I don't I think it's a little bit more than a theory which are going to get into it a little bit. Which I think. Might explain. A little bit about. Why the game looked like it did it and also. Why Tom Brady may not have played. In the game in didn't even make the trip so it's it's just my theory. But I I'm sticking with it and I'll give it to that in a minute. Related to the injury that he had at the end of last season although it is on the -- foot. However he also is estimated that you know if -- night game was a regular season game he probably would've played. So but you know they just thought that it was the best thing for him not too good now. Let's get it to my theory here. Why didn't Brady make the trip why didn't he play in why did that game look oh so bad why didn't look like Tampa bay."

[4:08]" Was quote unquote taking it seriously and at times the Patriots work. If you listen to bill politics. Interview yesterday I -- you guys well Patriots Monday he mentioned that. Tampa they would blitzing a lot. And it looked like Tampa bay actually scheme for that game in other words spent some time in practice last week. Getting ready for the Patriots. And he said you know if teams want to do that that's fine that's what they feel bad for the team and how they want to go but the pre season game. But he also made it pretty clear that the Patriots did not do that. But the Patriots are going to run there what they want it to get done in the game regardless. Of what the Buccaneers were showing in terms of lit things like that. Now here's my -- Last week most of the camp including the Buccaneers were still open and he went ago. I'm sure the Patriots like other teams have people looking at other team's practice see what that working on. And maybe the word got out. That the Buccaneers were going to really run a real -- heavy. Game against the Patriot okay knowing that. And knowing maybe Brady's not a 100%. In knowing that you're still working on trying to you know get that -- line healthy. In that the guys out there aren't necessarily the guy's going to be starting the season with. Maybe you don't -- Tom Brady in a game like that. With a team that actually -- for you it is going to run a lot of -- maybe you don't put Tom Brady who really you need September 7. In not now maybe you don't risk given a game like that. Just just speculation. On just get -- that might have factored in to why Tom Brady didn't make the trip. And if that's the case might have also factored into why that game look oh god awful. On the side of the Patriots. You know where Cassell -- O'Connell were running for their lives at times because. The Buccaneers -- let you know and it didn't look like. You know usually with the exception of that game we won't mention last year usually the pictures are really good. When it comes time to pick up the split -- like third down or any time the team. You know sends more. Usually the Patriots are ready for that but run a green the dumps a thing out who were running back you -- a quick one over the heads of the on rushing linebackers something that usually they can deal with those types of mismatches in terms of numbers. But it didn't seem like they had any clue what to do on Sunday and I think a lot of that had to do with the Patriots. You know really not taking into consideration. What the Bucs were doing defensively and deciding which is going to run what they're going to run. And you know if you want to call that game planning fine but I think that the Buccaneers. More or less. As far as you can't -- pre season game game plan a little bit more than the page it for that game and I think that's why you know we saw. You know the kind of imbalance in the in the performance now. Having said that I think that it kind that might be a little bit of an excuse for the Patriots offense. It certainly is not excuse for the -- the other pay the -- I think took a step back from week one. In you know in the game when the starters were in there I think the Patriots really."

