Play from 0:40[0:40]" We're alive. We're. I have three more games to play in the regular season the pats are still very much in the think of -- but think of things as well as the thick of things."

Play from 0:51[0:51]" Both things. In the east. And the the particular we will -- the playbook. Or Tuesday my name is John -- web radio Patriots dot com -- email address that you're reaches on the program. Telephone number 5 wait 54374. 82. After the after the win over Seattle I have to admit it was certainly a little closer. I think we're probably all imagined it would be what would you consider. The -- It did did the injury that continues. Continues to make a name for itself -- mean frankly. The fact that the Patriots are where they are is this story unto itself right now kids. This is. Calm. We mentioned this for the first time in about a month or so ago. Hey -- if I'm wrong here I'm sure if you will because a lot of you do and that's fine. It is quite frankly when he's -- off a couple of times like like I do sometimes you kind of -- mingle things from -- I'm an -- helpful reminder and that's good that's why we're rely on you to do that. Come but -- equipment is for the first about a month that this may be Bill Belichick is coaching job if this team does win now somehow. In wins these last three games. And a beginning to think now more and more that not this week but next week against Arizona. Is going to be a heck of a lot tougher. That on the most people realize right now maybe will be talking more about the week from now but I'm I'm not relishing that again. On May be their best coaching job ever special that finished eleven and five when the division. There are many candidates I think overall for coach of the year certainly Tony -- Miami has to be there. I believe that you know I think for whatever it's worth -- if they win the east Eric Mangini has to be there. You could certainly look at Baltimore. You can look at the comeback for Indianapolis. I think you could even probably throw Mike Shanahan of Denver in the make to a certain extent but. I don't. Coach of the year yeah. Absolutely. We're three weeks away from the regular season wrapping up and you're on the hunt. And that's all you can ask for at this stage of the game. Let's do this brought on top of the program today okay I'm talking about. Coaching jobs in particular. If not Bill Belichick who in your estimation has done a better job with his team. In Europe and -- so far this year. And if it is Bill Belichick -- myself. But if you had a -- coach of the year and you were told you need to submit your ballot today. William -- four. I think you make a strong case for a coach Baltic. And there's really again there's no wrong answer here. I just I'm continually impressed by the way these guys you know mix and match in game plan. And you know smoke and mirror and -- it's it's remarkable. It's remarkable so anyway that's the first thing I want to -- web radio at Patriots dot com if not Bill Belichick Hoosier coach of the year the more. Tell you know you were told by nfl.com it's different you need -- ballot today who you voted for. You got fourteen weeks the regular season complete. Who's your coach of the year after fourteen weeks ago that that your question. And now I would look for you to. Provide feedback on that particularly a couple of things are going to throw out today but. Well Brian Lowe from a Patriots day is scheduled to join us from San Jose California in the 3 o'clock hour. Out to bring us up to date on everything that's going on out Patriot nation. In the northern California. As the pats get ready for the Oakland Raiders this Sunday. You know so if anything is happening with the -- with the with the team. And the coaches. Ma media what have you he's going to bring us up to -- 3 o'clock RD he's going to check -- on the show. And -- will get the latest from below if you have a question for below out there we even call it a segment -- below. Not ask -- today on the about the Patriots that California. Go ahead fire off a question for ask below as well you have something on the team from -- California web radio -- Patriots dot com. Ask below. They go. So if you want to do that for him we can do that for him as well and -- 3 o'clock hour of the program today. There are there is a news. Tell you about com before we jump -- to sort of recapping -- nitpicking is we always do here on the big Tuesday's. In the play book is we'll recap the yeah. The 2421 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. But I did want to jump out in the first in India released in new -- in his adjustments with the spread the guys. Couple moments ago column. Now it is official that the recession has hit the National Football League as of today because the league said the morning it is cutting more than 10% of its headquarters staff. In response to the downturn in the nation's economy. All the cuts were announced in a memo to league staff by commissioner Roger Goodell. According to news release that I actually receive from the National Football League a little over an hour ago while the league is eliminating about a 150 -- staff of 1100. Personnel in New York -- at the NFL films headquarters in New Jersey and in production facility in Los Angeles. Commissioner Goodell at these were difficult and painful steps necessary in the current economic environment now. I think will realize that the NFL has certainly been at the top of the had a in symbolizing. The wealth the money. That is out there in the world of professional sports on our planet. But the NFL now has decided well you know things may be going well but it's not going well for everybody else I'm not convinced. Because you'd notice now they're not giving us any numbers. Usually what someone has a bad story to tell you they will want to verify that want to back up that bad story with the available facts they have