[0:42]" Everybody right here on Patriots dot com radio my name is John rook and I -- the inning upon. Who you. Report it was either very good weekend or it wasn't a good weekend. I just told Gary that it frankly I think this is just. This is just nature's way of evening things out because you know. We've added real good around here lately. Several lately in fact I think for the most part. And the go you know Patriots Red Sox what have you everybody's had it pretty good round here so when you you get of you get a stinker like that although it. Two times in the last three games now that you had to -- like this which certainly Bears another you know. That a vote questions. On the will undoubtedly be approached here at some point. You have to wonder there's not a bigger issue to tackle. Maybe that's part of what we should begin tackling because of the Patriots you know I I've I've let it kind of it now for about you know a day. I have ever -- was over almost two days. I did my best. Even though yes they -- the the Columbus Day holiday I did my best stay away. From radio and some of the talk shows and in the the I get emotional reactions after the loss on Sunday night. In a reason is because I wanted to you know it's kinda like. You know getting an email to make angry and you just immediately fire off an answer. And then maybe 1520 minutes what you wish you hadn't done it because you had a chance let that reflect a little bit like you know it wasn't quite as bad as -- about. You know majesty's sometimes you have to maturity kind of -- so with that in mind at the study ornaments that way for most everything. I didn't watch any of the NFL highlight shows at all after that game was over on Sunday night. It watch anything yesterday with the exception of the -- blown out arm I I just wanted to chance. To be able to talk we -- today. From -- less emotional standpoint because I will admit will watch the game Sunday night I was angry. I was confused. I was up that. I would doubt it I was second guess I was like what the hell does. Just like I'm sure you -- And you know what that's not right I gotta I gotta take tobacco habit of it we can make this makes. And I think the general consent that have been able to come up with a my own mind. After kind of paying attention now to what others are saying at least -- about this time yesterday. Com. It is still a team that. I think the general perception is the Patriots are a team that largely has everything in place with the exception of one guy. I think that's the that's the misconception about the Patriots. I think the Patriots are now realizing for instance how much they really miss a guy like Asante Samuel in the defensive back. I think -- and they're all a learning that. One or two. Perhaps the linebackers and I'm not going to name names you come up with -- combinations. Have seen better days. And maybe one or two others are not living up to expectations are not. They may be pulling their own might. But because they're not helping the others it it though the entire unit operas by comparison. If that makes any sense. I think the defensive line is under performing with one exception. One exception based on what I've seen at least over the last two or three weeks. So right there you're looking at the entire defensive unit. That ought to be pretty good indicator as to why this team give a thirty point the other night. Offensively speaking I think we all realize. That yes it is a different team. Without you know you know who quarterback. But the problems offensively go deeper than just that and again. The misconception of Patriot is all it's the same team they don't don't have Tom Brady Tom Brady doesn't tackle Tom Brady doesn't block. Never did. May never ever do it again that's pressure -- and catch pass. On the offensive side of the ball -- Yeah if you're gonna miss. A certain hall of Famer. Quite frankly you're you're going to suffer little bit by comparison. And we've taken great pains -- you week. Is -- the season opener occurred to explain it on tape that -- castles go into the same type of thing that Tom went through when he took the job over Drew Bledsoe. For the most part. And comparatively speaking and we've done some of the comparisons that you probably read them on line was seen on TV -- read -- and a newspaper. But this is not at least up until a week until go we're very comparable if not even slightly better that -- Brady was that the same stage of his career back in 2001. The problem is is that you've got a problem in the offensive backfield. And I think we all know where that is he would even suit up. He also had a little bit more of an entry problem on Sunday night because LaMont Jordan also didn't shoot a suit up should pardon me. Freudian slip -- The offensive line. I didn't restart. But all of the one thing that I will start in and get don't get me wrong here I loved and -- Is a great kid while I was at BC calling their games years ago when he was the starting in Boston College. He was you know right place right time fit into the right mold. But he was abused by Jamal Williams. Up used -- and on the goal line stand the completely turn the game around in the third quarter as we all know. You know Patriots -- down seventeen to three knocking on the door -- that touchdown it changes the entire face of the football game. He got abused I haven't seen a center pancaked like that maybe ever in the unit in the NFL. You know -- ever when you went back up back backyard football pickup football. It ever had you play with a rule and I may be speaking to southerners primarily here because we just play with you know the DC rule. When he played touch football -- D seen in my you know what he's seeing and no ducking the setter. I mean basically shove the that are spaced out into the ground every step foot ball because he's not looking you. That's exactly what Jamal Williams did -- but he. He ducked the -- And -- play. An amazing to me how a team in the NFL -- first goal of the warning cannot get a yard day. It just blows me away. I don't care how good I don't care if the other team has eleven Shawne Merriman. You should be able to pick up an eight yard. Quarterback. An eight yard c'mon. I you know I just. You have to fill the offensive line and the Boston you -- threw everybody under the boss I realize that you know they were playing with the the Al -- Off on one of the tackles bonds because casual went down. Com I am sorry and as editor of the fact that it went a and M I'm not a Billy Yates and I just I don't think he has. I really believe and I've said this before on the show this year. And those of you who have list of the show at all before you know that I've made the this point they miss the after -- in the Stephen Neal. A great deal. He was one of those glue guys kind of helped keep that unit together it is athletic has paid off for life he helped make all the guys look good. Now that he's you know finally learned applicable from being -- he's one of the true great story. I think that you know has come across you know the New England Patriots way in the last several years based in his Bagram. And his development. But the on the line was horrific. If you don't have all the line and you don't have running back -- only expect a lot you quarterback and I am not. In any stretch laying this at -- street. Doing it. Now granted today is you know NFL trading deadlines for PM today at 4 PM eastern time today's trading deadline -- So were an hour 45 minutes away from and I who knows. If anybody will do -- I was at the patrons and I have to admit that the Patriots did what I want them to realize that this what 234 weeks ago maybe. I had I think you know you need a little pick me up that you need little jolt. -- the electricity goes through the veins of everybody in Foxborough and includes the guys and down -- hallway in the locker room I think maybe. Either cut somebody or you pick somebody up said that a month ago. I would love them to go and pick up of course he although he's playing again now for Tampa -- I don't know all that I heard a radio reporter early this morning that said that Detroit was going to release. Jon Kitna if he was not traded for by 4 PM. I don't know do you still go get Jon Kitna what they did Jon Kitna. Doesn't do much remained baby does more for you. My first question to you today kids web radio at Patriots dot com okay. First question do you is this is the trading deadline the NFL. At 4 PM eastern time today if there was one player that you could trade for that you think would make a difference right now. In this football team. Then -- Okay maybe we know who Gary would. On if there's one player is somewhere in the NFL you that would make a difference. Who is. Now if you want to go part of this guy that's fine okay. I think you have to realize that you know there are certain you know cost parameters let's talk -- players that would be get -- Get a maybe you're not initiated -- you don't maybe you don't know. Other guys you know contractual situation -- and -- which is while allowing you to have the -- and the guy. You know a let's go give Peyton Manning you know -- That's great although -- ensure that would do when he I think frankly of the Patriots need to look elsewhere. They need to look elsewhere. Like I said couple moments Matt Cassel was not the problem. What my estimation on on the night far from many other problems reared their ugly head. On on Sunday night for -- even begin thinking about quarterback. Now again. If they went out made a deal like of younger a year on the like that well that -- that little jolt of electricity in there but I think that it would be. I think the -- attack in the wrong problem now. Three or four weeks ago I would've thought now I think. It's changed it's -- work in progress here. And there is a law. An awful lot of work to be -- So are right I -- this guy shoot for one player that you think could it. Or your estimation would it make it different on this Patriots roster right now if -- glide and get him who would you get. Web radio at Patriots dot com all the numbers 585437482. Final 8543748. Obviously this being Tuesday it's also would -- Tuesday as we normally do here in the playbook. Nobody needs to pick I don't even know where to start but I have already touched on the obvious -- from Sunday night at thirtieth and the bako with the hands of the Chargers. I did in San Diego when the game -- last week Italy and it just didn't think it would turn out exactly. The way that it did. Not even close out of big league game. And they had they had a game a bit but still had a game. Up until you know the 98 yard drive went against them and by the way. Talk about an ignominious lap of the -- talk about the ultimate insult. -- in 2 injury as you get off -- At the one of the two yard line. And and the team Rams it down your -- the other way for 98 yards I mean how incredibly bad is that. That is. That is the the the equivalent of rubbing salt into an open -- I don't know how the Patriots defensively allow that -- does like offensively I don't know how they kept from getting one yard. But a lot of the team to go 98 the other way after you come up short. I I I am I'm still lost work it was a complete in order. Melt -- break their failure. Finale -- two of the last three games they have -- When he is throwing the Miami debacle. Tells me at this team playing any tougher schedule that they have left ahead of them. There's no way that this is a playoff team with -- they're