I did not put an exclamation point. On the end of Hall of Fame weekend but tech and I meet during the game and said it's a good thing the hall is now open that we can remember we were good football. I proceeded to reply to him and on the he was the -- of the Patriots and as that end medium tickled but. I know most fans are not like he is -- we expect him mostly down at the hall again I think you gotta love it. Had great feedback on that your film which is I think one of the highlight. All of the of the hall -- fifteen minute film detailing. Not just. I'm in Patriots history and all the near miss culminating. With the championship in 2001. But all of connecting the fan and the region to the football team. And then. It in writing film I think that kind of thing that brings chills. The feedback been great with had fans applauding in the theater at a conclusion. And then there are -- number other. Things that and have have really enjoyed. That type green in the technology I think that. I think people are fascinated by the -- out we'd love going down there on the second level kicking field goals. From 45 yards and two point three yards. The game tying game winning kicks. In noble. Back in 2002. The interactive they been very popular as well though. It is bad and I think people have had a lot of fun down there and organic having been down. Come down -- it might -- price ten dollars for adults. Seven dollars seniors and -- 95 dollars for kids if you under five is free and you know it it it is a great. Value. I think for your money. And I can it come on down. As a player who retired in 1994. But. I think the players clearly lot of the Patriots probably needed it. As badly as anybody despite the fact that it's only -- war of the -- only for the season. [7:22]" He he's one and one daughter and one can regain Tom Brady went out so early. So you had. Cassell and after that. I beat Brett Favre and the jet."

With a much more with the car has a lot more pressure on him now. That being in and be productive. We go back to of one Tom Brady came on to a team that you want to the field when it was only do."

[8:12]" On coming off of five and eleven season. Expectations were virtually nil. And he was not expected comedians. And could see some sort of dominant that it and in place. On Matt Cassel and completely different situation. Having not started a game high school."

[8:31]" And being thrown into being thrust into the starting job I've seen -- went eighteen and analyze -- eighteen and one."

[8:39]" And court I -- in my point oh it's a tough situation expectations very different the pressure is very different and we're going to almanac -- I think the bye week as I mentioned."

[8:53]" Top Cubs are very good time to give him a couple weeks -- as the daughter. I actually last week with no gain to prepare for this week they will be working to go last week luxury had a chance to work a lot of different things. Having one key is going to be. Being able to throw the ball down the field and make big plays a rainy mosque and crossed the loss to make some plays. I think -- a little bit of frustration in the Miami game from rainy -- And we didn't last year adding that a brush he was -- with currently before he arrived here in New England. But playing with Tom Brady we never witnessed anything like that you -- play in the Miami game where he kind of pulled his arms down a ball that. Then could've been at -- because. Why he did do that. It was kind of -- on -- but that being said he was going to get -- on the plane and I think. He can get easily frustrated by situationally. He -- that in the period quarterback and therefore is able to. Performed the way he wants to perform and be in situations that he want to be. I'll be very tough for him to handle we on Oakland. Much more -- an obvious that we did in in -- when he was that the Vikings. And I think there's going to be times when Matt Cassel is going to have to -- trust Randy Moss can make up like. Certainly Daunte Culpepper in Minnesota. Did that money when he threw the ball and let Moscow getting. Tom Brady did a couple times last year. Heck in the Miami game down in Miami last year he Kubel and only Randy Moss was essentially double covered and loss came down -- There are times when he's going to have to let his guys make plays for him."

[10:46]" That the problem I think we're seeing with the offense and the stagnation of the off to a certain degree granted again it's only event I haven't scored twenty point. It's things like not to making your reads and being on the same page is -- but it. I can't -- where -- coming from identifying. Blitz situation. And being able to -- communicate with what you were."

