would remember that from the 1970s without a doubt. Good want. Diana Bridgeport Connecticut's is John would it make sense for the patriots to go. After running back Lamont Jordan if the raiders released him today -- top linebacker in the draft."

Play from 32:40[32:40]" Perhaps special if they determine that a guy like Kevin Faulk may be on the shelf for a little bit longer frankly -- I think that the patriots are very happy. What what they have right now. Even without Sammy Morse from one I think they -- Sammy -- I think they feel like they've got a real steal and Sammy and it's ashamed that he got hurt and had to be put on the -- arm because I I think that day. Believe that he's a guy that could grow into a potential. One if not won a role he was already won a with Mulroney and you could certainly get a case for being Warren. Would Maroney one made this year. Before -- got hurt. That's by the patriots love him and I really don't think that they they. You know if he can come back healthy for next year I don't know that this is why I think bewilderment -- angrily as I agreement love to see him do it I don't think they will. I think they like. Sammy Morris law. And the feel like a combination Morrison's Maroney or morally and more at -- to pick. With Faulk is the change of pace back is a potent enough offensive backfield where they can spend their time in their energies and their draft picks. On other players. I believe that now if Faulk is deemed to be gone for any extended period of time although I know he was in the locker room and and he has said that you know he hopes to play this week in and whatnot. If Faulk is deemed to be upper -- any any length of time that may -- maybe you going to look at somebody like that bring a million but. I I'm still thinking you know. I don't know. You know they the way that ankle and and Evans -- last week and again and realized it was against buffalo in it was in -- route. Yeah but buffalo still couldn't tackle. I think -- like have a tough guys that you get yards between the tackles like there's two guys is nothing flashy it's 23 maybe if you're lucky four yards. You know in an Astro turf -- but. Frankly I think they like that. And so because they still have ankle and they have Evans who can go both ways as a fullback and they'll let. I don't think that -- waste anything I mean if if if join a guy like Jordan is cut loose and the patriots can get him for nothing. And they realize you're going to be without fault for an extended period of time then maybe maybe you'll see it happen by I really. I only so I don't I don't think so. I still think that they'll go after linebacker. On first and foremost in the draft but the going to be the number one choice public will realize that's what patriots have done released since day one of the Belichick regime is they are looking primarily at defensive players in try to build from the defense."

Play from 51:42[51:42]" Right a lot. Andy Reid to head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles just too short while ago Gillette stadium with numbers for the patriots. Media court we get ready here for our number two patriots playbook for Wednesday my name is John rook. Web radio act patriots dot com is the email address that how you reaches here coming up just a few minutes will hear from coach Belichick from earlier today here. At Gillette and also Tom Brady whom did not get a chance to hear. -- during patriots Monday this week because he was unable to make his appearance with Dennis and Callahan and WEEI will have him for you today in case you did not. -- chance to hear mr. Brady's that is also upcoming here very very shortly inside the playbook for today. On the quick thanks as we can recapture the top of the -- Donovan McNabb not practicing today for the eagles because of his ankle in thumb injuries and espn.com today was reporting it is very much. Up of the year as to whether or not he will play. On Sunday may -- quoted as you want to be smart but you want to get out there and play. There's really tell you as Aram McNabb again hurt his -- Early in that 177 win or Miami last Sunday left the game he sprained his right ankle in the second quarter. And it was AJ Feeley who led the eagles to their a couple of touchdowns. And he's the one who will start if magnet is not able to go. The ankle swelled up again yesterday of the ankle is apparently the the one part it's actually a little bit worse than -- You gotta be able puts pressure on the ankle and going to be able to grip the football all the films right now I'd have to say it really doesn't. Well good to say at least in case you weren't aware of it. The point spread is astronomical on this one -- of course it's just three short years after being separated by just three points in the superbowl Philadelphia is right now a 23 and a half point underdog. It's the largest point spread for an NFL game. That does not involve an expansion team according to all the -- the oddsmakers in Las Vegas on the previous high. Was in 1976 on the some of the fifth. The then expansion Tampa Bay Buccaneers were 24 point underdogs to the then defending Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh Steelers in the Steelers covered by the way winning 42 to nothing again. So because of because of the parity in the NFL right now and because of that you know the the free agency era leading to that parity. He just don't see too many spreads in fact you rarely ever she is spread. Over two touchdowns. You just don't. Teams take the starters on the fourth quarter and save them for the next week for the most part if there were able to generate that kind of lead. Sean van Patten who's the odds maker at sports consultant in Las Vegas is. I called this phenomenon the Belichick factor. -- yeah no kidding bike and hitting -- on the fourth quarter Belichick is throwing Vegas out of whack and making book he's run for cover. Now the line for the patriots eagles game was set at 17 points immediately after patriots bills game was over. In the big bettors sports syndicate guys they jumped on that it hard according to Brandon lying who is that regarded as one of the nation's leading sports handy campers. On in all the big money is taking the patriots in giving the points. Which is because you know they all believe that the patriots -- purposely running up the score to