currently can you know the way that the currently -- and yet we didn't really notice. I think it's most troubling here. We didn't really notice. A lot of the flaws in this team until. Brady went out. And just now -- beginning to understand you know what. Where would we be if we had Brady. Would we be four -- one would we be five and no I I'd after what I on Sunday night I can't imagine. I cannot imagine the Patriots head away. With Brady at the national animal a little way if if they got the lead of causing people to give up causing teams to basically say. Well we're not going to win this. I grew I truly believe that it is all mental. So many things are equal physically -- mentally is where you gain or lose your edge in the NFL. The Patriots had the mental -- and they've lost the key. Part to gaining that mental edge over the opponents in their quarterback. And so when we lose the quarterback that people are thinking hey they don't have the quarterback maybe we got a shot a what you start believing that mental thing kicks and and then what you start proving Andy's start you know beat them up a little bit and push our. -- a bit and shot the ball down their throats for 98 yards well then okay. All right. And I got I got so I -- of your -- and got a team that will to play with the on equal terms. When they had Brady it was on equal terms. That much team into the franchise overall. Other guys have the ability I believe still on this roster to pick up the slack and they're not doing it. Some of them can't stay healthy. Some of them. Their best days have passed them by. So I think what we're seeing is is that when Tom Brady went down we're looking at a low. -- remaking of the New England Patriots beginning the transformation has begun. It happened a little bit earlier than most of his thought it would mean I think most of us felt like for the season started. But it was a select you know Brady's got 135. More years easy and so we've got three more years of living high on the all around here and fielding a legitimate they have these last Super Bowl contender. Long -- he's quarterback. I think what -- realizing here is is that may be. This team wasn't quite is complete. Because again Brady has a way of making you glossed over. The areas of your team that need attention I am willing to wager that both Scott pioli and Bill Belichick. Are aware. And have been aware of for some time all the problems on the team. Certainly they addressed at least some of that in the off season -- Jerod Mayo. Maligned backing core and try to get repeated you know time in the pre season at least for Pierre Woods and Eric Alexander. You know in keeping -- guy -- and still lecture while we have seen Shawn Crable. Com. But you know perhaps on. I think that if you got to shake things up right now. I -- him you know -- Deltha O'Neal right off the roster after that unbelievable. Performance I mean -- named him to go. -- remember Elvis to post Patterson for the giant speakers back. I'd dealt the post O'Neal. Or as I'm concerned. There's a reason why the winless Cincinnati Bengals let him go there's a reason. I thought the time of the victim of a you know couldn't -- got an experience he's a veteran. You know we had you know in decent history with picked up veterans from you know all of them you know have been discarded all the way -- even off of bomb teams before. Take a shot right well this didn't mark. -- this one right up there with the Donald eighties. -- at wide receiver. I. Man was he that I I'm of the opinion now. And again I'm I'm just going out nit picks left -- right your kids so feel free to chime in with your biggest -- there's a bunch of them here to pick and choose your favorite. Pick and choose your favorite nip at the one nitpick that you got to just pick on the day like you know you gotta pick at that -- You know even crack the gap because -- pitches right okay so scratch the -- today. Web radio at Patriots dot com that tiger reaches here you to do you're nitpicking but tell me what it is from Sunday -- that really is still -- it's an action today. And I guess my biggest one is his O'Neal and why. He would even be on the roster today I am at the stage now or I've seen enough through a couple of weeks where I'm ready to just I'm I'm ready to throw my lot in with a young kids. Let's let Wheatley and -- have that slot let's just let him learn on -- trial by fire. Because. What what difference is -- going to make. Arguably the schedule is easy enough for them to be able to at least be competitive but when you go on the road and you play teams that are still pretty good and I that we realized. Diego's a pretty good team they're only three and three right double we talked about all last week for -- B that may not been with a federal last week with several people from India. And they all scratching their heads liberal why this team is you know up and down and keep in mind now the first two games they lost on fluke lost in the final seconds. A team was not far away for being at least four and one may be even Ivan now. But certainly four and one. And they played like a team that was 415 -- the Patriots on on Patriots I just don't think had a San Diego when there aren't based on what I saw it was lifeless it was lit. I don't know if being in the west coast last week had anything to do that I you know. Everybody has known all that was the right move to make all what's the prove. What's the -- only. Not that I'm from Missouri and they but surely. The game. I'd be convinced it was a good idea ahead the team at least been competitive. And played and -- and some higher. Nothing lifeless listless. Last. Parable. Maybe they -- too comfortable last week. -- comfortable. And it too many creature comforts of home. Maybe they needed a little bi coastal road trip just wake -- all of it gives them the to bitch about. Didn't work didn't. Know. Bottom line if this is a bottom line business and I am told all the time -- He cares just win. While I didn't win did. So under reevaluate from top to bottom has time to reevaluate everything he can't talk out of both -- amount of time reevaluate. Taken on a week but we bases but time to re evaluate a lot of different things. And really liked each of those young kids get the call it that corner now. Tex tech and I got to play act hands. Holy cow. I was there three wrote an Okie state at tech and Kansas. Home games they have Missouri. Always a good hair -- going to give them are they going to do a political debate here only does the forum all we -- but now in. Anyway good stuff here -- I love -- I love a listen I gotta tell you Rivers. Because I know you listen quite often hum. I have a friend of mine who worked with the TV in San Antonio number years ago. Who is and attack I would tech is he went though he was well he's an Oklahoma. Very good guy still believe in the media business in the Dallas or were there. And we used to go back and forth all the time on things like. A back. Alley because we had a mutual respect for each other's football program which of course the other. The storied football programs. And -- Oklahoma -- there what you know I had some advantages in the last decade or -- for the most part although Texas is now one realist or. By my -- so careful. Careful careful what you wish for another crack at Texas you might get it although that you know going to get it this year. That's the other thing I won Texas Williams and division thanks. Stakes they should be playing for the big twelve championship not you know. -- in addition to what they do obviously in the cotton bowl second Saturday of every October which -- one of the great traditions. In college football. One of the great traditions and college of Texas and local meeting the cotton bowl. That's a state their second Saturday every October open never goes away. Kobe get a chance -- some of the game because it was an outstanding. Outstanding football. No matter the level. -- let's get some emails and your web radio at Patriots dot com 5 wait 5437482. Is that helluva number of years -- Or you know that you want to chime in on my via email or telephone and again I'm Brian -- schedule in the next hour also Bryant on we have mark Johnson from a KOA radio and Denver coming up or talk about the Broncos in today's program. Bomb this comes from Thomas and Michigan is. On the first long passed down the sideline -- Moss isn't that the job of Randy come back to the ball in the even go up to the highest point to out jump the cornerback. Not slow down it would jogging pace and just simply pick his hands out hoping that the ball lands in the could question Thomas. The Chargers receivers seemingly had no problem doing this even when the passes weren't the best. As Rivers knew his guys would go for the ball. There's shortage told secondary players in the league coming out trek to yeah. And now it seems like we didn't you know would like we had a little emotions back there against their wide receivers that nets. Either that or got our guys have no hop whatsoever but none zero. I am I gonna feel the same thing they Jack or like certainly looked like usual and come back but the ball didn't. Although couple occasions he didn't have to but still it looked like he was certainly willing to do that we didn't have it about that would do that. On Todd as ever when he calmed down cast was about fourth on my list of concerns about this team I'd agree with Utah. Totally agree with. Cassell is not at the top of concern list right now the Patriots he was not the reason his team got beat up. And pushed around and slammed -- on Sunday night. Todd -- San Diego on the road was going to be a hard game to win with or without Tom Brady. That he has been the big disappointment. No pass rush. Poor corner play they're the big problem this has always been a bend but don't break defense this year it's been a band then break defense. Let's just hope the bill straighten things out. They don't. Yeah I think he's going to hit the nail on the head. It is you know it's been bend but don't break this year -- band and then break. We had no pass rush whatsoever on the -- he noticed how much quicker again if you're going to be nitpicking here which is what we do on Tuesday's. If you're going to be Neifi E Cassel held on the ball way too. Wait to noticed Rivers got rid of the football and -- Because he knew where his receivers are going to be and his receivers on the ball is off the mark as we've already had an email -- suggest. Is receivers -- to come back for the ball. That's that's what quarterbacks and receivers know each other. That's what they do. And I would argue that the Patriots still don't have that kind of chemistry between Cassell and Moss or Welker or. Or Watson or. Gaffney or anybody. They don't have that yet and we all that painstakingly we had to go through that and witness then on Sunday night. Still not they're. No matter how much they practice and how much they go back in four. And and and and work together is still not there San Diego handed so because of that. Because of Rivers getting rid of the football as quickly as he did you had to find a way to put pressure on him they never. Did I don't that means you -- the outside backer you change up to I don't know what amazed if they were too afraid of LaDainian Tomlinson gouging. As the one thing the Patriots actually did fairly well exceptionally of one run. Actually bottled up Thomas pretty well you know hurt big toe or no hurt big toe that he had. Allegedly."