You know what you never mil. What's going to be popular and what's not going to be popular and what you think is obvious and and what. The public. Think not obvious or they tell you what actions were not obvious that it in the first week plus and a great learning experience. For our -- at the hall at Patriot place and it -- yeah but. Really do get involved that they want to compete they want to have on that. And the -- well obviously in the kids and that's killed there in groups. And they love that -- hobbled with the the 2007 high school Super Bowl champion jerseys on the wall from all over New England. And you know they -- here in the early going and they were cited. About injuries up on the wall. And hopeful that there would be out there and and eight I think it another element of the hall that connect to the community. And -- high school. And kids. In the drive for not only will you get to play at Gillette Stadium if you're in east and that is capable. He'll have the opportunity. To have your Jersey hanging on the wall of champions within the hole and be part of an edit. [29:50]" And I called the kids of my head. Your dad will have this in four years. Because I have absolutely. No doubt in my mind that Troy Brown will be able landslide winner among fan voting. In four years when he becomes eligible to be inducted into the hall pay you play it by Raytheon. It -- again it was a remarkable career. For Troy Brown he's the all time leading with exceptions leader in Patriots history with. When you think back too early in his career when he was more -- relates -- special teams player. That makes that record even more remarkable. If -- go back in 1993. His rookie season. And look at catches. Two for 22 yard as a rookie."

[30:41]" During a pennant playoff season. Troy Brown did not record -- fact maybe he would he apparently played a couple games that season."

[30:55]" Fourteen catches for a 159 yards. No touchdowns. Through the first three years -- his career. God had been up. Ninety. Troy Brown started to emerge but very little I think that when people remember a guy his her great moment in a Patriots uniform perhaps. As Erick --"

Trailed 22 to nothing and rally to win 2322. He's me thanks in part. That catch by Troy Brown. 97 under Pete Carroll. Started to emerge a little bit more 41 Texas a 107 yard. Touchdown. So. You saw him become a regular part of the offense. -- scored his first cut down as a receiver that season he was the third leading receiver behind Ben Coates."

[32:12]" And Shawn Jefferson Terry Glenn spent much of that he's -- on the sideline with injuries."

[32:17]" But he packed -- Brees be on the depth chart. And really became the slot or Seaver."

[32:23]" On the offense and got significant playing time when England went out of the lineup and he became a starter. And then it just emerged from in 98."

[32:34]" 23 -- not a great season with Terry Glenn back in the -- I think Pete Carroll has kept. You know. Going with the guys that he thought had this huge big play ability. Guys -- guys like Brian lights on -- him it's like Troy Brown always had to. Somebody. That he can do he always no matter what he did on the field matter how many plays he made there was always some doubt because he didn't have the measurable. And when you commit to a guy like that. When you're drafting first round pick signing treated the play that position as a coach. You know. And certainly Pete Carroll. Maybe feel the most job security. As things sort of spiraled downward for him."

[33:23]" I think maybe natural for him and I am going to go with the guys that I think management wants me to go with."

[33:30]" And Troy Brown isn't a major player. But certainly Troy Brown was being held back and it wasn't really until Bill Belichick arrived that Troy Brown emerged -- out. 83 were at 944. Yards 2001. A franchise record 101 --"

[33:50]" 1200 yards five touchdowns."

[33:53]" 2002. 97 -- 809 EI mean he just put together an amazing in 1983. He dropped down to forty catches during a fourteen and two season but that was because the Patriots were such a diverse offense. Deion Branch of the Evan led the team -- all 48 Troy Brown forty Daniel Graham 38 David Givens 34 Christian Fauria twenty."

[34:19]" Larry managed nineteen Bethel Johnson Eckstein and talk with fourteen. And that's 12345. Out of 89 players in double digit that oh. As the team improved. Troy wasn't relied upon as heavily but still make great plays and that I believe what he's been down in Miami."

[34:44]" Against the Dolphins nineteen to thirteen."

[34:46]" When Troy made an 82 yard. We're up in in overtime to win that football game in the long reception of his career and played many people around this building. Certainly talk about and a player that is. Forever remembered in the hall at Patriot plays we actually have. In one of the intro panels to an exhibit. The the in the moment exhibit. We have Troy Brown and molded. Catching a football nickel plated him. And there's a graphic at that Joe Torre making the catch in the Miami team to win that football game is a quote from trial on the panel on all. Well I'm really glad now. That Troy got come through in the a lot of that stuff and it it's a tremendous plan."

[35:34]" A player like that emerges the way he did and it really a sad day win."

[35:40]" He walked away I'm I'm glad that he turned down another opportunity in his career. And remained a Patriot for his entire career you know that a couple of years ago he hit -- he had a change goes on with New Orleans for more money."

[35:58]" This is home he felt maybe there was more marketing opportunities here in New England that he would be just another guy in the world."