[7:36]" Allowed. The Buccaneers to nickel and dime -- down the field and you know Harrison was out yup. The daily Thomas was out okay Pierre Woods was it for him. But for the most part. All the three linemen anymore. Wilfork -- they were all in the game Bruschi was next to Mayo. Vrabel. Was in the air now he was a looked a little rusty at first but he was in there. In in the backfield you know you had Fernando Bryant had meriwether. -- had Ellis Hobbs who you know again might have been a little rusty but he was in the air. -- theaters was not so you know that someone who might contribute a little bit more won the season I'd get on it of course Harrison wasn't there but. You know we're talking you know ATP and the starters were there and you know they really didn't look good. Against the Buccaneers team which they didn't have this starting quarterback either I mean. You know -- he was you know could end up being the start of the year -- What -- What's what's the starting quarterback for the -- that forget you know car media Garcia was that not playing that game so they were playing with their back up. And the -- didn't look good on the defense side of the ball so. You know might my theory about the game planning and in keeping Brady out that doesn't hold water when you come in -- talk about the -- even -- that something that the -- is -- shore up. I of Vrabel this to tackle. On that first drive. That he usually does in this one was in the back field. In one would it would stop the play for. You know one or two yards. I'm I'm counting that up from. -- that up -- the fact that this is where I'm relieved that he's a little rough. But what was happening there is the Buccaneers were getting so much for a second down that by the time they get the third down. You know third 13 two very easily converted plays. And that's why the -- couldn't get off the field is because their base defense was incumbent throw. Is that just going to have to shore that up this week this being the third game coming up against the Eagles Friday night. I'm sure the starters will play. If not for all of the first half promote the first half. We'll get a little better indication of what you know what kind of progress they've made all week but it is it is something a concern. Brandon meriwether. Limped off the field. We don't know status of him up but that would be you know somewhat of a lot you know like junior player. Really looked at camp like he stepped things up in a lot more confident a lot what -- where we'll be in the field. That showed in the first pre season game I thought. He was around the ball. -- and pretty hard hit and at this point seen him hurt let's hope that it's not something that's going to drag on like hamstring something like that. Let's hope that it -- that he'll be able come back from in short order but. You know you have to look at that now it's you know -- theaters out well now all of that in Paris and out -- Opposition that was pretty deep. Safety is now little thing. Answered on wage let's played about I think between five and ten -- in the game looked okay I mean as good as he could expect. I mean I wasn't even really expecting to be more than a couple plays. But he was out there made -- tackle kind of you know feeling his way through the system so take a little while before John -- can contribute. And I still wonder if everyone healthy what will his -- beat. You know what Harrison out there. He's not going to be that fast and coverage. He can't play the line up close. -- how are going to have that role. On first and second -- so he'll be. Oh -- probably see what kind of contribution. John we have. This season but -- good to have believe me. Specially now with Sanders and Harrison both out meriwether nicked up. Good to have where it's at now the question how quickly can you heavily -- open to the Patriot defense that he was. Had his nose in the book you know check it out. The playbook so will these smart guy. It won't be a question of can he pick it up it's just how long will take. So a big week of practice where the Patriots this week. Is not open to them -- public. Training camp is over it it did Friday so now you're gonna have to rely on whatever information -- get from the players after practice in the locker room. I don't think -- a -- out to be at the practice like we the media is -- allowed to beat the practice are allowed to be the first fifteen minutes which. Is basically stretching in and unit rules though. That's going to be really hard from the point on to know what's going on -- practice at it as it always says that. In what that's worth it will see what happens but looking forward to the third pre season game. Get Eagles the big one especially with the -- is the first two weeks you know always we as Patriots if we want to see. You know for a second drive touchdown by the often we haven't seen. The defense. You know I mean narrows auto pilot scheme and going on as far as blitzing and stuff like that I mean having an off they blitzed but I mean like it says it was real line development and government through that the front seven pretty good."

I'm not on third down conversions knowing it was only. 25 point 51 -- says yeah so one out of four that's not going to get it done if you're keeping other team on the field for long drives and you're not doing that. It's tough to winning games and Fred was right when he said that the deep and the corners are playing soft to soft -- the first drive of the game and."

[17:33]" That on the third drive you know -- was still in there now. Tampa bay changes up their -- now they go to the intermediate play and they were successful on the house every play -- was 1011. Twenty yards you know so no matter what they did they were kind of hurting the Patriots in -- I'm concerned about that."

[17:51]" At daily thing I can think is you know. It was pre season number two. You know that in the pre season a lot of times teams don't like to give away what they're gonna do so they play of -- to the -- and Vanilla offense and we were even talking about it when you were sitting often different part of the press box but. We were all saying on the first drive there were no -- packages. Well they never pretty much that they pretty much kept the entire -- into that whole drive. So it's not like they were trying to schemer game plan for anything they were just content to just sort of let play out almost a no I think I can sort of play devil's devil's advocate as the saying maybe they just wanted to. You know give their starters. The game experience of getting in for a quarter whatever and not really overdo it but it still concerning when you see another team that's not really decorated team running the ball down their throat thrown it well. You know it is obviously this Friday will be a bigger test regardless of whether Brady plays or not. As the third pre season games always like that so. Does this happen -- they lost the first two pre season games the third when Carolina and it looked like they really were there to play they they came out they scored early Maroney ran the ball well Brady was throwing well. They had a good performance and you know it didn't really matter what happened in the previous two games so you know if they come out against Philly this Friday looking like they did last week against Tampa going to really be concerned. It. No I was actually when when they did Ron especially early -- looked good. Yeah he did there there was one play where he actually gained about ten or eleven and we thought if it cut to the right. He would -- gotten even more and we thought well you know we're nitpicking here now but he actually looked the -- if he wasn't dancing around. That the plays -- he got cut for a loss I don't think we could really put that on him. You know blockers getting through."