[43:24]" You have to find a way to put some heat on the quarterback. Little money how times we have -- do we not learned that last February. That when you put heat on the quarterback good things usually happen for your defense."
[43:38]" Did this team not learn it Giambi get -- that this team is stubborn enough defensively. Too stubborn defense that they adjust the front four or three. Is good enough to put pressure on NFL quarterback I'm here to tell you now. That not work gang."
[43:58]" It doesn't work. You front every bit they're get there at two gap responsibility okay there you're faced for the linebackers to make plays in the linebackers are not. Making place. Are we gonna you're deep and then to rush. If you're gonna ask you deep and didn't get into the opposing team offensive backfield than by golly you got to be able. The final over them to do that means you're gonna rush more than three. You'd better -- at least four if not more. You better find an odd corner blitz because hell they can't cover anybody want to help not blitz the quarterback. And take your chances were the same week. That's that's you know. The deep in his inability to would just only it was clear they were getting no pressure on Rivers was also a great conundrum on -- I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why they not adjusting. What might miss. I realize that a lot of."
[45:01]" Coaches don't always think that this is rocket science and that you and I can't understand but I have been around the game thirty years I've picked up a little bit here and there. There's a way to a job. Try something. Actually if you like I mean maybe that maybe they felt like the linebackers couldn't -- and the linebackers can't cover quite healthy and hit somebody and they can do the job. -- chance on on Pierre Woods were elegant Eric Alexander Gary guidance somebody get them in there and let them do the job. I'm not necessarily picking on one person or even two people here. I'm just kind of found out loud. That's what nitpicking is. But their whole -- think that you can look at Todd is dead on with the seemingly. And the Sioux City, Iowa is. Great job on the west coast covering the games I've felt like Matt Cassel to step back in the Chargers game missing receivers and not reading defenses real well. -- will be a big game we need to win this one I've a feeling colors going to cut us apart were looking more and more like an eight -- team we're lucky. While I don't know the Matt Cassel took a step back. Yeah he missed some receivers. I just on the eat checked off for a while he still doesn't do real well maybe that just comes with confidence factor. Reading defenses real well plan. And it's possible that part of it. You know we were criticizing him in the early going for checking down to loft. And not you know trying to find the primaries he looked like the other night he was trying to go primary as as his only option. Monica a couple of occasions when he did check -- got yarder to that was about it it was too late. The decision making -- it has to be quicker there has to be a quicker release for Cassell. At the biggest difference I've noticed between him and anybody he goes up against the opposing quarterback. Sought again you know and Philip Rivers great release the global quick release. Gotta work on. You know Denver's a big game there's no doubt about it Patriots do need to win it. I don't you know Denver though is a Jekyll and Hyde team Denver is all offense no defense. In -- for the Patriots probably going to end up having to score and I thought you know. They would have to score 25 plus may be you know 230 to to be San Diego on his turns out yeah. Thirty when it got -- a time. I think you're gonna have to score thirty again Monday night to beat Denver. Because Denver's going to be right there with you know 28 to 31 of the Rome because the -- pretty good. And their defense got problems of this as. To be a great game for television back in or shoot out offense team's move another down the field has -- it really does it has the makings of -- great offensive shoot. May as well as -- figure like -- you know what we would score the last time we have the ball. And that's the way I'd be approaching you know next Monday. We got to figure out a way to point the board and outscored Denver because we're not stop and anybody. Not -- Anybody. Todd in the Lito Shepperd we really to pass rush it don't get those guys of the trading deadline all the terms -- yeah. Player that you think they could make a difference yeah. Lito Sheppard would certainly be one of those critically that would be. My preference I'd love to find somebody who would be eighty not -- shut down corner. -- but he could just spend a corner. Frankly it by going to have one player on this team that I think would make a difference right now I'd go back to get on and you know I didn't think we miss him near as much. As we are missing him. -- in a good player not great player good player. I certainly don't blame the -- for not signing him just because of the money he commanded. But now that he's gonna that we realize how much -- him and how much we do miss him now and how much of a different. He could make on this current Patriot team if he were still here make a big -- So we're going to go to his growing pains now until we can you know bring some of the younger kids up to speed. Lito Sheppard that's good choice good choice. Andy and aluminum back decent rook I know he's older but he sure knows that the that the fans sign him -- Ty Law is subject line. I watched the replay of -- Patriots January in the AN HL would you game it sure felt good watching Brady taking -- and the task. Yeah well can't do much about that in our. Can't do anything about that sorry. Ty Law I've I've wondered why that is never happen. Why is it never happened wise Ty Law. And the Patriots never happen I can only surmise that the Patriots have perhaps made inquiries but that -- this is -- ties and I was totally taken out of context. And maybe. Maybe. Fact is is that you know I would think that if he wanted to be here. He might me. But you know I guess we have -- was going to desk Ty Law that question -- it was a BR ignore you know. -- he's had much of a chance say that to me. -- first round pick plus first round pick a first round pick pro bowler plus first round pick. Rookie playing well plus over the hill player he's done and plus high -- free -- equals no pass rush. You know. And I think he's -- singling out some folks on the defensive line. Yeah well. That's a problem and like -- said if you've got all these players who were first round picks and or pro ball players. And there's still no pass rush then. Okay. Where's the fault line. Where does the fall. -- in the schematic. -- it in the coaching. Is it in the game planning. Probably. A little of each. Yeah I thought this team would be a better team. For having the experience of a dom capers. With the secondary that we knew it was going to be potentially a trouble spot. And yet. Secondary is worst and I think anybody ever imagined it could be an anomaly and the coach -- I'm not only in the and coach Pease the defensive court related on any. I'm saying that it is a total team effort and the team is failing. We all know where the problems. You can pick it out I can pick his out. I know that they'd on the -- can pick them. So how best you attack it. You know you gotta come up with something here otherwise and he got to get somebody else then. To come up something. That's basically what it boiled down to and what will probably be talking about for most of the rest of the season especially of the season continues to go opened Alec stock market. -- largely been down all the we have the youth rally this on Friday -- yeah 901 points on. That's that that part was that part was okay -- I mean night Monday yesterday so arm. Better not great but better. Okay this one now I don't know who this is going to sign these things kids as we are not a national team we do not have smash mouth personnel. At quarterback with no experience why are we not capable of playing -- drink. Randy Moss is our best playmaker. Well read and hear about being worried about his attitude in taking plays off for him or. Just going through the motions. He's 64 and his great -- wouldn't you red zone TD catches or at least opportunities. Be good for everyone. Can't argue that point we didn't -- to mausoleums and it may be Cassell doesn't throw it past. Brady and Belichick have stated that he has artist wide receiver they have plate doesn't that sound like an advantage for the past. And we don't even try. Also -- has stated that the reason the draft Cassel is due to his hapless that this is true. Why would we not spread things out at the goal line and give them a true run pass option. We love draw plays one had a quarterback draw. -- accuracy is questionable in his decision making is low but he is not the main problem. In bill we trust doesn't seem to -- is true anymore we need to shake things up and give the team a chance to excel at an excellent -- That's an excellent excellent -- the name on the address regional interest but -- next time give ourselves credit he did a good job."
