Play from 0:40[0:40]" Walking inside the playbook or Thursday on Patriots dot com radio and we're ready to go. Can we kicked him off yet on Monday night at the Denver Broncos Monday night here at Gillette Stadium it seems like it has been forever and it was to get away actually Fridays Saturday and look for more than anything extra minutes than we now. You know I don't I gotta look you have the right Eric television of course the Patriots football weekly. Joining us as he doesn't Thursday's game and frankly you're absolutely right about that in and I'm glad you brought that up because you know my college -- scheduled -- has been kind of a weird one I've had a lot of the weeknight games you know. Rather than the the the Saturday you know usual -- schedule just because that's what they've decided to nationally put on radio. And so I'd actually head my weekends to watch college football great on Saturdays. And the last couple weeks have been able to watch you know other games in addition to the Patriots on Sunday. And I'm -- the heck out of it perfect and it's unbelievable. Your right we get all they -- to watch football. -- again yeah. Great I -- be just to be home we've been we've been -- you probably missed -- I didn't you guys last week a lot is Amadeus ten days on California there was there was extra."

Play from 1:52[1:52]" Great trip. It was a great triple girl yeah. You know these are you -- on United's side are you -- but he still fight the jet -- little I asked -- my day yesterday he said he it's kind of like -- as -- legs back and -- waking up in the mornings a little harder you like -- straight up at 5 AM or whatever it is yeah that's what it was -- very hard they're better at five million Macedonia. It's if it's not as if that would be back moment yet when they made the schedule. It was it was advantageous -- the Monday night game coming off the street races as you know we got back. Like 7:30. Almost 8 o'clock Monday morning from Dayton. And at the finished at the if the papers -- we got home and duel something. Rating at home. My Monday it was kind of shy and Tuesday off but. Recuperate but. I mean I have no man's season when you do that the that the bi coastal thing here do you -- Do you go into it -- you have take like you know tylenol PM or some of the kitchen at. People that are do you have trouble sleeping I have no trouble sleeping January. -- I can't do something about the emotion of an airplane. And -- trained for that matter as I have to commute sometimes to have to New York and -- to Penn station and I can't sleep on the plane and actually sleep on the -- I don't know why. I can those. But I never really get any sleep in I've had a -- early morning flight lately and still it's -- like you know when -- get to the airport it's like come -- I'm not going to the coffee. I don't even you know -- a call in -- about 7730 in the morning. Because I need to do that -- that's exactly what I need to do. But I can't do -- no problem and I'm tired needlessly where -- That -- them. That's a bonus that's a real bonus I'll have that unfortunately in in. On November when basketball rolls -- but anyway we -- Tom. Thoughts on this team at least. Try to -- itself back up after the debacle last week and you know I heard you guys who do you pick a little while ago and in in frankly. I'm not. Convince I share. Your enthusiasm for the past I'm all I can't believe I'm say in this I'm leaning towards the arts. And and the only reason is is that I need to be shown I have not physically seen. Evidence yet that this team is capable of doing. You know well when it comes the pats -- trying to. I always try to be. Optimistic. As opposed. You know and that's actually line that's -- yeah even when even when your -- you media otherwise I'd. I just have a hard time picking against him. You know especially. The squad they have the last few years and this this Monday night game is going to be tough town because they never ever have it easy with the Broncos. Whether it's here or out in Denver that's always had enough time at the -- that's another reason for my idea conundrum. Right now is the fact that you know traditionally they have a hard time with -- Denver you know dole amendment came here a couple of years ago on them. Was this Sunday or Monday night and on the night but they. You know I'd Javon Walker game when he -- excellent long touchdown yeah that's right it was Adam. But haven't figured out here that was. Gillette data that was the 24 Eckstein Beckham was a 2002. -- non I don't know. Last year our recent was left two years ago. Seventeenth at walker cup walker about it too long to get to Antonia seventy evident -- right that's correct so yeah when you look at the series between the -- that on -- the playoff game you know in 6 that lost the last. Three times they have played or -- him. That lost in 5 invesco field right now they lost to know six regular season in the post 6 playoff. Yeah seven to thirteen of his field that -- right great great -- actually if I didn't cyclical numerical or you -- date -- there but the other lost the last three times they've played. They have lost. The last one. To two times they've played in fact the only two times that Denver has played at Gillette Stadium Denver's one yeah. How about that one opponent that's ever played here twice since July they've opened and I won both times. Yeah I can now you get it now you're beginning to life seal the -- not familiar and yet you're going on we went in there that's that's not a bad way to go. I just. Knowing Belichick teams coming off losses especially bad losses. They typically do well. Mean you -- they got kicked in the teeth by Miami. You know and handed it to sisco no doubt no doubt they had to pick up against -- pretty big -- bill talked about the of the -- played pretty competitively. Except for 45 really big plays which turned the game. What -- against San Diego while they will all the the fulcrum of the game was the people they know the fulcrum of a but but for the most part they knew they were with. There were with the Chargers."

Play from 6:58[6:58]" Not even though -- I never felt completely confident that they were going to jump into the fray and -- seventeen to three at that stage at halftime could've been a lot worse. It should have been probably 1710 at half by my thinking and then course leading going down to the opening drive of the third quarter with a chance to tie it up. But it 173 I felt like it could have been in probably should have been worse stadium -- didn't play great game. In any aspect mean they. That they were competitive that's fine but it -- play great game and play elected in him sisco here's the thing do you want to be competitive you want to be. You know coming contenders here and I mean c'mon we're not used to having just competitive teams here we used kicking peoples that. And so -- regarded ninth and of course I used collective we here but I'm I'm saying that you know this is the perception of the Patriot. And because the Patriots are not doing what they've done in the past you know my friends and and those that you know who covered the league. No matter where they are in this country a lot of the guys that I nobody is -- and such in all that the Patriots pale by compare and it's really it's on her. -- you really should consider each and every season if not each and every game you know a separate entity and while -- but it's hard to do based on the past history especially."