so they can legitimize it. You're not going to take anybody's word we're we're all going to show me world here. Like will live in Missouri right don't show me well. Usually people of bad news Tuesday and it's legit they're going to back up number it will I don't in the NFL backing this up quality numbers how the revenues down. But down from seven good million to six -- There's still making money hand over -- this is in my estimation. The problem here. Is that because NASCAR. Because the NBA. And to a lesser extent Major League Baseball. Or all. Showing losses or showing downturns or. Talking about sponsors that leaving or what have you. That the NFL felt that they had a goal longer. This is not the time to be you know. Touting how rich we are and how successful we are and is not time to rub people's faces in the you know in the dirt. This time to you know. Go along with the of the mainstream in this country. And this is time to show that you know hey we too are susceptible. To economic conditions and you know if others are cutting back we should be cutting back as well. This is my opinion I don't have you know a lot of -- this just based on what I witnessed. I like the first thing that -- beyond this early this avenue was okay where the numbers. I'd love to see where the National Football League is is is behind. In their expenses and -- as as opposed to the revenues. Or in the revenues as opposed to their expenses. Maybe we won't get those numbers until the end of the season until everything is completed. I'm not sure I'm not convinced right now that will ever get those numbers. Just because the NFL is kind of like the other throwing dirt on this is going all right -- warm we gonna make cuts that we can kind of like. Go along with a -- here. Ever heard the saying misery loves company. I really believe this to be the case. Now the until May be. May. Idol I'll have a financial difficulties the legal all the it's possible. But like I said you know when your -- him you know when your printing money which is what the -- basically he's been doing for the better part of the last decade two decades now. Com but certainly in the last decade. And you know others around you. Are calm having difficulty. I think that if you have a social conscience social bone in your body. You try to do what you can to help others now in some twisted way that may be what this is. On how you're helping anybody by laying off a 150 people. But maybe what you do want to show the world that hey you know what we're human too. What are your thoughts. You agree or disagree with a particular premise about the NFL. And professional sports in particular I'm it was where you don't NASCAR teams are talking about you know not even coming back next year. Because they can't guarantee sponsorship. I refuse to believe that you know the downturn in the economy is going to do anything. Two remotely act free agency and Major League Baseball because it -- at the baseball winter meetings going on right now Las Vegas and you know I'm sure that you know that the high priced guys are still going to get what they can get. There may be -- through the middle to lower -- free agents. Struggled. You know make their million dollar personal what Britain might be. But I just don't know that Major League Baseball is going to take you -- I surely don't think that the NFL is going to take a huge yet even with these -- that they announced today. The NBA. I can see where they're taken him because they've been they've been slowly taken hit they've been slowly sliding. I think for the better part of last 567 year. You know it's it's the old you know. The players. Don't relate. To the average everyday fan anymore part of it it's a -- league in and we're not a -- ground. And I think a lot of that as adversely affected the NB. The NBA I would say is is is is going to be close to with NASCAR and maybe -- things in this country in terms of attempting to. You know sort of the weather the storm the pushing it Major League soccer all those -- you that actually follow the revolution as well mean that I saw today we're Michael parker -- a local kid from. Cranston, Rhode Island he's been he's being allowed to to go play for a Danish club team in Europe next year why. Well probably because you know number one he wanted to. But number two it's like well this relieves us of some potential salary and and responsibility and having to read on and it is deal was up this year and I'm going to hit everybody here kids -- hitter it may have already hit you. So what really kind of like you know in in in -- general -- here to find out how you feel about. The downturn in the economy. Acting. What you do. SA sports. Are you buying. Are you watching. Argue listening -- Or are you following. List. In what way. How has the downturn of the economy. Affected you as a Patriot as a football. Web radio at Patriots dot com. He can also phone in at 5 wait 5437482. I would really be curious to know that because it affected me. -- Is maybe you know this is my eight year here to do host this program for the Patriots on this website. On my sixteen year as as -- a country to point the team. And you know it's obviously the downturn in the economy has affected this very department. With you know my -- Gary group Dickey -- those who have you know contributed to this program of the past being a part of the marketing cuts. Here you know a few weeks ago here at Gillette Stadium. So it's certainly affected us here. In my own professional life -- I'm I'm a full time contractor. I work for myself and I've had to one client. -- on me within the last calendar month and he can't -- any longer in owes me a lot of money. It's it's you know and that's just that's just the tip of the -- No it's not Patriots. Went on to what I say here though is that it's affected everybody in some former fashion. Has it affected mine viewing horror."

