And -- but it was full of everything that you need and everything that you wanted as well I also old I'm a little bit. Well here here's one here's one come because it is the quality time -- somewhat. Generous for me anyway I I want to start off. By saying. So what's a good way to go with us you know when you look at at at them at what the patriots may be about who accomplishment your well from baker. Football perspective I I really. It's hard almost two and capitalize what we've been talking about throughout the course -- the last 1516 weeks or and now that they're finally here it it it's just it's almost. Tough."

Of the next several days now of course we all realize that if the patriots do not win on Saturday then it's a moot point although that the ultimate goal is still ahead. The flip side to that is the patriots could win Saturday and then if they fell short of the Super Bowl well then obviously who's going to remember this I heard stadium. To call -- local talk show earlier today say that to him. Then what mattered most was sixteen and out. Regardless of the civil because the papers have already won three syllables that nobody has done the sixteen don't think. And I just kind of think that's a little bit bass backwards. And that's really put that you know the receiver and find another room cliched appear prisoners put the cart full -- You know I mean you don't get the Super Bowl in this particular instance a less perhaps sixteen you know come first now I realized there already in the playoffs. But if you're sixteen NL and you just don't win it all. In reality. You who's really going to remember what happened during the regular season I argued nobody. Does anybody remember that the 2001 Seattle Mariners 100 and what was -- 160 games. No yeah that that nobody remembers why because they did not win the World Series. So idea that the last two teams to finish the regular season undefeated prior the only other two teams that finished the regular season undefeated. Bubble for the Miami Dolphins with a 1934 and 1942 Chicago Bears. -- going back and his reported today neither one of those teams managed to win the NFL championship that year. And so the only way that we remember the 34 and 42 bears is what their ultimate failure. So for anybody to sit on sixteen and it was great Super Bowl is just icing on the cake you really kind of got it backwards. These guys on this football team have been pointing toward the disappointment. Of last year's AFC championship in Indianapolis they were you know -- you know one play or two away from getting back to the super bull they had aid mission to improve their team. In specific areas in an effort to make sure that that did not that disappointment did not happen again. And now -- on the precipice. Of realizing. At least the first goal. In mind was to return. To the playoffs and of course the byproduct of all of that is that sixteen many seasons which undoubtedly is what this patriot. You know 2007 season is -- boiling down to AXA sixteen. Many seasons scenario is what really is this how this team is focused the gone from week to week other focus in on nothing but the dolphins last week focusing on so they say nothing but the giants this week. And that is how they've done it in nobody else has been able to do what they've done so far be it must criticized there. Is there -- they're they're philosophy their way of doing things because it has certainly worked for them. You pull -- your starters and in the papers do have an off week next week. They have two weeks in the in effect now to prepare for the opening round playoff match of course that they don't know that's going to be just yet. And they won't know until after the of the wild card weekend with a -- like. We kind of get the feeling that the giants may be doing some rest him because they don't have. A wild card that I mean they don't have a bye in the wild card which they must play in the opening round of the playoffs. The game means dozen of them they've locked in the five seed in in their done in the NFC. Patriots are done in the AFC they've got the buy all the way -- on the got by the got home field advantage all the way through eviction advanced that far. So in the overall scheme of things this game on Saturday means squat. Means nothing you won't change the fortunes although either team win or lose. And yet this came is getting it is much advance billing it is much built up you know is gosh it's it's. You know it's all of -- paean. It's all over the web sites and boards are going crazy with -- mean you know here we are we're talking about it now."