Play from 8:13[8:13]" Yeah but you know it's done that in the Patriots haven't really except for last year the first half of last year. Maybe the first record as -- last year until about the Philadelphia Camden. They were blowing teams out last year. But prior to that even during the the Super -- streaks in in -- trio for. That they were beating teams by field goals by touch down there were blowing people wild. They would they would come down to that at the end of the game so. You know their record -- yet they were you know fourteen into a couple of times but they weren't blowing people out in the seasons they were winning. By smaller margins and and a lot of times at the end of the game that this whole thing about the pitchers -- people I mean don't really happen for a short time last year."

Play from 8:59[8:59]" On you know that they were going to those games they were winning those games -- sure they were -- people out though but they were there were the difference is they were winning -- I guess and then then I guess I'm over generalizing. -- I guess that's again part of the perception. You know they managed to win games that we all thought they should win even though they weren't blowing them out he got to chalk it up to okay they just took your business in the moving all I mean it went three revolt by a combined nine point that's -- That's true and blown anybody who they've gotten blown out in the Super Bowl but the outlook audio. -- interest and well you know I I guess. In don't. Terrible towel on Monday I think I'm still in them you know sort of a shall we Dayton is nothing to do with Missouri in this week I had. -- just send me an email -- his Missoula overtake. Shocked about the river shoot up forego for the US open up about that on ten point win thrilled. -- enough. He -- crappy and he whined and moaned and he's like I can't sleep -- practically cried what do baby boom it's got to. I rural numbers for a living in there was only crime you know a little kid come --"

Play from 10:05[10:05]" Dude. And going to -- I'm not incredibly bright side there's a lot of bright I absolutely. Him but. -- Outside of a -- out realized that lost my train of thought we were talking about."

Play from 10:23[10:23]" Texas over Missouri. Before. I. Actually I'm kind of worried about the game with just like always a let down game yeah yeah well the fortunately fortunately all right it's in Austin. Although a lot of people could David. You know there's even more chance -- home that -- on the road they have to make sure they keep that mental -- thing you know going. And Missouri is very good but I you don't want the winner of this game that quarterback will be the leader in the clubhouse Heisman now. Rhetorical Kuwait should -- Tuesday. I was Texas -- the fifth largest stadium by capacity in. Thought from this because they just enlarged. -- they just added."