[38:00]" We would that right here -- here and look at the schedule and they strength or weakness of that schedule based on the previous season is."

[38:07]" Foolish and we should go back. Okay that being said he also don't know who's going to get hurt from year to year. You know. I'm sure people look at their schedule until the Miami Dolphins looked at their schedule the fans before the season started and chalked up week three as a law. They're coming to -- broke the Patriot killed them last year Tom Brady the best quarterback in the league this was the most prolific offense in the league they were eighteen and one a year ago. They are going to kill us actually when Miami goes up in New England -- and you haven't been pounded in Arizona by the Cardinals. I mean they had no reason to expect that their team come appear before the start he's at and win this game well what Tom Brady's start. They change. Going to look at strength of schedule -- or lack thereof is -- now. The Patriots go out and go this weekend. It's -- west coast road trip. I believe -- leaving for the game on Friday which today earlier than they typically do and I can tell you that football teams and players are. And -- for them to go out Friday. This and of their routine they will then spend an entire week on the west coast. Because they have back to back games on the west coast after playing at -- and Diego where they'll play the Chargers. Now have they spent a week away preparing for game before. Absolutely fortunately they have a number of guys that -- of bubbles on the roster. You know as as recently as last and that have gone on the road for a week to prepare for a game. But you gotta be playing a tough Chargers team that he's revenge minded after you eight. -- beat the daylights out of them last year during the regular season early on. Beat knocked them out of the playoffs last year with their Super Bowl berth on the line he knocked him out of the playoff at. -- the year before when you -- Victory from the jaws of defeat thank you none other than the aforementioned. Troy Brown. Who. Strict I'm Marlon McCree after an exception in a game we all remember a doubt the Patriots advance to the AFC championship game in 2006 in the Indianapolis -- Oh we never know and for the Patriots -- going out have a go right now struggling on offense. I'm struggling ninety -- or at least coming -- the game which they were terrible on the fan for one week. And I played very well against Brett Favre and Jack. You'd never know from week to week you never know who's going to play better on Sunday. You know I had a friend say to me that last week law in the Dolphins would have resounding impact but it was a sign of things that come."

[41:03]" It's I -- it doesn't work. Every week is different from the week before. And I think you have to do is look around. The league and -- did anyone think the Kansas City Chiefs could beat the Denver Broncos nevermind by two. I mean that's even young inexperienced. And not very good employee the -- that looked good they beat the charges."

[41:31]" They were what 23 you know go to a game."

[41:34]" And yet."

[41:35]" The Kansas -- he pop by to talk to you never know from week to week. What. Will guys come to play with the same level intensity you know I think that should be a no brainer we even think. On -- on the radio only play one game we come right up like. But for some reason human nature being what it is maybe. Guys don't always have on a day that's the only thing I can pick up for that Miami game he had a performance that our guys that didn't happen."

[42:07]" It was a bad performance I have to suck it up at otherwise."

[42:11]" You know you have to agree that maybe. It is a sign of things that -- I don't happen to believe that. I think that you've had a couple of good defense games and one really bad defense game if it becomes a trend. Obviously then it is what it is. I don't think that it will become -- ran the Patriots will play better defensively this -- you have to go but that doesn't guarantee anything mean they."

[42:36]" Have to put points on the board that the move the ball I catch on the ball over and put that defense in difficult. That's going to be critical moments don't put -- dependant on a short field you don't have that -- the quarterback the proven quarterback that can lead comebacks are now. Maybe ten. But not he hasn't yet he hasn't had. An opportunity maybe to lead a league -- come back. Last week the game sort it was over in the fourth quarter."

[43:06]" We don't know if an unknown whether Metcalf and yeah."

[43:10]" a little more pressure on the defense played better and a little more important on the offense and the quarterback to take care of the football. Made it to the game well and not what you -- an awkward position. That has to be their formula for us right now and -- Matt Cassel start to develop a little bit or until."

[43:28]" Bill Belichick -- OK maybe backed -- not the guy."

[43:33]" I don't think that that's going to happen Matt Cassel quarterback the team for the rest and I think he will continue to improve. I think bill ballots are probably feel as a firm grasp of the offense."

