Play from 0:34[0:34]" of patriots football weekly and -- Burrell and Andy Hart here at Gillette stadium Friday December 14. I'm Sally is alongside no -- beret and he's probably doing them what they're -- last minute christmas shopping eleven days removed from the holiday. But the exciting news here is we actually have a roster move to talk about this week not just the injury report and the weekly awards although Tom Brady did bring in another award Fatima if he offensive player of the week. But the actual transaction patriots placed defensive lineman Mike Wright on the injured reserve list with a foot injury and signed tight end even spot. -- spot as in the guy from Star -- Spock is that 25 a second year player out of Fresno Davey played in thirteen games of the eagles six to four to fifty. On the brings a little depth the tight end spot with the patriots have been getting by. We've only two tight end Ben Watson and Kyle Brady. -- they lose a little depth on the defensive line Tom how do you think this affected especially coming off a game where they rotated pretty much throughout the game all those defensive --"

Play from 1:41[1:41]" Group yells going to hurt the rotational little bit I think especially -- side would Wilfork with -- before. How he has we have proved that companies and take a lot of snaps this year and that's why they brought it Rashad Moore. As a for a trials of Bobby Hamilton probably is Paul said earlier we just -- would be left in the paint kind of thing in case they -- for the playoffs. But I'm guessing not much -- Mike Wright does play. Quite a bit and I think that hurt the rotation. Especially rotation reader wondering and they have a lot of gas left with all the snaps a big Vince Wilfork is taken in Richard Seymour looks come out cities under percent healthy right yet it definitely hit to the depth here. And the versatility because as you said he's the one guy that anywhere in Europe backup to Wilfork at the nose so you know it's sort of like the position had they got in at linebacker when Roosevelt Colvin goes down. Initially yeah they have the horses they can -- Seymour in their longer they can bring Jarvis Green and but if a guy like Wilfork goes down now now you're scrambling to fill roles whereas at least you had Wright who had some experience there. So you know they're they're getting a little thin up front and we talked about this. Which teams running the ball right at them trying to wear them down and you know I know Mike -- wrote today and they have been remarkably healthy all year. But they're starting to be healthy but without a net to work with -- it is not a lot of room for error here at some positions with the injuries and I just wonder. You know as we move forward to that we -- manage it all do we see a guy like which even Smith gets some -- not so much because he's ready to play but. Just to make sure Vince Wilfork is ready to play in the second week of January at playoff time comes around you might I don't think they love we'll keep it meant that nose tackle I think they like you Boras and the book. I do think one. They beat the jets most likely to wrap everything up I don't in the starters are anything like that. But I do think maybe he will for -- had more plays -- that he normally would. Just to keep fresh because the bottom line is the goal when Super Bowl you want those guys -- ready to bill. Come January February. Are you a little surprised at the the box signing here you know they've gotten by without the extra tight and for awhile now you'd think they sort of be. Used to it -- you know Callahan of -- and the various bodies they've kind of pushed through -- you surprised at the signing or was it we had a roster spot he was the best of the guys we try to. Well I think Ben Watson with a little bit it up and Kyle Brady's older and we know he's been monitored throughout the year. So I think with a lot -- you know little injured they here's the here's one position we could add of depth I don't know much about Spock obviously I don't know please ask that generally go with his game is exactly it's obviously a position where they could add that goes okay -- handles guys I picket line up tight -- and everything but if Watson or someone goes down. It out of tight end in depending on the entry to Watson we know he's excited being up in the past so."

Play from 4:35[4:35]" It's obviously just for depth and the other issue right is very active on special teams yes both in blocking and coverage units you know he has that. You know he's probably pleased -- more like a six foot 4250 -- like Spock is so that could've played in there where they need that. Tight end linebacker build on some of the coverage units in place some of those roles so that's going to be of secrecy of special teams he does play a lot of specialty to see if if that uses a step down and another guy who fills you know some of the admirals at least. Sort of the up front the diamond positioning they call it -- from the kick return. Is Stephen -- he's been banged up with a shoulder injury to some of their bigger athlete the kneels in the right now getting banged up my guess would be. When my tee box sort of fill some of those roles as as you said. Brady can't Kyle Brady and talking about because of his age and you need to get the reps you uniting him -- tight and not not special teams really. And then Watson -- nicked up you know. Tends to get hurt sometimes an usher me ready dont lie and -- special teams bright -- that shoulder all these so I think seven this has as much to about special teams as it does. Depth at tight end or defensive linemen considering that signing we will look at the injury report as we always do here on this broadcast. Obviously the first thing is Mike Wright going on IR. I did not participate in practice on Thursday is guard Billy you -- with there's a foot injury he saw little but it time last week in -- place but. Obviously he's sort of the extra extra -- there hopes and the guys complain as I mentioned -- still limited in practice with a shoulder. On my boy -- Sanders knee injury limited him -- that's a new one it is a new one and that. That's a bit of a concern because we've sort of joked about it but the guys they've touchdowns this year. He's he's saved them from giving up score by giving up big plays I really think -- do what would Eugene Wilson wasn't doing -- he's making that last -- we saw on the pre season game against Carolina when Eugene Wilson came up -- that tackle up he would cut down. Sanders is make you know tackles at liberty eagles placed at 1015 yard gains. So I think that would be the law he -- play and he's a guy that you know there's been some talk around here Ellis Hobbs hasn't continued to to improve or get better. I think James Sanders every time he plays you know whether it's confidence whatever he seems like he's. Getting more comfortable he'll make that open field tackle he's you know gonna try for a -- he's going to try and make some plays so be disappointing if he is forced to miss any time although. Being limited in practice doesn't mean yeah he's going to miss any time Mike -- able by limited in practice on Thursday tight end Benjamin Watson ankle limited. And full participation but on the injury report as he always is quarterback Tom Brady -- his right shoulder. The patriots are relatively healthy right now but a few injuries here on defense starting to affect maybe some of the rotations some of the things different things they can do in terms of moving players in and out but nothing that should really dramatically effect the starting lineup. Moving forward here this weekend against the New York Jets. And the biggest topic on here Gillette stadium as the snow will there be a blizzard here. Will there be re visit to the type -- game that against the Miami Dolphins a couple years ago right now the forecast is up in the air. And that people -- sort of torn between two feet of snow or rain. And weatherman like football analysts seem to just kind of drawn up that they go along we'll find out on Sunday when you turn in for the game. That's going to put the -- and other patriots dot com roster report podcast. See -- next week."
