Play from 0:44[0:44]" Not a whole Andre Tippett easier after one week hiatus."

Play from 0:48[0:48]" Celebrate a holiday."

Play from 0:50[0:50]" I'm Bryan Morry web radio a Patriots dot com if you want to and you emails to Andre Tippett pro football hall of Famer Patriots hall of Famer. And tipped before it came down I was doing the crossover with John rock. And you know talk -- Laurence Maroney in a threat like -- today. And if you go at the hall by the way there is a vertical leap Italy content of the article to launch into the game before I talk about. The Patriots running back."

Play from 1:17[1:17]" A lot of."

Play from 1:19[1:19]" I guess I'll call this week about Maroney. And it -- step out of bounds out of place. -- in last game in effort to go one yards short. Of the first down marker on not something I've seen from Maroney in the past typically. I'm curious to know. If you'd think. He might be running with a lack of confidence. Nursing an injury. The question now -- achieve that though and and try to ask -- that -- well."

Play from 1:53[1:53]" You can never. Didn't have -- mind. You can always make as we go with being Q what you eat and be. Well I'll I'll put it like this I can remember Raymond berry. And practices in training camp preparing things and we. Always hear it to receivers and running -- Knowing your journey is over. Now. With that being -- you know alms. You know we'd do it they're different things which means different things differently than most people believe what you're going to see what you're sitting back. Would monitor front you'd. You can proceeded to be one thing but when you're in the -- of things you know battle of the game. It could be totally different what -- so I'll. I don't know but I exist in that. At some point already bags they know when they can go to -- you. Don't -- tough but now. You know young running -- he still developing who's who's loses. His mentality but it game how to play game and you know you. I still think he's suffering."

Play from 3:07[3:07]" And the only reason I ask -- was because I don't think that's typical of him you know his durability is being questioned because he's got nicked up any of -- three he's here but."

Play from 3:17[3:17]" I think."

Play from 3:18[3:18]" You know we are what I think Laurence Maroney can be at the end of last season. What is it big time back and he was a good. Strong. Explosive runner at the end of last season."

Play from 3:31[3:31]" You know down the stretch into the playoffs."

Play from 3:33[3:33]" And I thought that was finally okay now -- get a real look at this guy he must be healthy he's running hard. He certainly can be a home run guy he's shown the ability to explode."

Play from 3:44[3:44]" On so it was -- it it what it was atypical of what I think I've seen from him an an an as as a that the John rock."

Play from 3:51[3:51]" Where we've heard about the drilled they did Minnesota winning never ran out of town don't like this guy came up with some kind of mentality is up right that's why -- was."

Play from 4:00[4:00]" Alarming to me and as as a -- I don't usually react. That tip off. Mom."

Play from 4:06[4:06]" You know because I'm not there I am not heated battle but it was like. Why did he do that it was talking that's all."

Play from 4:13[4:13]" Nadal plays -- you know. It could be a lot of things that could be all of those things do you. You know could be here. Are you his body that. And they don't from pre season you know thing about football. You get injured usually play and probably nine times and players planned. And have some type of injury. Bother him and will continue to bother them bother them into the season's over with so. Yes I mean he probably at that point you know wait to argue that it -- it -- step out our."

Play from 4:53[4:53]" And let me ask you this then as a defender. As -- linebacker Hall of Fame linebacker. To get Laurence Maroney that it is inevitable that that's talk about but when a guy. Does that you said yes that you don't want to you don't try again I have certainly on the field you're trying to get the players have so when a guy does that. Do you feel like -- a mental let down after that."

Play from 5:17[5:17]" I mean you'll you'll -- I mean you know right away. Like Batman. At one point he's going to be the block and rushing. Challenges from that standpoint. -- open and I did. -- career. And block for the quarter. Block -- Who -- block -- Yeah I'd definitely rule find out you know what -- what -- how -- didn't -- during the game. We do we do get any try to get and it's -- probably was being such as. She's such as. It looked like he wants it and there and a particular block you okay. Oh look at him laugh action back they'll come and again you know. Which right. Reaction -- did you. Keep."

Play from 6:14[6:14]" Now that said Matt Cassel out rebounded from a tough performance in Miami Dolphins. You know overcame an early to have in it. He was hit I was trying to throw the ball down field. And really managed the game well and put some points on the board what you think overall of his performance."

