Play from 0:00[0:00]" Good afternoon mr. Bruschi -- I'm doing good doing here. Doing great so so what do you say when. When you're called for a unnecessary roughness lady -- fifteen yard penalty. What do you go back what would go back and -- your guys' first line you know what is it official what do you think your guys well I think the guys the guys see see the way and they know feels warranted or not and they can give you. Yeah they're giving those in those you know come on man or something like that what are you doing or something like that but I think the guys. -- so -- let up towards the end I mean I think I think he was little bit out of bounds but I let up and then. I don't even think Ronnie went down on that and so you know after the flag was thrown it. You sort of plea to KC the official and you see a little bit of a doubt in his eyes but he threw the flag and it's too -- you see instant action number. And then you think yourself. Maybe you should've gotten."

Play from 0:52[0:52]" out of it. Really all of a little bit -- I don't support really you think about it he arguing and umpire he's never change in the call. NBA they never changed the call them awhile in the NFL they'll pick up the flight one total yeah."

Play from 1:05[1:05]" I've I've I've been right in those those discussions in between officials in this two -- there and you pitcher. You plead your case in there and I've I've it it's a rarity but I've seen the tide turned a little bit sometimes so where one official says something in the official. Doesn't agree aren't that you have a better view and then like it's picked up -- the -- days so. You know they they do a good job working it out I think that. I've I think when you come home and and and you liked those in the area Tedy tonight about."

Play from 1:33[1:33]" yeah. And I lost three yards and her arms as evidence that definitely no doubt about that oh yeah you hit me. -- it's funny now what we're trying to we're trying to put this out. Off the -- you won't believe this gave me the quarterbacks in NFL history who have thrown for back to back 400 yard games. We got Dan Marino. We knew we got -- we know why we didn't hit -- that's one explanation of Korea about the fourth one. You'll ever get this you'll never get much not a great quarterback. Billy bowl. Really Billy -- the last one did it is really policies. -- Naturally I -- against him. I mean you didn't they -- yeah it is important that hard deep threat at running it and staff and it never really had great receivers there with the Giants good tight end than our great receivers. What do you think back councils. A development. Over the course of the season."

Play from 2:32[2:32]" It's been incredible I mean I think. I said this year bunch I mean now all we we we let him know we're behind demand just improve every weekend. Did you expect did you expect that improvement to be. Back to back 400 plus yard passing games no probably not but the see him to see him take it this bars. You know it is is it you're you're watching a player sort of seize his opportunity really take advantage you always talk about taken advantages of opportunities and and this is a prime example -- I mean. In terms of playing experience what the what it really half you know I mean I I global high school and so. I think it's gotta be that. One of the best stories I've heard in recent memory I mean -- about the Kurt Warner thing -- and from stacking grocery grocery store shelves -- like that to playing quarterback Leahy when he did but. But match -- not have a lot of experience to come out and it just shows you that. You know if if if with through hard work and determination from those young kids out there I mean it's possible to just keep on working in and you're when your chance comes you've really got to take advantage of it and that's what Matt's done."

Play from 3:33[3:33]" Lewis and earlier. If Pete Carroll doesn't use this as a recruiting pitch he lost to you can come here and even if you don't mind that you can get into the -- it happens he can put that Matt Cassel -- his back pocket I mean in the living room and release them being too. Whenever I actually. Coach got this guy whose star Murton and he's done all this and all that. I -- Play you know so. Night -- Europe veteran your captain your Pro Bowl yours Super Bowl champion you probably would get a little leeway here if Bill Belichick said. Yet Bruschi off the field paid to sit no I've not -- what -- happen here."

Play from 4:17[4:17]" You know that's. Man there there I remember I remember an instance once I think -- playing the Jets here oh wait awhile back in the that was a part does that play where. I hit Curtis Martin and Curtis Martin in my helmet sort of popped up offer my head in the sort through it off they went on the ground and then that's sort of a sign a -- loss of composure in Belichick's and somebody in the get me out and then. That's that's the one time when you probably want to say whoever it was -- out just to get back in but you know still you gotta you gotta put that put that helmet on and get often heard about you talk about an instance out there and so you always force yourself not coming off you know. You can go on and only talk about -- part of what he says what he says we'll never."

