And we kind of thought well you know what a team that has been as dominant as New England has been it is bound to have a stinker is is bound to let it it's a long season. The eagles performance -- you know what we're gonna get right back to the things that have been all season long and of this Baltimore game is going to. It's -- patriots -- going to be back on track. I think what he realized from the Baltimore game on Monday night a couple of things that come off the top of the head and I'm sure you've thought about this yourself but what comes to mind first and foremost is that you can never underestimate the ability of the opponent to work itself into a frost. Because I think that's what. -- everything -- so -- UN guys that -- obviously you played -- or or or -- to -- Taylor and his. Passing and yes that's ray Lewis and some of the others that are involved there. Cost more rollers and I think that's number one number two the fact that -- ravens themselves looked at this game as they search Super Bowl for this year. And because they knew they -- going anywhere in this season have been a huge disappointment went to the ravens players themselves but also took. All fans of Baltimore. Coaching staff and everybody. They know they've had -- shortcomings they have failed they were 13 and three year ago. Only fourth and seven going into this or not going to hit the post season this year and -- did that sums up like we want to improve not only to ourselves. But to everywhere else. We're still capable of playing top flight NFL football. And that we are still one of the best teams if not the entire league certainly -- in the conference and would welcome the decision even though we're you know setting him in the like last place and we can play these guys. And so when you know you have the best team company and that brings the best. Out of you do. Come out -- I just don't think you can ever underestimate that and I think we did. I think not only you'd have spent. I think I did. This is someone who -- to shift in cobbers this team. I think the patriot the rest of hatred media -- and I think the guy's got a hole on the players some. But maybe because she still -- under estimated that as well you just can't do that and so. When you get the the same old tired try to. Focus in on one game at a time we get this cliche you give back cliche we're not worried about 16 you know we're worried about the next game on the schedule. Really concerned about Baltimore were really concerned about Miami we're really good you know what you do or is truth to that. There really hits it sounds like the same whole shtick is the same old routine if the same stuff that you hear every week. There is truth to it and there's truth behind it and now you don't know why there is. That's why it happened this past Monday night this is no way the patriots deserved to win that game. I did the first time all here. In 12 weeks of playing that I -- corrupt I thought they were done in the third quarter. I thought that you don't want -- karma is just not their this is not going to happen this streak is going to be over. And I'm sure that there will be thousands of them and over the country who will rejoice in the fact the patriots the mighty patriots have finally been defeated. And then of the lack of better phrased. You know Baltimore shoot themselves in the foot maybe karma you know raises it's head and decides to blow kisses in the patriots direction again -- But obviously something did. I mean that last drive I still shake my head over and it still try to forget what the hell happened. And I'm sure you probably are too I mean the fact that you had -- attempts it gets stopped and the -- I'd just and you're still playing football. Is just CAA you don't you just don't see that. You're lucky if you see that once every five years or ten years much less once this season. And it wasn't that can you do 123 times in the same drive in the corner please. This team has been asked this that your team has caught up on its side. And the thing is is that now they've got Pittsburgh steeler waiting for them to teams went into them on Sunday a that in wolves. But the patriots can be beaten based on what they've seen over the last two weeks. And so on should look at their chops like thank you Baltimore thank you for -- to have the opportunity to crack the patriots kids. In stop this you know this juggernaut. It was. Wish -- the juggernaut it is you realize the pitcher to still want to play -- the pitcher to start a chance you