the spread jump all the way to 22 from 17. In just a matter of minutes. After the bills game was over on Sunday night. While and now you had affected Donovan McNabb is injured and -- not. Play at all and then they're calling this the perfect storm of sports betting that's -- the spread as a 23 and a half and could still be. Grueling before Sunday night -- and -- but it was his Wilmington at himself as were four more points. So he does not go that spread it kickoff could be 2727 and a half. That's it's just astronomical. And of course they said if the overall record which again is 24. As I mentioned that the buccaneers Steelers game back in 1976 if the record is not -- in this game most sports oddsmakers believe that that record will be set or certainly threaten again in either of the patriots games in the jets. On December the 16 or the dolphins on December the 23. So at any -- just to kind of bring you up to date on. Those stories within the story in the -- to play in the eagles this Sunday night on the you have sentiment football game on NBC. Interesting stuff to say at least right quick notice item I don't want to have in the NFL today. Priest Holmes -- American has the chiefs announcing his retirement is that the watching most of it here on the on NFL network. -- significant not because priest Holmes -- University of Texas although we did. -- but the fact is here's a guy. That is going to retire as the time leading rusher for undrafted players in NFL history. They about the respect he's rushed for 8172 yards in his 11 year career which is pretty good it's a good number. The very good very respectable number in his 11 year career certainly with Kansas City and would Baltimore's first couple years if you recall. But 8172 yards primarily. Primarily done over a span of about eight seasons he could see the kind of impact is -- was an undrafted player. And that's more than heavily 2000 yards better than -- next nearest. Person in that category so he had -- someone will have careers special for someone who wasn't even drafted and came in the league is free agent. Pretty significant thing so wanted to make mention of that is that at. Fairly significant football move today around only any of Vermont emails bases that that. Trivia question gave each I was actually Russell Baxter who -- the answers are special teams player William BP Mark Moseley. The Washington Redskins in 1982 was kicker I think I remember that. And he said then the -- a record for a 140 their points allowed in a 14 game season that was the 77 Arizona Cardinals for the defensive coordinator that team. Was Jerry Glanville. No I hadn't recalled with Jerry Glanville was actually the D coordinator that seven senators don't and he appreciate and and that. That the forward to -- to me. -- was a talented talented coach I had spent quite at a time dealing -- level when he was head coach of the Houston Oilers. I'm back in the mid 80s and covered several that training camp substantial taxes and between what's an angel. You know -- does -- get hot there. And his story for television station covering that Oilers training camp. We're I fried an egg on the sidewalk it was so hot the egg fried. The one from the kitchen or actually -- point 21 from the kitchen training room that the Oilers used it to them. Angelo state university and calm frightening and sidewalk -- we were editing the peace in the satellite truck that I was working in the time. And a coach glen doubled just happened to -- that I coach Ortiz is -- what you guys working on and so total won't work on recent I'd like to see that. We invited him into the satellite truck he can't and in world course it was nice and air condition where few places -- San Angelo Texas at the time. This was 199980 so probably this is summer training camp in 1987 so this would have been -- August of 87. Late July early August of 1987. And brought him as an electric and showed him. The piece that we did. In -- basically a feature piece on the team in talking about the fans and but it was also you know included about how hot it wasn't financial we did not have one day we were there for three days. And we did not have one day. Where the temperature got under during the daytime hours anywhere the temperature got under a hundred degrees it was a hundred plus each of the three days that we were there. So we were baking I mean it was just you know the 105 in the shade it was that kind of you know temperature. And he came in cooled off and -- showed in the peace and then -- showed into the egg that we fried it was a part of video piece in the and I actually had the egg there. Could believe it. I remember his his his incredulous you know disbelief if you will that we get actually do that he's well that means going to give them an extra water break. In which he did but you're always going to onward what's your own thinking get enough credit for being very good defensive coach which he wasn't. And your room statistic and your trivia question -- will prove no doubt -- Montreal since John I know you may have already talked about the -- running up the score topic already. -- Shannon Sharpe said it best we are in the NFL and the defensive coordinator on the other side of the field. He gets paid millions of dollars stopped -- office to tell him to keep score down and I myself agree 100%. I think and content that is that's the general consensus -- most fans especially patriots fans. Think that you know it is the other team's job to stop the patriots. It's the other team's defense a quarter to his job to come up with a plan to release the patriots down if not stop them all together. So they're trying to stop you you're trying to score I was running up the score I personally believe in this day and age it's very difficult. To really. Run up the score. I just I I think it's hard -- that because I think if you. It if you deemed to be running up the score on someone. I think the personalities are such in this game nowadays where I think you definitely see guys taken pot shots that you superstars. And little surprised that nobody's done that -- Brady but I think it's largely because Brady so well respected around the league. And I also believe that. Most of the players there might be a straggler one -- that don't think this way but I and -- the players also realize that the patriots are not. Running up