[7:28]" It's just it's getting this kind of build ups that would because of the fact the patriots can finish what they can finish sixteen and -- and nobody in the history of the national. Oops sorry about that no -- in the history of the National Football League. Can say that they've ever gone sixteen -- four. Nobody I mean -- really had a chance since you know since 1980 but at the same time nobody's done it. And yet it doesn't mean a thing is they started off the program. When -- means nothing unless they can they can advance on in the playoffs and get the Super Bowl maybe ultimately win the Super Bowl the three teams. They have finished regular seasons undefeated in in in the 88 year history of the NFL again at 34 bears 42 bears in the 72 dolphins. Each advanced to the championship game but it was the dolphins that was the only one team that won that one. 3442 bears lost in the then NFL championship games. Where's the dolphins went on to win the Super Bowl that's where we get the holes seventeen and opening through the playoffs fourteen on the regular season -- Patriots have a chance -- to match that would surpass it if they they -- by year. So why ask you -- is it in your perfect opinion. In your -- good adjective that I can find here in the are educated opinion. Okay because you you know you've seen this team play now you follow this team along you know for the course of the year you have a pretty good knowledge of who needs to be there and who's playing well now on who's not and even if -- I'd I'd be interested. In what you think about this philosophical question. Should go all out. I mean game -- a game as the game as the game should they play the players they have available should they just play the game regardless. Of what the overall standing years or what is at stake. Or or are you are you of the opinion that you know maybe you're you're tempting fate by playing players. One necessarily on injured -- putting him out there at risk of further injury. Meet so many people make that argument in the courts that are are others that as well it's football and you -- hurt at any point in time during any game and whatever. So roster -- impact for the patriots I'm also talking for the giants mom EI in the way. You'd think should be out on the field this Saturday night at giants stadium. We -- the christmas holiday yesterday so. You know with everybody given extra time off the fact is is that there's less time to prepare for the game. Does that affect. You know your thought process on who should play this game and who should maybe think about taken some time off I mean to many is a fairly simple question. I don't think that you intrigued and and and maybe I'm maybe I'm buying into the whole Bill Belichick Keyon. What is doing things here but to make this makes the most sense. The guys who were able to play should -- if you're looking at it from a patriots point of view. Should treat this game like any other regular season -- you want to win it will courts you do you -- played fifteen mini seasons prior to this one. With the express consent and express purpose of winning it that game. Focusing on that team and winning that week. And so if you were true to yourself -- your philosophy the that's exactly what you do this week. You don't really rest anybody the only people that rest or the people that not physically able to go. Now tell you that I I would be surprised if we saw much different lineup than what we saw this last week against the dolphins. And by that I mean you know the patriots you know basically did away with the -- and in the year you know offensive sets because of the injuries to Benjamin Watson and Kyle Brady. And so you know those two guys that I definitely think it -- they're already 100% of what they were all ready pretty much ready to return last week. And that the extra week off you don't put them -- a 100% level then there's no way that they should play this week what. Because you want everybody helping as you possibly can for the playoffs you need every waking moment that you can get I mean let's face it. If you don't have the ability to attack the middle field with a guy like Bill Watson -- No Kyle Brady then that's going to take away significant weapon that the patriots have. And when you get into a team. That can be ball control you face team. You know like the Jacksonville Jaguars Pittsburgh Steelers in that opening round and that in that and at first week -- the patriots for the AFC championship then. You're going to need to do some of your own ball control -- to put the other team back and its -- you need to make the other team play out of its comfort zone. And so teams like Pittsburgh and Shanksville able to play in the comfort zone. You're not win in the battle there. You might ultimately when the game but you know it's going to be a tougher road to -- you want other teams to play. You want to dictate tempo you other teams to play to view our game plan. You don't want to have to play others. Patriots need the ability is good to see that they've been able to run the football and congratulations Laurence Maroney for the fourteen carries for -- 156 yards. You know I still question their ability. Fact is he busted a couple of long was that we've been waiting for all season long to me it's kind of like a home run hitter. To me it's -- like a home run hitter I mean we've been waiting all season long for Laurence Maroney hit a homer he hadn't hit one NE finally hit two on Sunday. He finally -- so you know long overdue as far as I'm concerned but it was good senior analyst. Again here here's the thought process overall you've got to be able to dictate to others you have to him you have to. You have to put your will on other teams. And so if you've got players who -- hurt and yes she should arrest them if you're able to