Play from 11:04[11:04]" Well when I was in school there it was about 77000. And you know good I stadium but I mean it was you know -- back and Korean war days. Hum. Then they enlarged it to 8182. Right after -- got out of school in the early eighties. And then they've had like two with three mall or additions and just -- last year they closed in every thing. In the north end zone. And that got skyboxes that a double level everywhere now. They added about another 12000. And Akron do there is -- track and took the track out in order to put the -- and and that happened back in the ninety. That was really that was the last addition before the current -- and on with they took the track out on the -- they have their own separate now tracks stadium and only which is unbelievable I mean if you haven't been oh my gosh. It can talk about the -- there's not school a country that is even better than what Texas has but the global capacity now has ninety hoopla. 92000. And they even have get this now this is talking about you know actual money a topic for joining us on longhorns play exactly. They actually have plans in the works to increase of 200000. It. It's the competition among it will do live it did kind of is but yet the fifth largest now in the largest stadium in the southwest. Com. You know I mean -- when Texas a and M talk about rivalries are rumored Texas a and M. When they did their enlargement of Kyle field probably 1015 years ago they increased seating capacity by one seat over memorial. And that. Come on pup -- doubted them Aggies a ice hockey anyway it's. Are it would totally digress now but that's because you got -- talk about the long points. Juror has definitely blame you don't want. Hey I gotta tell the number one English you don't know how long you gonna last for the number one ranking -- and there's been four different number ones this year. Right out and it's an -- and I and I don't expect I don't expect X stay up really don't the schedule is too don't think. And you can ask anybody that knows me. I've had all along there was any problem was an additional ways that I I don't have my hopes of the schedule is too brutal. It on when you say Oklahoma Missouri -- Okie state at tech act and a week. You know that brutal when he consider -- teams from the big twelve south are ranked in the top and then and they shouldn't count -- every series. And I'm not done that and that's ridiculous total. What does that have to do it Monday night I have no idea on the fact it's great experts local college -- make it relevant. Let me ask you question. I'm -- they get a chance to add to add to tell this to. Andy because he asked me the other day we were crossing over before shows that you know what do you think COLT McCoy about it as a potential pro. And I said I hadn't really thought much about it because number one. Before this year that was not on the radar right a number two he said from day one he is committed to playing for years attack. Bomb. He strangely about that right now with a kid that comes huge prize he is a fourth year junior yeah so he would be elegy got a degree in media he would be eligible. I sent an email to couple friends that I know in the business. One of them being milk -- And you know he's as you know he had heard the McCoy is going to come out. But if he did right now he'd say that you know it is especially if he wins the Heisman. He -- you know he'd be a first round pick real -- I personally don't see I don't see right now I'd say based on what we have but you give him now. I sure I'd take a shot at him in the second or third round I think you could certainly he's a first degas. I don't know if he's a first round but it Texas continues to win. He continues to throw it and ungodly 79%. Completion rate which is what he's currently -- as his touchdown interception ratio like eighteen to three. So he continues to do that and Texas wins and oh yeah he wins the Heisman. I think you'd have to he's probably somewhere in the first. In public he's -- top two or three pick doesn't it doesn't he doesn't -- you know. Well here's the thing and the more I think that you know they're can be. Some improvement will always -- Matt Cassel all the conversation actually got started was. You know he was a little plodding. We tournament and boy I'll -- he was a little applauding when he first started out as -- freshman. In all and as a sophomore a little bit better but that he was doing double assault as well though. -- it was old of a problem what he did he worked on his feet. He's got great lateral movement he's got good quickness he's not overly fast although -- or 540 now. But he could just -- in his footwork and when he gets up in the pocket. He's much more balance too much which traded shoulders were square -- rather than an even when he don't want on the run out of the pocket. This is what Jay Cutler I think brings to the table for Monday night there was talk a little bit about -- drawn towards yesterday. I looked and and draw -- why not you know we got to give people regional -- and you don't yeah you don't listen to me listen to the guys would bring on the show that little point right. But I've worked with -- guys and George he's as the Cutler. Is is got a rocket arm I mean you -- almost the trail behind the ball to release and the way that you develop that surely -- want to square. Scored a target if you could square up and hit your target like that you're going to be able to which team. And -- is -- COLT McCoy is he's got the better footwork and so you know I asked George yesterday in particular right what do you give Matt Cassel. Where do you think he could improve. And you know first thing in the first things he mentioned is definitely footwork he but he's got to work on staying in the pocket. And finding that little niche like Brady was so good at that point. -- Brady had -- tends to make his offensive linemen looked good even when there was a missed assignments because Tom had a little little I'd -- or he could that will. Crack in the pocket he could slip into. And then -- released the ball. And Matt hasn't learned how to do that in a lot of that is. Just from having been in -- pocket and having collapsed around you lock anticipating what you exactly do that and plus admittedly -- know things can work on is quicker release he holed a notable way too long we -- know. But he he's enough Ron Jaworski season. Of the next month that Cassel is better than any thing -- that the Patriots could go and get. Out there on the market yes -- idea on that includes Jeff Garcia that certainly includes Jon Kitna. Chris -- anybody else who want to throw in -- and I don't know if on Aaron yes he did get put all the the deal was -- Detroit couldn't traded their put him and I are they in the couldn't trade by the deadline they put him on IR. That's what they did. Surprised that in the picked up. In mildly surprised I'm I'm on the I think too many people can like damaged -- era you know. So you know and I'm terribly surprised not to maybe another shot next -- team but you know I'd bring in Kitna is a great veteran backup. You know -- patrons will be looking for back up next year. You know and they still got to bring along O'Connell not I'm assuming that you know O'Connell as a back -- that -- well technically he has yet and I am assuming that that would be the case again next year is -- going to -- someplace else and when I realized that way -- he's going wrong. But you know if you do -- that you know I mean you gotta bring in a quarterback somewhere I would think one quarter you have O'Connell we have pretty good beach -- as well. For next year in you probably bring in wheels why not bring in a -- He if he can provide that little extra insurance -- you know it's going to take Brady a little while to get back into think yeah. Especially come back from an injury and I end and I used Carson Palmer as a perfect patient. It really took Palmer all of his first -- back to get back to where he won. And even now he's struggling but -- banged up again but understand you don't be shocked next year. If Brady isn't break Pete at the start and too many fans in too many people around the country going to expect Tom Brady to beat Tom Brady. Right from the get do you think. If he's healthy enough at that point and -- more in the coming. Pre season and you were and who Tom Brady I I would reason why not he's got a different somewhere. Right. I think I mean I realize that you realize there's an injury possibility here but I certainly think that he would come on play at least a quarter. And then you you want to balance the rest time between O'Connell and a -- fine that's fine if you indeed think the -- still you know I mean in each each of the four games. -- again like you can eat differently you play a clear blue and then in the R -- and got it back initially I mean in the fourth game you know yeah I realize that but I need to -- back -- pair. You we don't know what we that he -- and only. Until you get a thirty and you throw -- mean there's no reason to believe that he can't be. You know hundred for helping -- next year he's got a lot of time to rehab will know what his work ethic is. So I mean I've been reasonably that he won't be ready to go maybe even by June mini camp in every now yeah. I mean it costs possible it's possible. But I -- again a guy like kitten or if Garcia or someone like dead if they are available. Gosh why not take liars if they can make you team. Especially now that you know that you know the injury has occurred and it could always happen again. Talk about you know under the thing's -- issue what happened that happened in next year."

