Nothing -- Tom I don't know that you know I -- human negative karma I mean let's let's -- Fact is is that when the Patriots in the Super Bowl it took. Pretty much what was it 59 minutes. In in a few seconds. It took -- of fluke of a miracle play to beat the Patriots though. If you're looking at the -- amount out of your fan of another team. You'll probably just -- what happened because the Patriots got beat. Hi an incredible. Miracle like. David Tyree catch the ball against his helmet I was just it was a -- And you have that happened then you get to the pre season. You're an NFL MVP quarterback doesn't play all pre season. He finds a way to get into the lineup as the regular season opens seven and a half minutes in two. This season he goes down with a season ending knee injury. And so because of an an oh and let's go back a little further. Fact is the Patriots right in the middle of what is being commonly referred to is by getting. This time a year ago getting ready to play the Jets right this is when it happened one year ago."

[10:07]" And so because you got like eight and because you have an excruciating loss. You know the Super Bowl and because you've now lost the reigning NFL MVP for the entire season."

[10:19]" There are Patriots naysayers out there that simply believe this is just karma. That the world is just writing it -- because everything is gone so right for New England that the law of averages. Is just correcting it now it's just catching up to itself. When I heard that I I -- I almost. I almost drove off the road. I can -- why. Maybe a Jets fan would think that I can certainly see why maybe a Buffalo Bills aura or Miami Dolphins fan would say that I can team Y Giants say that even though. I don't know why you load the Giants beat the Patriots. Unfortunately as we all recall. I can see why. Someone who would be a Patriot hater would it just it's just karma you know it is the law of averages catching up you guys. You've had much good happened you won three Super Bowls in seven years and you've been enabled it to to get by without serious problems happening to you than just the law of averages catching up. I happen to believe in the sort of you know goes along what I just got to -- for -- the guys here. Short while ago I sort of -- what that does though it -- socially. Understand what -- 52 players on the football team have done. Over the course the last eleven years. There have been 53 players on the team that have contributed. There's been coaching staff all that the Bill Belichick. That is contributed. Certainly I like you know Scott pioli has contributed. Positively and negatively we get into that another time but -- This is a you know surely I think there's a lot of doom and gloom because bradys the full point in and the quarterback is the focal point. -- any game. On any football. And the quarterback is going to get more than his fair share of praise. As well as the quarterback is always going to get more than his fair share of criticism why the good of football is in his hands. More often that anyone else's on the team. Whether it's right or wrong that is just a byproduct of being a quarterback. There's no doubt that Tom Brady. Is extremely talented we all know what I tell it's not a rocket is that not a news flash. We know that when you're the most valuable player of the National Football League. You are one of the perimeter players in the game that's what you are the -- and when you lose a player of that caliber you're team is going to suffer because of it. No doubt. Whose team is probably I would say a good bet not to break it all off and have record. But for a year ago considering what they did last year. Okay you know what even -- healthy Brady they were a good bet not to break those records because what they did last year was extraordinary. Witness the fact that they hung a -- Out of the stadium. Anybody know this those -- that were here on on the use all this there's a banner in the opposite corner of the stadium from the three Super -- That pays tribute to the sixteen in oh regular season. But frankly I found that what -- all the benefit I thought that was very un Patriot like why. Well because the Patriots. Have all but about championships. And because they didn't win the championship last year after going six you know the regular season. I thought that well. It didn't count. But the fact that the team thought enough. Of what they accomplished last year in the regular season to put the batter up on the opposite end -- they didn't. They they didn't draw attention to -- there was -- on hurling ceremony it was just -- Because of that that tells me that what these guys -- accomplishment last year is significant. And they thought that it merited because nobody L in National Football League history has ever done it. That is a tribute to what this organization has done as a team. As a team. Even though Tom Brady is out there are 52 other guys that are not out. There are fifty to the guys players now. All the players who now each and every one of them are going to put a little bit more weight on their own shoulders including Matt Cassel. And there are all want to try to. You know last year was it so much time talk about the Patriots love to get the proverbial chip on the shoulder right. That they look for negativity. Just -- the concrete create the old chip on the shoulder attitude the us against the rest of the world attitude."

[15:08]" Boy I gotta tell you they have gone overboard with this one. Should put a chip on their shoulder. We can't win without Tom Brady. Think about that for -- at the -- of it. On the shoulder of the New England Patriots. He can't win. Without Tom Brady. They're all saying audience and they're all hang on NFL network."

[15:41]" There all day on sporting news in Sports Illustrated and CNN has not at all other web site and magazines and in portals and every -- you go to radio station this that -- brawl the Patriots are are they cannot and without Tom Brady. You don't think the that's going to just pissed off a couple of guys in that locker room. -- don't think the Patriots you know. Are going to take it as a personal affront. You probably handle this as well as I do or anybody it's actually been in that locker and why because your your patron St. you've been through -- You've heard it you listen to. Pretty soon if these guys keep women you know were all going to pat on the back it's a good job of -- in -- are going to go. It's business as usual BA you around here. Or you congratulating us for simple regular season win over the Jets the Dolphins the bills or whomever why. I mean thank you for the compliment button is not any different than any other day. I thought that was significant. Win the players and coach Belichick were on here yesterday during Patriots Monday. And the questions of the day were consistently asked."