play if -- physically able to play this weekend. You should play. Now the giants I believe is a little bit different story. -- coming up in approximately forty minutes Michael Eisen. Did you get a patriots helmet I mean I'm just curious. You know even if it's not something that's not patriots related of the -- that I'd be curious -- I think I got a again a dvd my alma mater the Texans long ones there -- than their rose bowls over the last few years want to want to VO national champ a couple of years ago and the one -- Michigan the year before that with the previous rose bowl which I didn't have a copy of so I was actually appreciative of that because I didn't have the foresight to record that one. So I was you know Mike you know to me that was my big sports that I got to a couple of dvds that I really want to got my son into golf bag. Is that what he really needed he wanted to bag with that all the clubs as he has about 642 -- clubs that he likes to play with even though you know -- carry thirteen times on. So that he got that that was his big deal you know any Randy Moss Jersey. I'm Randy molesters actually had a friend. Of the family get a green monster but but that's what he wanted. He's totally into the -- Brady to moss and -- although he definitely disagreed with Brady throwing into double and triple coverage up -- and and that -- for the we'll realism we hope we don't seat. On Saturday. I'd be interested I don't know what your your your sports related gift items might have been on the receiving in -- if you gave a pretty good one. To someone I'd like to know what it was that you gave always interest to -- it's quite frankly I'm somewhat gift challenged I don't. You know I I considered I can talk you for a couple of hours every day during the football season as we do. And you know and I do talk shows you know when Boston and I -- money -- and and you know various things and -- and -- palpable -- when it comes to. Commonwealth would like to use. If for some reason other you know -- gifts. I I just I I -- I don't do the job my wife is constantly bemoaning the fact that I don't do good job coming up with creative. Things to do from gifts. She says it seemed like it did back in my old standbys. I don't know why it is like isn't is creatively challenged when it comes to gift giving. The Internet and -- cards with the best two inventions ever. As far as I'm considered. In the gift giving category so if you got some ideas frankly could could we share could bite to eat it is again and that of course if you were also -- what gift giving challenged -- like I am you perhaps if we get. Some ideas shared here on the program and quite frankly may be can help you as well as help me. So I mean to this you know information exchange thing unity and on -- the day after christmas but you're like me you got to a three gift cards I didn't. A either eggs they existed or -- before they got good. And so you follow the giants for number of years and even though. The patriots are new England's team now and have been for the last 48 years. You might still have that soft spot for the New York football giants as they were known for a number of decades in his Chris Berman still call them and I understand that. In fact television stations ran yearly stint in the Rhode Island whenever they are carrying NFC games they usually. Prefer to carry the giants even -- technically this is not a New York football market percent. Well they still carry the giants broadcaster over the jets and over anybody else even over the potential for carrying on you know teams that the patriots might player. What have you they -- the giants. In apparently they do pretty well the ratings here. So sounds to me like there could be some. Emotion one way -- the other. I'm sure no doubt you're aware of the story -- giants fans selling their tickets in robes. Because of the game this week in meaning nothing to giants fans. Add to the football team that matter you know it it's been in the media over the course the last 2448 hours in particular actually since Monday. All the right after the patriots game was over with against the dolphins on Sunday tickets started appearing in particular wants double -- dot com which as you know one of Leo. Ticket reselling sites it's out there on the web and giants fans. Are giving up their tickets number one because the game doesn't mean -- number two -- think that the patriots and patriots fans in particular oh would want a shot to go see their team finished sixteen and -- and become the first and who knows maybe only team to ever accomplish such a feat. And so what they're doing giants fans. Are selling their tickets for one game at a premium products whether or not it's a two you know. Pull the wool over the eyes of patriots nation or -- make back some of the cash they spent on their own season ticket which quite frankly. If I were giants -- and -- holding season tickets quite frankly I'd have to think long and hard about. You know it now. You could certainly be critical of giants fans and say well I would support your team. In a way to bail on him here you know the got a chance to you know beat the patriots play the braves beat the patriots beat the team that can finally knocked the patriots from the ranks of the unbeaten. Even though the game overall won't mean anything to your playoff chances and at what expense -- you beat the patriots if you lose somebody else to injury like they've done this year. But the fact is is that you know if your season ticket already had your tickets you have a chance to go see. They imply. Would you hold on to the ticket to would you give them up. If someone was willing to pay you say all I don't know a thousand bucks a ticket. Have you had two tickets for the game and you could make two grand on what you. Or would you people to