Play from 20:53[20:53]" You know we -- we're just fortunate. At. This team isn't getting any younger. Well in some aspects it is but he's getting him -- and financial worries me. I think we're seeing -- of this team has some work to do it you know certainly in the secondary but in the line backing core. The team and work to do on the -- line the whole front seven John has been a little bit at this point all the remain good though yeah I agree with that the defensive line overall I know Guzman. Safer than ever there is nobody really got good pressure on Sullivan. And they haven't done what I expected them to do like a lot of other people expect and then there at this point which is Richard Seymour -- have to this country. I think he's got -- that he he signed that extension I think it was in. To hear about three years ago I think it was. Two years it was three years ago was right before his knee injury. And that was. 4. That was 5. You know five or Eric yeah. So if if that's the case then he's like five year extension yet so he's god it's been a two Warriors for Warriors -- almost to the point where it's. Swallow -- You know maybe. I'm I'm just listen I'm -- stuff out there that he's -- right now but. Frankly I think just because. Possible -- well -- only trade but just you know you know the ability to did you know to realize that you know one I think we need to make a move here. I think you know to bring in Mahdi Army you know I don't have a problem with high 1% he's actually played pretty well. Vince Wilfork E can't get enough space eater. But I think if you if you if you really need to make an impact number one I would love to see this team -- the 34. On hand -- go with more pass have a up right pass rushing defense and employee that's funny sick as an Italian name. -- from a college ranks. Brian Iraq ball from tax. Guy's unbelievable. He is actually unbelievable he beat personified and right now he's unbelievable well he should be enough he should be a top -- occupant and in. You mention going to the 43 -- they haven't gone to it is their base but. In the last couple games they have been using usual four down line yeah they went largely with a 425 last week right. Yes that's why we didn't see a lot of Bruschi literally go the couple lineman Jarvis green was that guy until he got hurt and Mike Wright took a lot of media the snaps -- point. Jarvis green was I wasn't thinking obviously he's the X factor is I'd love Lucy Jarvis Green be an every down guy. Well. That's the thing about him is he's he's made impact. When he's been a reserve coming in. -- to replace someone. When he had to start he hasn't had that that much success then I went last year at that when Seymour was on pop for six weeks. Jarvis was taken his spine and played played at a I had no complaints with what but he didn't have that three -- kinda games and -- did. When he was coming in especially patty berg or even against the Colts he's a great change of pace guy that's that -- so I think that more his role of being afraid to be an every down guy. He'd be serviceable but I don't think he'd be. The spectacular and a difference they're looking for -- so. And if if that's Angel looking for an I don't know I think it's kind of -- there. While I just thought that it would be utilized a little bit more of of their talent in terms of the depth. And you wouldn't have. The line backing core as comfortable. You know if you could say you put Bruschi in the middle and you alternated him with one of the young guys your. Or whatever the case may be I just thought that you know may because you have older depth in the -- in court if you better so you know less than. You know the amount of reps -- those guys get the best way to do that is to put fuel route that. Maybe I mean and you still have you have personnel forty who played three you've -- or three like what like Christina -- in the middle. You don't utilize our nose tackle with a four victory you know yes -- tackle for the Lincoln center right -- lot of college teams do that -- college teams player for the traditional 43 but they line and I think that there tackle over the -- the nose up in effect he's a nose tackle and then it -- strong -- one right there exactly I see no reason why the Patriots couldn't do that. And I'm not sure whether philosophy is we did with the 34 or you know going to slit her throat -- I don't -- what did that put it seems like. I think they just feel that with their the personally have that there -- time. He was there is getting. Now you talk about noon particular Mayo you said. In the line backing -- he going to be happy with what you've seen him no doubt. No doubt I'd love -- you know come in and in the -- they went through more of fourth theory yeah and allowed no problem keeping him in the middle no known. No I think he'd be great in fact I think you know with you know. A healthy Vince Wilfork and would Jerod Mayo playing behind him that's pretty tough to run against up the -- I don't care who I don't care who's blocking. Under what Lamine blocking you get by Wilfork and you got males in their. You may mean that just makes a lot of and you want you trying to to create the team and molded to your ranks. I have to think that would be a straight right up the middle if you played you know into town to down tackles. Play one if you want over the nose guard what you put in somebody like that I'm Warren next to -- right. And and then you got mail back them up that's pretty strong. That's pretty strong got to admit. You know so I'm just you know again. Work kind of client here in the you know and play with -- because hey that's what we're. All they did you -- exactly but you know to me it just it makes a lot of sense and I wouldn't be all surprised he some kind of a all the shift like that and I'm kind of curious why may be that shift has happened well. I like that they did that sort of mix it up in San Francisco they came out and out of the gates with four alignment that we thought -- this is great days there were rushing the quarterback a lot dating it. A whole lot of sacks but they oppression got a lot of great pressure they had him scrambling around throwing on the run and trying to skate the collapsing pocket. And it worked. And against different San Diego. And -- really any -- Yorkers. You know he stood there and pick them apart so. I'd like to see more can -- in the in the pass rush getting descending people. Ending you know Thomas when winning -- that four alignment a configuration Thomas and that leaving the edge and coming in the middle a lot of times. I think he's been making plays on the outside. From you know from what I've in the last few games last year Leon I can't this year. -- that's why we got a town that we. Yeah he could be an edge rusher right in you put him on one people Vrabel on the other and then you get after that when I was expecting this year I am and we have seen now. Not at all so I think that's what's somewhat troubling. Maybe they third feel like. I don't know maybe they elected. They've had to keep them back because of glove you know run the I don't know but those guys generally run defenders which is what is somewhat troubling. You know that's why I'm -- look at it so you know they're playing Monday night against a quarterback who. They haven't. Faced before right Cutler Cutler wasn't tell he wasn't playing. The quarterback was now it was. Lose the -- yes it was one of them on nine and Cutler was a rookie. -- of the last game last on the Internet -- so. You Belichick traditionally has. Done well against quarterbacks that never faced the fences before. That's another reason but he's a Mandy boy he's a smart guy yes I'm yeah he definitely isn't playing better nobody -- that he found -- And is treating it. I guess how much that that's that's -- and again I'm apologist for jumping them but I I'd. Just wanted to debris of the point that here's a guy that is. Playing -- selling in what he does with type one diabetes and I think he's a tremendous credit. But to him. And into that actually everywhere shows you that you can do yeah and he if you're hurt his conference call with the New England media the other day which we'll be hearing later on this program Leo. He today. I think he eat it. Even admitted to but he's -- in the game of -- questions about maybe it's because the sickness has become the focus of yeah -- rather than how it's playing but I think what he needs to do Mangini kind of -- that are relevant and -- felt as you know on the on a pedestal for diabetic. You know everywhere and people within the you know these and I can show them that hey you can manage the I don't think he has quite the outlook like that just yet well. And also could be that it's in season you know maybe that's an off season. That he would and he goes on with diabetes. Diabetes is -- we you know army and dislike. You know professional athlete I would argue professional athlete Israel after realize they have already they realize the dealing with the media part of the job. Comes with being a professional -- deal with the media -- and like it -- the -- learn how to deal with. And whether he likes or not he's going to learn how to deal -- diabetes part of his life is like playing football is a part of his life I would argue."