Play from 14:11[14:11]" Consumption habit of sports. Not yet. But I can you were it might. You know I grabbed -- and I grabbed the DirecTV. You know sports package. You know if -- always -- could -- in -- realize it's only ten bucks a month or whatever it is you know an arm but still you know if you need if you need to cut cause that's an easy one to do. Well kind of watching is beginner. You know the play dead anyway -- games now of course a lot of my stuff is. Is attacks hurdle because what I do for a living I have to follow is much is like humanly I can't isn't my business to do that. Great job having get it right well it also has -- coming down side is well. There are you know. I mean buying tickets I can certainly see where you don't buy as many tickets because he just don't have as much you know. Horrible income. Discretion hood area income and in order to to go out and and be able to do things the way you've done. I don't know how the downturn in the economy is affecting you. In terms of being a sports fan. In terms of being a Patriot -- terms of being a ball fair how is it affecting you web radio. Patriots dot com. -- there's two good questions I hope that you can you want for bit. And I will look order in earnest receiving your answers and sharing and the emails. What you hear on the program -- in addition to how the a downturn in the economy is affecting you was a football -- Patriots is sports and at this stage of the game if you could hope for. A coach of the year in the NFL who would it be and -- You're told you -- turn in your ballot today Hoosier coach of the year. Lots of good candidates here be curious what your choice might be when you consider. What -- want to around here in terms of trying to keep players tell anybody got any O line backing experience. Coach Belichick called -- yesterday. You know they're going to be a look at the players are going to look at of people got to get through the year. I think is an absolute. Honor. But these guys keep dropping the way that they have been dropped its just it absolutely. Is just it's just nothing short of amazed. Really. If you don't and good linebackers out there I'll take suggestions. It'll arm off to -- will far more of theirs as well and who knows maybe somebody will take a look. We got a good names out -- street free agents that them available I think that they might be interest that you never know. -- Michael just does other little bit of news today I wanted to share with you because this is a subject that we've dealt with in the past here in this program. And I know that this is that a point of contention with the players association. -- within the NFL. Especially the retired players association because. They've actually gone out and -- the utopia a for what they think is well lack of benefits and a lack of attention played. Paid two of the retired players and it's been a big story in the league probably close at all. But the NFL -- players' association today announced a new benefit program. But it is going to a retired players with their Medicare costs so this is definitely a step in the right direction you know. Try to be a little if I gotta give the bad news and try to give him little good news to. -- right. The latest in the series of NFL initiatives interest in the medical needs of retired players. It's a new program is going to pay a portion of the premium for eligible players coverage. It's called -- NFL player care plan contribute a hundred dollars a month 100 dollars with a monthly premium on beach eligible retired player. It doesn't sound like a lot but apparently arm that the -- Richard -- and who is the acting executive director of the NFL BA obviously taking over for gene Upshaw. Does that that is a benefit -- been men being worked on for a long time -- pleased that they can do this for the retired players in the NFL. By the way retired NFL players can also find additional information on medical benefits programs -- NFL player care dot com zone. You wanted to find out more about that you can do -- we're going to that particular website Sox owner bring that up because we're all that towards them thinking well you know what. There's some good -- When you -- The retired players. You know convene. In guys can -- walk. You know it's just it's just crushing to think that you're heroes of days gone by my heroes from days gone by -- left basically. Opted to what they may. Without getting any apparent -- from the league a league that they literally gave their body score. Their health for their long term health -- Step in the right direction is not complete. But it is a step in the right direction so kudos to via NFL for for -- that long in getting that deal done for the retired players. All right them news and notes from -- recap over the over the Seahawks on Sunday. Com point 421 win over the past or those kind of you know. Breather breathing easy -- reactions to the game in all I think we'll kind of waited that one out a little bit did we not. I know that there was a point in time. In the third quarter when I'm thinking how they're not going to do this. Literally -- thought that in about it with his record they're not going to do. And I kept thinking well they can't do this but it is one more want you know and so I got. Kind of stuck between believing they could do it and try to prepare myself for the inevitable. Which of course over the last three weeks of the regular season here with you on this program would be back. Let's look toward the draft and able to the playoff thing happen. And then in a matter of about twenty minute. Not only did the -- the Patriots win but the Jets lose -- obviously the Dolphins won as well is an idea of a three way tie for the lead the they have eased everybody's -- five. Technically the Jets still hold the tiebreaker because they're better within the division by a half game over the Patriots right now. That's why the Jets the in terms of playoff teams if they were to start today -- using the Jets always slotted in. You know is that or seed or -- or three seed and AFC east champion. -- because they hold the lead right now on the top first tiebreaker which is division next tiebreaker would be -- well first Everett and it. Second Everett will