Play from 6:32[6:32]" I thought it was great. Confidence boost for them. Not that he needs is confidence boosted it that this -- that it was time because he has a very confident quarterback he's very capable quarterback. And a exit it was nice seeing him hook up. With who probably will become his bread and butter. For the remainder of season and you know it probably. Joe lenient. And you know just the confidence to give back corner of winning ways and and doing things quarterback. You do in -- to lead the team so. I thought his performance was was was it and you know -- in for most football players so you. You know there's always room for improvement so I'm only -- he knows that he knew better you know and probably -- different. Opportunities that he probably miss that we'll never know about what he knows he's missed he's going to be looking there. -- of those missed opportunities and do some things are you listening to in."

Play from 7:34[7:34]" hall of pro football hall of Famer Andre Tippett went radio Patriots dot com email address it like the far off the question to Andre. Tip. When you have a young quarterback like you mentioned that he is a confident guy. Clearly. You know -- that has come with. Ultimately. You can because they don't want -- out -- perform or it would be easy for that -- when you have a guy like Randy Moss who."

Play from 8:01[8:01]" In his --"

Play from 8:04[8:04]" Has been an indignant at times on teams that maybe didn't have the type of quarterback that he felt could make the most of his ability. Clearly last year he. Dealt with Tom Brady. The orient the Boston Globe today about him about mad -- him out hitting him down having that with him the two talked watch film together."

Play from 8:25[8:25]" I'm curious to know when you have a guy like that you call them the guy who will be his bread and butter."

Play from 8:32[8:32]" Is it hard. To not. Forced the ball home and maybe the example that people could point to the in New York with the Giants when Jeremy Shockey was there and constantly calling for the ball. And some people believe that that actually. On did Manning's development because he was trying to -- guy out -- five this guy who was the great tight end. Everybody knows how talented Randy -- You have to be careful about to manage that situation about forcing the ball home. And it came time going three progression and -- to feel waiting on and get frustrated that you do. That. Or is a result like that I was I don't -- everybody has opened. -- I think --"

Play from 9:20[9:20]" Part of the building. A thing -- couldn't use in building something. And it is an okay -- Matt. Scioscia the builders and with Kenyon and what -- Obviously. Occurrences and one and by about what we think it's one that was thank him. -- would -- mad and gonna make it worse and there's. No matter what. All of his success. In football and always. Revert back to eleven indeed for eleven on offers special teams all human and you know warm. And Martin moved on capsules parked. -- time. Because football is about building relationship. Really through years about. I have to know you have to expect. No. Soon work with you practice with you. At some point break bread with you know you have to. Have those relationships with these arms. We all -- together we do things together and you know you build confidence you know that. And and I can depend on you and you're going to be -- it's going to be around so. You mean that you need to know as does all that is is building relationships. With players. And and with a guy like Matt Cassel who. Hadn't got a game in high school before."

Play from 11:03[11:03]" Starting week two. Against who who. -- You know do you feel like how much deep teammate. Maybe -- Like you know one of the things that Tom Brady and I want to compare them and I'm not trying to compare them and I think it's ridiculous. But. In 2001. Brady got a lot of reps with the first offense during the pre season and played well. And funny Pete Brock. And in the video. Richard film at the hall. When Tom Brady comes into that game against the Jets for his first NFL. -- NFL appearance as the backup quarterback human garbage time as a rookie something like that but. Pete Brock was doing the game with Gil Santos on the radio -- well. Tom Brady showed a lot of poise in the three -- carries over to the regular season. Well we all know I carried over and I think there was and there that when Tom Brady at the huddle. People sort of already had a big to have them belief in this. You think they have that would that at least I didn't play that well on the pre season. -- you think you think they have that or. Maybe there's a game like on days hope that."

Play from 12:19[12:19]" Well obviously game likes and it really helps his cause and so -- he's capable. Who knows what. Anybody thinks about them -- season because you know. I know and bill's been here watching pretty season really well. Developing. Getting the opportunity to perform and do some things and watch. And value and use precision to which team. And I think. Everyone from the you know and coach -- he's capable and I think Adam. You know it is what it is that. He got an opportunity to do some things and and he. It is -- it was what."

Play from 13:09[13:09]" We think the tough thing because he's seen get sacked a lot where is Tom Brady Annika can look it up but he -- act like twenty time. Bomb."

Play from 13:20[13:20]" I don't happen to think I'm not."

Play from 13:22[13:22]" By any means an offensive line expert. He would act. When he one -- on an expert on the offensive line play."

Play from 13:32[13:32]" But. I would tend to put."

Play from 13:35[13:35]" A lot of this. On. The quarterback. As opposed to line and I don't mean that as a light against -- cat hole as what I needed as a compliment for Tom Brady identify things. Knows -- coming get the ball out quickly waned when he has to and all of that whereas Matt Cassel. You know people forget the Tom Brady's first year playing in 2001 to -- 45 times in fourteen games. Though he wasn't recognized. You know I mean take time to seal off."

