Breaking down last Sunday's game for me. When these -- for the great. Right at the rest of the 2008. At. NFL's. And some of the points stuff in between now here's John look. -- Patriots playbook and."
[0:41]" Ultimate in sports day here on Patriots dot com radio I'm John brook. And -- now it to their attention right toward the AFC east division. Because they've got not one not two but three straight divisional opponents to come. Through Europe at home. -- want him on the road -- looked to me that we have arrived at the -- would -- junction point. Of the season the make or break time the do or die time the the focal point the fulcrum what do you every want to call it. This is the spot of the season. This is why he's in the going to make or break this game. I'm convinced of what about you. -- get we welcome -- on the play book it's obviously very very special day in this country. As we have tried to elect the new president. I can't that I am terribly thrilled -- With the either the truth is to be honest with although I did my my my civic duty and didn't -- my vote. Earlier this morning when the lines -- were lol I would be curious to notice on I don't really want to get into a huge political debate because. And on many of the talk radio stations that and I."
[1:52]" You're listening to today including the sports talk organizations that. Invariably. The topic is going to get around politics. Politics as we all realize is a sports. That's just what it is it's again it. If it's adult playing a game that's what -- is -- broader and January weren't away mark I -- you kind of have to turn things on its. On the side your little bit just to have an enjoyment out of it because you know it is a game it will probably shouldn't be but it is. RI would like I would mean you know I've I'm not want to. Give my. Voting preference as. You know when I'm asked by pollsters out subtle pulling play -- the exit pollsters I don't usually do that. Hello everybody today. No no there I saw some example hours early this morning though but I haven't whiz right by him and they didn't stop me. And I usually don't do that but I'm going to break from that. Tendency here and I'm going to ask those of you who were listening to this program right now. Okay I'm going to ask you if you have voted today. And and by the way if -- listening outside the United States and you're an American citizen did you major -- And how long ago did you vote. But I'm going to ask you who you voted for I think we should do Patriots dot com. Radio. Such is the is. Example that it let's find out who are Patriots fans. Prefer. For a presidential candidate you know Barack Obama or course them all the other guy. John -- You act like that you got a mile a little bit today -- because. And in Italy recently because in all those days the gimmicky to you out. Italy in all the campaign rhetoric and over the LO. What I want to I've wanted to sort of an an exit poll and strategy today all right please. If you just give me the favor if you want to reply. Anonymously. By all means I would like to know though is actually if you were out side. The United States America if you voted in the election obviously -- absentee who you voted for. And if you're listening in the United States of America who did you vote for. -- you haven't voted in January. If you haven't voted yet today maybe you live on the west coast -- live in Hawaii or Alaska while living Alaska I think I know you voted for prior didn't January. Exactly. Who vote for. Who are you planning to vote for who do you support it was too little. You know Patriots playbook example -- what they wanted to ask you today just in in in the you know in in along with the fact that this is an election. By the -- dude what's this. Other Arab it would necessary -- thank you bet she's not going to be a vice president we have a lot of fun that. Not going to happen. I don't mean influence -- the voters if you have not voted yet. I highly encourage you because frankly based on the last two elections every vote does count so I don't want to dissuade anybody from voting today. If you -- you know their vote yes exactly. Exactly I'm holding out hope look like that. I didn't really I'm not enamored with -- guy I think both candidates actually you have good points to them. Even -- even Barack Obama I think there's some things that frankly I do like about him. I voted today for John McCain and the reason I voted for John McCain was not entirely because. Off I voted for John McCain because he's more of a entry and I found my oval that more of a centrist politically I will admit I was dyed in the wool hard edged. Right wing Republican several years ago. And maybe as I've gotten older I've mailed out some. From there -- a lot of things that I've seen in this country in my travels. And especially working in -- maturity circles not province circles that over the last few years that I've seen that they have caused me you know to change my flaw in. I am a perfect example of you can teach an old dog a new trick. You can't because I've learned. So that's partly where I'm coming I however I did not vote for Obama to. Just because. I just I believe that he's just not experienced enough from my liking. He's not experienced enough. Within our legislature. He's not experienced enough com. Within our world culture. He's not experienced and it went in our world politics and foreign policy he is an experience. You know if you if you told the Bronco -- We could take the current day Barack and run him for president eight years from now I'd say you had yourself a slam dunk winner. Most most likely. He'd be older he would had eight more years in the and it. Any -- had an opportunity to gain that it parents. I'm just nervous in this current day and age in this world that we -- having a guy who. You know wants to go to the table with you know -- Libyans and and here you know Iraq Iran eons and I just -- c'mon. You gotta know by now houllier who your friends are and who are not your friend. And I'm not going to the table and look who's not my friend. That is what am I I don't believe in our league has ever worked. You know because people who you think your friends are going to try to pull the wool over your rise and you have to fight fire with fire you have to beat the you'd have to dictate policy not have policy dictated to you. I'm all for this country being. More self sufficient. I'm all for this country pulling in the -- I don't know early we got put you know and I. No offense is up on our borders. But I I'd I'd think we need to be less reliance on foreign oil and we need to have you know partners trade with that are willing to take our product as opposed to. You know us taking -- in -- turning hours away at the border in other all sorts of things right so now lets you know little bit more about me politically. That's going I actually a run for office before. I have about twelve years ago I ran for a local legislative position at a Rhode Island. It was a Republican greatest Republican actually am -- registered Republican but. I don't really supported it local Republican -- reason I don't is because I think they'll think. I probably should on -- it from the Republican Party but I guess there's just you know all the little voice in the back in my --"
[8:25]" Don't do and it's -- Bill would be true outta here."
[8:28]" Now and so I haven't on the but I've found myself today. Looking at all the candidate I voted for two democratic had voted for democratic senate candidate -- live. I vote for a democratic. -- how representatives congressman run live. And I voted for a democratic. State senator Bradley -- philatelic I am I look I try to look at the candidate and I probably should on affiliate in in. Become on a registered Independent that because that's really how I believe now. And I think more and more people this country quite frankly believe like I -- I think that number grows almost every day. But I still consider myself a Republican because basically I am a fiscal conservative. A fiscal conservative a social moderate. And based on those facts that I told you I was a little bit more comfortable not entirely. But a little more comfortable album with McCain -- that my vote went to. And I'm sure that you'll you know if you care to share with me why you vote the way you did I hope that you will. Because you know there's no debate here -- whichever way. You feel like the way you want to vote or you've already voted. And we're going to have to live with that choice is for the next four years and just don't were all going to try to work to make about it. Now that's enough of the politics but I didn't want to open up with that -- be quite -- going to be interesting to -- how Patriots fans. Vote. And how Patriot fans sighed and -- Patriot fans. Are reporting. Not that it means anything one or the other I'd like to be an interesting little slice of Americana. Little interest in little likes of the sport. Find out what Patriots fans are thinking. And of course you're not a Patriot fan and I know the we do get a lot of listeners on to this particular program from. Other teams around the league who are -- is going to build -- calmer. It will probably a lot of bills fans know able Colts fans from time to time. Listen to the program because they don't have -- more programming. I'd be interested -- know how you voted as well you don't that is the pats have public sic football fans. What does football America voting -- today. Web radio at Patriots dot com is email address web radio at. Patriots dot com and if you like call you -- 5 wait 5437482. I've only 5437482. As the telephone number and you are. This normally is -- Tuesday. And again for the uninitiated with tickets on Tuesday we will look back -- the previous game and even if the Patriots when we find things that we don't like. And we pick and we pick and we pick -- more until the gamble leads. And etiquette -- over for another day picks immoral because that's what we do. Well obviously I think today we've all got double -- that we can pick and so that the other thing -- I want as they would nitpick. On from Sunday night encounter with the -- What won -- or two facets of the game bothered you most and I know that there are several and I just got the listing off. You know several major ones who -- a couple of moments goes he closed up PFW in progress today arm. But. Pick one. Pick one of the things that you thought about money -- that really."
