[0:00]" Bruschi looking very Donnie Wahlberg likely I. -- a good all right doing all right at the time off. Refresh the body the mind now back to work tomorrow. How long does in general view I'd get past game win or loss mean mentally. To stop a three year I think. If you got them and to go back to another another opponent maybe two. To focus on it pretty quick went -- Thursday -- little -- I think -- little bit longer than -- So. I mean over the weekend think about it a little bit longer than just Tuesday off then back and it Wednesday. So you know. Getting here now disorder one -- Miami again and and get ready for another phone. -- and you well enough to know you're not real big on moral victories. Yeah a win -- the win in moral victories don't don't count the scorecard gravity. -- earlier in my career the first few years in the first and third year -- if you're still trying to get better as the players something like that but I mean now. Pretty much a lot of the guys on the team pretty much more of the veterans on the team just is really have one goal in mind I mean we're not. Where -- about any time for individual accolades or anything like that which is wanna we want to win football games in you know win championships."
[1:24]" I was going to go back to the whole idea because I I heard some your comments after the game. Okay you weren't real pleased with what happened here is as anybody would be. And you didn't want to hear about how good the comeback was -- like that you wanted to know did we win or lose."
[1:39]" Yeah they wanted an innocent they wanted to make some positives about the game the media in the locker room after after the game talking about. You know the fight we showed or you know the play of Matt Cassel of the play and the ethic I thought I -- my thought -- had a great game also. They wanted to focus on that but I you know you know if you even if you -- matter if you restaurant themselves as as. As players and individuals okay I had a good game sure but that's not really their goal also. And then they want to make improvement and that and -- give it one faith that they can they can play football though my back or quarterback whatever position may be but. I think we have a good. Good presence inside the locker room how we're all on the same page and even though he had the what we do have. A pretty big a number of of younger players in the locker room now I think there are focused on one goal and that's win football games also."
[2:27]" I do want to ask -- to -- and in some of the younger linebackers. I'm sure they learn a lot from from you from year wisdom in your experience in the NFL. You -- anything from them is even if it's the the form of a question that. He never really heard anybody phrase it that way because there's so and experience in my basket where Gavin product is there anything. Owens and learning Owens -- learning like emptied meet techniques or anything like that but. I sort of -- an example being on the field during the game we're during practice I'll I'll talk to -- how I still need him to I don't need him to communicate back to me. Micah we want we we we -- communication out there especially at the inside linebacker level you know between two guys that are playing so. At first it all sort of a one way street when he when he gets when he when he gets early you know constantly making calls and communication and giving him reminders of things like that. To the point where. Even a couple of weeks ago my cage right now money Judah and -- tell me if if my -- not deep enough or does or as a reminder at a coverage -- minors and give me those keywords also. And that's where I think a player of my experience can still they'll feed off a player of that young like to ride because as a communications sort of evolve and so. Sort of a circle and it goes back and forth. I mean how how how much better he he and I can both Diaz as sort of hand and away that shows how much respect you have form because if you if you didn't have respect for you wouldn't want him to say anything to you because."
[3:58]" Really what what he had to say that if there had -- at -- players and here are some backers in the past where it's you know you. You know the communications should just be one way. I thought that yeah. And then FA and sometimes if they want to communicate that you just shake your head and this sort of waved that off because you know that sort of that's sort of not the correct thing to do but as long as you've got them on the same page -- that that can't that can't happen but that to ride the guy that I think. I think he's he sort of yeah as a whole package he's -- intelligence -- Early in the year I talked about his attitude. Now talking about intelligence because I think he's physical attributes are obvious but I mean for him also give me. Some feedback and communication helps me out on the field."
[4:45]" Going game specific with communication the issue on the third and fifteen conversion in overtime where it sounded like bill was trying to get some guys to back away from the line of scrimmage. But maybe guys away from him on the other sideline we're hearing -- was saying without part of the problem."
[5:00]" I thought our communication could have been better on that -- so. Possibly not on the everyone not on the same page at the same time you -- or not they're trying to get communicated what he wanted to do. Some guys -- forty yards away you know some guys right there next to him so and all we're trying to get -- if there was if there was one player in the game you can point to I think he would be that they're fifteen -- talking about time and we do a great job on on first down I think Pierre I think Pierre got a acumen. Don't you stop them on second down you come into a third and fifteen. You get in a punt that ball and they're deep in the territory and often it's gonna have good field position. And third and fifteen is is highly advantageous to the fans in terms of percentage and so to get to see it sort of made just like that sort of sort of easily not not throw that was really content that is something that's very disappointing."