Play from 14:08[14:08]" The pro game now. I don't care who you are today while. To learn now being a backup."

Play from 14:17[14:17]" If he hadn't. You know it's -- you have to do. What you get. Playing. -- one can be gained. You really -- That's going to be I think Matt Lawton. -- Mourns. -- mourns him to read and I think. His can't leave the minded about things more. We ought to mean. And and and preparation. -- And on game. News in the year. -- Things."

Play from 15:26[15:26]" And one of the things as far as the sacks bill. -- I think it's tough for people who realized in the sun times. He's making the right play by taking the sack even now it's frustrating you don't like kitten you know upon. -- situation way you. As Bill Parcells. Is today. You know you save the opportunity to park as opposed controllable that a team if you're trying to be hero. Then that's taken the fact is that apply. And navy avoid a much more negative play. So I mean I do think this -- got because I mean I'm sure that recognizing things and as a different player. You know when you -- a new quarterback committee young guy and in their back up. That game but he knocked out here quarterbacks I mean did you need at least okay now we gotta come after and we get on different things we got to try to confuse the guy. Because because he hasn't seen it."

Play from 16:22[16:22]" Absolutely we we we did whenever we knew there was a new quarterback and we definitely. Gave him different looks. Rotated to back through and you know we we we tried to do everything that we couldn't confused. And it worked a lot and there were times where you know. When we thought it was important it didn't work so. -- you do look to confuse and two. Throw them off a big game -- when players come and you know Cole. You -- you want to confuse."

Play from 16:54[16:54]" I eat a lot of moving around on defense nowadays. You know guys jump in and out of her thoughts like no we're doing whatever. Before the."

Play from 17:04[17:04]" Obviously trying to create confusion with the pre snap read it is the key to disguising."

Play from 17:10[17:10]" The post now movement -- when I look out I he -- do it really could become a full."

Play from 17:18[17:18]" what the best way to go about the guys that like just dropping I mean I got."

Play from 17:22[17:22]" It changes from week to week I mean they're there have been times when you know coach to -- lineup been all right away so or. Great week we know that we've been ruled that you read in the read we've been -- don't show don't show. You guys get caught biko's. They were it would open forums and moving out who is like oh he's got a hole that they've gotten to the -- now football. And because you know as the quarterback comes. Really easy as OK you -- and all in. Nowhere comes as a linebacker. -- up on the the wide receiver who's going and in a -- hit. And and and our fans we take that in the way we read an exceptional. And oh. Yeah the key to it is you you you. You move when you when told the movement and and sometimes you hold off -- It will vary it varies from week to week quarterback the quarterback and quarterbacks -- good. -- Went deep set of players. Have there own quarterback goes down. Do they feel some responsibility to do more and and how and you have to. Do you have to do more or do you have to resist the temptation to do more. Both both times you know you look and -- quarters -- Now we. Mordant his radio. Upon. You know we pretty. You know pretty good. -- some. Raise go play in and you have to be careful because again. You tend to try to do and doing. Pretty and you beat. -- normally wouldn't clause. He. Forced and quarterback goes down. And it through you know. Our goal. And will lose. And after."

Play from 19:51[19:51]" No I thought that last year. The Patriots defense was okay. Nothing special. I thought it benefited. A lot from. The production of the offense keeping it out of a lot of that situation in pressure situations but that said. I don't know what the calls -- I don't you know I'm sure that that the -- a -- and he. And production of the offense that we had an impact on the way they played defense the way they called the fences. You know we don't -- take chances we're going to score which is going to -- back here and clay are covered two and do whatever. Does. What when a situation like that comes up -- require more scheming on behalf of the coaches --"

Play from 20:37[20:37]" Again. It. Last year was who was one thing this year. You know who we've improved and owners that. May have been no weaknesses last year. It. Again it is it varies from year a year play at -- players you know plans on. The area that you want to work and improving it better. You know who who knows have you had a chance to watch. -- I think their -- is a talented football players who. They're learning course he he he. You know. People game plan. Because it does a lot of things well you know. Read. All. And now people realized you know. Again we. And Britain's. And -- a week ago. With be it means he's going to the work art here. One we need to -- as a way to work and more. Doing things mean and games. And when. -- Work. And and so. It didn't happen it's we refused to. Oh. With -- to do was realize it away game plan. In. Game. Next week. I gotta show that. I can overcome those things. If you don't. We are copycat league and it continues to lose and things people who want to -- That this -- And he did this week before and were. Weak in oh and to show. Com. Keep doing it and it's going to be -- And and use him. -- good football players leave. And and more."