Play from 4:58[4:58]" You and our level up until my payroll. Ha ha but I gotta cut -- men. What do you don't win you know but he. You know not that that's not us that's that I see that we no we we hope that we don't know we don't have veteran players that that set that example but it on the heat of the moment a lot of things can happen out there. How tough is it becomes shore. Throughout the course of the season throughout the course of the game there many times that player says something just to get -- to react. How tough is it on a weekly basis. Choose to maintain that composure. There's there's sort of an unwritten code K I mean."

Play from 5:38[5:38]" One I've talked trash before you know a lot of things can be set out there and as a wide spectrum of boards that can be used and no there are certain things that usually keep it to. If the that usually -- do there's there's sort of unwritten code okay you can say anything you want about this -- about -- play about playing abilities about. You know I've been called many things out there so. I mean but when when you cross that line and go over to two overs some other areas I think that's when spark can really. Can really detonate and somebody and and sometimes you know somebody's got to pay for. So and so basically don't don't talk about my family. Yeah the other thing I mean family personal issues any type of their their a lot of things that you know. I can say some things like say what some linemen out there I can go get up in his face and say something -- right up in his face but it's in the heat of battle after the game -- to that fifty and we shake each other's hands and say good game now as did Osgood hit that one player something like that. But something's something's some lines can't be crossed and if that like I can tell the -- certain line was crossed that mean it I don't know how I'd react either if if if if something was said that that maybe it was outline I mean. It's sometimes it's tough to keep your composure in certain situations."

Play from 6:50[6:50]" You know our I'd just the way things work out our Patriots Monday guys are defensive guys knew and Richard and Ty and Vince. And -- Patriots Friday guys for the most part are offensive guys. Like Matt -- for instance -- and it seems like it's the offensive guys who had to listen the the most crap on the field. Because I get the impression talking to Richard convinced that the offensive players. Didn't get -- out of line with the stuff that was being set out there talking yesterday right right just yesterday."

Play from 7:17[7:17]" Yeah I mean in terms of ourselves defensively. We don't we don't consider you know we don't consider Miami -- huge trash -- there's a little bit that goes out every single game you know and that I think. I think if you look at sides of the ball mostly -- the trash talkers are on defense you know they're the ones that are trying to. You know give that intimidation factor out there try to get in people's heads because there's lot of things going on on offense out of the ball and and I think -- players maybe need to keep their composure a little bit more -- defensive players needed to -- it go a little bit where the ones out there trying to deliver hits and and and not take them so I think we can we have a little bit more time. Little bit more time to think some things to say in that let them out who was the best trash talker he ever played -- Of the best trash -- ever played -- That's a tough one I got a I got a name in my head with a quarter of one of the going to say this -- you know in terms of in terms of rhetoric and intelligence. And delivery you know I think I think Mike -- got to be up there. That I think I think he's up there -- I think heart problems. Is always was always Angela that the name I had mine hill isn't intimidating force when when he he'd hit somebody units that somebody you know about it and no there there army numerous like 510 years -- something like that with I think in recent memory those those those two that really stand out to see my name was Brian Cox. Yeah yeah I had had a historic at a source that Brian and he was pretty good if -- yeah yeah he was and I think -- he was who the player also antics sometimes the fans and something like that maybe maybe. Maybe going overboard a little bit but he it was a very intense and --"

Play from 8:57[8:57]" See some guys like Vrabel are dangerous because. I -- they get down and dirty talk trash with you or you can do that highbrow intellectual trailer dog. We talk it over the site it's always some about me is bad are really don't understand exactly what they think. I don't know if not complementary rather than there at times and well I'll -- about the play at that -- that play you still leave Patriots conduct policy and one. -- did -- to -- you told -- that they know. You know. Column in the days go lately you tell me you don't even go to class at Ohio State how EB eyebrow and elect us practiced well. There was this -- he hasn't hit his experience off field. Go to class and we don't want athlete -- don't want."

Play from 9:48[9:48]" Academic cereal and athletes. But how your coaches respond as they -- these. Into politics how would they respond you gave a very good explanation sometimes you do cross that line is tough. Or players across the line which will force you to respond how they respond -- that answer if you are say ejector from a game or your flack for penalty today except that."