[5:52]" and I it was also Troy Brown night. Is that tough for you guys as players and me because I would think Troy Brown eyes more for the fans I game you can't really. Go out there at halftime and acknowledged Torre the way you would want you. When he got to second half the play and write that note this is not really possible because. You've just got to a bunch of adjustments that are just been told you in your head in and you worried about going out there loosened enough and that. Don't get your blood flowing again get me where the second half and that. And also with us we sort of had sort of had our Troy bound toward brown -- when he came in Boca went before he addressed the media about his retirement. He had a sort of a private meeting with us that he spoke to spoke to the team and a lot of guys got to -- laughing with him so I think that I was about. It is his opportunity give appreciation to the fans in the stadium and -- he talked about only having one Jersey hangs in his -- Yeah you're in the same situation one Jersey hanging in your closet the Patriots Jersey. And on the other side there's a guy you played with. Who played on Thursday Ty Law. Who not only has a couple of yards in the closet but one of the green and white for the Jets can you ever imagine. Not only leaving the Patriots playing for the Dolphins are playing for the Jets and it just seems. Like. It's it's it's unimaginable actually I can't even candy and I don't. I don't see it I don't see it happening you know at. I think I've I've worked hard and made decisions along my entire career to. To make a concerted effort here. And so. I mean me being in my thirteenth year or two ago. Plea Weiner another year's somewhere else -- I would go to wear another uniform would be very very strange for me that's it anyway."
[7:46]" I'm always curious how halftime adjustments. Because defensively you guys looked so much better. In the second half they needed in the first snap out of it come up with a long drive. Ultimately win in overtime but but for the most part the defensive play I thought which was much better. What was different what changed what did you guys do differently at halftime that you brought out on the field."
[8:07]" I think I think this last time was was about to order reaffirm reaffirming everything that we were doing that. That the run game they were doing sort of what we expected. And so you really have to almost like we know what they're doing this is what we expected them do and now we just have to go out and play play ourselves better play better execute what we're we're trying to accomplish out a little bit better. The first half I think they were doing a good job of possibly. Winning on first and second down and a and a win by meeting. You -- three years you know 45 yards on first down and all of a -- second five. He gained about two more on on second down Nelson's third three and 33 is is a situation where the offense really can just. Do anything in the playbook they can put in the short yardage package to run in the can spread out and possibly just sort over the protect down to get three -- to Iowa to get him in in third and long situations in. And really just put the more pressure on them. And second half of them we wanted to do and I think getting those those few. Q three and outs to start the game I think we get a good job of that in the in the second half and I think it was just that finish and finish in you know what we had planned all along to do."
[9:18]" Brett Favre is a little -- than most quarterbacks anyway at least as I watch it seemed like he talks more guys on the other team but he seems that. Chat more with veteran guys. A mock tournament and yet I. I had a feeling I could see him talking to you'd while the -- going on where maybe some -- he wouldn't he wouldn't necessarily talked to Jerod Mayo like a team -- and you wallets don't."
[9:38]" The and yeah I think yeah. You just see a guy for so long and you feel like you know each other and you know he's been in this league forever and when you when yet you constantly not only when you constantly play against people maybe if -- in this in the same division Hubert. You constantly sort of viewing their career as -- plays out you know on on TV aura. Or through the through that meteors onto my dad in the and that and that. And the various challenges he has or anyone has in their in their career you know used as it as a professional you still he still view that you use your your fellow professionals and sort of how their career has gone Soria. You know just seeing him for so long that probably him just being around for so logs in pass play for a line in the that we can't so it's sort of like a mutual respect. They'll ask you earlier about halftime adjustments. When it comes to halftime. Are they adjustments for the most part more like a review because I've seen. The coaches. Adjusting after the first series after the second or third day it'll certainly wait until halftime. Say we need to start doing this. Yeah they're they're at times or what we will make sideline adjustments minute halftime the justice to sideline adjustments and and in between series their -- also -- so that's where everybody a there's a place on the bench for the linebackers is placed on the bench for the defensive lineman defensive backs and our our correspondent coach is always come up to listen and sort of over the previous series that we went through. And I think the first thing that that our coaches do at halftime they huddle up you know as players you know you go in the area. He's totally in the zone and all of a sudden you know piece of c'mon present that have been changed he he has for a that's sort of that's their locker room procedure how it -- at halftime."