Play from 30:25[30:25]" You should go hand in hand. Well understand the it. If you listen to on it sounds like he's getting tired of it yet you know so he's maybe it maybe it's getting. It's called in to called maturity here count. -- young guy. He's millions billions -- maturity that's true have a little so that's another reason why I think maybe this game is coming at the right time they're coming to pitcher coming off a loss and a very uncharacteristic loss. And they're playing a team that then there are a lot of advantages even though they're you know on paper may look like the Seymour gets in trouble. I think this this could be the right tonic for them at this point but. Having said that. The Patriots they'll I don't think have the type of identity that they had at this point last year right on either side of the ball. On offense I think I don't think they know they're at thirty point scoring team now don't they don't is very true or indifference if they can hold teams that it's of that a you know one week they do another week they they get burned by one particular play and now that's happened twice in their and their two losses they've gotten beat. Basically I want particular play you know it again and it was his Rivers throwing the ball -- of Jackson or Lloyd or whoever was pitching. That point against Miami it was Ronnie Brown during his. Play from 51:39[51:39]" That's correct they got to a three don't start one of 97 it didn't make it right. And it taco Bill Belichick about six or seven years of finally. -- had him run the style offense you know which which I think -- Why AT -- the Patriots played the way they played like you're would letting Tom Brady. Really trying to go pretty camp you know that's the thing is in the -- the Patriots during their fourth Super Bowl appearances. Is you know their style of play changed at every one of them. You know -- first Super Bowl team was brilliant piece at a boring and it's special teams make plays they've got just enough -- dry ice. Tom Brady did just that he kicks from Vinatieri to win. You know they were. Does it notably think they'll stack. And they -- just -- Antowain Smith also -- Brady was doing an oak forest but they were perfectly balanced. You know they had the power running of Corey Dillon. And they had efficient passing the Brady. Then of course last year you know they put up unprecedented numbers disturbed that style buffet it's why they stayed good as long as they have because they're so hard to defense -- you never know what you're going to get. With the New England Patriots and so on but in order to -- the style offense with Tom Brady did last year at the trusted Bill Belichick had in him. It took them six or seven years. Play from 53:31[53:31]" Point where we have to figure what kind of team we have but. It it's not all on his shoulders. Of the that's the way they're playing it's not all -- all. You know and you know until -- really shows that he can't operate the offense. And has -- in the case he's he's played decently he hasn't been Tom Brady. Hardly anybody in the league is. But until he proves that he's losing games for them I think you have to try to continue to go with who you think is the best guy that's -- That's that's him and if that team and that they need -- 97. What you don't have Tom Brady you knew it was going to be there wasn't going to be a sixteen and elegant. But fans of panic there."

Play from 54:22[54:22]" Well that's good reason I mean I understand the panic indeed because of the success with your head. As the French had an unprecedented X its successes as of late. But the bottom line and what's not only be MVP but the ultimate similarity here. And tell you wasserman and basically first quarter of the season. Very first quarter of this season and that this and there's not and should not much you can do about to hit all the sub point at first season. Maybe the reds can pull off the pass and finally don't hold your breath right. Com that there a couple of games that I'm really look before washing on Sunday and one of them is San Diego and Buffalo. Very intriguing for a lot of obvious reason or Arnold wants out of -- yeah Buffalo's on top of the division sure but yeah I wouldn't know why you wouldn't be a charger fan for this particular game because it directly helped New England but I think a lot of people -- to see how Buffalo compares even though they get San Diego at home to what happened the Patriots last week don't think Russell."

Play from 56:51[56:51]" Others -- doubt about it I mean you know -- he'd seen Diego will get a one week they're getting shackled by the Dolphins in Miami and then a week later they're pulling out delinquent. Injured in the AFC championship game I think up until then. You know again that division to that game against Denver where he's kind of -- ought to Jay Cutler across the field and I think that kind of put him in a bad light. And then you just realize it's more about his fire and it's not about just being you know lack of better word smart ass. He's a real fiery guy. Oh yeah and and against Colts and they beat the Colts he was well absolutely and I think there were assisting it out he kinda. For people not knowing including myself enjoy watching on TV he he he almost can't -- at the wrong way. And then yet I think so instead he cut understood what he's really really title -- stuff. That you know when you try to play it you can't cut and you saw that last week -- a lot of time you've seen it every week window to. He just doesn't seem like he's gonna -- that had a -- He doesn't have that kind of heated and had an explosion. You don't eat what you see him around a quarter now you'd think you'd speed Claude I think it was going to catch."

Play from 59:21[59:21]" Well you know that's what kind of surprised me about. Bill said his game plan was going incidents San Diego game my that they wanted to take Tomlinson noise. And I kinda surprised me because what you said he'd been nicked up they knew that he didn't have that extra step that he had before. And you're hurting you that San Diego's receiving corps was a little bit nicked up too. Well why not try to take the big play of way from Rivers want to try to go after Rivers and take away the only other option. They instead focused on Tomlinson who already wasn't a full a 100%. To begin went. But that was there may not that."

Play from 1:00:00[1:00:00]" Their main concern it was interesting he said that the you know the Chargers receiving corps nicked up I wish to proceeded to have Chris Chambers. Play from 1:01:33[1:01:33]" Well they got off to a good start against you know Cleveland and in Cincinnati. And now they kind of more hit and needed some you know formidable teams. Consistent running game which will -- ATP Indianapolis wind like fullback LeRon McClain. It leads the team in rushing into good -- like guys and so on but you're not seen him get -- 20/20 five times a game that can't help the quarterback being a rookie quarterback. -- experienced quarterback last week the Colts came about. In the forty games compared to Raiders were competitive football team and they were fired fifty. But if you watched how they played they might not have the body. But at least completely different you know -- could -- the -- For Tom cable last week they've looked very dysfunctional. And the Jets stated just stay just dusty didn't get a lot out of your bread last week because three touchdowns and Tom Jones spread through problem intersection -- because when -- Fighter out -- so one but. He does this is big game if the Jets are gonna steady in the AFC east race. He can't go across the country and let one get away from yeah. He should beat the Raiders -- the last three times they played. As we felt that last week in the sleek AK Rams Redskins they keep Brown's giant right. Probably take your pick would have few other. You're they'll give me I don't care what the other record as you know Kansas City in Denver we've done that -- a couple of weeks ago so. In this league when you're expected to win sometimes it's harder in the game where you're not expect to went."