Play from 10:15[10:15]" Haven't been in that situation before I don't know how it went with Matt but how I would think -- it would go like this somehow. I get an altercation. I get -- an official it would throw me out the game and you do that on the ejection from the game number 54. And then I come over to the sideline in my coaches say do you. Tedy what happened out there what to do that for -- coach he said this. And I don't think you would be enough for my coach to say. Okay. -- and punches and it's. A huge -- about you know so I mean I think there they understand also mean. Someplace you don't go you know say that again and I think I don't know a thousand same situation I mean of course we can't we can't. I wasn't out there and we can't go over to record what was sadder or words or anything like that of course we talks amongst ourselves as teammates but. You know I think. I think in a situation like that it would have been it would of taken all of my self control to compose myself. How much self controlled. Out on the field. I -- I think I have a lot and I think I have like that the Avalanche I think a few years ago Tennessee went went ballistic out there one time winner. When I'm Bobby Wade cut down Rodney Harrison a little bit -- thought it was a it was something where he went high in the in the run in the -- and then he went down low in. -- nine win over Rodney and arrested as it Rodney what happened and run it means it -- cut me. And it just snapped something in me into where assorted sort of went over to the bench and a -- You know sort of going ballistic you know -- Yankees again and now edges which is going off and I think -- the situation where. That's that sometimes -- that's one instance round loss of control but I consider consider myself someone that doesn't do that often when my favorite stories."

Play from 12:01[12:01]" You know it had -- and Bobby Wade WA Arizona wildcats that is doing -- while yet you know you know too much except I. I don't. You know too much at. Greg the."

Play from 12:16[12:16]" You guys got to change something up yesterday where. Dean Pees was up in the box. Matt Patricia was signaling that the signals in from the sidelines and hot that worked just from from an x.s and -- get the play -- the -- onto the field and all last."

Play from 12:30[12:30]" Yeah it was the first time -- Matt pitchers who really had an expanded role this time and him being down on the field I think he I think he did a great job of it and no he was he was a calming presence out there when you know you think someone to be there in that situation for the first time maybe the nerves get him a little bit maybe they -- velvet jump B rating like -- I think -- CP did a great job. A really. -- the troops down and in getting the calls and calls in getting the call you know -- Belichick with the communication and you know when he's is down there also is the same way so it's nice to see that there was no really changed there was no change really there wasn't. A big. The big big difference in my comment he's down there's this way -- Matt -- down there's this way I don't think it was a big change but I think that he did a great job of really keep it consistent force in terms of whether -- with there not you know it was still something to where we felt everything was under control."

Play from 13:20[13:20]" I understand where it's if it would really help dean I think to see it from that angle I can see where there's a benefit. Is there is there a communications gap. Where you know dean wants to come Beyonce -- this is what I'm seeing in this is what you don't want or -- just get on the headphones and talk to McCain and --"

Play from 13:37[13:37]" Yeah there there there is that tone that that I don't know if you are. On home games there's this -- black phones and the -- in terms of players coaches names are -- that the fans Patricia or something like that I've wanted to wreck and I can always pick that up and talk there's so. That's bad month communications always opened it in terms of the views the sidelines you compared to if you up there in the boxes. It just it just depends on the coach's preference and it was -- it was. And how they decided that he's won -- in the what's there's this game whether it be different different different aspect of it. This next game versus the Steelers will see but I thought I thought it worked well on either way that -- still -- still advantageous for us I'm sure their time anyone top those guys submit it had to estimate that that is not I don't like talking right now go to. I hit you back later you know some of those plays Maria you know you're sort of -- a screw up or something like that they've become a T and you know they're going to say before you say he's hands on Wednesday and excellence and just."

Play from 14:38[14:38]" It'll be great feature to any great feature maybe even great book matter at all it's a book but it would be good didn't magazine article -- and and observe linebackers meetings and I'm sure there's the -- Thing. Okay well good comedies actually. That the personalities and there you. Vrabel. Idealist when he's healthy I don't know if he's still going to be innings even if these guys as -- seriousness. And Patricia I'm shorter some good some good conversations going on in there."

Play from 15:13[15:13]" throwing a couple of youngsters in there also that keep -- fresh with you know Crable Guyton and in Mayo you know those guys. Then there's read those guys really at a little bit of spice themselves you know as -- a couple weeks how they keep us upon occupants all of our pop culture with all these new. New song is there artists or anything like that so I got and have a pop culture -- question I'm asking them but it's it's it's a great room it's a great -- I mean. I mean guys I mean these young guys joke with me all the time about your rookie year I think I was like in."

Play from 15:46[15:46]" Develop trust unless something like. It's Favre is fun now when you're rookie and you walk in in network. Is it is it shut up listen don't speak unless spoken to with that you approached it we knew when you first went there."