[12:06]" That you wished you could change that you would do work hard -- if you could do over. Or maybe. You have the coach to ever the players to over epic duel over what is the one. Miscue. From Sunday night that you really like to pick a nit -- at this point in time. Web radio at Patriots dot com I've got several as I mentioned. I think over the top of the list. Is something that I mentioned with Michael little bit ago that quite frankly I'm I'm surprised it happened because it's very uncharacteristic. Of coach Belichick to do. The one that picked that I really head that really just kind of stuck in my -- and I'm not sure I'm going to get rid of it anytime -- game -- do with the fact that he called time out. When they had the -- that wonder on the yard line. And decided to kick the field I I thought that that was like -- told like that was a triple whammy. Number one they had the first down play they had the first down -- Number two. Why did you call timeout to -- for a field goal. If anything you want to call a timeout and extreme you have the proper you know personnel on the field good for fourth don't. And I and and the number three. You already -- in the red zone you're already struggling in the red zone make that statement. Go win a game on the -- that completely and totally blue in the face of everything you're supposed to do when you play on the road in the NFL you don't play conservatively what do you have a chance to go for the jugular you goal for the jugular. They play the game like they were at home. All conservative. Mild mannered. You have to be you must be old or older aggressive. On the road. And they weren't. That one -- that one time that one in the fourth and want at the Knicks an opportunity. To go for it. And that was the worst is going to happen the worst that what I have what they got stopped. And you put the Colts in bad field position and then you don't know what happened from there. I just I I just thought it was just it really was very own Belichick Ian. That are just coined the phrase under Belichick yeah that's what it what. Not a one count not to count on three separate count. And that disappointed me more than any other aspect of the game -- it -- that. Jabar Gaffney dropped touchdown Kent. At the hi -- he had it in his hands and only did he drop but he booted it. After. Army could not have been a more fatal law. In Gaffney dropping a touchdown. That's another one that you surely -- to fall -- a -- come. They're there are several others that you can look at. I -- I don't even know that I want to go there is quite frankly I am soul and completely. Baffled. By the choice that was made I mean I told Mike. I told Mike that you know frankly because of all the good things that have happened an example of good calls that have been made and all the strategy that has been one in a positive. That you know I think it's time that you don't you give you have to give coach Belichick passed because he's not one -- he's not going to bat a thousand. On every call every gamble that he makes. The problem I have with this one. Is that I just don't think that the -- the situation was gone completely through number one you've RD way that a time out as I suggested earlier. You waste the timeout based on or information. You know the twelve players on the field on that happened earlier in the game. It'll -- in the field were confused over who was coming off the field and if there was any doubt at all you don't throw the red flag. Somebody's head coach Belichick some bad information so the fault on that has got the lies somewhere in the press box where that's concerned with one of the other assistants. Because. You have that support information and you lost the challenge and you lost that time out you have one or challenge and one last time out play. You hand knocks. Under any circumstances. Going to a close game late in the fourth quarter where it. With which is exactly what the Patriots did. They got the ball that that I had no prayer of getting the ball down field and getting an imposition. You know Steve but it goes out there is no shot. No shot at all and that's unfortunate. So you know from. Field position from red zone from timeouts remaining. From philosophy from everything it was a complete and total abomination of a call. And I just was less scratched my head over that one go over the field goal that would of the field. I'm sure the call the timeout they're not I wasn't smart now you're down to one timeout on -- or maybe they're going to get the per per personal package and of course they make the first down. In -- You know how he has to be seen -- right. You call a timeout you try to freezing guiding this kitrey or the other team tries to threes gotta make -- whatever you know could you have a timeout currency -- called without their. On make the first down and currently -- he's going to you know bring the right people on the and and the Eagles were again and then you kicked a -- I'd yeah idea. That was going to stick -- for a while I don't know what you that's going to stick and for while this team had a chance seize control of the AFC east. The team had a chance to play from the league. Like they're normal. Elves have been a lot of New Year's and they blew. Now it's not the only reason that the team lost the game on an artillery. But I think it was a large contributing factor on several front. And to me it was the most. Juan Nady of all the picks. I'm sure you have your own. Web radio Patriots -- Shared my biggest nitpick from Sunday night would you. And I hope that you will share viewers with me. Mark Kelso -- radio color commentator on is scheduled to join us oh within the next ten minutes of the program. And then Brian -- Patriots today and then loaded or join us in the 3 o'clock on the second the program today which caught up to internal things Patriots from. The bills -- and storing their own right are simply because they have struggled over the last. -- three weeks four weeks. They've lost that come back down to worse. From five and 15 and three. For -- to five in three basically. As -- out -- for themselves and flat footed tie with both the bills and the Jets and Miami Dolphins are only game back of foreign four. I I find the fact of the Dolphins are only a game back at four in -- be one of the true up at of the entire season for. Dolphins should be getting a lot more credit they're getting. For being born four. Forget the fact that the Jets are doing the five and three thing with smoke and mirrors. Forget the fact that clearly having the bills are beginning to slide downward now on playing more to perhaps they're real potential. Fact is the Dolphins are playing way above where nobody thought that they would. And if you ask me. All the other teams within the AFC east who worries me the most. The Dolphins. And I'd like to ask you that question today as well here's another email question of the day for you don't want to deal with politics that's fine although I hope you'll choose to do so. If you don't have a particular nitpick. Although I think you probably do. That's -- too. Which of the other teams in the AF CE at the halfway mark of the season which is where we are. Through nine weeks eight of course on the playing field for the Patriots and and the other opponents in the division so your halfway through the regular season. Which of the other three teams worries you the most. The Dolphins from me. The Patriots have the bill the Jets and the Dolphins bang bang bang right row over the next three weeks. On the going to get -- pretty doggone quickly. Dolphins the one that that worried me the most of because -- Patriots have to go down there to play. They got to go down there and play and of course we all know what happened the game appear few weeks ago. Little over a month ago they -- banked. Now let's not the -- I think the -- the bills or the Jets lightly no quite the contrary. I think the Patriots actually will focus and I think they realize that the bill are legitimate. All the bills -- true recognizable threat that the bill doll or off to a great start this season while that may be a little banged up -- certainly capable of turning it around. At some point a model was they would have already done what they've done and I'm sure the bills are going to get the Patriots on divided attention. And idiots around on a short short work week as of Thursday night game the following even -- year at Gillette. He got Thursday night game against the Jets team that you Marty you know one on the road again. It's the one road win it's got to hang your hat on right now. And then of course you'll have. Couple extra days to prepare for playing down in Miami and and the Patriots will be ready for that but frankly -- have never faired very well in Miami you know what I know what Patriots don't always know. Terms of historical perspective. Was quite that -- last year but then again. This isn't the team that the Patriots at last. And I'm sure the Dolphins are looking like it is there. There one chance at its legitimizing. And their licking their chops already. Big Three weeks your -- Big Three weeks which of the three divisional opponents worries you. The most. Web radio at Patriots dot com. That's you give to us here today on the program arm. Couple things that you know did transpire on Monday night skis Sunday night. Arm. That you know surely. Come out in a positive. Wes Welker tied the other record for most games six more catches to open season. When he got his six catch the game which came -- in the fourth quarter. He tied the NFL record for most games with six or more receptions to begin a season. Welker now is at six plus receptions any of the Patriot eight games this year. That ties into the record which was established by Jimmy Smith from Jacksonville in 2001. So congratulations to Wes Welker that is one of those obscures that that early don't eat a lot of and yet. Com it certainly worth mentioning here because of his valued the team. Steve is -- he hit three field goals so he's now nineteen for wanting. On field goals this season which if my math is correct 95%. Is what he's connecting right now. That's pretty amazed. Pretty amazing he is now the Patriots all time leader in field goal percentage is sixty or seventy in his Patriot career which is 86%. Yes that's better than Adam Vinatieri. Who by the way congratulations with a 52 yard the other night -- have been the difference in the ball. Doesn't surprise me in the weeks that he hit it probably should surprise you either. -- I thought for sure the Patriots team was dead on arrival. I'll win the broadcast came on and that all the LaMont Jordan wasn't going to play either so no Jordan no Mora and yet. Benjarvis green -- starting to make a believer out of two I think he's an every down every day back every game back now. But do I think he has some value to the team most definitely. Had a yard touchdown run in the third quarter his third scoring on of the season. And so he is play is beginning to win me over a little. -- let's get the matters at hand with the Buffalo Bills are concerned on in mark Kelso who it is on the bills radio network with their and now is joins us here and a Patriots split. Mark thanks again for a few minutes it's greatly appreciated. Mom let me ask you the obvious question that. What's going on with the team having lots of -- out after an outstanding start what would you consider to be the big problem around built right now."