be division third driver of the conference. So those -- things that we're going to be looking at very closely over the course of the next three weeks. Right yeah absolutely. Start figuring it out for yourself. You know I was going to do this before the Saturday quite frankly come. I held off because I figured somebody in this audience is already done this in -- give you a chance to step up right here. Right now. Show me what you -- and you'll get all credit for. What the schedule. On down the end of the season here but the three contending teams in the AFC east. -- Jets Dolphins who's going to do. What are the not only divisional record but what are the conference records. Because the conference record to Mays probably going to end up being in the tiebreaker. That's what I think it's going to come down. Third tiebreaker at -- Probably where this division title is going to be decided. So if anybody's done their homework or anybody cares to do that homework -- while we're here on the program by all means. Everybody's going to get credit for I just thought I'd give you an opportunity to do that as -- figure somebody is probably -- he'd done it. I just haven't had the chance to do that today. But it certainly is on my mind I'm thinking okay I know what the division record stand out of the conference records. Where we gonna let. -- let them go I think we have to start paying attention. Tom west I think and basically primarily three things. That stand out in my mind from the win over Seattle. And the get in this and nitpick. And I want you to share -- picked last and certainly not least via email today about just talk about the program. Given an opportunity to chew on just about any thing. I really hope today that you'll participate because some this -- a great chance to get some issues on and mom you know answers hopefully. Room -- around in the yeah. Dark deep recesses of our minds your. Arm and they give three things that really stand out about. Is the man that they will realize that. And and by the way there's opener nickname right now one on the in the law that great that a great nickname standing. Who's gonna give me a dollar for calling him a slot machine. My give me a dollar. In back here. Cassel pass complete the slot machine. This guy's unbelievable. If there is an MVP. Candidate in my mind -- Wes Welker is it he has to be. He has literally and figuratively and physically kept the Patriots often float. With his catches with his -- gritty play with his bouncing back from that unbelievable hit he took last week you know -- Pittsburgh -- just. The guy to me is he epitomizes what I think in most valuable player. Should -- now to get the Award I doubt it. But he could he leads the NFL right now in receptions. Why not Wes Welker in the course and we should ask your over the course the next three weeks why not Wes Welker for MVP. Starter right now you want to jump on -- I'll get run on that bandwagon with a lead the charge. Twelve catches. 134 yards according the highest reception total of the season for the team the second highest reception total of his career. He also caught the two point conversion pass which gave the Patriots will breathing room at the end obviously as we all realize in the fourth quarter. All the twelve catches trail only hit thirteen catch performance against Philadelphia last season. His twelve. Is the ties the -- now fifth highest single game total in team history. -- Troy Brown's team record sixteen catches him that day back in September of 2002. And there are 313 catch performance is in Patriots history. Welker in Philly last year Deion Branch and you know to Terry Glenn in 99. Is the fourth. A 134 receiving yards the highest game total by a Patriot this season. And the most since Moss had a 135. In Pittsburg last year. Wes Welker should be the MVP that's the first thing I think that I'm thinking here. In retrospect -- of the you know win over Seattle. Number two the I think we'll realize that when Vince Wilfork went down they would realise how valuable he really used that these fans. At a get with all due respect to Mike right. And two which even miss. You know -- to anybody else who played tackle. You know those guys are good players they're not Vince Wilfork. I don't think that being the public is being means that it's been terrible. -- of being truthful. Vince Wilfork. It is truly an anchor if not the anchor of whatever the Patriots have Monday. And depending upon you know what the injury report this week missing him for any extended about a time maybe there is the year who knows right now. That's -- that's that's a blow that is that's is better blow is this team is head. It just short of Tom Brady. You know the rumors haven't continue to persist that a Tedy Bruschi is going to be out for the year. And again we haven't had that confirmed as of yet here while we do know again that he's flown back home to have his knee looked. On it stands to reason he could at least be out for awhile hopefully it's a brutal visibly to bounce back from but you know we don't know. At this stage and probably won't start knowing officially until later today or tomorrow. And coach Belichick said as much yesterday. You know it's usually takes a day or two for these sort of things to sort of cycle themselves in and out. As guys get treatment and guys are respond to that treatment. Have a chance to the only all for couple days and he Elbe that the -- you know heal up. I am. I I gotta tell you. There are they did so the second thing. I'm thinking three things about the game the first thing with Wes Welker the second thing is that the fans. Not being able to stop anything. Third thing I'm thinking about Sunday that really stands out to me. Is that the seniors that rule. But. To have what Junior Seau and Rosevelt Colvin and I'm kind of thrown rosy in the air but you know he's he's not -- almost forty something like juniors. I want is someone who is on the plus side of of the age of forty. I'm thrilled to death to see this I realize that this is not the future of this football team. I realize that these guys probably don't have a future with this team after this season is completed even. Who know. The amazing thing to me is is that the guys come."