[17:01]" Oh is that somber in the locker room. What what's it like in the locker room. And the universal was pretty much typical Monday. Business as usual typical Monday. Guys going about their business were looking at film reviewing videotape try to get better as a football team typical Monday. And let that prodded. There was -- mention. Tom Brady on because in that locker remember Tom captain Thomas a leader Thomas won the best to his positions early in the NFL right now. He's also one of 53. And that's the way these guys here look at it. One guy is down. It's up to the other 52 to pick him up and picked themselves up. Now. -- may be a few players they'll have to carry more than their fair share of the load. Until a guy like Matt Cassel and you -- get up beat and beat effective quarterback really all you want Matt Cassel to do here. Okay if Romo maligning. That we've all done on Matt Cassel yours truly included here I didn't think he was going to be I didn't think he'd be eight in and -- caliber quarterback like. But in all this is why guys like Bill Belichick Scott pioli in the coaching this is why they make the decision they do and we have the jobs we did. They saw something in him. Even after this horribly that pre season that this team just -- They -- something indium. That indicated you know what he's still our guy. -- much older they decided -- at least for now that doesn't mean that they won't revisit this but for now. The single thanked him. -- camera today. Or Joey Harrington whose name -- come today or Daunte Culpepper and the other guys that might be out there -- any of the agents from some of these players who didn't call yesterday. And they were bought for their client. And the answer is in the not right now I don't think I think we're pretty good good built like. I'll keep your number just in today. Tells me that these guys all along. Have thought. This is -- this is what we want to do. And even after as a does that even after the pre season which was just released as -- a pre season as. I was I was one who thought that may be Cassell would be the one cut. Not Matt Gutierrez who obviously was. I thought the cap might be the one to go that. There might be some serious consideration of bringing in a veteran as a back -- And it didn't happen. Didn't happen that keep Matt Cassel because they still like what they saw and I can't here's a guy that has all the tools now at his disposal. -- make the excuse at all he was played second third team -- Can make that excuse anymore. He's got all of the weapons at his disposal all Matt -- now needs to do. Is just. Play mistake free. Don't turn the ball over don't forced the ball into places where it doesn't need to ago. Don't get the ball ball batted down the line of scrimmage. The accurate. The weapons -- place she got Wes Welker you got Randy Moss. You'll have David Thomas and end Benjamin walk and you'll have those guys. You got your forecast. He got Laurence Maroney. You got. You know anymore -- Frankly that is unfairly taken a lot of flow of the heat for he'll block in -- Tom Brady for the the entry. You know could've been played better sure worked. Man this football okay this is not -- is not table tennis. This is football. Football is a physical violence order out -- jumpers and put it on NFL films. What bull. Is a violent sport you know something along those lines do you have that -- we have I don't."

The Patriots have been very fortunate. Not to have had something like this happen. To a guy like Tom Brady over the last you know several years they've had several injuries which you. Lucky guy but always always the Patriots found a way to remain competitive when he guys have gone down in the past. So I ask you. Patriots fans and non Patriots fans I asked you why is this any different why is Tom Brady's. Injury any. Different I agree he has the ball -- fans. More than anybody else because he's the focal point. You know things to revolve around him but. Can't they all recall if you have -- but if everybody L all pro caliber does that bring the whole team down. A notch and make the team no longer all pro. Just because you got somebody else who -- obvious flashy -- may not be quiet is accurate. Certainly not as experienced Tom Brady. I think by saying that the Patriots are done. You were doing a discredit it disservice to the other 52 guys on the roster. And here's the messages that I would give her to fans of the Jets. And the -- And the Dolphins. And anybody who's on the schedule this year. Please I'm begging you. Disrespect the Patriots pleased respect. Eagle ride ahead because the Patriots are -- And in the in the louder you talk. The are you speak the more raucous -- the more talk shows you go on the more message board is due."

And -- what the Patriots will get beat you they're not going sixteen you know like it did last year. They weren't going to go here's a news flash they weren't what goes you know like last year even -- Brady had stayed -- they weren't going sixteen NL. The team understood the enormity of what they did last year that's what they put instinctive -- up in un Patriot like fashion. Believe it just explain that."

[24:39]" To go to the pre season and it excruciating. To have people that you cheat it excruciating. To have your star player go to MVP quarterback go down with a knee injury it's tough. Maybe it is. And some sort of of a warped way maybe it is just karma -- back around a -- the Patriots in the but. Maybe it is. I prefer to think however though that it's trained. You know gambler and I am sure many of you -- you know have a little fun. What ever elected have fun with. You understand what trends are right. And you try to play to train I mean they -- it will roulette right at the at the a casino. And the ball -- Roland in to black. You gonna do. You're gonna put your chips down I'm black ranked. Well that's what happens here it's a trend. Maybe the Patriots are trending somewhat negatively. That's a possibility. I'll allow for that but I will allow for no more than. Trends also don't last forever just like the Patriots good times. They kept our role and for a while right well you know what. That doesn't last forever. Nor -- the bad times last forever."