Play from 1:05:33[1:05:33]" Boy who. In their right mind would want to take that Raiders coach. When it comes again Eric I think it'd Oregon and it Micah -- mind. Yeah. Play from 1:06:31[1:06:31]" So would I but I noticed rate a great help more people want within the bad video game with the Raiders have won the last five --"

Play from 1:06:38[1:06:38]" That's true but you know what he might be the only person who could take over the coaching job and not have it be a distraction to the players -- to him the coach. Play from 1:06:55[1:06:55]" The thirty year it did when did he retire. Last year 79. And -- that's very correct yes. Now. That would be a shock -- if there ever was one."

Play from 1:07:21[1:07:21]" That's why you stay behind us we couldn't make the trip that concludes the Tampa for the maybe he's going over the roster. Looking for and looking for they'll they'll be you don't want to wipe out there you know."

Play from 1:07:31[1:07:31]" And such a -- it wouldn't surprise me if that's what ends up. You mentioned earlier Russell we get started here about the other week that it has been for the Dallas Cowboys and his team that you know could be seeing. Themselves begin that downward spiral as well although they got to play at St. Louis this week St. Louis to get their first win of the year last week. The -- was able hold this together because it does seem like things like like -- or lose it you know on you know from the from the training wheels so to speak."

Play from 1:07:59[1:07:59]" Well I mean you have the Adam Jones saga. You have rookie Felix Jones is going to -- about. Value lost a partner last week in the overtime game eat out for the season for the Pro Bowl punter Mat McBriar and he lost a wide receiver -- hurt you gave the wide receiver because. Now that you're getting rid of Jones is you are stocking up on Roy Williams system. In -- on your team."

Play from 1:08:21[1:08:21]" Are -- going to work the jerseys. And they. I think they'll be getting an NL. As a Roy eat at a Roy you know I believe that would be great have an entire. An entire team on the back that your English and then it changes need -- and I think it's simple truce which which candidate or Rogers. -- would be you know much. Singing Cowboys -- calculated somewhat of a long way to go prepared joked he was the Hamptons. You'll appreciate that Tony Romo put you know Tony Romo. Let's see our -- I believe he is throwing the football elect candidate. And it's not. Set in stone that he's not -- to play now this Sunday at St. what did he called Brett Favre broke sparkled on here I think this story with no regrets at all I have. What was what was he doing them that the case."

Play from 1:09:11[1:09:11]" I think there's -- admiration that goes on with Tony and Brett. And so I think that's that's simply cases and I would he'll -- read between the lines and saying okay we got a broken pinkie. I don't know put words more encouraging or more pep talk of hey if you could play you need to and I played with a lot itself and so -- and I think. I don't think -- example golden necessarily get a quarterback letters but a lot of discussion about -- largest being banged up like Greg called -- I think it's because. You know who will close this story's over what are realizing far. And a little further other quarterbacks that I idolize so far but they -- have a relationship and if that's what goes on all the time people you know. What Troy Aikman was the Dallas Cowboys quarterback. And turn your head left. Okay yeah they talk to each other even though Norv Turner would be head coach of the Washington Redskins. Okay yeah I mean do you think it was any surprise that Norv Turner was the person who deducted Troy Aikman into the pro football team. When he went and a couple of years ago he has Michael or retirement Specter Jimmy Johnson or Jerry county this sort turner."

Play from 1:10:21[1:10:21]" But other but it but is it wise to make those kind of conversations public."

Play from 1:10:25[1:10:25]" I don't know if that was necessarily. Yeah I don't know everything becomes public now would you like it or not unfortunately. And so on and in some -- they think that wasn't public. Who knows who well like it would of taken on -- sound so I've ever read it read too much. Until it needs to know a lot you know obviously it's usually Eric and so on I think would be more unusual stiffer. It's for the Jets are playing at a Cowboys this week that I really think it was a mutual and but I I think because there's a little. Admiration society because there you know I've I've thought about going to get too. Hyped up about it to be made it to be honest with you -- oral Woolsey with a capital C Tony place on the odd like you're in -- are your dad -- and I because. If you if you if you think about it didn't think about. On the competitive nature of football in general and and god has it changed from thirty years ago -- you know -- you know some guys who needed help the other guys up. That would seem a million or more the players look out for each other effort that than ever before -- I think that's a -- big but it's certainly different. That was 2030 years ago when it was much more intense and so now it's morbid business even for the players. As well. I don't disagree with that -- I mean as far as the after effects go. He'd be different they were you know it didn't check. I'm sorry -- Packers and the Cowboys were playing this week in -- called don't need to get some insights supplement Packard who then I think I'd be. You know yeah against Vicente that would really you moved to Nokia contract with people on the list of wash it out space of a good team on --"

Play from 1:12:06[1:12:06]" pop up on -- I'll make you argue. You are throwing back -- it that are I thought I don't -- him -- welcome to give that -- number we -- that after the big one it was not in -- in Indianapolis at Green Bay do we even more of of the real cold team or at least the Colts team that. You know you know we all thought maybe you could be last week."

Play from 1:12:31[1:12:31]" Well I think it's Colts game that's trying to get familiar with -- each other they they accepted defected and -- boxing in the for a while. That being said. Now all of a sudden they're giving you different team again because it just the guys could be up for a couple of weeks. With a partially torn hamstring and Mike Hart that you know the rookie from Michigan won their backup running back he's out for the year with a hamstring. Injuries well also blast from the past you big cut before the year started Dominic Rhodes and comedy is not dominant Dominic donor place without any road won't have to carry the load. Against the Green -- eighteen to -- itself back. On kilter last week after winning at Seattle and -- the last time these two teams played was four years ago and I don't you guys who remembered which she gap between getting and far. -- and Javon Walker to big date for the Packers 4531. At Indianapolis of course now walker -- vote on indeed gone but I tell you one thing. If Aaron Rodgers is proven that he's pretty good quarterback. And a notre -- go to went sixteen to -- Because it's been tough. The guy he's played hurt. Com that the guy is not only been pretty accurate but -- the Packers running game which has been virtually nonexistent. Okay they had four rushing touchdowns this year three by -- Rogers. One of them were by Brett -- great has scored a touchdown. This year that was you know that you really big hold -- country injury. Yeah they got -- over the Packers are really -- themselves this year is their offense and decent supply did not play that well -- Terrible time trying to stop the run to put more pressure on the offense. You go to games and Aaron Rodgers and plus he's the -- a lot. So this is a team that is not a team that's not living up to -- If you could make the case the only guy who was literally exceeding expectations Green Bay right now is the guy everybody -- was was most worried about that character."