Play from 28:24[28:24]" From not having played a single down of football. All season long and they come in and they both play almost three quarters of the game on Sunday I find that remarkable. And they play at a decent level not you don't not gotten not an all pro level. You know blip but you know. Not an -- sixteen Detroit Lions level either."

Play from 28:51[28:51]" They both knew what to do the both made plays. I think on that that that catch and and run that should have been ruled out of bounds -- Deion Branch made it decent but yarder late in the game. When we saw you know deal put a move on on junior junior -- Connolly while. You know and I looked pretty. But I mean -- that play -- just about anybody would look at. By the way that call horrific. And could we not all seen that he's -- was on the line. And yet the official is telling coach Belichick that he could not make that determination. You look at."

Play from 29:27[29:27]" But he can no idea. What the hell's going to. It cleared the guys -- eagle is on the goal line that was a leader. And because of that it should he should have been alum right. Actually technically I have to go back and look at it again to get both feet down and in before he dividend before he earned a if he didn't then it would have been incomplete pass."

Play from 29:54[29:54]" I have to go back and look at it again to determine that. I mean it's all moot -- Patriots won the football game but I understand you know this is where. You know having to rely on instant replay is obviously not a fool proof -- it does not prove. Any day. The video replay is open to interpretation. That's all it is it's all it shows. And sometimes an interpretation is not going to go your way."

