But also in light of the fact that Major League Baseball is going through this rather tremendous momentous day in terms of the Mitchell report in the list of alleged you know steroid users and or abusers and or shall we say purchasers in this particular instance then is details want themselves in the interest of just general sports as large will. In the Red Sox organization so I mean these are some of the names that have come across a Julian Tavarez from this last year's pitching staff for the Red Sox. His name is on this list that I saw so. -- let me say this that you know when when the official -- does become available -- and I become privy to -- I will share with you in the meantime we are going to try to continue to focus on what our football league today because that is what we do. On in the fact is the patriots do have this game it could be a rather momentous game depending upon the outcome of the final score. Of Sunday's game certainly over what we've learned over the last 2448 hours in terms of the jets potentially having violated some rules by videotaping you know -- or doing their own videotape being -- that they had. Patriots permission first of all I just I I find just really bizarre can imagine the patriots. And I probably should have mentioned this yesterday in the program and just you know press thought about Ron like that really --"

Why -- the patriots have proven that all of a sudden not approve I just I don't get that part and there's obviously more to the story than what we're hearing what is being told that I don't know will ever really get the the bottom of the entire duke suffice it to set. Is that there's enmity between the two -- I aides did I might even be a little bit about not hatred there certainly envy. And the fact is is that when you play a team twice a year because they're in your own division you're going to Juan stay ahead of the other guys. You're going to want to win and you're gonna want to do one every it possibly take. To get that win at just the way it is that's the nature of the beast in pro sports. It still high you know -- I'm sure it will continue to follow will continue to talk about it as the situation warrants in his. Is new details become available on whether or not that the jets should be penalized what frankly I don't know I don't really have an opinion on it I mean I don't. But I want to kind of get away from the he said she said they and that's where I think this whole. Jets patriots you know they videotaped this first thing is going and that may be why the patriots are going to. Stay in low on this and and and in -- and you know hate were focused on this week's game and and that's it. You know soul whether the jets did or not right now I'm not sure is entirely relevant to what needs to happen on the field this Sunday. Bottom line as the patriots need to win. They don't need to win necessarily convincingly I think we're all we've all convinced ourselves that they should win convincingly that maybe they do need to win convincingly I don't think it's necessary. A win is a win is a win is a win. That's just the way it is and when you're thirteen and -- and you're staring immortality in its face. Which is what the patriots are doing right now than. All the rest is Canon fodder and it's just like it's useless info."

Then you tell me you gotta look gets back to decide ahead again before you you know and develop that that -- I don't think so I think football -- economy is a game of ebb and -- And I just don't think you can sustain. Just you know out hatred throughout a sixty minute ball that is on the answer while these guys are professionals and want to go up there and don't want to plays as hard as they can for as long as the camp you know bullying and end in thing in the these guys -- read this out and these guys are bad people and or whatever you want to thank it's too hot -- sustain you for sixty minutes football just impossible can't do it. I don't know that the patriots will score 34 I'm going to say that the weather's going to keep the score down a little bit. If the patriots are forced to run the football in all in and the jets know what's coming frankly I don't know that that entirely works in the patriots favor but I'm also banking on the fact the jets are going to turn the football over a couple of times. And the patriots will probably want to get off to a good start and try to jump on them early and then kind of coasted it. So that's why I'm gonna say thirty fours that that's my thought on Sunday. And so I don't normally give you my score prediction right off the top program but I want to know what you think about that prediction. You agree or disagree going to be a little higher than ever going to be a little lower than that obviously I I had didn't hesitate little bit because. Frankly the way the that the yum point spread -- come down from 27 to 23 and a half indicates that. In -- way there's there's there's sentiment if not out now money going on the jets because of the weather. Maybe to be more like 27 to six. Could be -- very well could be there's a foot or two of snow on the ground could be. Then of course that would justify being able to you know take that that -- But I'll stay with 34 zippers and now stands and in I want to know what you think about Sundays game and in -- and whether or not think that says. A realistic realistic point of view. Arm there are -- I'm sure you'll wear several milestones for the patriots -- approaching. All that they could. Meat or or surpassed."