Is that you know it's trending negatively right now that's fine it's still up to the other 52 guys and his team. To go back in the other direction and they have the power what to do. If you don't make mistakes. If you just quarterback the team literally the term and the position quarterback is a manager. Today you manage things don't you have to be necessarily flashy good although if you are -- good that's what makes you an MVP. But he managed things to where your team operate efficiently around you that's what Matt Cassel was he was being manager. He must be an efficient manager. And he can do that and the Patriots. Believe that he is that person as we've already stated here they believe. Otherwise they would have made it changed or they would have brought somebody in the full year. They believe he can manage this team. Well enough to where this team deal playoff caliber. I personally believe this he was left Albert now. I'll tell you what I thought this team was going to do I thought this team will probably be thirteen in three maybe fourteen into this year prior to the injury. -- because -- that the schedule was weaker and it is. It's weaker than it was lectures not a strong a rusher although. In all the back and forth go to the west coast this year I what would probably drag them down at some point by the time we get to Oakland. On December 14 I figure that that might wear on them a little bit because you're going to be doing a lot of backing and support your. So I thought well Kayla they would split -- thirteen and three this season. That was before Brady. Now after he's gone down college just that by. Three or four I'm still a -- That there there's you know reporting -- the Tom Brady by himself could win. Or certainly through his talent could enable his team to win. And again. I'm not given that -- credit here and I and I'd like to. We don't know yet. Even if becomes there was one game doesn't come through two others that still one more win that we would give him credit for following -- man I'm actually ten and six. I think that's a reasonable expectation based on the overall. Talent of the other 52 on this team. And -- probably. Probably who have been in the hunt for the division title in my guess is that's going to be a bit of a rallying cry with these guys in the locker. As I said the chip on the shoulder has already arrived and now it will grow to boulder sized proportions. Once you in the rest of the national media starts a off -- Dolan. Hailed the Jets hailed a built -- the Dolphins. -- No. That boulder get bigger and they're gonna it's gonna be I mean I'm telling you that is. That is the chip on the shoulder that this team looks for every year. Conflict between. I don't think really good. Well. They're going to use that that will be the rallying cry that this team will be competitive I don't know if they'll get an opening round I in the playoffs like it was a pretty much foregone conclusion. Prior to the entry but now after the injury you know -- it still have them in the product they with a division title on eleven of why would still get it done. On the -- when the age of east if you can tell me that the team eleven wins. So I want you to be totally honest with me today. I think this is going to be a tough a tough spot for -- but the but the point is. He could still struggle -- the could -- in the game. -- I think I think it would be disappointment lose however I think this is a beautiful game of any."

And whatnot during all the snaps with the first team and it's true they'll definitely be getting more snaps. And rep I'm making the assumption that Brady was taking most of the they're the ones in practice during the pre season. I'm worried but I think they will still be a playoff team."

[1:29:49]" Yeah well you know what an answer to that Brady had a first team snaps certainly as long as Brady was at practice. Weather beat you know last week during the pre season or past years if Brady was there he's getting the snaps with the first team. Do they mix it up a little bit off and give Cassel or whoever the backup is some opportunities with the first team. Probably because you want to be -- more prepared but I think between the practice is that Brady missed this training camp. The amount of in game work that. Matt Cassel got with the first team and what will happen this week. I don't think is going to be a situation where it's Matt Cassell getting acquainted with Randy Moss Matt Cassel -- equate you Wes Welker. I think. Cassell right knows the guys on offense and his team as well as any backup quarterback but."

[1:30:32]" I really do. -- in New Jersey is the other Jets opened up at three their point favorites they're now two and a half points were the money already sliding on the Patriots out of it. I think they -- get a backup quarterback not inequity -- Then it's very much could be neck -- job to lose in other words don't forget guided the try to get up the beat. But even if that guy -- lights out of practice -- knack counsel's job until Matt Cassel proves that he can't do absolutely and that won't bring the quarterback until they come to that realization. That they won't which is why the whole thing but the rumors yesterday right ever transpired and doesn't interest in. Through that you get all these reports that Christensen timber they're coming it and until -- a check at a press conference that those guys. What if he does extremely well. Franchise that you could placed on him on you think about what would put the Browns it would Derek -- time for -- more -- there's a few possibly don't worry about it -- If Tom -- healthy Tom Brady's starting quarterback in 2000 -- we have to worry about that. I hope your right. It would be an interesting thing to think about and as far as you know the timing of an injury. If if this was going to happen. On you know this happened in December you'd be thinking he'd be cutting it close as far as his rehab to -- tacked -- for training camp. At this stage given there's ten months until training camp begins. It for 2009 he you know you can sort of I'd go to an -- at -- at a smooth -- in his rehab. On the -- hopefully they'll be ready to go right."

He got hit and and and that was the guys you know that was the outcome I don't think I don't think -- offseason. Much rule and athletic those are those reports are there any never."