Play from 30:24[30:24]" So therefore I'm not sure. At that video replay is really helping us here in the long run is it. Do you think it is. I I'm I'm I'm not convinced it is realize you're Tuesday I don't like it's going where I opened calls like that. -- Why would just let the officials call like they did for the first you know seven decades in the NFL would just let them take care of it. Before we had instant replay become a part of this game. We aim to do okay without that I know we didn't have the technology. We have the technology we need to have the technology shoved down our throats. Or up our noses or you know hole where. I'm just so disappointed I I like the modernized as much as the next I have been a proponent. For using. I have so many people I know that have covered this game and it talked about the game hours old school as I am about the NFL and that there's no place or you know. This kind of stuff in the sport. This is where the sport is becomes a problem because relies on human and were. The chance that you take with human error that's what makes the game unique that's what makes it a great game and when you put electronics into it -- try to find that you try to make it to perfect and it's not going to be that -- and you know what. I. Right. We're trying to make it -- It is not. Going to work we're always going to be let down. There are always going to be place. That are left Oprah and to a wide range of interpretations. In its all going to fall on the shoulders of the -- on the field and it's his call."

Play from 32:19[32:19]" And because of that. The games continued go Juan. He and you'll go on to be either has final unsatisfied with the called just like you would have banned. Had an official made that call in real time. If an official debate that -- real time which of course they do. We would have thought anything about it but because. Of the replay. The officials in the league for opening themselves up to scrutiny like this negative scrutiny. Don't he right now. I mean maybe I'm just maybe a get a case short term memory it's always possible. I don't senior Earl Bennett. Have an account of overtime competitor and a on -- Part of the game -- will will will that long but if we bought that answer would be a welcome to our web radio at Patriots dot com. What do we have book coming from from Sunday all out the one thing I think that we've been waiting for all season long. All season -- is somebody on this defense to step up and make applies right. Anybody at any time. When you can -- That an opposing team has got to drive -- and you needed somebody to step on the just make up like big tackle big hit a pick a fumble recovery a strip act one Everett might beat you need somebody to make all like. Finally we saw what happened and Brandon Meriweather ran up the middle and act Seneca Wallace. But it lost. On the first play after the two minute warning in the game. Jarvis Green recovered the ball. Patriots got the ball back they ran out the clock and they get a huge road win they keep them in the running for the AFC east title. And potentially. The playoffs. Big time live -- meriwether. We've been waiting for someone to step up and make a play like that on the -- all year long. And if we are going to beat without. A Bruschi and or a Wilfork for the remainder of the season. In addition to the other players that we're already -- We have to have something like that every game. Otherwise you're you're probably going to get beat. Because an opposing team knows that they can move the football on this defense. You have to take more -- And I was pleased to see that the Patriots defense took a chance on that play and sensibly they sent the hole now. It was Meriweather that got the Wallace. He's gonna have to have a team. That is going to have to reinvent itself somehow someway on the defensive side of the ball over the last three weeks in order to keep this is Ron. Go. Are going to nitpick. On a nit -- Tuesday. And start reading some emails and don't forget our question of the day that was thrown out to be here recapping briefly hey who is pure. Coach of the year thus far in the NFL. Being. An even asked what was the again. And."

Play from 35:36[35:36]" What was being in. Getting blood back table on the island -- that didn't think about a reason that got so we'll wrap up about the Lincoln. Rep that go talk about the officials. In the video replay -- all got double that was the question economy -- thank you. -- Let us say that I am so happy you -- pay attention -- days I'm real happy. How has the downturn in the economy out of figured it out of it is going to write your strike -- with a problem ahead I'm I'm lost here. What happens when you do a show what it does -- like it is the -- How is the downturn in the economy affected you as a football fan as a Patriot as a sports fan in general. Plus -- Right chew on those two questions we'll get to the nit picks as well right here and said the what what do."

Play from 37:08[37:08]" Level that -- catering had a good to beat for a hot potato nuts or -- very far from together catering and give them -- never forget -- get I'll let you get back."