[53:55]" I could not could not agree more."
[53:58]" The idea here is you've got to play two guys ranked. And though if he's got an athletic isn't that why don't you spread it out and goes."
[54:07]" Your four wide at the one yard line. Running out of the shotgun. And let him have a run pass option sounds good to -- Rwanda Moss making Gordon get that you got -- what isn't fine go get big Fella here you go. Or at the better at the very least let Kevin Faulk -- all of bill curl over the metal granite the end zone. And yet we're going to go to tight -- I am yeah and get an offensive line get blown. Off the ball by Jamal Williams. That was one -- the most embarrassed and what is I think I've seen in a long time I feel for a guy like open. It is -- deserve all the blame but he was the focal point of the problem."
[54:53]" yeah you gotta come you -- rates and things that give your team a chance to compete. And frankly the coaching and the calls we're just there's abysmal on Sunday night. As the execution. Doesn't take much of a Patriots fan I don't think to really see that. Walter says John what do you think of John that is common during the fourth quarter when he couldn't and then nothing. While he got a right in the body of email it cost. You gotta -- the body you email pal rather than on the subject line because the of England runs out of space. And I don't get it. I don't know of any idea what he's -- here it is. During the fourth quarter when he couldn't understand why there was no hurry up offer. Offense offense okay. In the beginning of the fourth quarter okay. Well. I didn't hear man's comments directly. But that was criticizing. Why the Patriots weren't playing hurry up. In the fourth quarter when it was still you know I guess a game at that stage although within the game is pretty much over. Maybe they also decided that they needed to see some other things that the game was lost. Be hard for me believe that the Patriots actually gave up on anything. But it would appear that that would certainly be the case. Maybe -- is had a they need to she's in -- certain things out of the offense and Delaware -- going to learn -- the -- in in game situations chemical pre season thing you know nauert about the game of the score or about in certain things well you know now I -- play to win came against cal now."
[56:39]" Games count now."
[56:42]" I will you know I don't know why you didn't go Korea. I I'd I can't I wish I could be a little bit more than direct response because I have the sound down on the TV. Iowa was watching it over at a -- house and and we -- bitching and moaning about what we were watching and so we didn't really have a whole lot of the sound up. On the night -- can't directly comment on that but. If from close I don't have an answer other than to say. You know I can scratch my head as well I had not working here wanna do little no huddle. Wanna little Korea why not something to keep San Diego's defense back on as he. Anything to get half the depth a quarter of a step advantage over those defensive back who looked like they you know. Or they look like that they were they they look like they look like gloves on top of the Patriots receivers. That's how well they play the Patriots receivers on Sunday night. That was wrong they did a good job. Any of the game planned well. San Diego game plan very well. And Patriots game plan poorly. And putting it mildly. [1:09:17]" And deal with them. A lot of issues that I think the Patriots are also dealing with the addition to the fact that you know we're got some people. You know haven't do now play in key positions that just frankly aren't used to play both positions at least which would be quarterback in New England though there are some similarities there. I'm just asking a general -- mark. What are your impressions over all the league this year and are you also of the opinion like so many seemed to be the cover the NFL regular basis that -- just doesn't seem to be. [1:09:53]" Well this good question are -- a lot of TV shows that you would generally thought to but the courts are produced organized so right now we saw the Giants go to right side to the Cleveland Browns. [1:11:04]" Yeah now I just. You know to me that they'd take it surely adds to the surprise it's certainly spans and he keeps everybody. You know somewhat in home. In two what is going on the same time. I think we've seen them. And good football and in some really bad football and I don't know how much the game studied -- you caught. Against San Diego but you on New England I'd just some flat out bad football they didn't named that didn't even need to -- And even eat meat when he -- that I mean he didn't have to be played like there were easily correct double things that just -- correct double. I don't think that were that much ahead of the -- in -- I think were probably right on the pace that we were always a couple of years ago -- we seem to regard to a lot of bad injury so I don't think that's the problem. I have a hard time putting my finger on just one -- two things in May -- just answered a question that it's a lot of different."
[1:12:01]" You know what you. But it can -- in. Which the league and yeah. Be synonymous with mediocrity and securities -- So. It's the top of the top. To contact them but that's. You know at least two teams are supposed to do to -- like I mentioned intimacy -- the at this point which I doubt that. Washington as well so it seems to be exhausted. This equipment. In. There. That. Much on. Stomach and note and you look at. The Patriots would. Have thought. This is really weakness that team. Chance about it we. Injury that. Could ever in the courts and equipment that's out there right now that you. They want and here goes to become a situation. That he's better than the other."
[1:13:22]" Yeah that's exactly what I think mark Johnson. Will cover the Broncos for KOA radio and -- joining your play book. -- so you know let let's deal little bit more specifically with the Broncos have to because. Here's an opportunity I think for both teams it devers getting ready to put out one last -- ever before they finally get their bye week. The Patriots have gone there's pages need to do something. Because whatever they did last week certainly didn't work and some will undoubtedly blame it on the fact that -- been two weeks out -- I don't happen to think that that. Billy was a factor although the proof is going to be in the putting as opposed. -- as though they're going to be looking to get back on track here. I I I have read comments from fans a couple of columnists. That. The Broncos kind of felt like -- were more at fault for losing against Jacksonville. Then it was Jacksonville actually going out and winning the game number one do you agree with that number two if so how to they repair that."
[1:14:19]" Well I don't -- certain weaker. There are extremity is typical fan that I would -- brought -- somebody. Here the ballot so regretted that bad or opening night and by. What would you watch that I'd -- about it and the throw to Mike Shanahan used last week it regards your sort of matchup he -- Jacksonville manhandled books that was killer. So you can do that there were certainly shape Tibet again this this second week in -- right now -- the most physical team they've they've -- it's. They've made the plays. That Marshall and that is an extra start on the back it was fabulous and he's a position it's. That was that was being made about projects either that short sided -- that -- and -- In any team would you lose again trucks and as we discuss dislike Vegas and that it has had to settle -- beat the -- Johan project as well and beat. The Broncos and so I don't double. That can't get the job that he's got a bit nervous. A couple of questionable call late in games. That -- but it rejects that and that's inevitably got here and got established. It. I've seen a bad. As -- this season because of -- because of hockey state. In Atlanta got a -- work as a government that would let. Us as a team -- beat him saying it was a bit -- against district has. That probably even out so that production at a ever -- to actually called. That was supposed to I don't buy it that Jacksonville beat -- is that we can actually going to lose yeah."
[1:16:01]" I was about that all things being equal and and that's actually like an open up that anymore to be Ozzie as a you know what I think this is I think this just nature kind of even -- things. A eager to get it's we've we've been very fortunate here been very fortunate here you know in the not too far a distant past and sometimes you know things just aren't going to go your weight can't go your way all the time."
[1:16:23]" And it got to -- this week though there was they're very -- Aurora with pass interference call on the brought this on parliament Corey. The the series beforehand there was -- should've been called the it is clearly showed that it first ever called it. I don't Shannon service which he's going to go to bed it was not complaining about this that well. Nobody -- so called every single day. That could do it will be let it affect the game and maybe sometimes at Augusta you know sometimes regular graduate so you can't complain about those guys are all those opportunities -- this -- to win football games. Throughout the course of the season. In their lives -- so it was a one guy that I thought kind of stick that was -- conversation but. They introduce standing -- will be cult."