Play from 16:01[16:01]" A pretty much with every rookie that's it is first at first ignored I think I was walking into. Chris Slade and Willie McGinest -- Todd Collins Ted Johnson it's canyon and but. It was it was something where Regis you know speak we've spoken to and religious kitchen no account write notes make sure you know make sure you learn everything before you open your mouth and even ask that question because. I mean veterans. You don't really want to waste their time either you know there if you are asking questions about -- is tied in left here. You know that the most basic of questions when the vets like that here so he really just trying to absorb everything in as the year goes on as the year goes on. I mean we don't really suppress those guys about there -- of individual quality -- now manages to ski quite keep quiet keep quite that we we want them to be individuals themselves because. You know to me that's how you become a good player I mean if you're you're able to be yourself amongst the team you know I think. As long as you teach him get based foundation of the way we expected to be in training camp in those early games that come with time where. -- guys gotta be yourself you gotta go out there and you get the job done because. You know there can be times where are going to miss a tackle and Egypt have my back to the same for you."

Play from 17:16[17:16]" And and it's fortunate for you -- being here in New England all these years can you think of a situation. For yourself before anybody else a linebacker comes in here. And somebody become so protective they say I'm going to help but this kid this kid has come and then you're trying to get him to take my job can -- get. Of that happening. Since it at any time since 1996 when he came to Italy."

Play from 17:39[17:39]" I can't I think that the person coming in -- would definitely have to show. An attitude of of may be arrogance of arrogance. Of being conceded about being all about himself. And not really to be part of -- group he'd be just an individual that keeps himself separate from the back -- something like that but not I mean. Yeah you can't be that way that's not really be that team player I mean -- Florida to be that way with what we're like -- Jerod and I think their. They're development would would would of slowed a little slower level so I think for me to be a better player. It's to have the best players around me. And so to try to get -- when he's playing next to me or try to get scary when he's playing next to me or informing still still doing the job that that we except we expect them to do you probably like a coach in the sense that. If you tell Jerod Mayo -- and our guy and something the red. And you see them apply it during the game it's like yeah. That's exactly what I was talking about two weeks ago when you finally got nets. That's that's enjoyment for him in the you have. I mean I've had those moments where you know you you try to help them out a little bit but I think I think now it's it's. I think everyone's seen in the ability of -- of what he can do and and he's always had that in -- he just you know with with him and I it's just relationship to where. If we're on the same page out there before the snap I mean I know this kids is this is going to be a great player and always going to get the job and so and and safety with -- so. You know you want them to do that I really want to see them do well I mean I mean these two young guys there who who they they may be the -- 345 years on the line."

Play from 19:14[19:14]" There's say there's a couple of teams that even though they're not your division it must feel like they are Indianapolis. Seems like you're always playing in San Diego. I think Pittsburgh probably in that category as well a team not your division but you know pretty well by --"

Play from 19:27[19:27]" I think I think you get that field and whenever. Before you watch film. You anticipate which -- Tennessee. And he's sort of expected to be that way so -- after this -- I go in there and once in Pittsburgh film. -- expectancy is is the physical offensive line -- expectancy. You know big strong physical quarterback also mean hard running game. Hines Ward so doing the things he's doing so I mean when you know somebody that well you can sort of anticipate those things before you click play on that happened so. I think that's that's that's nothing new now I mean Steve -- The Steelers are who they are you -- Pittsburgh Steelers -- and you expect this going to be tough physical game and I think that's that's way we're built especially defensively in. It's a game that I think we'll look forward to there's been some talk around the league this year that Hines Ward as a dirty player has that been your experience. Absolutely not absolutely that I I respect Hines Ward I think he's he's done his job for a long time I think. The only thing he does play hard you know and I think. Maybe the guys that made me think he's thirty years some of the guys that maybe he's gotten better over something like that but in terms of my experiences with them Patriots versus Steelers. I mean he's given some given some over aggressive face masks that gone into the sideline or something like that but I mean that's again that's that. Pittsburgh steeler mentality that he's trying to set and on offense he -- Talk about someone being a tone setter a receiver I mean him as a receiver being a tone -- is is really out of out of the ordinary but he can do that with is that in the physical play the way -- he blocks the way he prides himself on -- blocking in the running game and a you know get those that those crucial third down conversions so. In -- tickets in my place a complementary player. We appreciate your time is always had a happy Thanksgiving thanks guys evidence given to him actually Tedy Bruschi joining us Sports Radio WE."