Play from 42:04[42:04]" I don't doubt well. Nothing got nothing official even even on the Bruschi front you know actually Bill Belichick as a conference call scheduled just a little while I think some in here -- any update on that but. I I think. I think detectors didn't ask on the ball specifically about Bruschi -- the group burst is with the team wouldn't confirm that so I know why I ignore the confirmation either but. It doesn't look good for Bruschi whether or not it that injured reserve situation or not -- yeah. All -- point and be out at least this week. But it seems like for the other guys that that what it. Well or in -- standard that I'm not quite stature of these slowed down a little bit in practice this week and after he'd monitor for the ever expanding. Is reporting it's just it is unbelievable that you know all these new injuries. All on defense did seem to be virtually all her injuries aren't you sent at this stage. Aside from you know like in Washington and and stuff like that but armed. You know they just didn't -- indeed indeed. With some of the guys on the on the depth chart obviously COLT wouldn't say out two were were in completely different lack of work. A week ago so you know nothing official on these guys and and as. But what one way or another they find a way to do so even though you know they'd they'd -- didn't play great game. On Sunday and they were they were down. For all but the final two and a half minutes of the game I'm. Still the defense kept. You know hit it didn't. Did did -- nature that they were still in the game basically. Play from 44:00[44:00]" Yes they mentioned earlier. And -- earlier we've been waiting all for someone. Play from 44:29[44:29]" it -- it was it was a great it was a great defensive play call it was it was actual execution. Meriweather just completely. What it and it was much confidence. But it's strange here because you and some games we're. The Patriots defense is certainly the secondary. Outlook pretty pretty -- and I'm thinking about. You know go all the way practicing that was. I think it was -- you in the first game of the year in city. Some of the players in the secondary as bookmark would be interceptions and an adult O'Neal who has had not a real great year he's had really poor performances but he a couple of fourth quarter interceptions. That a quarter sort -- which one game still close under the cap it's against the Pittsburgh -- play it will go down you know certainly the season. And well it ended in January. Play from 49:05[49:05]" Yeah I have to admit that you know that thought immediately crossed my mind when he didn't come back into the game. That's the first thing I thought it was a while I want to of his career could be over just because we all know that. You know he's get a little bit long in the tooth and in -- if anybody could come back he surely would. I get the sense that depending upon what happens with an injury that. Play from 50:35[50:35]" But out the these are not great. Have have you seen any of those strange looking players out there and and -- yet you bought anybody ready to -- on a Jersey at the."

Play from 50:45[50:45]" Well among the jokes -- we've been hearing -- that it's going to take a flight out here may be Steve Nelson will come on out there but you guys. Haven't seen it yet I'm sure there is -- player -- urged its but it you know it that you make a great point because. You don't you read about all the time and it value in Monday's and Tuesday's. I'm. Teams have players come and for work outs. Keep their emergency was I going north or insurgent that there is a player on an injury or an adult roster spot to overcome the -- I didn't opt for the Patriots entire operation about -- so if they -- into at a player a player who -- You know I'd never -- on the before it. And they're -- it looked at. On rather than -- about Foxboro they're they're coming out here and while we don't pick that that could be happening right now -- know of course that you have. Aren't all they're practice squad guys. Here as well because -- they're practicing so really the entire practice squad. Odd but added up atop my head I don't believe they have any practice squad like actors. On in fact it did up until a couple weeks ago Vince Redd who at. It's a roster but he he's hurt now as well so on you know they have to practice squad guys -- need to add someone had at a certain position that they have on the practice squad. -- that's the east -- I'm but we'll see if if there's any other veterans that are are coming out. Did to take a look and and made it. You've got to practice field morals and Elijah. They used up there was -- and stay out records -- I don't there's -- one last they're media major Roman bike first up I don't well he's actually in the west coast but. Also."

Play from 52:17[52:17]" Well fact is that they always in for right at about half for the play of the entire game. And let's see I believe I hit the total here a moment Colvin was also win for about half of the plays defense with. Lol yeah which is which is that's just you know the more I think about it the more remarkable that really is."

Play from 52:36[52:36]" It really remarkable and -- and he called they were Colvin didn't remark. Is pretty I mean it -- you know he was in a practice he was in a training camp -- so up until three months ago he was working out go -- all activities. Junior -- hasn't done that in ten months. Since the Super Bowl ended he had not been involved in football related activities going through practices go through the practice routine film work and all that. On to step right in. You know and obviously that did the circuit joke has been at at. I completed my evening jokingly he was surfing I don't last Wednesday chatted with the -- out of all -- New England. I'll have to ask poor play and who's not achievements and -- at my locker all that I went to one goal. One Friday practice which private practices are armed often on you know are more low key not as physical. And it fired right back across the country and played not only -- like. You saw him. Calling -- defensive signals ops you -- sort of the one while on the players who was communicating with DPs and and that Patricia on the sidelines. And and then communicating the players not you don't huddle. It was like he never missed a beat it's amazing it really isn't it will be able to do and and I just separated out I mean was what the it was the performance in eight plus not necessarily mean so would -- bridge to only flew back into the Patriots sideline right there so you don't want a a flawless performance but to be out there at all. Is absolutely --"

Play from 54:04[54:04]" What -- your impressions of the game overall in do you have any real nitpick with what what you on the field and two on a Sunday."