[24:55]" Well you can you can take away years old Los that was just trying got -- GP -- and -- Fairly effective job but but again coming in. Of the game called like a lot of practiced it was very difficult. And they had some success so that -- he came -- right. But Miami game. In my my it was the biggest concern because they just didn't play well against a team that they're better. Personnel wise they seem to every game we complete control early in -- court that let it slip away which is. Not a market for good team this team has demonstrated a lot of great qualities this year. And in the wasn't that what little bright spot a question they come back off that again is subjective I think pretty darn good. Especially playing against the run so things can do defensively and and in really really never got things going as well they need to and then a couple turnovers and been on the negative and that. Give away take away which -- talks about it with -- did not fare well sort of I think there's a couple of reasons. I do think it in this as an excuse because everybody's in the same boat -- some injuries. Or start and six. Some minor problem and that the pats Russia has not been as effective as it was earlier in the year in that is because. Eric show what they get -- big reason like this he's don't expect him back this week. That's a cause for concern this secondary -- I had some issues and we'll have more issues this week that it Whitner injure himself last week I don't what his status will be. This week end everything orchestra was beautiful little bit too and they're getting great push from their. End and I think because some -- that it is not quite Kitna in the offensive line has. As played well in spurts but they have put together their best game yet by any means and and they've got some guys nicked up and and that could be. Yeah -- can be part of the problem letting him but it put together this game is -- continuity and now it's that most guys around with Jason what hopefully to Preston. And because of the injury Brett butler so. Indeed there are very good football team I believe we're going to have to come up with a exceptional effort in England existed in the it's kinda rebounded in and found themselves a little bit after the after the discipline with Brady's injury."
[27:18]" Right and speaking of Aaron Schobel hum how did he end up injuring his foot do you recall. What happened when it happened."
[27:25]" That I do not obviously MF -- there are here last week it. And it's come along but again I don't know that I would expect in this -- I don't know official report is. One goes strike put he's he's a big part I don't know. You know sultan and his political -- we know what it is scorer or. What the what the terms of the injury are what they feel elated that will be -- certainly. -- contribution that this game each key you know less sure hope he has many sick he didn't honestly tech people like it is going to year -- when he. He played. He played terrific really deep in just just play through it many. It again it really understands became an inning in what often was again it was a primer that structure and and pepper primary -- is being -- in -- quite fit in like create a lot of havoc but played extremely well I guess we just want to any. Well look guys in nine year veteran. 39 -- is the media the only he has a Moehler that just subsequently he'll make plays downfield across the other. He's a big part of it deep and very quiet guy but quiet leader I think. I think he brings a lot of table these potentially in the certainly missed him an awful."
[28:38]" He's not out there of 94 is not out there I can assure you Matt Light will be very happy. Right but not a good -- who who normally has been playing in his place."
[28:50]" Well -- they're getting used to Chris Kelsey and Ryan that it used those two guys. Ellis has been useful -- Copeland Bryan. No royalty -- rotate those guys through there as they do it deeper to tackle. -- struck so W as the host of people in that spot sometimes they might with. With three defensive and desperate situation so the use of -- to -- reporters it is."
[29:16]" Defensively as well of for the for the bills I have to admit I've always been a fan of Paul Posluszny and when he was here -- years -- and at that big knee injury is certainly was a devastating blow at the time but that. How is his play how would you characterize his play thus far this year."
[29:30]" They're testing I think he's doing great jab and be considered it at least Italy he spent about seven years he's your guy yeah which is. Like he'd been here forever and a year it will what what -- knee injury time like college."
[29:44]" Pot luck heat yeah lasting injury brokers are now that's right broke the army are rendering and that was that's get an injury was -- college junior college careers in the respect about but he. Yeah is that he has a terrific young I think is important really really well. And -- part of that's because that these such."
[30:05]" had complained so well the last week they didn't play badly by any stretch that mean I think it's offense a lot of for the Jets got the second level that. Little bit more than that I think look and so linebackers were like they were trying to fight off. Some of those off -- saliva to say make tackle and in us and that's why I think the Detroit it was a little more effective last week and then. It had been in previous weeks -- the bills had previously allowed but. I think he's he's really exceptional player understands the game great leader. Strong work ethic just just to really questioned him in this and you know happy to see him as a as the leaders and."
[30:43]" And Donte Whitner is he out for an extended period of time."
[30:47]" I can't can't tell I mean I comment on it put. There's little accuracy to what -- stakes who have -- over one bills drive this week yet. He went out of the game did not return on Sunday so. That's that's really think confirmed it was shoulder separation personal thing but they did not confirm or deny that he would play or not this week."
[31:10]" But suffice to say that everybody walks round with a wounded. And the bills have their fair share."
[31:15]" There's no question the first week of the season that -- knew what people that game with very little take what -- after that. It seems like yeah there's always welcome that bother intensity we can weather those injuries in in players -- the complete person that sponsor. -- find -- successful -- in the year -- teams that -- remain -- the -- There's so many injuries last year that on the Beckett will give it -- because. Yet they have guys a lot of guys have experience and and everybody on the roster has has some extended experience I think because of injuries last year so. So that well it helps somebody asked what are weaker to somebody else's place."
[31:56]" Mark Kelso -- radio network here with a at the playbook offensively and -- it's been a struggle for Trent Edwards. At least -- recently and the Dolphins line seems to have come down all the little problem and try to protect him Ackerley is that due to injury or just total lack of performance."