Play from 23:20[23:20]" Well I'd look at them and and I kinda have a feeling that Bill Belichick. Would rather not be playing rookies at that position. If he could help it."

Play from 23:33[23:33]" But."

Play from 23:35[23:35]" When. But I wonder how hard on how difficult it is for a guy coming in as a rookie. And and stepping into game 342. Gap defense inside. On my short we have played in two gap before. I'll wear you know obviously not operating days we -- taking on guards at times. You know they've been kind of shape and been a little bit more than I've seen in the past. I don't know it plain little more gap control one gap penetration type defense but."

Play from 24:10[24:10]" You know it it it as Ted Johnson say it's -- out the."

Play from 24:14[24:14]" When you play in and the defense and does that make it that much harder as opposed plan behind to beat that guy who occupying the guards in the and I need to realm. -- because."

Play from 24:25[24:25]" You know and and any player will you now it was you know. The ability to do that when you please report and calls. His. You have to be conscious of -- and it. At all times and you know obviously he can do it. Oh. I think. If you enough. You play enough you plan. It it's not hard. But it demand it is. Wolves. Tell you what type of play. You guys -- physical play there are you going to be different. And there's no room for an. -- He he definitely rule. When his career is over he's going to be physical -- Now you've played and played 34 for most of his career -- played before pretty much my career. So. Makers and those guys came -- we played a little bit of -- Where I."

Play from 25:39[25:39]" For. Much. More so on the line of scrimmage -- that you. On a lot different being on the and I told you would have liked to point out when he Andre if it. Lawrence Taylor comparison made that you played the tight end side he has beaten tackles off the end -- they -- bad guys."

Play from 26:01[26:01]" Marlins -- hardware right fielder and yeah. You know. Strong -- I mean you know the funny thing about it is. You don't think it makes you I was always drawn. My whole school college. Careers. -- You a couple of times and -- law law was it was -- and have anybody to beat up on him. And -- physical. Like okay now go go to quarter."

Play from 26:36[26:36]" How much you can count and it's not an Odyssey. -- point -- is great -- is what it is he's in Kent Ohio along with you as one of the greatest linebackers of all time but. I'm curious to know. What you think about how that left tackle position has changed and and I read. A book about. -- blind side evolution of the left tackle and essentially. And talked about how. The 49ers. One time got single handedly and eliminated from the playoffs by Chris Coleman. Because he just beat the left tackle so badly that Joe Montana -- again. And and that before they played LT. He the guy couldn't sleep in -- fall -- because the because LT was coming in any knew -- couldn't block them. The left tackle changed quite a bit to become. Much more athletic in. The bill Walsh offense and the passing offense became invoke."

Play from 27:36[27:36]" Oh are you gotta do is look around the league and all of these left tackles that comment and if you don't know all the names off apartment -- look at a guy like Bruce Armstrong. Look at a guy like Anthony Munoz. It is again the kid. It was though the Ravens. -- yeah final. People have. A problem. Yeah every time I what Jonathan not Jonathan Ogden. I mean all of these guys when they came available in the draft in the team you can tell look at that kid from -- From Miami. All along yeah. You want a big -- all physical and wool. When you watch that -- along from Miami when he played. He was put on clinic. On the things he was doing he was pretty physical. And so often that bill Walsh put out. Probably back and in."

Play from 28:40[28:40]" 2000. And I 2000. And the mean. In the 44 point one was -- When was and a quarterback who could it in the office and -- And fitness. And -- Who left tackle. Or about 55. -- the paper -- Hughes' -- him talks -- talk and hopeful. And -- it is when the necessities. Teams view. That peer group at the line they'll. You gonna have I would build walls head you'd be limited group play."

Play from 29:35[29:35]" Yeah and and Mike might ask questions. As great as LT Wallace. Do you think he would have exactly the same type of impact with the evolution of that left tackle position. Because the guys maybe the guys that played left tackle Mike back there might be right tackles and."

Play from 29:54[29:54]" From I I still a bit LT would probably had success so. And use of phenomenal the politically via a value if Don had half. He hit it it would have been so easy for him but he wouldn't you know they'll have to do some things I mean he played and he and you look at these are linemen and and the Carl banks in the -- reasons and and different guys please outline back away and so. He was surrounded by great guys com car and you know then later pepper Johnson. You know old. He would have bills. A lot of success."