[43:45]" I'm being able to do on the practice field and being able to carry that over -- game and help your team wins football games and let me you know we always talk about. It being a team team and certainly it is and you with a team you lose the team. But the number ones out of the quarterback do we -- to manage your game and went and people always say that the quarterback much credit and too much blame. I don't LEI agree with why do agree that team sport and that I don't care how would you quarterback is if that's all you have. You're not going to win a championship you're not going to win in the playoffs when the going gets tough you may get the playoff with a great quarterback sub par. Supporting cast. You can argue that they have done that in the past and Tom Brady. You not going to get very far with it on. Dole. You know I think that the whole. Element of the quarterback getting on the plane and -- much credit. He -- A -- at his job to lead the offense put points on the board when you think about the fact that maybe offense has."

[45:01]" Five snapped and the gain was used that number and an average. The quarterback has the ball in his hands. Five times game."

[45:10]" The -- he they wouldn't have a bigger impact on the outcome of those game than anybody else on the field than any other in the mean on the football. And that -- where he throws the football on a given play that ball handling that -- two -- Managing to. Going which way to turn on hand --"

[45:32]" You know have a grasp of the action. It all of those elements and -- The quarterback does in fact have the most dramatic impact on a game and now why Matt Cassel they."

[45:48]" navy. -- walk on air -- at this point because taking over team that people think does have. Supporting cast now I think the Patriots -- to perform much much much better than what we saw again the Miami Dolphins week and a half ago."

[46:07]" But that being said I think last years the fans wouldn't -- over rated. In that it benefited greatly from a prolific offense the that a lot of points on the board and and didn't put a lot of pressure on the decent."

[46:21]" The Patriots need great play from their front seven. And their front three they need -- Wilfork. And Ty Warren. And Richard Seymour to be impact. Players in Detroit. They need their linebackers to play well. You know people talk about each of -- the fans and really not that old. You know at any worse he is getting up there in football you Mike Vrabel up there and football a year and Rodney Harris up their football -- Is -- or even thirty yet. It feels he's thirty this year. And me and he'd be the the -- the next oldest guy on the unit among the regulars we -- I mean Ty Warren not not old. Vince Wilfork not old. The corner having -- O'Neal now starting corner has has been around the block a few times but."

[47:14]" Ellis Hobbs not -- It's not really that all the different you've got to rookies starting now at linebacker and he's."

[47:23]" Learning on the line taking -- now which won't be thirty until a year from next week. So he's 29 years old next week to when he right now I mean is not a -- and that his that old and he'll."

[47:37]" That -- is that it's a little bit inaccurate now of the impact. Is that we've seen over the years."

[47:43]" Maybe a little bit long in the and that certainly would have an impact Bruschi Vrabel -- in."

[47:50]" Getting a little bit long in the tooth that Ed Vrabel coming optimal would have -- season."

[47:55]" Tedy Bruschi was a guy that earlier in his career just made big play after big play. I think right now he's. Fallen off a little bit to become a daddy. And then. Good tackling. Filled a gap know your role played disciplined play within the scheme of the defense linebacker. Hasn't made the amount of big plays. We saw from him early in his career and another guy that compares favorably to Troy Brown by the way a guy who. Nady was on this guy maybe who had faced in doubt as to whether. He could -- only -- in this league but the impact player in the league. And Tedy Bruschi emerged as doc has not read his retirement yet."

[48:41]" But."

[48:41]" A guy that bill is a good -- and tackler but we do miss over the big plays that he became known for. Great hands you know grader reading the quarterback. Went through and help that is obviously on the stroke among the top among that was."

[48:59]" And who don't know whether that had any impact and career."

[49:03]" But he that'll tough as -- linebacker who fill that -- in the 34 defense. And does it well hopefully. Guys like male. Learn from guys like Teddy Bruschi and they can pack down and knowledge to the young players the Patriots don't need him more youth at linebacker. And the more talent at corner and I think they can do that. And continue to build. They can keep -- that that remains count it. That does well in the cycle. Michael kind of way where it never offer a major drop off. In a cup when drafting at the end of the first round every year like the Patriots have until this year when at a high draft pick. Virtues by virtue of the trade with the -- before. Though. New England. Have to go this Sunday in an effort go. Again want to take my hat off before we go Troy Brown and -- pro football Hall of Fame Andre Tippett he got a had a good enough today. I I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