[32:13]" I think it's a combination of both I think it's not today. Everybody wants to place blame me I'm an -- player a marketplace split. Good I don't even though even as next player I don't know exactly -- blocking schemes or whatever but he was just say this guys screwed up on that play. I studied became a lot of still corset high school level and watched a lot of film or beat to prepare broadcast. I can't tell you who's fault it is 1910%. Of the time because I don't -- its slide protection all protection from their protection or what it is. In in you can give scenarios -- you just don't know I think he offered little artist has been playing well of late but not Wellemeyer off. If that makes sense that they did not the same person every play one play. In these these guys you know one guy blocks really effectively but there's a break -- part of life and inexplicably does his job but. But somebody else's -- able to do what is what was they would like -- in the injuries -- top in in. I hope everybody understands I think to probably do their offensive line as -- critical areas where. Well longevity. Together in this teamwork personal critical to their performance that -- if one -- out. He just he's just don't know exactly how the other guys function and they really have to work this I've person unit in what they do not. It doesn't work effectively I know on Sunday they it appeared as though -- it was a big blitz. But the Jets Jets it picked up the second. In touch of fumble in the I think strong Trent for a little while because of the court came off the edge untouched. -- appear result. That was still running next responsibilities. Stepped up there in. If play -- read what was sort of silent after the play correctly but. Again you don't I wouldn't know less in -- you knew what exactly with the protection scheme was put. Suffice it to say that somebody -- stopped and then don't let that tackle William that was huge -- for the Jets as well but -- accommodation of a lot of things. Guys injured no one I'm not doing the right thing at a particular play then. And some awesome premier pass rush but some teams that have been dropped a lot of guys in coverage in. Concentrate the -- with a little bit more maybe than than he -- likes so. So little by doing it think resolving needed in the hope via the deck but it won't be."
[34:32]" Sure now if not what you just mentioned. What was most disappointing to you in terms of the the of the loss to the Jeff what was the most disappointing aspect of the game where you expected more and it just didn't happen."
[34:44]" I expected more offensive production there's no question about. -- to -- as well but first there's two -- really bother -- one. They yet they drive the ball that's that are red area and and they they they treated Turco will start in the seven or fourteen point swing right there you momentum changer in the game. And in the end it was all visit. Well -- Beckett up patrol football he yes he didn't get a lot of zip bullet because he wasn't able to step into it Roscoe stumbles coming out of this break. For whatever reason I guess -- try to separate trip yourself and so. He's not exactly where it needs to be one ball skills so a lot of unfortunate things but they needed to rebound from that they didn't rebound some. In end that but. Social that aspect of it not. Put in my mind or -- in the in the minds of those players. But the biggest disappointment sure everybody's minds to second base stole the momentum packed with too Parker's big interception. I think you know the writing was on the road -- for the Jets to say. They would get a turnover or get support we need you come out and stop right here you get the ball on the Specter and they're going to be escorted in this ball game. Unfortunately it's that's put together for drug. And and turned it into more -- with -- in in those critical situations handled those so confident that they interminable cycle. And it did not do it is suggests. In that situation that was."
[36:11]" Well mark another your time is short I appreciate -- being a little time with -- today to give his little. In out of the bills and I will look for to a senior this next Sunday."
[36:19]" or. I hope it's good depth from my perspective and not yours obviously. -- hopefully it'll. Yard really I don't know -- speak for the players on this because they want to win obviously but like to see -- great to -- the game and an injury free game. On both sides of the ball awfully that would get it will be entertained and and that -- girls and they were."
[36:40]" little backyard brawl is. Good thank you mark. Thank you to mark also. Who does the analysis on the bill radio network joining us here -- Patriots playbook. I mean you know frankly. I can see where. You know from a Buffalo perspective they get gassed up to complete the Patriots I mean they've basically led the Patriots this entire season. Within the division I'm sure they were some of the fans that were jumping for joy when Tom Brady season opener against Kansas City. Thinking that you know hey we got a shot and everybody else in the division shot now okay that's fine that's football -- the -- you play. And now. After dimensional topic they've lost three the last four they kind of lost whatever advantage. That. They may have gained for themselves. And the Patriots have pulled themselves up disappointing -- on his game and Indianapolis was. Teams find themselves and flat footed and then there the Jets also right there at five and three. I mean it's remarkable to the division you can you can go. Without too much to stretch and saying that the AFC east. Was one of if not the worst division in the entire NFL you're ago. Certainly one of the most competitive if not the best. Division top to bottom in the NFL this year. I think that's remarkable that's remarkable turnaround and really you have the Dolphins and bills and yes even the August yet. -- the Jets. To congratulate for that because they've all they are made. You know basically -- it's pretty good move the bills just improved on what they did last year there are many people that bought the bills. We're pretty good last year. And overnight record just did not show that they lost some close games and you know Trent Edwards you know when he came into becoming quarterback was kind of coming -- it was on that that team was a heck of a lot better than. What they showed. As -- in as an entity for the entire year and they got better toward the end of the year. They just basically kept up the momentum from last year and you knew the Dolphins were going to be worse could you just can't get any worse really than wanted to. Good lord even the Bengals won his last week nobody is going to go always extinct. Detroit might act now to win games somewhere. That when a game somewhere. So it had a better. And of course we all know the Jets made a couple of huge all he's moved up -- which was Brett Favre at quarterback O you know arm. The division caught up a little the Patriots and the catch up -- tolerated. Or accelerated whichever you prefer in the pronunciation guide here accelerated because of Brady's injury no doubt. So we have now is a logjam at the halfway point. All fourteen within one game of each other. There's no other division in the NFL right now all four teams within a game of each other. And certainly there's no other -- a division that. As -- body of 500 or better. Now. I'm kind of curious and I don't know if you party taking the time to look this over. But in terms of remaining schedule eight games left to play for all for these teams who you think has the edge in terms of the remaining schedule. The they have left. Well of the eight remaining opponents for Buffalo and Miami. Miami has the lowest opponent winning percentage. Opponents are only 38 per cent. Combined record of 24 and forty so far this season. Dolphins are going to face I've teams in the last eight games. That have compiled who wins or less this year. He believes that it was Seattle Oakland St. Louis and for his cocaine. Five teams to wins or less each. The a winning percentage of Buffalo's remaining opponent is 45%. One loss organ of 29 and 35 the bills have three games left against teams with three wins or less. Cleveland Kansas City San Francisco. That's amazing. -- You know I think it'll be a monitors in to him Pedro is I'd -- On the west coast on the water with a sure although they were led to believe that they will do that. All the pats in the Jets both each face another. Division leader within the AFC. Patriots of course have a home date with Pittsburgh. And the Jets have to play the Titans on the road. On November the 23 out. Patriots also have another division leader they play in -- west division leading Arizona. Here at home so at least Patriots have both of those games at home. T have to say right now. Miami has the best schedule left ahead of it. Buffalo a little bit ahead of the Patriots and the Jets probably have. The office of because they gotta go on the road play Tennessee. That's fairly difficult. Miami in New York right now are both two and one within the AFC east of the of the best divisional record now with three games left. Buffalo looks like it has a fairly advantageous. Situation but again. I mean from a practical -- does