support your team. You know I actually know some people would signal is no way am selling on keep on that's what I do moment ago support my team on some others who would say you know what. I'm just as much a fan but quite frankly I look at this from a fiscal stance and a some dummy is going to be an idiot enough to pay you know upwards of thousand to 1500 I've even seen were a couple of tickets when his highest 1600 dollars apiece. Although website earlier then who might say no no she's a big fan. But I'm not a 3200 -- and Brooke or tickets. You can make back your entire season ticket cost in the week. Basically -- your saves to maybe a few shekels left over. If you were fortunate enough to hold tickets for the game and -- some fan who really wanted to go where money is no object. I have to think that the majority of patriots fans alike that. I mean I know the people that sit -- front of us there at Gillette you know world were located on the you know about the forty yard line in the in the boat broadcast area of people as a runner for results from a bus between 35 -- figure. Honestly I see some corporate types but I see a lot of older people who have been season ticket or for a number of years. And they support team in and frankly I I'd be curious to know how they would do it if the shoe on the other foot. If you could make up your entire season. In just one week given up one game at a game it really doesn't mean anything to your team if you look at Indian from the -- perspective would you have to think about it at least. I think about it. I don't know that I've given up for a couple hundred bucks but I'd have to think about it I really would so I owe you one of those patriot fans. That's looking for a chance to go to the game. Maybe you've even bought tickets from a giants -- already this week or you you've got him to give to a a patriots fan for christmas. For the holidays even. Any and you're going to go to the game at giants and on Saturday and he bought the tickets office somebody who was selling. If so great I really would like to hear from you today. A search for -- yes timlin human notes here about 1600 bucks apiece was the top ticket price I'm sure that up it's probably beyond that today. Maybe you've gone to a recently shopping for your own tickets and you have if you've noticed what that a limit might be and what the price range might be I'd be interest if you want to pass along. I'm not buying okay I'm not selling. But I'm just -- of the phenomenon continually amazes me. You know what something's -- somebody in the answer today ideas it's worth what somebody's willing to pay. Soul or a couple of 75 -- couple hundred dollar seats. 99 dollars he's whatever may be a couple of 9599 dollar hundred dollar seats worth. You know a thousand -- 2000 dollars -- what are they worth -- worth whatever you're willing to pay for much what their work. Tom Brady was hit six times in the game on Sunday he was sacked three times. In only one of the game this entire season has he been hit or sacked as much and that was against Baltimore. So you know here's in offensive line that had not one not two but three members voted into the pro bowl. But this year and -- and offensive line that well all the other quarterback get hit as much as he has been hit all season long against the team that again is. One and thirteen. I'm not sure quite understand that. So definitely that there's something to work on there pass protection but the run blocking however you know if -- point to criticize we should also compliment. Run blocking was outstanding coming up with a couple seal blocks on the left hand side of the line and we credit now Matt light for part of that is well than he did get whip once or twice by Jason Taylor. But you know Maroney did rip off 51 and 59 yard runs. Like I said earlier first time he's it really home runs all season long career best 156. Average better than eleven yards per carry. So I mean we've been waiting all year for that it was great to see it -- better late than -- suppose. Even almost certainly still have questions about is their ability but. He you know his his performance was. One that he needed to have and one that the team needed from him so in that regard it was a step in the right direction without question. Just would have liked to have seen a little bit more of a sense of urgency of this team -- done so well -- putting blinders on. And concentrating on just the task at hand and getting better themselves if not out -- just attacking the opponent. But to see you know the team in Brady in particular throwing the double and triple cover Randy Moss was -- Still having guys who were open underneath but taking a shot at going deep. You know okay maybe take a shot but I mean about the guys are open aren't you aren't you in effect and and felt kind of wrote about this in the Boston there would be an had a chance to read it and a lot I agree -- you know but this is one area where I do agree with him. Are you getting away from major team what it is like taking shots upfield like that. Aren't you supposed to be eighteen the first. You know always turns around to will be one player do you want -- and everybody wants to play because that's what the condition to do however. When we take this another step. Of course we realize that neither team can improve their position their respective positions this week. You can only really get something negative out of this if someone does get hurt. Add to that the fact that there have been some significant injuries special and the giants other football as well and certainly Brandon Jacobs and it was one of those although I that we did see his replacement like this week. On fact is is that it just doesn't make much sense to put guys in there especially when you know what you gotta be. The next week."