Play from 30:39[30:39]" Now when you look at the Patriots defense. Up front and and you mention that he hasn't won in -- with Leonard Marshall and obviously the size of players. Has changed quite a bit mean -- with their nose tackle. And probably weighs half as much as Vince Wilfork -- now but. -- do you believe that. Even though you have to have great linebackers to play that he and that it all starts with the nose tackle absolutely. Luis -- when you plan. Pleased with three or weekly report. And ordered."

Play from 31:18[31:18]" Yeah."

Play from 31:20[31:20]" 234 you've got to have a nose guard and hunkered down and it anchor and they -- them you know full season. I -- you -- have the defensive end who can."

Play from 31:32[31:32]" Play. -- you gotta have."

Play from 31:36[31:36]" Strong nose tackle who can clog the middle because you don't. And put added pressure on the inside backers. Yet knows that was definitely wrong report but I just self. And maybe LT. Cool what was the best pass -- you have all played against and they were playing against them model model. That you -- play as any when you emulated our bodies. I mean you guys that I played against. In over the years and look to Bruce. In practice. Him when he won. -- and you know he he consistently. Crystal. You know eighties he. Phenomenal past structure. Richard dent in those guys. And a few pretty. And you know. Coming into the game plan. College football Watson -- guys aren't in the league. You know you talk about. LC Greenwood. -- deacon Jones in life and those guys you know. The technique they used Becton about it in my will be legal and -- the public. At that point. You know when they aren't very effective. Many. Lives of -- home. Many guys you know from me I learned by watching and -- and I was able to. Immediately that particular movement was in the room of the club graduated -- who. He gets to go long and in called across your body. You know we won't talk about the world the Q who was new guy knows. It and and you know you've got to be -- graduate. It. Beat you know and -- all that stuff is all technique you know off the ball you got your key to lose. You watch the ball mean it and move that you're gone and which one do you want to create. Jokes and point you only get off -- attack the moves he can't and you've got a variety of moves in continue under club. -- All of that got off to earn. And I mean part of my repertoire. Yeah --"

Play from 34:18[34:18]" Send your emails and web radio at Patriots dot com that is in I had the hallway of Andre Tippett -- after the."

Play from 35:07[35:07]" Double catering had a good to beat for a -- naked every apartment together catering and give them -- never forget let me -- I'll let you go back."

Play from 35:16[35:16]" Big games mean big parties -- twenty or more of your friends with a Q -- hot -- not sure naked burrito bar from Hugo with catering gets -- price and budget friendly now with sixteen messages to two occasions opening September Patriot place and get more square hole manual available accused dove -- dot com."

Play from 35:33[35:33]" Patriot place knew -- closed and only super regional lifestyle and entertainment center you -- Gillette Stadium in Foxborough Massachusetts home of the New England Patriots and New England Revolution is now go home knowing what's most. Exciting entertainment shopping destination featuring -- On Christmas tree shops are probably -- staples at new England's first bass pro shops Patriot place has something for your shopping needs and."

Play from 35:59[35:59]" Coming into Patriot places the first CBS restaurant bar called four star hotel. Showpiece live entertainment value and along with the hall at Patriot place presented by rookie -- yeah."

Play from 36:13[36:13]" Shopping and entertainment dining experience is unlike any other New England Patriots best place dot com for more information and -- kind of glad we sweepstakes will be opportunity to women's 10000 dollar visa gift card won't. McDonald's I'm --"

Play from 37:33[37:33]" Welcome back to inside the hall yeah. Football hall Andre Tippett I'm Bryan Morry where radio. Patriots dot com that the union address. And picking up inside the hall. Our beloved producer here Gary predict he took voice guy rob you'll you'll a Schuettler. Can't -- you. -- Shuler Schuettler. Butler made through here that the voice welcome to the hole and he ought to -- avoid work in the whole. In the building blocks and -- it always a war for the radio. In the mornings are always tough to get through -- stop play your local Dunkin' Donuts today. The -- think -- you through the whole first time through the whole thing really with some time."

Play from 38:21[38:21]" Well of the induction weekend after the all England. Get -- sort it's great what you would you would you like that. What he he's our listeners about Al Wallace and -- moving. Of course you know the -- I -- recommendation of putting Brett Favre and absolutely. As Gary Player command thanks Eric. And it was memorable. Elicited you know like motion."

Play from 39:03[39:03]" And I do think the point of that stuff and I agree with you. Obviously you can't Favre and the feel the pain. Feel that pain. Because -- building up to that championship season and if you feel the pain during film. -- not much more emotion when he finally the confetti falling and then. He's -- confetti falling."

Play from 39:22[39:22]" A little sort of a little bit of confetti.