[19:36]" That's part of it though I mean what if you're concerned about the running game that necessarily concerned about road you concerned about maybe the offensive line in front of them yes but at that but at that point they were already playing but from behind right. Well yeah but you don't care if you're behind -- you run what you going to run -- you're right but. The way they started the game off. I liked what I saw him I think -- that first drive he looked good."

We're not going to really be able -- what we want to run with him back there. So let's just nobody would have Brady. You know isn't it Billy you know it it seemed like they were blitzing a lot and they were kind of scheming. For the game you know in. You know week when we go to these games we just one run it kind of regardless of what they're showing out there. And I think that at that might have had to do wide Brady in -- so ridiculous why the Patriots did look so terrible well."

[21:27]" You you know what -- think you might be onto something 'cause today in his press conference I don't know if you heard it but bills sort of answered that same type of question about the game planning for the pre season. And he said well you know I think you know I'm -- speak about other teams -- what his theory his approach to pre season is basically let's run the plays we want to play right. Regardless of whether it works tool or for a a strength of the other team's defense right or or offense or vice versa and that. That's different from the regular season when they look at a team's strengths and weaknesses they try to run plays that are geared towards taking advantage of the weaknesses in avoiding the strengths that the other team. In pre season he says we don't really care about that we care about executing our plays that we want to."

[22:08]" I don't know if if you're the Buccaneers and not to say what the Buccaneers it was wrong a bush league or anything like that. They do what they felt they needed to be done to get a team ready and if I'm. If I'm John gruden and I'm playing Tom Brady and I think that he might play -- one -- two series why not. Work my split so. You know against against the quarterback a quarterback in the NFL if we can rattle him if -- work. Okay so weak side -- not -- the give that opportunity to put our quarterback in harm's way."

And then he's starting to look a little bit better and then all of sudden you know you -- interest isn't that really can change his career."

[24:12]" I agree absolutely that that to me that would be a huge loss for the team and for him. -- I hope he's back and yeah no it's -- it's always bad timing to lose a guy for the season and I think you're you're right on match on at this particular point in his development would be in even worse because he's just starting to maybe get into a groove and and -- and it's at a position where they birdied Garrity a little thin to begin with you know right. So yeah an ally but but let's hope that that's accurate with the globe reported because that would be good news for the team -- it would be -- terrible again yeah. Kind of handed off his -- male over the middle they were played zone. -- got beat in the end as -- try to go for the tackle he went up too high and really just gets tipped on to the ground didn't look good rookie mistake. You know. You don't rather go for the big hit. You know after he got the ball to get -- down yeah I think that was the Antonio Bryant Croyle and pass -- crossing pattern pretty at a Bryant. Kind of handed -- got -- two males don't relate to catch and it -- went in high at the start to the ground ended -- you know 33 yard play. I don't look bad that was that was kinda stood out from Mayo is being a negative I think overall though we had a decent game. Yeah I don't think he had quite the eye popping up in that first game against the Ravens but it wasn't a terrible performance that was probably like you said the west stand out everybody remembers that yeah and but but he -- some other good things so he's he's still probably on on a plateau that Crable -- play late in the game you know you have to -- the late in the game play yet ultimately I'd rather -- make them not make that your -- that's that's a positive. What about the Bryant hit a better game. So bad -- I. I'm I'm still not. Yeah happy with what I'm not I'm not you don't make any plays in you know I just think like -- said -- show. I just look at the cushions that they're giving guys in short coverage on the worried about the long coverage. That is what it is -- no. They're in the short concerns. Me because special and thirteenth seed that in all of a sudden -- a second down you pass and a third -- third one. In the -- the rain and the -- that much more though they've got to start making plays on the ball on the early downs."

You know so that's something we're -- he might over think things you know just -- to play quarterback forget about everything to play your man. And you're you're probably as fast and quick as anybody that you common topic so don't worry about getting beat to play quarterback. You know."