[1:17:06]" Yeah by the way about Shanahan I loved when he stepped up and took a little -- you know a veiled shot Adele Davis. You know -- I I have to admit I got a nice. Nice long chuckle out of that one just because of the whole. You know thing that's going on in Oakland affect the obviously coach there and you know I just the idea that the one thing that I've actually always liked about Shanahan and he's taken -- like every head coach does eventually anyway but I I will say this he's been fairly consistent enough. It's pretty hard to argue overall with his with his end result."
[1:17:37]" Well no doubt about it and then by the -- in regards spelled Davis Reuters -- personal lost between budged ever ever do do it like when he gets an opportunity -- Barbara -- is no doubt about what. There have been a lot of coaches college imprisoned him go at Christmas. But you appreciate it Mike -- and Russia and in control like static charger that he is in control of the franchise. Make decisions. I with the addition. Side but he also was the guy that would prevent steps. That was also appreciate what you have in that regard. In. Addition some honesty about it. He's a guy that really steps that are about -- our -- that way."
[1:18:26]" Sure absolutely. Market the focal point this football team obviously has to be start with with -- color because of the position that he plays. And I know that there are some fans out here that don't know a lot about Denver on the fact that you know."
[1:18:47]" Well he meant shaving another wedge to about what happened was there was a conversation any sudden -- tongue in cheek. About something rest him who's got the stronger arm. -- at this stage of the Detroit probably John Elway when he was you know it was brought that about -- so let you know kind of target shooter with a slight mistakes. There was no doubt I've got -- to -- that it did. Now what I was asked about it actually a lot of I think maybe -- Belichick probably don't have a stronger -- But I had you know but I always responds well so it was probably a good joke but I could between those -- And he might be right there get a -- on -- got a better assessment of that but I live but. Jealousy -- seriously that that covers almost recruit majority that would ultimately target our daughters. And now. I don't think at this -- it was better than what -- always -- He's got an adequate backbone of John Elway who knows that this statement -- I worked Sergio covers the weapons to do -- that the Detroit private probably John Elway -- So it was it was interesting the district came out of it was so -- that the conversation was about -- distraught over the bridge 25 point. Sixers know it was not a good overall quarterback. That's that they should. I didn't footage -- coverage going to be a very very. Critical and maybe the Broncos go to Super -- support group this. So that I -- Get -- we didn't know -- dodged -- and I was I was skeptical world. You can have bad that it factor that. We always discard that -- eighties those kind of guys have another shall we saw this first couple of series and I believe we have start earlier -- They want that you see them well. He's got -- tiger that leadership -- always guys the ability to make that you don't think a guy can make -- so. I think -- bright future they're waiting for somebody would like number seven in the bedroom Brunell and tied it appears right now what the title well. They're going to confront other got a guy that that -- about your -- little court where prologue Avalanche."
[1:20:48]" The focal point I think defensively for a lot of people has to be Champ Bailey and I guess. From what I can gather here from based on what I I've read of the of the Broncos is that. Teams are kind of going away from him now is that just respect for Champ Bailey or are they looking at another area in the team thinking -- and we can win this way."
[1:21:06]" Well have a good got a little bit better there and enjoy their life has had success in the NFL and a quarter. I would champ is still playing such a high level it and we don't want this series and yeah remedy chances over there so they are going away from real clicking -- revive him aside and why don't give up some big plays street so I think a little -- well it's. This you know Champ Bailey you're probably got -- so special prepare -- him -- teams make clothes. On the other -- got a -- quiet but he got a couple of -- out there that they don't have -- this series as well. Other about the -- best -- bishop like they're like 26. 27 or something like inevitability of successes so it's another great respect for Champ Bailey and number two maybe not as much respect is. The good every other so -- doesn't secondaries."
[1:21:55]" That's a good question that might be how does Denver outbid the Broncos tried to either deep and to perhaps even four teams. To have to look at Bailey a little bit more. Yeah. Yeah. I doubt they -- would you we'd all like to be able to do that fact that it could we get on the waiting list for Jim -- because frankly didn't get the papers could use one."
[1:22:19]" Divorced which was it was a it was a bad seat open an event that hasn't worked out there. Which -- just sit there and that I have absolutely spots that he that he's still. That -- would supply side about it but it push -- badly about human and it hasn't worked at this point because that is such and out of those pressures and adjustments because of to everybody has done has not going to be other side. -- stepped on against. You know -- passing yards. Yeah this that the other good your defensively. And the Broncos and other Mike Shanahan is it when they've had success 97 when the little holes that have that higher power and it'd be this was juiced and -- problem is. You can't ever be such like in the bottom of the got to admit you know 1415 and eighteen wage. So at a minimum there. And then you you can play that -- dependent you do that without our offense is about a five defenses you can ask for everybody every single week that that's -- the --"
[1:23:22]" You know I -- you know that's a that's actually pretty much dead on now I you know have you been able to and I'm sure you guys probably talked about it a lot. But if you've been able to put your finger on one or two with things that they don't that the defense the doctor Robert Stevens need to do in order to be a better defensive unit or is the talent. Just not there."
[1:23:41]" Well that that's going to hell are severe. I don't think they're going to play makers sought to have great Bailey obviously. Did you Williams used to it all pro level guys you know I didn't -- so what and so -- make it out there outside event. They've got guys out there -- You know let Webster's final linebacker Boss Bailey -- athletic he's supply linebacker. All -- at this point is gratifying safety back there. You gotta -- you look at the systems that Robert produced good guys in. You got other guys but you gotta have their makers out period that got Iverson makers met some of -- that are out there make those big plays of again that got to but I I think Barbara and other Internet and of course -- a -- attitude. Let. It is but -- pedestrian got a guys out there whether that's the most this year."
[1:24:28]" How's the team and I realize it's early in. Probably don't practice till tomorrow like we don't put the health wise where is this team stack up right now."
[1:24:36]" Well I definitely opposite sides holy (%expletive) we're probably not industry here that that you guys Sosa moderate not go to the gory shoot he's become. The main target so -- toward the start imposition -- out. Probably not going to see him. We're waiting foreword by tomorrow -- have a stroke which he got a concussion last week in Jacksonville. -- really got a lot of -- a -- really. It's seen -- particularly the -- last few weeks. That was really the mortgage it was got to wait Q are -- up. Everywhere we suspect that he'll be back about a guy he's got a band whose lead sliced played him in -- have. We expect him to be back he was really didn't have decisions that we saw -- particularly backed out there. Those have been the remaining guys on the opposite side that -- they're going to be concerned about so -- status of talent out there offensively. Then he has -- very -- ridiculous stopper produced up ever have again so the numbers early -- that's -- a huge -- extensively you know but interests like. Both Jarvis Moss and Tim Crowder. Throughout -- a couple of years ago have been in almost every game but I don't -- that would put it that brought up and try to get a pass or shot at getting pressure on opposing group that's been able to do what you. It's good topic of yours ago appear to be brought to this point dot is that that I didn't much you actually are out of have been ineffective so fortunate -- definitely -- injured and about as well they debate about -- about the fact that mr."
[1:25:58]" Interest and our before then we we can get your thoughts in a Monday night I active give at least a little bit of a shot out to a former longhorn who will I had is that it actually some pretty good pretty good start through his book. Pro career and -- young. Who know you know -- a lot of ways and I'm not trying to you know compare him to you know guy like Priest -- but you know he was an undrafted running back coming out of Texas and -- a fairly integral part of what you guys -- try to do on offense."
[1:26:25]" He really has been other there was a guy that I that I -- forgot to mention it is important that we -- that he was picked up a little bit but expect to see him back about it -- Well that would probably going to get this started there are physical they are your your -- arsenal are going to -- that the -- as the toughest test policies he's got a deposition expect. To see him -- W August it and vice. I think compliments. To that about he had his -- sort of being the number one guy. I don't want quick bunkers if I don't see him that went like this were your hear what you would have talked about solely on in that regard they never -- That guy -- there would have been one guy's really rely upon opera you're really sense. But couldn't push it illustrated chip but it -- got to know the count and be back legitimately get out and every -- and rebel but. He won't be that guy I don't think it's going to have reportedly all the third you know about got a guy but he has been a nice compliment on the opposite side. Well we're about discipline and -- really got good speed runs hard you know not terribly -- bring at a guy like. Travis Henry previous about Michael that we got to be more with the battering -- what you will. But yet he has -- I already got directions and it made it clear that particular of their sometimes it. Street did you running backs and you know make it about -- last few years -- you -- it was about -- who is that -- health problems like you've been able to do."