[1:01:07]" Yeah I mean I I can't disagree -- you you know you've got players who want to play in a coach who would like to win the game and you know I think it's and also I don't think coach doesn't want to just give these guys week off and have sit around you know I think as some of the players that today. It's more important generates a momentum than it is to rest. And like Jacobs said no one's in years screaming let's rest so. You know again it's it is guesswork you know coach may -- to just have these guys that he won't play it safe but. My guess would be -- at least get some action."

Last couple years the giants won their last game of the regular season is that right yet and and they lost in the playoffs so how does Tom Coughlin and kind of handled that. Trying to may be change things up a bit in an effort to keep that momentum going."

[1:02:07]" Well I think you know the last two years we had to win. -- two years ago to win the division last year it was just in the playoffs this year we are you are art. How much is bad influence in their decision to want to play."

I don't know what you election -- sit down now and did Jacobs went out what is ankle last week he's had some injuries that he came back here in but I'm not going to alliance and don't care about being the first -- to -- patriots obviously it's very much on their minds to doing the best candidate to downplay it but it's really not what what the that the -- for them to get out there and play play well generates some momentum going to camp the next."

[1:04:35]" Well so it doesn't hurt you know particularly when you're struggling it really helped the other day we've played some really bad weather conditions and buffalo this. Is this just -- it seems to me to be a match up on Saturday of strength against strength in a lot of ways and whichever team just -- out will the other or perhaps maybe a better description would be a team that can impose its will on the other team could be a pretty good chip."

I don't know what coach posters and do I would assume you know Austin's they're going for six you know record is not going to pull anybody certainly did last week to -- became so. [1:06:19]" Yeah and I think also overall that some people would argue that the patriots -- kind of shut it down on the second having its Miami and they tried some things that maybe they wouldn't normally try. Overall the way that the giants are are going into the game. How they look at it this challenge in particular and do you think that the pre season game that the two teams played against each other has any bearing at all on preparation for this."

[1:06:42]" Not a I think pre season games have no bearing on regular season game especially one that was nowhere the last regular season get ready maybe just. The only reason would be in terms of knowing some personnel little that's -- the teams to play each other basically annually in in the pre season you know the giants are in fact I think they're pretty excited for the challenge you know they were you know the old timers around here remember when the Denver Broncos came in here thirteen you know in 1998 giants beat him and -- that perfect season. And -- idea obviously giants have -- and the pitched his perfect season but. I I do believe and you know coach does want to win the game very much but you know. That the players that have lost in the first round of the playoffs last two years. You know -- they -- in terms of you know staying healthy and and competing in the playoffs and gone further in the playoffs and that's. You know I would think more -- beating the patriots."

[1:07:39]" Sure I know it's only mid week I don't know that the players coming off having some time off for a holiday and such can you give was a bit of an idea who you'd think injury -- might not be able to go."

And Eli -- absolutely cornerback for the foreseeable future you know these people want him cut or traded it just going to have to deal and he's not going anywhere. And I still think Eli Manning is a good quarterback I think he's going to give -- great quarterbacks Sunday you know book has played. -- games -- he has played some or games but I think overall he's good quarterback he's got a pretty good numbers this year and I think -- keep getting better."

[1:09:44]" Finally then I would -- Michael where this team sits five seed in the playoffs going to already opened up on at Tampa Bay -- the opener -- the playoffs and a couple of weeks. What's a reasonable goal is this -- winnable conference for the giants can they get to the Super Bowl."

[1:09:59]" I think absolutely person or horse we're going to plan on the road -- 71 on the road this year. We won seven straight road games on the road a road games on the road be redundant so you know we lost opening night Dallas and and actually lost to Green Bay we feel that you know those -- it is fair and square but we you know we. The players like say elected to match up pretty well -- jobs -- have to the Tampa -- you know was seven -- streak or winning streak to be very confident going to Tampa. And it obviously is of spicy can't say we what to expect it -- all of it. I mean I think if we play as well cable line where's that we can be as good as nineteen."

In in that regard I think that might enable the giants to rest Brandon Jacobs who as the -- ankle. -- you know I think it's entirely possible you'll see the giants starters my best -- estimation here. Will be that you see the giants starter played quarter. Maybe in the second quarter they've still got the football but my guess is that my best guess -- come they come out before halftime. Maybe they'd go half I don't know again it depends on the on the on where the game is the behind or the head. You know they might play a little bit more if there in the game or if their head in the game in my play a little bit less if they've already fallen behind in the game.