the score. And it's -- what will shame on us we can't stop them these players have pride no one wants to think that they're just being bullied if you don't have in the school run up on. These players definitely have pride. And I also don't think that anyone that wants to be known as the one that took a shot in to somebody else. Because then you're going to be stuck with the a real tagged the rest of career neck and certainly. Backfire on especially if you're nearing free agency and -- have a shot at getting a job someplace else and who knows I believe this also. Strongly that New England now may be a destination point for a lot of players. Around the league who see the patriots as the quintessential franchise right now that they do it right that they that they win and that you know hey when I get my chance to looks -- believe. I'm going to ask my agent shot later -- she'll find it until. I definitely think there's some good food. I think most players not all but most players believe that the patriots are not running up the score. It's just my personal they've says I think the scores going to be on Sunday 480. Like I said before it's time for the defense to shine I hit the Lakers growing up I grew up in New Hampshire and the Celtics were the best during the -- years. I also hate the Yankees obviously 9999 the last few they wants the World Series in August he's going to be chanting 1999 so what do understand but I think it is turning more to ball now that's AWZ at least near here. There isn't -- yeah I have to say that. Is this streak continues day that's probably pretty good point. I think most fans most football fans. You know you may really like you -- team where you are but I don't know that it will be so much hatred of the patriots as it is being awestruck by what the patriots are actually accomplishing I mean. Let's face. Even that in on the semi -- could have you know pretty good year but. They didn't quite it's -- roll to the effect of the patriots are steam rolling now but it review scores we've talked about 52 nothing win they had over New England in that in in -- that was actually the next year but a lot of people think the 73 team was actually better than that 72 team that went undefeated but what the patriots do now is just it it just kind of is like while I'm really. I gotta have a look at this for myself. It's why -- a lot of fans got to look at it like that to be honest with. And I think as we get a little bit closer I really believe it's. I think you're going to find as we get closer to the eventual. You know into the season here six weeks from now on special that giants game only have a chance to go 16 you know. I think going to see more. Bands on the bandwagon you're going to see more followers than haters. Because I do believe that fans are gonna want to say hey you know I want to remember piece of history in the NFL and I'd like to see them do -- have gotten this far. I'd like to see them get and I think that that's the majority not everyone but I think that the majority of football fan. In this country. That in this country appreciate the sport has some knowledge of the history of the sport. Can tell you to a through the great teams of all time and certainly tell you. He or she thinks is the greatest team ball puck but generally -- a team is. Probably going to be a team that they don't have a lot of recollection over but they know because they've read about or they've researched. What they've had people nobody's talk about it but they've seen NFL films -- it. But this patriot team that was seven -- team that they can kind of being called their own even if they're not a fan of the patriots. Because they lived they watch it they sought the it will need -- remember that today. The base all the patriots winning 16 game against zero defeats in the regular season. So I actually believe that there will be a certain faction of fans with the into the year that -- say you know what good for them my hope they do it. Try to you're going to see this even though you may still feeling. Ground -- of and type patriotism around the NFL -- he would swing back a little not a lot but at least a little bit. If the patriots were able to keep this up and then get at a giants game. Ready to make some NFL history. Potentially all we did have some patriots history made this last week. In and we really and I can't believe so much is gone and course the overall. Picture of it the big picture story over the years it has just been kind of glossed over but I I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that -- a couple of things from one Randy moss said in the franchise single season touchdown reception record. With these 13 touchdown of the race of the season his first touchdown of the night that was at 43 yarder in the first quarter that gave the -- fortunately. And then following that. He got three more so his season total now 16. In the record previously heard of 12 touchdowns and -- was blasted which Stanley Morgan did way back in 1979. The 16 touchdown catches by the wouldn't you know has the third highest single season total of his entire career. It trails only the 17 that he had in 1998 and again in 2000 three's and doesn't think any Marshall silly personal. Record for touchdown catches is certainly right there on the precipice of getting. The other record that I think we have to mention as well that we've -- remission in mentioning yours the grace of the franchise career. Touchdown pass Mark. But he is six yarder that he threw to moss in the second quarter it was his third of the night. That became the 183 touchdown pass of Tom Brady's career. That past Steve Bogans franchise record of 182. For his career and al Brady has a 185 total. In 106 career games 400 for the starts. Rogan had his 182 scoring passes in a 149 career games you know think about that per second I mean consumer he was around forever right. And as a reputation and will -- being one of the gutsy as -- quarterback to have ever played the game surely in New England 149 games -- 182 career touchdowns good numbers Tom has bested that 182 -- when he five. In 43 less games. An absolute puts an unbelievable spend. On on on each man's career crew was Great -- easiest. It's phenomenal I guess is relived the best way to put. Course 38 now but he has the lead single season here is a single season record.