Patriots need to win on Sunday to become the third game in the NFL history to win fourteen consecutive games within a single season. 72 dolphins and the 2004 Pittsburgh Steelers also did what else did we see that came across here all patriots need the win on Sunday. To tie the 193334 Chicago Bears for the second longest. Regular season winning streak in NFL history which would be seventeen straight wins. We're going to have to be able to adjust on the field and a couple of good decision making it. It's a very challenging team to prepare for they do a lot of different things they do a lot of different things very well. But as I suggested earlier when it comes right down to letting hatred drive you you gotta have something more substantial that because you just can't sustain it. And so in this particular instance I don't that you could sustain. The quote on quote dislike for the jets not on the football that we may be able to sitting in the stance we may be able to but we're not there. You know. Knocking each other upside the head like guys are and of course. The players. They know each other lot of them are friendly. Lot of them have played together in the past. If so that automatically going to watered things down on the -- with a -- you realize that one it would minute that is in fact the case."

Can't say that it really surprise me and I know you probably hoping for a little bit more but that's just the way it works with a guy like Tom Brady in in the but it will take his were pretty much for gospel it now anyway. On the flip side of the story is of course jets quarterback Kellen Clemens who's -- Michener his. Managed to -- six starts in his NFL career stepping in for Chad Pennington when it was deemed he was. You know either not able because he's just not able -- too banged up or. The jets wanted to go to for direction or or for what about a number of reasons and probably some truth to. Just about anything that you throw out there right now but. Fact is that that's who the jets are going to hang in there at on this weekend. -- another thought into the wolves -- they really think they have a chance to stay in the game who knows but it is an unbelievable. In -- believable opportunity for a young man who could certainly. Only because of the significance of the story in the overall and the on a professional sports here although we know the football -- that somewhat differently than Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball has nobody to blame but itself and I think that's in a nutshell what senator George Mitchell has set in his report today over. 30400 pages long and it's it's it's a monster but. You know -- others and significant name's Roger Clemens is definitely unit and -- it Miguel Tejada is -- Barry Bonds is in it several of the names that I haven't yet gotten to as I've read through it and another people are still trying to decipher it and get to there were rumors. You know that was certain from soccer players out there and and still trying to make sure that we get confirmation. On all those before all is said and done based on what we know in the report. It boils down to the fact though that there was one page particular page 169 mr. -- Where an actual injection in -- Clemens his hind quarters was detailed. Detailed but Brian Mac means the former New York Yankees trainer who worked with both Clemens and Pettitte. And someone who was interviewed believe like three times by senator Mitchell. In this particular steroids human so calm. I find that kind of interesting in in you know it if it is indeed true. Is Clement was singled out an eight different pages in this report with the some of the information coming from that -- obviously. Then them that's just you know that's shame I mean. You'd like to think that there are some people that would just go down in history as being kind of a freak. Telling Nolan Ryan you know on another been a lot of allegations about what he might have a might not have done. During his time because he was able to have you know in a lot of ways it's more effectively after he reached the age of forty. Com just. Just kind of makes me shake my head I'm I'm sad. For baseball on sad for professional sports I'm sad for fans I'm set for my son who's crushed by a couple of names that are on the list. You know he's thirteen and he's not sure who to believe what to believe -- anymore I'm just sad. In baseball has nobody but itself to blame for this. And you have to start right at the top and and I've actually in the last couple years relief appreciated more or what Bud Selig has done for baseball as opposed to which so many people -- you know hammered him for. What he's not done for baseball. But unfortunately this is knew where his legacy is going to lie. He was the commissioner during the steroids decade and that's one of the things -- as well that you know senator Mitchell report says that for more than a decade there has been widespread anabolic steroid use in baseball. Everyone involved in baseball over the past two decades commissioners club officials players association players shares to some extent the responsibility for the steroids era. There was a collective failure to recognize the problem as that he merged -- deal with the early on."