it come right down the last week -- right now and we seventy. Buffalo. Plays New England in the last week of the season in Buffalo. And the Jets play. Miami. Arm. In New York. In the last week of the season. How about that. That's a great way to in the year how how does how does the NFL know that the AFC east Canada itself potentially on the last week of the season. Patriots play at Buffalo. Dolphins play at the Jets. It's amazing that's pretty good. Government has pretty good. Patriot I believe. In this regard. Do have. The better home field the better home schedule over the last several weeks. Are -- slight amount. Mean they do have played two divisional leaders but yes they do have them at home. And all that kind of all gets back to the original point and they -- show where the Dolphins for the team that worries me the most right now. Yes they're four and four against her game back of the three way tie. But they also had the most advantageous schedule of the remaining eight games. Lowest win percentage of amongst all the opponents a lot of that is simply because of the teams they played from coming you know from last year. Because they finished in last they have last place -- From our respective divisions left on their schedule. Again you give the Dolphins credit they picked themselves up others have not as much. Miami. Concerns in Miami should concern I think just about everybody. All the Patriots fan in this particular in. I -- so. Tom just a little bit of the insight as we had with mark tell the Buffalo Bills radio network Brian Lowe will be around to join us -- Albert to the playbook. -- will get inside the only other double here from the build themselves in a Wednesday conference call it this week and -- be happy I'll be here on Thursday hopefully you'll be happy as well and I thank. I think your -- Galileo for sitting in the last couple weeks -- for assisting him last week as well. With my college football travel not to be right here in studio with this Thursday and frankly it's good to get to good old fashioned. AFC east. And family feud coming up on Sunday as the kind of alluded to with the cal -- a moment ago. And I'm looking forward to. Error but it looks -- of the games against family. They mean the most you play a team twice in a year you want to get the advantage especially now that you have a three way tie for the top you have to win. A loss is almost like losing twice. Especially if you lose at home for the Patriots. Going to ask him if we had more time is going to ask him who needs this game on on the most. You can make a compelling argument I think either way. But I will certainly give viewpoint that the Patriots needed the most because like I just said. If you lose it it's like two loss. Number one you fall a game back at them in the standings. And you're already back -- them another game in the in the won loss column. And you gotta go play them. At their home field the last game of the year be very hard to make that a you almost have to you know hope you win two they lose to entered her overly make it up. I think it means more the Patriots you have to win the games at home. Now Buffalo it's -- good point you know that lost three of four. They don't such a great start there -- a little bit lately you know they need to do something to right the ship otherwise they -- this ship think. And -- rapidly. As they into the second half of the season I you know certainly possible that story. And Patriots because -- home at home you have to defend the home field. You have to win the divisional games at home more than any other game on your schedule yes you have a chance to make it up. Thought that we all know how difficult it normally is to do that. When the home games. Where in the divisional games. Which puts a double whammy on home divisional games does that not. Are a couple of other things that I wanted to get to his wealth from the Colts game. On Sunday pardon me for -- bouncing back and forth living here in the way to get in -- emails that you take the time right again. Lots of different things to write about today okay you're just joining us in the program. I'm joined us late last several email topic delve into number one because it is Election Day we're doing our own Patriots dot com. Exit poll. Patriots fans who did you vote -- God bless. You can be anonymous if you like original -- today are you ready for some football Newton I think he will be very shortly problem. I hope that you'll share I mean maybe maybe not much of Patriots fans poses a football thankful bowl. Would you vote for -- where did you vote -- from Portugal and if you haven't voted -- tell -- where you're going to vote and who you are going to vote for today. For president especially Europe at the US and you cast idea. He cast absentee. That's number one number two nit -- Tuesday what's your biggest nit to pick from Sunday night. Gave you mine it was the aborted a fourth down timeout. Field goal attempt you know where you get the field goal what you should have probably gone for at and T shirt -- wasted the time now. But as you needed it late in the game -- Patriots proved they did. That was my biggest -- topic. And then of the three trains. In the AFC east on the Patriots. Down the stretch run as we've hit the halfway point of the season. Which of the three teams concerns you worries you the most Jets bills Dolphins. Web radio at Patriots dot com email address 5 wait 5437482. Is the telephone numbers -- all caught up to date now you got a lot of things to write about I hope that you take a minute -- about each one of those topics because I'm sure you have some opinions. Nobody here is short of opinions. Your opinions are what make the program go your opinions are what give us opinions or we can tell you what we're thinking and then of course you can respond to watch. Take the time to us citizen don't let us know how you're thinking how you're feeling it and a you know like there's no wrong answer the only wrong answer is the one that you don't. And -- couple of other things from the other night I mentioned Benjarvis Green-Ellis. Scored a touchdown in what three of his games that he played -- he's actually give the Patriots a little more of a ball from the offensive backfield and I think anybody had a right. To expect and so that's certainly a positive. Coming out of an otherwise dismal night on Sunday. Kelley Washington also continues to Ellis special teams and began to realize what is special player. He really is on special teams. Flies to the ball. He's usually one -- if not the very first player. Onto the ball carrier. On punt team bomb would love to see him get another shot at wide receiver but quite frankly it is what it is right so. I just wanted to point that out because a lot of times those guys don't get credit that -- Washington think is doing a superb job. And absolutely superb job. Bum. The offensive line. I thought was pretty doggone solid. Against the Colts. Colts are not the Colts of old. Com. But that it pretty effective job of keeping Dwight Freeney and company out of the backfield all allowing Matt Cassel plenty of time in the pocket. Probably -- got sacked one time. Not that I can call them ahead and I'm not looking any number -- And I thought run blocking was superb mean Patriots. Out rush the Colts a 140 yards to 47 on the ground. And that was with Joseph Addai back in the lineup so -- the Patriots run because -- was solid I have to -- and kudos Dolphins applied which has been maligned. Thus far this season. Not only keeping Cassel a private basically because -- that they haven't. Blocked well and all running short passing and maybe it has a lot to do the -- Stephen Neal as I suggested several weeks ago here -- Stephen Neal is playing more and more and he got the dark of the night for Billy it's a better offensive line with a more athletic player out there and that is Stephen Neal period. This team is now this -- the first game. He gave 81 game all year that the team had starting line from a year ago intact and relatively healthy -- catcher was out there as well. And look what happened. They looked more like the -- line from a year ago. So don't ever underestimate. In some of these guys in the office wander all back together now the team is together the unity is there. Who we have every reason to believe now that as long as they can stayed relatively helping that -- is going to continue to improve. And we bit of improvement every week format and it happened again this last week. Back the Patriots lost on Sunday it was not -- well not a bit. I think it's time though to unleash a little bit on offense I think you know. He's basically taking what opposing defenses give him and you know for one of the few times in recent years. I heard something extremely poignant come out of the mouth of John Madden. -- was basically talking about how. When Tom Brady is the quarterback. -- When Tom Brady's quarterback Tom has a way of taking things. And of course -- Matt Cassel is the quarterback he has a way of just you know. Take you with the team gives you -- Brady conversely takes what every wants. And I paraphrase he basically -- that but he's actually right about that. He's actually a 100% right about that Brady take in every want cast was taken what he'd get. And