[11:35]" As a as a captain and leader on this team. How do you ensure that that no feeling seeped into that locker room along the lines of what -- band gets which -- How many more of these injuries can we overcome and other guys down all out there today -- down there so and so. How do you prevent that from seeping into -- room."
[11:54]" Well I think you just you just focus on. On who's playing now in the you can't really. We've we've never been a team to dwell on the past and sort of -- on the pastor of of which -- we've won or lost and also what players we've we've lost or gained. So who we really have to accept whoever's in there and and sort of look at them that you know we expect you to do the job you know you know we've -- the -- we've -- but -- here's Brandon you know we have -- you've been here -- here's -- here's Pierre -- now -- your time that your opportunities he just let them know that you have -- faith in them and I think that. They sort of show you that they're ready you know one practices I was going to do you have faith in them yet did you say it but you feel right that you don't want them to show you you know I mean. I mean appears done. Most of most of his work on special teams and I think -- interviewed pre season also glad that we know what's in him but he knows he knows himself from it will be the first today that he's got to be the one that's also sort of trying to fill various issues."
[12:54]" And on the on the other side I know you got your own job to worry about your own group. To worry about but I have besides the quarterback is. Proven that he belongs that he can play not that you asked him do it or error it was spoken. But I'm sure there are some guys who who want it to see. From from back -- yet even though you you -- to -- you tell on him and we're behind you know go out there and just you know do which you do it and and does do the best you can you want to give him you want to give them little boost that you know you have faith in him but still. He's still has to get the job done and I mean that's sort of that's all on his shoulders in terms of his preparation and how he how he gets ready to play the game in. And then you know as a decent years you watch you watch how the kids doing out there so. I mean I think that. There have been weeks over weeks that you know you watch this -- on third down and he -- iron in there to welcome furcal version or something like that and that does that does build the -- that we're talking about -- about okay this this guy is getting better and and that we can't win win with him but to get that faith -- player has to go out there and show it and I think -- We all we all know that we have good football players and we have in our minds that they are good and they can't show this is when they will. And there are a lot of guys we've we've seen this on Friday. About a lot of quarterback in the NFL. Who could hit who could do what he did that final drive about the play no timeouts. And that's sixteen yard pass me rolling right and fires perfect pass to Randy Moss replied that I mean throwing on the run I mean -- on the -- confident. I mean his athletic ability -- I think he ran for fifty to sixty yards and I hope whoever is having fun watching him play because it's it's different it's different than having Tom back there you've you've got. He got Marvin has huge --"
[14:44]" I I. Don't you think you've seen -- a good -- Dave's going to live at Atlanta. They've got to break it."
[14:54]" Etiquette and the guy's strong he's fast Z take off he had a two yard -- for a touchdown a couple weeks ago I mean he's. He's -- things that. That fires that defensively -- we do you got man to man coverage and another on on the back into it and and that sometimes I'd take off get a first down conversion that that our government thinking sometimes it -- your right now had."
[15:16]" FF well Carlyle that we can really expect their believe -- this is this is one of those stupid things that we always say at this point in the season but. If the playoffs did start this week you guys to be on the outside looking in. I say that it's a prelude to the fact that for the first time a long time there's a week twelve football game that's almost must win for you."
[15:38]" I think everyone to a man in locker room or look at any game as a must win because we sort of look at a ball like that and then look what look at -- opportunities to win and so. I mean we've. Some of the young guys maybe not but a lot of the veteran guys we've been in races before we've been division races before we we've really matter in those. Those -- and teachers should get if you win the division and right now it's. And right now I think we have just get a chance as anybody -- we just have to worry about winning games -- get back to win one football game in that. I mean guys are excited to come here we had all the time off this week and we're excited to coming here tomorrow and give back to work and that. -- it's a challenge in Africa. Who we are now locker -- was you know we respond to challenges and you know especially after the game went last last. That's -- we played Miami I think we're all looking forward to going down there but not a good performance little extra work for the defensive side this week on the wildcat offense. Yeah yeah I think we are sure I'm sure -- obese a cut up papers a clip clip that we can we can watch it and see how. They were they had to against us and how we probably make some changes and adjustments that if we can out. And they'll probably change some things that yeah yet it'll be. I think this will be one of those sideline just a game channel Q this is what we saw on the first series okay here's a new formation and now they they ran a reverse that -- this -- something like that so. -- here's the just as we want to make it here's how we want to play that so. -- I think I think all around him in terms of coaches and players is going to be a game that that and we're really going to have to be in our toes to win. But -- this week exhibit at theaters that Tedy Bruschi joining us here on Sports Radio WE yeah."
