I thought that the backs ran well yesterday and the line blocked well we had you know that thought they run the ball and that was that was entered all the way around. In yesterday's game was going to be -- scored two touchdowns from inside the five yard line. And I don't think that probably what anybody would have envisioned. Happening in the game but that's -- it turned out though. You know you never really know how all how those opportunities are going to come up or other situations are going to break or. You know what what personnel grouping will be happen to have them there and in certain situations though. It's really more of you know players being ready and and being able. Capitalize and take advantage of the opportunities they get it and and overall ability to execute offensively. In different different situations they'd be just never know which one -- one of those are going to come up just try to prepare for a minute and then execute them one."

Yeah I think -- has done a good job for us and I think he's he's a good back and you know he's he's played well I think he'll continue to play well there are important. They'll what were you pleased with the way that the -- that the staff and the players were. Sixteen and no regular season team this is not anywhere near Leicester team that each week is going to be an adventure unto itself this year. And yet you've got many of the -- piece of the puzzle in place. As you have lectures -- so. Realizing that this is going to be a little bit different if you have come to that realization. Were you happy with the outcome. Are you one of those that is always happy with a win. Or. As we normally do on Tuesdays we play nitpick Tuesday -- instead Patriots playbook. What do you nitpicking. What did you not. You know I'll give you a nit pick an -- TV a couple of good things in my. Observation of -- of -- game and I hope that you will share as well in addition to plain and simple. Were you happy with the outcome were you surprised with the outcome on on. Mean look at it somewhat analytically. With your football mind if you want to but as a fan. Was it was that a building block wasn't stepping stone to the rest of the year. I can't look at it like war. -- it was the first day of the rest of the season and I know that -- a cliche but it really was in a lot of it gave the team first of all couple weeks it too -- usually miserable performance against Miami -- that the first number one. Our number two. I think a lot of times when you coming off of an adverse situation like that. You realize. That. You know sometimes it is a delicate -- investors a little bit. That you you'd get more charged up the next time you're ready to go out and perform. A lot of guys probably good thing for the team to be honest -- had had I think the best thing that happened. In the awfully is that they had a chance it do over a team that beat the crud out. And take Miami for Miami in the last two games. Beat. Defeated the two teams in last year's AFC champ which they beat the Patriots and of course this past Sunday they beat San Diego in Miami. What is it about the NFL. What does it say about the parity in the league what does -- say about you know this season what does it in general about football. Professional football. There's a lot of things that thank. I'm not the least of which that there's a very fine line between the teams that win and win consistently and that teams. That don't. And it's a much finer line than you really realize it. -- of the teams that play with a mental edge. The teams that come in prepared and you know having done their homework in the proper scouting in the training during the week the teams that come in -- added to the team that come in with. Emotion and energy. Into any given week those of the teams that are going to succeed more than not and the Patriots have been able to do this is why we've. Talk -- much. About this Patriots team having that chip on the shoulder and having an edge anything they can do to gain a mental edge all of their opponent why because the talent is so spread. If so even Miami is living walking talking pro of that right now. Because we know the Patriots in the -- that -- certainly not much work that where they were last year. A couple of exceptions here and there obviously. But overall. Are they were really that much worse and the teams that play in the AFC championship game. Against each other last year I don't think I don't hit. You've got to have that edge every week and because of that I think have in the all week that laws helped give the Patriots and it. It was a it was better for this team to get the crud beat out of them by Miami then to lose a close game. No doubt in my and that's that the first observation. That I had in retrospect after the win over Sampras -- on. My my first thought was I'm actually glad they cut -- beat out. Because I think improbable gave them a chance self evaluate had they lost a close game. I'm sure they would chalked it up a lot of it could have legitimately talked it up to at -- things happen. It's a fluke at a match they would have taken seriously. But the fact that Miami does -- them over the head with a 2 or basically caused them hey you know what something wrong here we need to do little looking into the were. And I think the Patriots that first step back by looking into the mirror. And then realizing that you know what. These teams that we play. They're not that far away from where we. -- that was the first realization and I think it actually took pretty much the entire first quarter. Against San Francisco on Sunday for this team to really realize that because as we almost never would jumped out. To a fourteen to seven late. For the Patriots rallied for ten points and had 1714 lead at halftime. It took -- most of the first quarter and into the second quarter before they realize you know what. It averaged one little emotional little energy little enthusiasm the three -- right emotion energy enthusiasm. And when they started doing that and let's at a four E in the age. Maybe that sort of -- is already -- to you via. Edgerrin James now. Although we'll see him later in the year. And they just they simply. Played with the edge which all that starting before halftime we saw that the much of the third quarter they all and had a game plan beautifully. Ball control. -- in good ball control like that in quite some time and that was the key of the game. So while I thought the ball control and the fact that all things just kept it away from San Francisco. For most of the afternoon starting in the second quarter that was a huge -- number one. To success. That was number one. Now we're going to nitpick while we you know. Wash one hand and then take away with the that we nitpick. I have to admit that even though the Patriots running back by committee seemed to work pretty well the end result was a 144 -- the ground on Sunday. Where's my man Laurence Maroney. Ten carries 26 yards. Tony kids from. I'd just I don't think he's the backed the debate that is going to be. Now don't think. Don't think he's the guy. -- hopefully -- LaMont Jordan. Healthy anymore and certainly healthy Kevin Kevin Faulk and help pick up the slack but unfortunately I don't think Maroney is the guy and I think the Patriots. Grudgingly are beginning to realize that."

I certainly didn't think that I've seen on the road west coat was going to be the game when they saw all of their problems but nobody wants. Is going to be strong this you know I figured out Miami would be at Oakland that's -- teams that are sort of superior. I just think it's it's the speed of typical situation that they -- to shore up that would be that might be the number one thing in my mind. That they've got to do Tom and you don't that the one and it it was an interest -- one of those statistical you know conundrum because. At a very low yards per carry average spot. The -- they held the ball all the time especially in that game was just extraordinary and you know you noting that they only average 33 and half yards or even if that. They were able that it that the move the ball but not. To -- it just goes off at the arms off the field but but it can it get that yard carry average not pop a little more one -- places are different. And dot com -- whether it's Milwaukee or there it opened it accurate odd games each game there it would mean an actor and not out of Boris Jordan walked in Maloney which is really all they ever talk about it and they'll -- which -- it is what it as a yeah we we get one games were away. Perhaps evaluation I'm Laurence Maroney was not as accurate as we hoped it would be even look at it. Anyway -- really want to the other thing don't let you -- the play of the secondary because quite frankly haven't we -- that the secondary is still going to have problems. And if we don't get you know if if if this team does not receive an efficient a pass rush up front. It is going to terribly exposed.