I'd like to see the Patriot. Josh mcdaniels in particular. I'd like the Patriots now continued that learning curve -- Matt Cassel. And allow him to take some chances -- getting what he want. Out of the offense as opposed to just taking what a team gives you. This whole Patriots offense last year is predicated on taking whatever they wanted. That's the biggest difference between this year. And -- I'd like he -- have the opportunity. To have the chains taken off on offense and allow him. To go find these guys now granted. Granted lot of teams are taken Randy Moss replied I mean we sought on and I thought NBC did a pretty good job this -- We all them. Roll over a safety from time to time make sure that Moss was not going to go uncovered. But the nitpick I guess that I really -- that the Patriot. The entire first I didn't think one shot at Randy Moss when you have to walking wounded that -- and guy that they picked up off the street last week starting at cornerback for the Colts. Are you can't make and you don't take one shot -- one. They could not have possibly done that good -- job defending him -- extra safety in the first. That's what I mean by unleashing a little on -- Let Cassel take shots down field. That doesn't work fine regroup the next got to come back and take what the defense will give you. It's time to unleash the -- though when it comes to Matt Cassel. We're going to continue to him improving get a little bit better he need to have that confidence that he can go down field. He did of course try to go down -- want Jabar Gaffney dropped it. I don't think that should keep them from allowing him to go downfield. Again. And again and again. He's in these -- seize my opportunity to go downfield. But seemed that now finally. Be able to play the same calls and the St. personnel that Tom Brady had. I think we're just now getting to that point in this season. What he can do. Web radio act Patriots dot com 585437482. Is the telephone number. I'd not entirely sure they deserve drop over but it did the number two. Although I guess organized and -- they did. Tech has local state this week which will be difficult because this is going to be a big come down from them connect -- now we're going to learn what take that really made of bouncing back and playing a really good Oklahoma State team that almost beaten them -- And then after that they got to go play Oklahoma. -- Ellis Texas -- Texas Tech has Baylor and the way they play at Kansas. And they opened in the closed with a NM. So I mean all all taking -- it was lose won yet. And then you have at worst a three way tie. And the team with the highest ranking in the BCS wins the division title. -- it's going to be tech a radio. So anyway art informative afterwards it's not going to be OU. Arm. Are let's give him emails that I have been boy too long and over. Do these things and folks have been kind enough to send their thoughts here below I I actually asked folks in the opening our. 23 different questions now to get -- off on number one -- like today yeah. I don't were doing them up Patriots exit polling you know are not Patriots fans or. And that affable it's because I do know that we do get fans from other teams listening from time to time special teams over upcoming opponent but the bills fans in. We've -- Colts fans was in the past and like that's so football -- who'd you vote for. Where he'll live where you voting from if you haven't voted yet where are you going to vote later tonight okay and -- you vote for that's number one number two -- nit pick for Saturday. I mean for Sunday night nit -- for Sunday night I my biggest nit pick was the the called time out. On the may fourth down and hit. A field goal when they should have gone for the touchdown. Or at least the first out that was my biggest nit pick at number 3COM. Of the three teams -- the -- and halfway point okay. Pavlik one of the of the season through eight weeks. Through eight games for the nine weeks of the three teams in the AFC east which one worries you the most down the stretch bills Jets or Dolphins. I suggested Dolphins because Miami has the easiest schedule. Of anybody over the last eight weeks and the Patriots have to play in Miami."
[1:08:51]" Well the question is which of the three -- like you're the most of these upcoming three game is that what you mean yes he does what do you -- you gotta stretch run -- of these three teams which team worries you the most -- for the second half which I. I don't think the Dolphins are going to. Necessarily be there and last week he number on angling for division a spot to win the division. But I do think of these next three games at Miami is the one that worries me tomorrow. It definitely does that mean I I I happen to think the Patriots going to. Yeah it would take care of the bills fairly easily I think the bills are. They're catching the bills at a good time on it Edwards who has certainly guys you'd been -- a bit of a roller coaster here and he's on the the downward spiral right now. And I certainly don't think they're going to lose the Jets -- I think Miami is going to be the toughest one that the pesky team on you know. Aside from what the Dolphins that the Patriot here in September I don't think we're going to see that same type of game. On but the Patriots -- we have trouble down Miami. And I think that's going to be the type game where. On you know. Ronnie Brown is is it is a tough tough got a handle on Pennington. Has had that -- specially here in September. And I think -- road games all road games as I said from the -- Are going to be tough for the Patriots they played very well against Andy on what they're all going to be down the wire and I of these next three. It's the one that Miami would -- as of right now. All right the back it up then you Leemire nitpick from Sunday -- it's it's it's what you said on the on the timeout on I just felt like there were there were just in character I kind of felt. The same way I did is after the Super Bowl they were an uncharacteristic. On decisions made mental lapses and lapses as is -- you know and and physical and mental lapses I mean obviously David Thomas played. It's uncharacteristic. Patriot. You're gonna get penalties. Arguing not. I guess with the one exception of Wilfork. As much discussed they're not usually that type of penalty yet Jabar Gaffney who you know he hasn't had a lot of opportunities this year put in the past. Fairly short needed guys he's not a guy that will be at the top mileage though he's going to drop passes each catch. I'm and then and then some of the coaching decisions on the overall team otherwise I'd have much of problem with. The challenge the challenge to play the twelve I don't feel it is like that was going to did you and it was going to be worth the risk it seems to me. On and then to go for you know that it was short characteristic he telecheck. Any sort of anything close to a panic mode he's in on the DL BM -- in as it turned out on. I didn't like that decision and be the explanation afterwards was what we we thought it was very fortunate very short it turned out it was fourth and one. It was an explanation and they didn't get."
[1:11:44]" Seemed that I did what exactly it kills me though that they called like get a special because they blew a timeout on the challenged. Which was dominant again what I got a bad call from the press box on the twelve player on the field challenge that -- bad call."
[1:11:57]" It was the reward going to be worth it you know I added to the as the rewards -- worth there was -- going to be a matter of of not a lot of yardage I don't think that it would have. On loss on that they would gain on that but you know. I think you can have confidence in in in the play calling on the it was fourth and inches or fourth and one. With the court next -- turned out it looked like they had it on. It just the way it all the way it all their best if they want that he's kicked a field goal and not -- for not goal for the first down. It's understandable it's it it's a three point game immediately tied game rather -- getting no points and and that but I felt like. Like you set -- could -- 35 seconds there I don't understand why I didn't realize that it was fourth in which you won that rather than it is. On so that was yeah that was a a little problematic. I honestly didn't find there'd be too much to -- in the game other than the obvious and we've touched on all the up Daphne. David Thomas from the coaching decisions. Auburn and we're we're would you you know defensively. I thought they did a very good job defensively. In this sense. When you're going up against Harrison. Wayne Clark. Gonzales. Died and obviously Peyton Manning and you come to that team with among others your quarterback to Mike Richardson apparently credible. You're not going to shut down all of them in if you tell me that at the end of the game like that. The worst team that you can get a two touchdown game by Anthony Gonzales I'm going to say that you probably going to be you're gonna win that game. 75% of the time and don't they shut down the one completely as many teams that against the Colts at this point here for a guy and it run and it running game. And you know that he meaning team was. Almost like -- shorter more you know keep -- short