[1:27:47]" Right I what do you think that about Monday gorillas like it's a long way away in -- in reality it is. But the fact remains is that Denver on dollar would love to be able to go into their off week and an uptick. Other foreign to with a continue to do well you know holed up one game lead over San Diego in the west want to try to keep as much distance between them. And the Chargers -- the Patriots obviously going to have to scratch and call little but I think on Monday."
[1:28:10]" Well I think so too you know it's it's -- interrogate him -- standpoint of both of these teams have got all your warts and what -- liabilities and you know for the brought the brought his roster until the football just simply have not done that accurately which that they they probably haven't put the ball on the ground to but -- sides. They've got to stick to running game we -- what part of that and especially when they got to continue to do that. And defensively. They got a step given up the big -- so Maurice Jones Drew Bledsoe won the distance that they've got to stop giving up big plays. And be better tackling team and they do some of those things against redolent. Oh god that they might have some success they're oh that battle that's the most talked about this week you know other. You know -- Eric has been projected some success -- Despite the fact pitcher have been a double to French national west went by so is the National Football League what if there have been some -- everybody got a good. Good chance to go to -- and I would about it they -- pretty well there have been. I was hard put civic while a little went."
[1:29:10]" Mark -- appreciate the visit this afternoon it's greatly appreciated greatest big with the again out what you -- travel on this --"
[1:29:20]" Somebody's going to hold on the -- Well -- could talk to -- I'll do it again and thank you. You -- that job again the sports -- 108 radio which is the station of record for the Denver Broncos in Denver Colorado does and with the Syrians and play book in with that also bring in -- little boy -- record for Patriots today you bet John don't Vila real great great great itself. What are your thoughts already on on the on Denver for for me Monday -- seems like you know agents away and it -- it Monday night game difference between a Sunday afternoon Monday night in pretty big but on debt -- team that gore. Points while Brandon operating Marshall. Is mean to Jay Cutler to Brandon Marshall. Is emerging as one the year I think that yeah. And based on what we saw the Chargers passing game -- today. You shudder to think one in my field you again the the Patriots secondary the way they've been right now and a on you know I think I think this is an opportunity. You know that the Patriots offense is pretty good against Francisco on you know not great the other day -- and -- your beef we before that. On this could be an opportunity for them. At home at that moment month. At home I get near the lower rated the -- start to make things and need an -- when you combine that game in St. Louis the following week need to get into rhythm for the first time it happened had. I'm a good stretch. A couple of the games even those games they were the some -- On I think this might be you know opportunity presented offensively to light techniques and things happen but you've got to worry. Boy via the worry about the Patriots the -- that -- most -- program talking about -- guys like Matt -- the least of your worries -- yeah actually comparatively speaking. Was could become a the guys -- yeah. It was it was that I I just you know I can't imagine how difficult the triple most of them well. I'm sure it was rough eyes you -- for them and a lot of times -- cross country trip when Lou get your beat anyways and not like you're you know you're over -- maybe -- locker room. On dead in the locker really when you can tell whether you want to -- it right. In the locker room emotions are still there at the adrenaline still there by the time they get on the plane I think win or lose it's kinda. You know -- more -- at home but. On -- really wasn't a a portion of the game or elements of the team that you took away from that need the other secret. And you say you know what I'm not worried about that that that position that element of the team and it really wasn't. On an you know as a team that is also sort of you know it's different team in the 2000 what do you make them on."
[1:32:03]" I look at -- and is being considerably better than two and three go on and because they do lose those two games that all the the last minute and and I made. But last week Bryan and I said earlier today that you know this team it was a -- one -- had a legitimate you know claimed a five and hope. Because they lost that Miami game seventeen to ten. Right -- I mean that he was probably a heck of a lot better. -- two -- three record would -- go one -- even with their own -- injury problems -- less -- less -- Antonio -- Shawn -- coming -- Chris -- as well I was really impressed with San -- but -- played very well."
[1:32:39]" And game plan wise I mean you know goal right after what you they -- pinpointed the Patriots secondary the and we don't as secondary and the went after play and want you know what they admitted as much after the game and you know what. That was what they knew they could exploit they figured they could exploit. The -- and also don't under the ice advantage as well it wasn't just that they felt they could and I exploit some weak corner that size advantage they had you know David increasingly confident quarterback. On in Vincent Jackson mentioned grant Marshall and Jackson emerging as a as a result. Was that we -- that we talk a little bit about -- last week that he would be a key and in a game boy it was UT you go. You go down the field on you know go after Deltha O'Neal early it works why not keep it up and he had you know. They had 48 yard 484950. Yard pass play that game. And any other network and archer Morton and done you know the the quarterbacks were no match for them on over the middle balm not enough not a fight in the defense -- we didn't have 13 down conversion over nine over four yards over four yards and 13 down conversion and it. And and the Patriots defense -- Philip Rivers which is a problem as well that that's. A recurring problem getting. Quarterback that's been a problem and on you know -- this Patriots team when they're kind. They're not -- do much that it is no evidence yet -- too much when they're when they're playing behind from behind me again against Francisco their out of -- it used to have nothing 147 but. You know getting down seventeen to three at halftime in every. Completely deflated by that drive of the second half no doubt they were no doubt that ended the game fire up the plane ride that -- that ended the game right there mom and and you don't even if date. Not I mean not getting into the end zone there was a killer. But even then you say okay. The Chargers have the ball the one yard line -- got to go to 99 yards right here's an opportunity for the deep and you hold them -- an infield was vision try to get -- if you get each infield position down by two touchdowns certainly a game right not getting in there and allow them to quickly and 99 yards. You know that'd -- game right there Rodney Harrison that is much Richard Seymour as much they knew it at that point out there was going to be much and I guess the thing that that bothers me a little bit is the fact that you know this team seems to know. Whether problem areas are and yet they can't do anything about it. Well it's a question of do they have the horses I mean a guy you know who I have to -- deadline yet to rely on other people that is the trade deadline just one minute Tuesday's moment to win and politics earlier today there's less than 1% chance that -- joint thing though that's not going to be solution most likely on. You know every now and -- you can get a guy out the scrap -- but later on I mean a lot solution I know. I don't think he's going to be much better actually guy who you know we don't necessarily for being shaped you -- public could sign him if he comes in -- in a solution cornerback. I personally don't think -- where's the help idle idle certainly -- much worse than Deltha O'Neal what we all the other night I my my my my simple the my equation for that is let's -- the young -- Which they which you know Terrence -- got by far his most playing time Bob -- didn't show much but. Oh you're a rookie cornerback and let it go as high profile offense and I you know you know didn't -- the chance you're not going to get any better than that from O'Neal there's no point play in the right exactly and and you wonder these shades of you know when it's dark. On -- now back in 2005 cut in season now the difference between art and O'Neal is O'Neal came in on September 1 when a guy comes in on September 1 you've got a lower your expectations because you know. He just cut him and all that -- is a guy with the most high profile acquisition in need that off -- On trade for right after the Super Bowl it was a big deal and you have to utter disappointment. With O'Neal it's almost like -- what could expectation level really been on with a guy comes that we like and we -- when he starts though. You know would be on to -- at the last for too long but if he doesn't last -- tired at the cornerback Ellis Hobbs. Lewis Sanders and the two rookies will -- And you know it's not great quality. It's not great depth. Not -- experience I mean that you're struggling right buried -- if you -- you don't. Retain Deltha O'Neal well you know here's."
[1:36:56]" I you know I think if if that's what you're going to get by playing someone like O'Neal in the out of the young guys learn. Realize that -- gonna get burned from time to time. In the try to re evaluate maybe try to beef up the position in the off season again because now usually identified need. But the thing that troubles me the most is this was a position that was identified as indeed in the off season which is what you what you draft Wheatley and -- in and and she's still of this. You know as a potential trouble spot plus I think we realized that we got work to do within the line backing core yes."