know to to get into the Super Bowl and win the Super Bowl in and nobody's really gonna remember a lot. -- what happened to. And up to the point of winning a Super Bowl. Unless of course you do manage to go 60 you know on the regular season which is what patriot striving for even though they tell -- time and time again that they're not. They're not concerned -- that and do you believe now. Do you believe that they didn't think we get a timeout but this is not your ultimate goal that you shouldn't. They stone was saying it is hard to win. Any given week in the NFL. In trying to put at least parred two wins scenarios together for 16 straight weeks the odds of doing. That in coming up undefeated are astronomical. So this is why. I only one team in the history of this league has managed to do this the 72 dolphins and they didn't have to go to a 16 game regular season as we all know. This is why especially in this day and age of parity in salary cap in the NFL. This was ought to be one of those records that might never might never get broken. This should shed a little further light on the patriots managed somehow to pull off this beat. There is no question in my mind that they should be considered the greatest team of all time 1 lucky as. I still think -- that great teams have to manufacture their own luck and I think the patriots have done that. Because they have skilled players they have the right people in the right spots. In which to execute. And that's what they did on the last drive yes it did did the winds of good fortune did -- ball in their direction. During that last drive on Monday night there's no old doubt about it. But the fact is you have to be lucky as well as good in order to achieve things like. Perfection in that regard well then maybe the patriots have that. And this is why some teams just have not been able to do what the patriots are trying to do. So let's just a little further light on on what's going on here intelligence debacle that is. And now this allows us to focus squarely to Pittsburgh Steelers coming up on -- on on on Sunday afternoon Tom. This will be tough to do when you have physical teams like the ravens and the Steelers deploy back to back. The fact is is that you know the paper to coming off of three straight night games as well. Which rather -- mentally as much as it does physically. And now you're going to come into a late afternoon game practically a night game that lights will be on the stadium. He'll put the national television audience -- and the Steelers are a little bit more rested and the patriots a little bit more hatred of the ones with the short work week this week and the justice physically if not more so. Then the ravens now -- coming to say that the patrons are going to lose this -- understand that the challenge is obvious the challenge will be great look at the points spread. What's reds would 12. But I -- only 12. It sounds dumb to lose also somewhat comical to consider the fact that they -- even -- at 12 point favorite based on what's transpired over the last two weeks. I don't consider the competition they didn't against. The eagles were 500 to the ravens were they sub 500 team that probably really aren't below poverty but it certainly played that way up until this last -- and I. And that you begin steeler team that's going to win the division it would appear answer would be one of the top four seeds. In the upcoming AFC playoffs. And that is very good possibility they could in the play in the steam against someone down the line. It's it's possible depending on how things -- breaking out over the last four weeks of the regular season. We welcome -- final compatriots today here on the program in this kind of going through I think good teams. Have to have a certain amount of luck and I think the patriots display that they have the karma on their side on Monday night. Also the good teams manufacturer that luck and I in and I do think the patriots have been able to do to -- what we saw on Monday and whether or not. They were able to sustain in this and continue to stool what is undoubtedly going to be another physical match -- this Sunday with the Steelers obviously we don't know about yet but. My thought is over a bit if the patriots are able to get through this tonight and just underscored affect how difficult it is to do what they're trying to do you in the mix and he got a -- not focused on 16 you know. They do get to this and they do reach it no doubt in my mind that have to be considered the greatest team."