short pass game. On these teams the teams had long -- drives and that's kind of the way the Patriots felt they would be able to win this game would be. Dot let meaning unload that these high profile wide receivers who have done the Patriots in the past -- it. And that offensively. You know Patriot -- Keep it short. They pick their spots and going deep in should've had a Gaffney one. They ran the ball well especially known who had going to. On the red zone that's really the area. I guess if we -- have another nit -- the area that they need to shore you're going to be situations down the stretch. And in -- even more important games in what they just had where they're going to need to get touchdowns more often three point. In the red zone in crunch time situations they've got to prove that it can only do that. On fortunately you can get out key is a mobile quarterback at this point and when he lines up the -- on he's going to make it. As it turns out right now about 94% of the time trying to 9595. You feel pretty confident with nineteen point it right ninety points in 95% I'd feel pretty confident with him. You're going to need evidence that a three. I've heard junctures down for -- on you know I give -- credit for the way he's improved. The way he's been able to manage the team and the way he you know there was that stretch about a month ago where you are -- Kevin O'Connell pocket started hearing. The is an act now until the job that's all got it probably never really existed and there was no sign that. It was really going to -- it up that's all gone now and I give him credit. -- never won. -- bet any of that was bothering him or that it doesn't mean that he had all regains its just stretch -- I'm talking about you know. Between the Miami. Francisco scene Diego and that -- 112. Through terrible losses they had their -- there's even more time got it. I'm leading up to that Denver game. And since that he's played very well. You gotta give him credit for never once showing any signs that he was bothered by -- criticism or that he over shoulder and don't. The -- it's not like we knew going in that this guy would be affected by that it was good to see that he's not ecstatic criticism. He can persevere through that again it. He's not the quarterback right now that's going to single handedly win games. Probably not going to put you in position to lose too many games managing the game that's -- you want. I'm but the red -- where they're going to need to pick it up as you can eat right they're getting -- it is all the -- reason for the legal for them on fourth down that particular instance because they needed to be more aggressive in the -- that was the point that I had -- That would have been -- you're you're right about that and and that was you know you're down by three. I I do wonder I I am in the approach it is still anywhere when we're with an -- game it was a lot there were down like three on it was only third right -- I would want to actually there it was late third. I under in the approach at that time -- hate this is going to be tight game even the score right now hold them the next like that but all things being equal. Fourth and 14 and inches. It's a -- If you're below -- have a competent quarterback in team deal that. [1:20:59]" Who the heck knows I mean it next season but not both like worry too much meat he performs well over the and the great thing about this what. At this point last year. I don't know too many people knew Ryan Grant. You at running back you can come from out of nowhere. Perform well for eight weeks of the season right green started the year last year on the giants' practice squad right now news on the Packers threatened -- stranger things have happened. Then a running back coming in. And taking hold of his teams are running back position for whatever reason and being you know the be all -- all -- going into the next year. And I think Benjarvis Green-Ellis is that guy this year. On it's way too early to see what the makeup of the team will be next year between Roney was on IR word yet next year on you know anymore as a veteran on it's way too early to say. Let's focus on this year and your comment there about Danny. On he does look very good harder asked water. That I heard I heard don't -- that. Don't check -- alike -- for him is that law firm I don't know who originated out one on an. I know that was that on the un and be right on you actually had heard in the Long Island. I don't know -- hurt. Any -- any hill right -- you know PGA GE is one way at Iowa when it but he he looks very good very confident very comfortable in 81 those. You know. Not having pressure on tight is that as an undrafted free agent who comes in and sure in his locker room one through 53 are all considered the same. Benjarvis Green-Ellis got a first opportunities a couple we gotta run the ball. What's he got to -- he is going out there in doing his thing he's not worried about you know is he going to get pulled from the game on contract. And and maybe Maroney wise and he clearly Maroney I think a lot of it was up top mentally. And I don't know much about Benjarvis Green-Ellis. But the way he's playing -- a guy who was nothing to lose who's out there to play hard hit hard run hard and that's what he's doing. In -- the offensive line has also improved in recent weeks in every aspect. -- run blocking passed ball that pass protection and not keeping alive. On you know on those -- they feel maybe they have felt the pressure recent weeks in the sense of hate -- down several men -- running back. Cassel -- getting hit hard weeping criticized we got to pick up. Not to maybe a few of those things it just all kind of come together and Benjarvis Green-Ellis is a bit of the yeah he's taking advantage of that he's looked good. Better than anyone -- and could expect in coming into the season has basically the sixth string running back. On you performed well. I'm I'm not worried about next year on dual fuel that if Benjarvis Green-Ellis is in position to twelfth to fifteen carries a game dealt -- this year. That he'll get the job done argue week to week I think one week -- look good I mean last week against St. Louis he scored a touchdown but he didn't have much yardage. This time he gets in pretty good yardage scores a touchdown again. On the he's looking good better than expected on diesel could use him anymore indoor LaMont Jordan on because I don't know if you want to go -- much longer. With this guy. As you know one tiger omni point. You know I mean hey you've accomplished college running back and -- is at running back on sometimes you can find a guy off the proverbial scrap -- And didn't get the job done fewer."
[1:24:20]" And because of the advocate that the James in England as it strikes me that the coach that doesn't trust castle in key situations in the game. Maybe it's just me but it seemed that when the pats are in third along and they nearly always run the ball. First drive of the game pats were at third and seven might have been third and six and we run the ball was the same. A few of the drives including the drive at the end of the game what was certain very long. Went up throwing on fourth and long after the -- seems to me that in key -- the -- does for a -- What do you guys think and if you think I'm right surely Cassel would have noticed and -- can't be good for his confidence level. Arm I don't know that does."
[1:24:57]" As side dramatic as as saying that they run every time I mean I I I think you know I'd get that I've got that that the play by play right front mean you're right that first 13 six remember. I -- remember exactly what was going on a third exit at zero point five it was a Faulk run up the middle. But I -- 33. David Thomas for eleven yards. There was a 35 he coasted Moss for nine yards on the or couple times three scramble. Were you looking to pass through the passing play in the -- open. I'm there's no question he doesn't you know they're not putting in a position and ask him to throw in the game type situations is Brady there's no need to yet on and sometimes the ball again Kevin Faulk is third on -- obviously. Third and short situations get the ball at him boxed in I think they like what you can do whether it's or run plays short dump off you know throw on flat on. But I think we're seeing more and more than capsules getting. On the full reigns of the off then. Non not unloading the same way to Tom Brady has in the past but I think more more which seemed accurate and confidence in in castle. From what the coach -- in the players. And you know what whatever the depth chart how many times and purchased through 13 down I think we're going to more and more that that capsules going to be a limit the right decision on those down. Bomb and there's more trust in him."
[1:26:16]" Fan in Germany there are running of the second time I have a question about the treatment the pass from great on stopping the rushing of the cold. But they -- series issues when it came down to preventing big play. With Rodney Harrison out of the season wouldn't make sense to re signed John Lynch. I mean Sanders and Meriweather of good players for the can't replace Harrison which has more experience in the two of them and is like Harrison to one or you're tacklers. In the NFL."