[1:37:27]" They do and and Indians camping area is you know the problems at linebacker injury related. I mean to -- that's a position where you when you looked on paper they've got the stars. And it got the depth I mean they've got you know they've got a few guys who were contributing on and the entire front and -- in the net that's where you figured that ranked. Should be and is -- it yet I haven't felt that there haven't exactly. Did you technique that you really need. Does not seem -- is who played better last -- our -- wise actual on the left coast the Tedy taking apart D well well I can tell you for sure why you know we actually caught -- on Sunday -- running. -- an interview with him on the I Patriots that I I great -- I could -- an early like you're still you're always good enough to ask it would on the show towards the end but we have a little while one with with with Alley and for short. The reason why he was around during training camp in after the point. Is he hurt it surgery on and he'd he'd really that he just now getting it is healthy enough to play. I wouldn't rule that out. -- and and here's -- it's out healthy. If you brought him in training camp to think you'd get another nineteen healthy games and is -- this is the guy who before he came here in 6. Head injury or no in -- X he had injury problems with Miami Heat getting up they're obviously he can he'll play. I'm I think he'd be a solid addition I don't know yeah is. You know the difference maker in this team the 500 -- going to the Super Bowl but -- what. You get the sense that he wants to play you get the sense that they'll bring it I don't know he jokes about surfing all the time about not doubting net but I think he's like I think he has football villainy in in his mind that -- brought prepare for that he said I don't expect a phone call that but. He's ready at that phone call -- so on you know when you replace what role will be plate. Are are too talented -- right now you they'll figure before you play the game will be November probably and even if you sign right now he got a temper your expectations but. I don't think that the guys can rule out I don't think it's ignite the -- While -- little breaking news here sure little Patriots played it right. And by the way that would that a Patriot today but later on exactly right away he doesn't come back and play football he has a dynamite. Restaurant does watch games yeah I'm telling you. Good outlook but will first -- or twice now I would be here on her back they're in the playoffs a couple of years ago. Heavily -- ball he's there all the time he's there Greenspan's. It's a place that had -- cool guy he's got. Lots of memorabilia of his own and other other players creaky knees are really good that you just get the sport apart before that. This is just one of those places where you know athletes' names on the is on is on a restaurant and and it about it. Great -- huge QBs in and you know. On an and I am I'm not a payroll here. But that's a pretty cool place and the fact that he's -- he be around 11 if he's not you know. It's the point football it's pretty cool and Rico and he got -- written you -- each pitcher -- from Robert Kraft dinner on Sunday sort of presented it to impersonate dated yet so that was a neat little line you'll ceremony and you know the backdrop of that is always hey we wish you could have been a bigger -- which could net more. But I you can tell he was he's huge party -- fight to be part of what last year you don't really wasn't getting ranked so."
[1:40:50]" They they're a lot of fans certain respect what he's done for pro football it and certainly respect what he's done and short -- time with the Patriots but. What he's done profitable overall I think that because they have respect for him and because this team might have a need grandmother there are a lot of people look you give more black."
[1:41:05]" And if that's the original question from the email or would have better years and our Bruschi on you. -- it's close I mean I don't close it out but but it might well be now in my will be -- but you don't you know really he -- have surgery. And that's why he wasn't you know what I want right that's why it wasn't really yea wow why haven't they brought him and why they brought him what are they waiting for he wasn't healthy enough and it a guy like Al. You know if he's not healthy enough at the beginning training camp. Why wait he did say the Patriots would be the only team."
[1:41:33]" I that comes up -- this -- as high. I know there's a lot of problems on the team but I did ignore Richard Seymour comments from Brady Spurs went down but I do keep hearing the same comment over and over from -- He is being announced brought up on the sideline Richard Seymour keeps saying that this team has always won with the fans no matter who is under under. He did not win any rings -- orders -- in all the defense problems were hidden by the offense last year really bothers me that he says that. -- off in the middle on the offensive line. And old at safety we need to pick up some good cover corner Lito Sheppard is why I have in mind do you think the injury the Tank Williams was bigger than we think."
[1:42:14]" While that's an interesting one and names are scared me but they had -- they want -- a few other odd corners throughout the defensive backs this season. -- why why can't think of them are right now but they brought in some guys -- him last after drinking a it is an interesting one because of of Fernando Bryant ran right exact and at a price. Williams is is it that the very interesting point and because of it was intriguing to think about the with the role he was going to play. Where those hybrid. Linebackers safeties and you know you figure. For him a game like Sunday night and Antonio Gates that would have been eight Tank Williams game on you figure you know again -- What do you know Dallas Clark plays against Indianapolis those days that would of anything -- game he's a little younger and in eighty faster than Rodney Harrison and -- that eighty could have made an impact. On its a great point and and they definitely had an intriguing plans for Williams I think there's no doubt about it so. -- again. With the presence of Hank Williams on the field have limited what Ronnie Brown was able to do against Miami. Little bit on the eight you -- you would have had a better read on -- on that touchdown you know what it would be a difference between winning and losing against whom no heart to tell but. I just feel like both of the two losses that they had. Have been bigger than any one place -- I don't think you could say well if this player was healthy or this player played better. -- it was bigger than. I wouldn't that would totally agree. By the way. The question what the questions they that I had they was if you could be with trading deadline coming up in another an eleven -- there was one player you could cherry pick promote team that would make the Patriots better right now. Who which he'll get. In a couple of people available at Lito Sheppard well that's -- one and the other one and I heard is is the the Oakland cornerback -- on the someone -- it and I think he's in franchise history -- a franchise tagged out right now I'm which means that he's got a hefty salary this year. On what do somewhere in the ten million while I had to make. Is it. Could keep one of those guys that the second years of franchise -- and -- increase whatever it is now he's under the franchise that we've got a fairly hefty salary this year. On -- amp -- and you know I can't I can't recall -- On eighteen of signed a franchise to -- and signed a contract with the Oakland. I can't remember but obviously Oakland is a team that you know I don't I don't think -- Attached you know really anyone on. So he'd be an interest in one -- young emerging quarterbacks were in that in outclassed and and people as as -- On quarterback is the position. And I think Sheppard is is a guy and lead and and and wise another guy in that -- Edwards not let these guys -- the clock is ticking down and Belichick. Earlier today didn't seem too confident that they'd be they'd be doing -- thing that they be doing anything rarely rarely does any team on me last year member Chris Chambers was -- that tree now was -- dated actress girl you know Miami dump him off to watch the San Diego. And you know -- No quarterback would be positioned to look at if you can cherry pick someone you know and and those you don't a couple of guys."
[1:45:20]" Jack has I've been one of the guys who has been backing up Matt Cassel you can't blame him for everything however however. Watching this game on Sunday night maybe it was the camera angles maybe my eyes have just been opened borders on the ball all support Matt bandwagon. I watched as time after time he didn't he open receivers time after time he took -- snap quickly threw the ball way time after time he looked for a place for himself to run rather than find an open man. I'm so sure that I saw that way I stumbled on the ball again a little bit longer than you should've actually comparing him to Philip Rivers Rivers has a very quick release and knew exactly where his receivers were going to be he anticipated. Very well and the receivers knew where to go get the ball. We don't till we don't have the Patriots don't have that kind of chemistry between Cassel and the receiving corps."
[1:46:08]" There's no question and you know I think it it. -- there's a combination of the the offensive line -- receivers getting open and castles -- decision making. I'm I put in this game a little more Cassell I felt on Sundays -- and some of the -- he made. And you know he's. He's going to go through -- his lumps and bumps in the question is have we seen enough. On but it didn't have enough out of and to say well you know what each of these situations where he you know -- it hasn't done well is a situation you can -- from. Well I don't know I mean you know and in the week after week where you know that the actor piling up and you know Brady act so few times last year you got some of the him or personnel. Aren't you gotta wonder. On you know his decision making improving is his ability -- lewd -- improving. On haven't seen it kind of that yet but. -- He he's got to take is -- he's going to take his lumps in an in this particular case I think it was more -- More on him then the the office of -- but you know on every case is different you know. Are hard to tell right now but he's got to do better job with an apple lost."