Play from 1:14:27[1:14:27]" Yeah yeah a point or point. Aren't we touched on last week's opponent the Patriots we've even touched on next week's opponent the Rams. We looked at all the divisional opponents that are playing games this week and we have yet talk about this week it felt no it's the burger big deal Monday night the ESP and when -- game. Patriots accurate home at Gillette against the Denver Broncos and we're Denver comes in leading the west at four and two. But they to a come probable loss after losing 2470 to Jacksonville well last week and you know what your taken -- what are your what are your compatriots they're in -- in in your neck of the woods. It is and Russell well what are your thoughts on all of a sudden. The last three games. Denver finding it really hard to put points on the board after starting off the first three games -- like gangbusters."

Play from 1:15:13[1:15:13]" Yeah I want to say radio what 34 more each of the first three games less than twenty in the last three games that's correct okay thank you so. Solve a lot of that has anything to do with the fact it even when they were winning their defense to stop playing very well. And now teams are learning that even though if you fall behind which does what I love about. The coaches to really get it even if you -- they don't fourteen not -- or 21 nothing. But the opposition can't stop the run don't stop running that's how you'll actually get back into the game. And Denver is not very stout on the decent blind. They don't rush the passer overly well they don't stop the run very well even in the games they want to they have a lot of deep sense of issues. And Jackson awarded to the building -- in Jacksonville coming off a loss to Pittsburgh. One up to Denver -- the the second straight year new -- we challenged you know. It's not a good thing if you remember this the one -- double Rees Jones Drew had last week along I think 46 yarder. You can Denver defenders racing you know trying to chase him into the end zone. And Troy Williamson. The onetime viking. You know wide receiver that we -- bill. Actually deep into Denver defenders who were chasing. But reached George true into the end zone as well so when your defensive guys. -- not only not catch the ball carrier public can't catch the blocker. -- the trailing blocker. Did you got some problems defensively and you know depending on how do we replace this. Now they should be able to control the ball against the Denver beat bad. Defensively for New England they're going to have to play better they played. You know -- laying -- last week as well. There's no doubt the Denver can put points on the board. It's certain situations but the problem is that Big -- get behind to get -- to a back and forth game. That's what Denver's going to get -- trouble in -- mark was a big physical receiver. Hopefully for them they have Eddie Royal back this week hopefully -- them they have Tony Scheffler back this week. But I think -- Wesley also Jay Cutler that big strong arm is to keep Denver's offense off the field. And I think which that way Denver Steve let's just play that's been it's been steady. Okay you know I think -- probably their best defensive game -- today and that's what Brian Griese got hurt and suddenly they're playing against Jeff Garcia. But they disrupt the run all year. I think you know our actual what's going all would Laurence Maroney up their true that's been a topic of discussion with you guys going and so on. Well but Sammy Morris. LaMont Jordan if he's playing this week a -- his health status as well I know he's hit some. Injury problems audit -- is that's stable of big back. That's just the kind of tonic that would be bad news for Denver defense that again. Not great on the defensive line and not very good against the --"

Play from 1:18:07[1:18:07]" Here's what scares me the most though about the Patriots. Going against Denver's defense while Denver certainly looks to be deepens the could be susceptible to give it up. Fact is that a lot of -- and -- squad on the -- because majority -- their passes -- in the flat. They're under ten yards and right teams can sit there played eight in the box or nine in the box and you know pretty particular reason. And an and the and the Patriots are thrown right into their weakness the Patriots can't stretch the field and they can't go up the middle right now. And so that's why until I hit I I'm just mentioned the Patriots can do."

Play from 1:18:42[1:18:42]" Well I think -- deacons sit there for the taking. It's just the better despite hopeful -- New England plays if they're going to take it. I don't think days and they want to come out here and played a wide open type of thing against Denver because could they do have some respectable. Defensive backs -- good linebacker DJ Williams and so on. So depending on how the you know want to attack that way but I just think it's -- go to might be boring you know but I go go go check it. Title throw the ball 25 times a game. Reported -- consecutive times but he did you know couple years ago on a Monday night. What's this thing Nikkei compliment just what the ball. The entire time because plays that would give Denver on its heels and -- that. You know based target the Denver very very early that's where the play action passing and the deep passes will open up as the safeties in the deep these are crowding the line."

Play from 1:19:34[1:19:34]" Something that and on defense the Patriots have to get him in Cutler space. Even if they don't second they have to do with it it's."

Play from 1:19:42[1:19:42]" I have absolutely no doubt the taxes -- a lot of times he dealt with -- city you know -- that with a -- speed. Tampa last year and their first playoff game you know what route to their super program they checked Jeff Garcia Erica one time. They -- The eleventh time. Yeah get rattled the wall -- up eleven times he would be on eleven spots. It -- about the third of his attempts where he went down on the ground. And so on that's really what you want to do you know it doesn't always have to be it sex sometimes sex -- are great but sometimes sex can be decide deceptive if you're given up each. And you don't get a quarterback but you get in Norman it's -- that ball goes that it be -- but the fact but it probably touchdown the other way."

Play from 1:20:25[1:20:25]" Let me also bring of one of the matchup that I think was probably will see some time. On Monday night and again part of the reason why am I'm concerned. From a Patriots perspective is Randy Moss. I'm guessing is going to be in time against Champ Bailey. Now I don't know depending on the line on the football I don't know if you're -- why you wouldn't want to put it -- law since nobody has been throwing against Champ -- the offensively this year EI I don't think you're going to put Dre -- up against him plus if you put Champ -- up against -- you probably can get away -- single coverage we go help out elsewhere and again that just cuts off another opportunity for the Patriots."