[1:26:39]" We'll go to think though it needs to resign -- they would have done it would have done it by now right what are you waiting for. It obviously isn't as good a good idea whether that's because his two week here in training camp he proved that he doesn't have anymore. On or -- just because they'd rather go if if if John Lynch at the age of whatever years right now and Antoine man. I -- at the level he is right now if if all things are equal. And it once and 25 year old that legs and I am on his special teams work is going to be better than John what's the point. Trust me if John Lynch what a guy that could step right in and fill Robert -- his shoes he'd be he'd be here. He yeah I would tend to agree I was one of those -- wouldn't hurt to have to bring them in but. They obviously didn't think that he could do anything for the long or at least for the short term the season. More -- than what they already had in and I'm not saying this is like hey what Bill Belichick at that that there's nothing behind what Bill Belichick says that the day after Rodney Harrison got hurt. And went on IR. And day. -- the added into once banned from the practice squad Bill Belichick was questioned -- heartache was John Lynch a possibility to two BI. And all Belichick that was. We added it -- from the practice squad that's how we feel. That's how that was the -- the roster -- change from having Rodney Harrison on IR. There is no doubt that if John Lynch was a guy that could help the team more so than the alternative in this case and point and number 47 would be in uniform last week and the week before. Bottom line that's the bottom line John Lynch for whatever reason. Not candidate he keeper Ty Law we've seen quarterbacks go out we talked about the recent weeks if Ty -- Would be able to help the team right now he'd be here and Jonathan Wilhite would have to find another number because 24 wouldn't I -- time slots that's the bottom line. Obviously Ty Law -- right now in the NFL he told me that. 32 teams not one of them could use healthy Ty Law healthy Ty Law will be still like obviously the guy can't play. I don't -- IQ I I'd seen him work out recently I don't I can't say that in my video work of him from the last what twelve months tells me can't play. It was like Ty Law is on the street right now. He can't quite -- help any team. So as I don't think that's the thing and and and this team. It's not a three to bring an -- he Evans in November Jabar Gaffney in October on a guy who's the other the Artrell Hawkins was another one of those kinds of guys. On they're not afraid to bring in these guys if they can help the team. On in this if this year with the injuries they've had a secondary if one of those two guys or someone else that it would help them agreement. Instead it rather have a guy like Richardson are excellent candidate around the team all the way through. Offseason training camp everything on into step right in hungry for job stepping in and they'll -- live and die with them though go through that they're willing to go through a couple of Mike Richardson growing pains. Even in the shook durable right encounter this twelve men on the field on -- situation and it's not like at that moment. They're processing all the information as if they've never even considered. This scenario okay how what if we win the challenge. What is the benefit if we lose his job they sort of have a feel for that. And you know. It's a risk reward kind of thing you know the penalty is if you don't win you lose a time out time -- could be valuable. I don't think there's anything wrong with questioning whether or not need the right decision there. And sure hindsight 120 of them very short period of time that make this decision on -- like for a -- to call we have the benefit of replays when you're watching on TV. But the big plate -- really have to rotate your veteran receiver in the game where there wasn't you know they were having trouble getting into the end zone. The play you have to make he was able to do it on. But he's the kind of guy that you know I think I I don't put him in the spot that I don't think he's -- beyond a still. Hole reliable yeah well I hope they get a chance on them again I and I I feeling they probably will Sunday yeah you know in my in my -- one of those cases where it did it to him it'd get out of."
[1:47:57]" out is listed by the squiggles yet. John. Let's continue and is. Yes of course I'm kidding but this is the only way I can cope with bill making mistakes because it just doesn't happen. I'm worried mostly about Miami it's weeks away but I want to -- go to Miami and his ultimatum I want Joey -- only comment after the game to be."
[1:48:16]" One. Leah Porter Porter backed up his comments last time coming here we and it went three actor for me -- gave him. On -- that team is proving to be tough out I'm telling -- Patriots fans don't don't need to hear that they know but -- is. Probably more of a surprise in the bills being five. -- Miami one India fifteen last year just. A train wreck and yet they bring in Pennington is good quarterback that you bring him in if you bring him in in August and you know. Ronnie Brown coming off an injury in the -- Not a great team a request marked the fact they're 44 is very impressive. On an -- fired up and making it showed that did the win over New England into it wasn't a fluke -- on and Paronto clearly is the kind of guy who rallied the troops. That's going to be tough game for the."
[1:49:07]" The real. Strippers. Isn't as -- does he voted. Voted for Harrell to Crabtree for player of the year. And alert -- what do you well Brian what do you Herbert yeah dot standup guy. You recruited Danica passed a fifth I don't I don't think you actually want and are only and are right -- and a New -- to conduct brought no not at all -- took over the and then yes OK here we -- William why I tried to avoid football after a loss burst off. I know you have to your job if they win -- I can -- on the negatives if I nitpick on the negatives I get depressed in those negatives cost the game. If I enjoyed the positive I feel like Mary Todd Lincoln discussing how good the acting was at bat like. I also opened her thumb fooling myself for example relief. Did Vince Wilfork look good only because passing over him was so easy."
[1:50:06]" Vince Wilfork look good because passing over him with so we waited a I don't short yeah yeah I don't know I'm not really sure where that comes from. Okay he -- his point is is that he tries to avoid football for a bit after -- because he just it's too emotional and he does in these third innings not rational."
[1:50:24]" Well you know you can have all the things in your life that you pay attention to on Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays and wait for next game later on but. It's healthy eater you know to analyze dissect the losses while. I don't know hours go without one but. You know mark in upstate New York is John I voted for Obama. So yeah it was a voting -- of the one on which time really right time is running down --"
[1:50:51]" Okay fellas -- Scott well that's an ego."
[1:50:56]" Okay good. So we head of the people who responded. And voted. -- took care to share their votes with today Evans were Obama for for McCain won for bar. Barack Obama -- noticed more bar. So the -- does make you feel to comment about tonight does -- are we a little microcosm of society as a whole. Go where the unwashed masses of the and judgment that a man up before one yeah 747 out of five of 1211 out of twelve just over 50%. Well apparently that's a -- I mean frankly that's what a lot of the -- I think the last pull all last night. From NBC head. Brock at Obama -- 51% of McCain at 43."
[1:51:46]" That's no bugs. And just mean I mean -- country rally around one suppose currently more high. Don't forget don't forget if you liked her eyes resembling more. That's motivation to go away. You know I give her a lot of credit for being goofed on and have in the guest appearance Saturday Night Live to. You know I just I I think that was a standup thing to -- I don't think it was that -- great thing to do but it was standup thing for -- and both McCain and Obama had the guts to appear crisper halftime. I was near L isn't near as bad is going on SNL. -- with a like to kill you know. That was pretty cool anyway aren't a lot how to Patriots today what we got Patriot."
[1:52:31]" Today we are wrapping up the Indy game -- talk a little bit about what we talked about that Newcastle I feel like at the mid point he's in he's. I'm not boring is no more is Kevin O'Connell going to jumping and he's got making some strides here in the and in the stats are shown it. I'm talking about that we got a good feature that actually originally appeared all access with Heath Evans who's got a very. In a very important positives -- Falcons pretty -- pretty good -- Kristina Akra involvement while. And so we've got a good Tuesday I could use a little bit -- With some of the guys had to say average here in the studio W yeah yesterday and on and -- we start to what sports are critical three game. It's the all if you stretch and how much more come out game leading up."
[1:53:15]" At a top of the show that this this three weeks was the -- practical purpose and it is at its you know and the AFC -- right now that it could be even after these three games. That nothing really has decided odd because of how -- is but if the Patriots can go to water we threw it. You take that inning -- commanding lead and they can be back in a familiar position exactly -- right after -- the stretch is that we're going to be huge game against Pittsburgh for what could be. Very critical AFC. Playoffs I think they have to win the three division games have they win the three division games and they go and they are than eight in three yeah. -- will be for eating. That game will be for eating. Ocean or the pitcher we going to quit and we think -- three in the game with Pittsburgh could be. For a guy for a -- absolute -- yeah absolutely could be for a -- so that's what Patriots into Portland yet and it's you know it's a real interesting because how tight to him last year he had their three game. In a row against the division. On you on you are now this is -- Buffalo, New York and Miami all have. Thoughts of getting the so -- could be three tough games on very stretch and and and and you know through the three at home that day. On two home games within a five day and I hope the PA announcer has. You know. Has water and isn't it as his voice in good shape that if it and poker. Well let's hope. Yeah that area appears Jason and at -- yeah just all right they just put it in the script because you know I read what I what's written. I normally could play -- and -- thirty years of like that I probably -- that I support the could be a revolution playoff game and it at that time as well so you really. You're really better away low only a goal and you shut Chicago out right threat on Thursday. -- I believe in the hall of Bryan Morry is next but. It should be but it never shows up so. Papers Monday republic okay -- ago. And at tomorrow's program. Will get to conference calls with the -- players and our thanks to a mark -- from Eagles radio network for a givens and looked at the bill today and we'll get more of that on tomorrow's program in that time."