[1:47:13]" Tackles says look I'm not a blind that I can't see that everyone is playing like garbage they are but the team takes its cues. From the quarterback the quarterback has nothing to tell the team. He can't lead this team he doesn't inspire than he does that motivate them. -- because the deal looks so bad right now but the old line did look very good. And castle like it or not has been thrown into a fire that he cannot manage and I actually think that is a key phrase right there. Cassell has been thrown into a situation that may be unmanageable for him."
[1:47:45]" Well outs they want. I don't know it's unmanageable on it's a tough it's a very tough situation for jumping through arm but. I I felt that in the two games where where in the city game when you jump right in on and you'll struggle very early but then got off the ground with the -- and Randy Moss completion news buried in his end zone. On and then again for sisco when he completed that pats beat the -- Is it too simplistic to say that. Trying to establish. Get the ball -- the -- hands in the first series of the game I feel like I feel like it gives him a -- next half of the different guys after they do that. In May try it in this game you remember the play on down the right sideline where mark it's like Lasorda was trying to record -- into the thinking that the ball wasn't there yet because he kinda. Released his arm yeah it differently. And I just feel like it in the 82 simple maybe not I feel like if if if need be they completed that play that. Asked and got into the end zone that tackles a bit of the different I get some adrenaline going he gets it feels good about -- You know what we've gotten -- the ball you -- even though he's feeling a little bit gratuity on -- that you don't -- demon came out he feel a little bit of pressure maybe you're from Cassell from himself or is the -- whatever. You know he's feeling a little bit of pressure to get -- involving get him involved early -- it takes a little bit of the pressure off him and take some weight off him when he can find. -- with the ball they tried it again they try to get him to score early. And they -- on that one time and they went on and had a decent offense today tried -- this game failed. Trouble I don't know maybe I like the game plan like the idea of fining him I'd -- and you know lost in the Thursday the Moslem a couple of balls that. He could have gotten I think kind of get through and I'm not and it's all on Cassell to get off the ball at all one loss to nature he gets the ball and has been a 5050 proposition I -- so far. On and like I said earlier against Denver and the that the struggles that they've had defensively needed another one of those opportunities almost do what Philip Rivers did the other day. First play of the game find my -- he gets double teamed all the time we know that you he would Denver's plane you try to get on the ball try it. If it works I feel like Cassell is it different guys after that worked on the games and you know. It simple it's it's it it -- too simple for me to sit here and they get mark the ball early because the fans are ethnic in that -- but you know maybe that's one."
[1:50:10]" John as well here's what I observed we were getting manhandled we came out on the 3 -- down the field and couldn't score -- on the I never expected they quit. You can see -- face is their play and obviously the results have broke my heart it is team give up. Okay the nit -- now let me say none of these would've won the game just things I noticed. Randy Moss dropped catch the ten yard line caught that ball got knocked away and it bounced out of bounds the -- been a catcher and a fumble why did nobody challenge. Ellis Hobbs I think it was gates he was covering Hobbs gets the the bead on the ball turned to catch it engage wrapped his arm around Hobbs -- Blinding him on the catch no call and happened like mature guy that one of the four attempts to get on the insult one play it was an open -- or -- over the goal line."
[1:50:56]" Cassell on the role rocket from three yards and two low three yards out that you throw that too low. If that was the thought anymore was open yeah yeah exactly plus and I made the common in the opening our Brian in the Jamal Williams. And taking. -- was one of the more embarrassing plays -- ever seen from Dolphins have -- and long time yet he was totally abused was the old -- the -- call when you play you know flag football in the backyard with Big Brother you know no. Higher you know line. And he got DC that's exactly what happened until the -- player."
[1:51:29]" Yeah one of the best defensive tackles in the game going up against L a one of the one of the better I matters and we know got the better and that matchup and I -- epitomized. On the event that it sort of itemize -- in your right and it it epitomized the you know the intensity of the game real. It kind of epitomize the intensity of the game in the momentum and all that and got. Boy they got he'd. The other better than."
[1:51:53]" What and John says -- needs to figure out a way to lead the team or step out of the way I'm not buying him blaming him for everything. Foreign front but he's the focal point in it doesn't look as though anyone listens to him. I can't disagree with them. And I think the perfect example -- you kind of alluded to does well but talk to the guys in the locker room after the game because you were there in -- They all agreed that after that drive took place in the 88 yarder the other way that -- gave up. I don't know of this team give up somebody is the focal point yeah it is interesting in juniors at the defensive players were throwing the offense under the bus but they did say that. You know not getting into the until there was a crusher an -- other. That was true that was crushed -- it -- that he and his performance or shouldn't it affected the -- effort. And I don't think -- I don't I'm not here and it affected their effort but the -- of players some of the key guys in the day. That that was the key -- not getting into the end zone there was it was a crusher on it was I don't think -- how you could say otherwise but on -- you know. It is still a seventeen to three games and early in the third quarter no reason to give up on it. I'm I don't think they gave up and I find that hard to believe but mom you -- that they did stated that was a there was a what. While the Patriots then willow work this -- get back to work tomorrow here at Gillette Stadium in fact the preparing for the Denver Broncos. Which is Monday Night Football next Monday on ESPN which. We'll deal with in more detail tomorrow and Thursday here in side's play book puts a it quick thoughts about the the match of the with the Broncos are."
[1:53:29]" I just think that like that it's an opportunity. That the Patriots the I better use that extra -- they had before Monday night because they've got a tough test. On and coming off that the way to play get a game and you know I I just think it's going to be tough matchup for the quarterback you know as -- and Royals and the guy who stepped up and and it -- your -- tiger earlier than the running game you're reading your right you might not know these guys -- some of these guys but they've produced Jay -- come into his own and but on the other on the other -- I really didn't think that there is an opportunity here for the Patriots and -- You get into some -- did to a rhythm and I feel like -- the -- Against Denver and St. Louis and they can do it again for the going to do it against navy then when we -- two weeks from now they haven't gotten it done after -- big changes but. Com you know it's it's it's it's catch and shoot out possibilities it's funny Monday Night Football I feel like -- you know I'll shoot outs and all that I think this is this could be one of them. You know hopefully you know I think the team hopes to get -- and good crowd support in the game. You know Monday nighter prime time and -- at home a month. On an opportunity I think -- that to get on on track a little bit because after this Denver St. Louis stretch get Indy. On you got another west coast swing coming up after that you get into some -- you don't -- he's an AFC -- games and it -- after the -- game where if it is -- Buffalo right into today's three -- if -- three and forty -- they host Buffalo they host the Jets they go to Miami right now all in the month of November right into -- to -- that's going to be in the corporate stretch relief for the entire division I -- these next two games. Are are critical these they can set the table thinking get the team on a roll that's going to get on a roll now would be the time our role at home against two teams that -- that are beautiful and that the offense -- And again tonight on Patriots today we got -- some really good doctors actually interesting afternoon they are they out of our restaurants we we hear from him it's pretty go talk a little Laurence Maroney to -- in the spotlight not the right reasons so we we talk about him and and a few other you are there other items as well as we EI. As we yeah I did that to what our previous games -- thing below good evening good to see you -- you -- recovered now from you like it usually you know it it was it was good to have. I'd jetlag and right -- all kind of -- on one night you know what I mean you're you're going to have screwed up up body clock wisely puzzled at all get audited. You know -- and get the."
[1:55:51]" Don't aren't very good was he here on the rain actually this week I you bet you into the hall is coming up next here on Patriots talk on radio we think 3 play. One is that what is it all the is that tomorrow."
[1:56:03]" All they can't make it today -- replay is next okay. Ron Jaworski -- is going to be with a tomorrow from Monday Night Football. To -- you know mania. Don't let anybody don't let anybody. Tell you otherwise I don't look at it like that give you trouble but you what the main act in my opinion the jury not a -- that aren't as this thing goes to gender. I owed Ron Joe laws Jaworski Ron jaws Jaworski will be -- the play -- with you to more if of course you're here and at times and that's channel when."