Play from 1:21:00[1:21:00]" Yeah you know -- believed outstanding in the years what have those. Lapses where it seemed to keep can't throw at him John. And then on the other -- it's -- like growing. And depending on it you know how the early Chelsea goes. You know politics is wondered to those. You know when you're attacking a decent sometimes there's that school a lot of counting them and then there's also the school people -- sisco walked right away. And see what they're made out the -- didn't address things down you know so there's one of two ways you know I think against Denver I think the preference is probably. Two -- at the little because they just haven't proven -- consistent basis that they could stop anybody from running. And that -- your -- time where you want to attempt you know attacked them long. With bought three -- the tight outfielder so what do we really haven't seen. A lot of that type and production. The Patriots. You know it's yeah. That the and that's you know that's that's kinda interesting because you know Benoit and I know he's been in you know you guys know more about his -- but I do armies -- it was."

Play from 1:22:06[1:22:06]" The first couple weeks -- and they and they actually utilized him -- blocking. Scheme over the last few weeks that they felt like they've needed the help from the Dolphins in line."

Play from 1:22:15[1:22:15]" Well that's you know that's stats and they're missing the point out that -- actually contribute -- Brady union experience Cassell does. I believe the Patriots have given up what exactly already this year yeah in the regular season they gave up 21 of the regular season black -- you listen okay. And you know that's. Is that offensive line is that an experienced -- probably accommodation opposed I would lean more toward the quarterback great help. It is only natural headed into this seat -- what is an experience. So like I I certainly understand that but. -- go to if you carefully placed passes. Tom Tippett played endure regular even. Although I think there's a certain way you can -- Edberg listen Mike Shanahan -- had Bill Belichick number over the years but that won't want Brady would sit there. You know I felt weird. But what I think what fight -- one the last six times they played yup the Broncos include the play okay but so what yeah."

Play from 1:23:08[1:23:08]" There and they had -- was -- was the -- one. When Ortiz would be able to back a young threw the table potential safety gave up that night but Korea that's you have devers -- libelous -- including the playoff game yeah."

Play from 1:23:21[1:23:21]" Right yeah but. I just ICI watch Denver hand. You go eat he would completely Diego this year and I know that would be you know really what -- it'd -- they game because luckily -- all that stuff. But Denver had a big lead they squandered it. I don't know what you play -- and so we Denver does that erratically. You're really not think about it where you can listen Larry Johnson exploited that. A couple of weeks ago and I know you know same remark about Larry Johnson. But that you know maybe two backs can add up to Larry Johnson -- it there's there's -- way to -- Denver. And that's to be held that could -- just haven't proven they can stop anybody."

Play from 1:23:58[1:23:58]" Time will tell them the pictures nasty for the personnel groupings in order to attempt. That very thing on Monday night if -- would."

Play from 1:24:05[1:24:05]" Half -- game would be very contagious to the New England Patriots."

Play from 1:24:09[1:24:09]" Yeah I think you wouldn't it be advantageous to those view you know covered the game -- of the game that wouldn't exactly how the rest of the idiom to."

Play from 1:24:17[1:24:17]" I think a lot of still tied for Jaworski now -- want to hear talk. Let's do this then we've got our conference calls that we promised you from all the Denver Broncos -- members of the Patriots media. Up first will be Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan -- Shanahan is certainly as a Russell Baxter alluded to short while ago. As head is is in on your success is with the Patriots end with. Bill Belichick particular fact the Broncos as a team overall nine and two. Against teams coached by Bill Belichick. Did you rest -- right. -- 4 against Belichick when he was they had coached the Browns. Are from 91 to 95 in the Broncos are five and two. Against the Patriot. Under coach Belichick from 2000 until now. 219 and two overall franchise record against bill. Belichick coached team I don't know what that means to you but it means that obviously somehow some way they've got their mark. And we should also tell you that the Broncos right now are the only team in the NFL. With a winning record against New England in regular season and post season play combined. In 2001. When we won when this team when the Patriots won their first Kubel. In 2001 and that time. The Broncos -- the only team in the NFL with a winning record against New England in the regular season and post season combined five and one. Against -- and the architect of it has been Mike Shanahan and he did meet with members of the Patriots media."

Play from 1:32:36[1:32:36]" Here's an idea and writers howry. Thanks for in a few minutes sports no problem yeah just started out that this look and I hate your team. Always really -- about the Broncos with that great rushing attack him in here we the pipeline passing attack. Third period and is that a change here how do you sort of see via. The Athens evolving maybe from what we've seen in the past."

Play from 1:33:02[1:33:02]" I don't know why didn't hear it particularly more balance that you'd probably look at it right now statistical standpoint. Early can take away the run and something to articulate and so I felt -- a little change your philosophy but right now issues you mentioned that we have thrown the ball more difficult do."

Play from 1:33:21[1:33:21]" hope you're done she covers performance at this point."

Play from 1:33:25[1:33:25]" I think he's done an excellent job -- commit to -- here. You know their two losses we've ever had tournament furcal it would football games real don't turn football over shall. We've got to get better in that area but so full bulge in TDs. But I've been I've been pleased it is progress this year and so a lot of adult relatives in the playbook and him quite well."

Play from 1:33:50[1:33:50]" Save. He said that the this sort of three weeks scoring. -- the chief that is the most the biggest problems than turnovers would you agree with that -- itself."

Play from 1:34:01[1:34:01]" Well oiled ball obviously turn over the ball security Kansas City and hit four. I have 450 yards and turn the ball down there. You don't get points. Play from 1:34:51[1:34:51]" Much is Jay's arms turns. Allow you to call plays that maybe you couldn't play he couldn't call --"

Play from 1:35:00[1:35:00]" Well I think sometimes your strength is overrated. You know a lot of these -- of you know really get our -- they can make all the throws and sometimes. You know under a lot of quarterbacks -- a great -- can't play the game itself takes a lot more than our strengths to obviously great quarterback initially."