For everything to go to one team's favor what something I've never seen before and I think the two. The two elements that I heard -- you know in talking to players at the game. Combination of blocked a combination of still being appeared from the week in practice for any possible situation they feel like. The wage that they prepared await their coach. -- puts them in position to be. Poised to be able to execute and to understand that you know to to make sure that they're never in a position or in a situation. That has never come up before you don't mean they they don't they have all -- I don't I'm not saying that. They are in practice they are talking about when it's fourth and one and you get stopped -- and the other team calls a timeout you can't predict that you don't know you do what. It through to deportees to OK if we feel on this fourth down we get another chance -- were going to do and that was the difference between the two teams one was poised and what was not now when you talk about you know you know talk about the tough stretch going up against Pittsburgh now. And I get in the weekend and you need some of what you call -- lock with the college you know all fortune on your side you can -- of that and -- against the ravens with one where if they do if they do go undefeated if that is as special season as we feel might be. You'll look back an -- while. That was one that we we -- barely -- and and if we didn't we'd be talking about them but I know an absolutely remarkable finish two against what was the only thing that I can compare to is that there DI intentional safety on Monday night game in Denver -- four years ago on it I -- just a coincidence that there are both on Monday night. But as far as our. Current events that you just never seen a football game it's it's right up there with that."

Good the Brady the brief fail on the and the Evans fail and the game is over the ravens went and and if Bart Scott gets call from maybe only one unsportsmanlike conduct Adam Eaton or none let alone to do need to be the ravens have a little better field position. And Kyle boards hail Mary that is being at the three yard line in the yards into the end zone right and and and what still say that you don't they're they're still would be a factor of I what -- called the penalty the absolutely -- penalty and Derrick Mason for not just -- it's not an open just before that yelled I have a day as well you know -- Wheaton and you know maybe need to would have that -- as well but. Asia as well and so he could. To -- into the fact we have 56 drop pacers' you know I got this idea that Benjamin Watson's -- where they would have but also Hollywood to get him out of the touchdown in need. Would have that's right and then you don't have an effective running game in which to counterbalance that and get into that you know in the midst of indeed it's because there's so stretched out and receivers the -- to creating problems for themselves they must find almost keep the balance the off yeah."

[18:36]" Well you brought up what I think was was maybe the key to the game in the -- first 57 minute category -- which we separate the game entered into those two categories the first 57 minutes in the final three. Fact that Wes Welker was taken out of the game to -- was the biggest key in the game last week when Randy moss had similar production against the eagles as he did against the ravens. Wes Welker was an absolute machine on third down. And that gave the patriots guy you know in many occasions for having a three and out and wanting to progressing to drive and you get a field goal or touchdown. The ravens. Held Randy moss in check out for the most part he should've had another touchdown the one he dropped it. -- could have made a few of the plate but the patrons were two of 12 or 13 on third down. And Wes Welker had three catches in the entire game. Only one of them came. After the first two plays of the game he catches the first two plays of the game. And the rest of the game hit one catch for about six yards from the fact that the ravens were able hold Randy moss in check in yet still. Prevent Wes Welker preparing them up over the middle what is the difference in the game that. Kept the ravens in the game if Wes Welker is able to make a few more catches on third down I wish. -- during the game I'd spent more time sort of looking at at Wes Welker and seeing what the defense was doing to take commodity game I would."

They can't have two defenders on on everybody and we've been saying all year is that the patriots have enough offensive weapons to overcome the possibility of the fence doubling up on one or even two specific guys. And really they they they weren't able to do that bomb on Monday night the running game you know sort of it some. This seeding production you know Laurence Maroney had those two two huge catch -- runs were -- not that he you know he got. About 80 yards on nose -- and you know. They did run for close I think it was close to a hundred yards as a team. On it didn't feel that way during the game I don't think that they had a really productive game time running the ball they tried a few different things don't last week against Philadelphia in the first half on they pretty much went exclusively to four with four wide receivers and Kevin -- and -- and they you know they changed that up a bit but you know they're they're they're on their most productive in the passing game. Bomb or at least they had been for awhile and if if if if that production starts to drop I don't think that they can rely on on on their one game on to win games at this point."

That they've they've got to find a way to balance it out and be able to rely on the run game which I don't think they can right now the other thing that really pops out at me. Most sensible things I think again that the patriots obviously need to work on I'm sure that something -- address this week as best as they can't. The got a total score on first down defense. This -- by -- in his article but I think we saw all the that the patriots defense up the middle. Without some of them in the W ability to shuffle linebackers did not play situations and not rely on haven't you know really leave juniors -- Teddy Bruschi in particular company on the field for 4050 plays that's -- in this -- And the -- that you can run on New England."

One of the more productive run eat raw running game by opposing offense that -- and and a little disappointing in the in the defensive line you know they did go to 43. On the start out and their defensive line is and they would do that by the way and -- it -- because they really they really only have. Four linebackers that they can rely on. On to a defensively and -- pure gold with a 234 defense our way through game and we've looked at the age of some of their linebackers that's not going to be productive by the different -- it's certainly not by the end of the season and that's really what they have to be looking towards granted they're they're going in every game with a game plan to win but they have to be. Now they're definitely in the playoffs they have to be mindful. Of of hey if you're going to rely on 38 year old junior say Allen 345 year old Teddy Bruschi arm through they hope the first week of February you've got to be mindful of the waiter appeared on them but I I -- all disappointed in in the defense like is there the more younger younger fresher on component to the front seven in the and the linebackers are put on the front seven they they really weren't doing the job -- McGahee had. You know not as a career game but he had had to -- one of the better -- in his career and like -- first -- you know you know you -- 56 yards on first down on your put -- profits -- pretty good -- there. You know how can he solve that they can't solve it by bringing in younger fresher quicker legs at this point even after all last week when they were looking to sign a linebacker.