Play from 54:10[54:10]" I'm like I would've thought that. Seneca Wallace is he impressed me. And I certainly -- going -- that you you know that that that the match up on the offensive indeed but why the Seattle law as to why. And in the Patriots defensive line. I thought it might be something they can exploit -- after Wallace a little more and they did. I'll -- Wallace impressed me with his ability certainly his ability to run and we do kind of going -- a quarterback who could run but I was really impressed with the way he ran. And the way he threw the ball to you know Summer Olympics -- the same one we are on you know -- branch. -- getting it open as you watched that first touchdown. You shouldn't happen. That play that I referenced a little while ago with -- out getting got Duke that is out of his seat right -- cleats up. You know Wallace had to -- scrambling all over the place you operate it already run. You know twenty yards crisscrossing steel he catches the ball -- is able to cross the fielding -- 64 yards or whatever wise. So they are still some tackling issues you know honesty. That you know. Does the pass rush hurt you went with without Wilfork in areas in the begat that there are and you'll. You're sort of the the edge that the Patriots defensive line and it had -- the -- and -- was almost neutralized when when Wilfork went out and it will at some of the guys were were were there on the field. Gary -- didn't quite get I watched that maybe they would've hoped did you get playing on the outside for the first Adam -- undrafted rookie. Playing -- sort of new position on that day. Aren't so their era -- six along those lines but. Part of it is just the guys they have on the fuel these are experienced guys aren't going to have to you know play with who they had so. I totally gives and it -- there on on the tackling on the flip the secondary. Both -- do enough. To keep the team in the game you know so would you be if you right there."

Play from 56:03[56:03]" Thomas O'Brien actually. It was harder for me become public -- this week even though you know it was a close win over team that was two and two and one in. And largely for that very reason because you know you're you're trying to play without a patchwork team and and and you lost more people injury and it was Tuesday a difficult situation but I had to pick -- I guess my overwhelming -- would be. Not being able to. Contain especially since they do most of the week that article Wallace is going to play not really being able to -- guy and shut him down early and make him have to strike you know and make him struggle because those first two drives looked like an all pro quarterback."

Play from 56:40[56:40]" Yet there's no there's no question you want something that's by distinct thing that some opposing teams have been saying about when the when the Patriots -- how come we couldn't. Two more games against this guy who's never played court and start an eight year since high school. How come we couldn't do more to stop this got recording it to St. Patrick any. I -- I I really was impressed by -- I didn't quite realize. What you're capable out. But you know when you look at that get an act I I really I agree with what you -- about you know the targets coupled -- that -- because it was like. What I look at these two teams rosters. If I didn't know. What their record were this year I would say these are two pretty even teams you aren't you look at people that that quarterbacks. They -- they've they've both have had and you're with with a it would -- hot it's been more injury problems across support offense with a hatred is more decent. The -- experienced guys -- players work accomplished players in the league. Just that the Seahawks had simply been unable put together and they haven't been able to overcome Iraq but to injuries. And their defenses played terrible -- the Patriots have been able to it just kind of plug a lot. And win enough games. I'm so. It's almost like these teams actually are either in. Mom or more even than their record which all and end it -- plays that way you -- kind of play that way until the Seahawks are home. Are you know they're they're they're probably. They're probably a better team into eleven would suggest. And you know now what the pitcher can hope for is that they play this way against the Jets and a couple of weeks -- going to be a big. For the Patriots as far as you know scoreboard watching."

Play from 58:14[58:14]" Right absolutely -- You know while it's tough to come -- pick -- that we've been you know kind of trying to. It would do on this team all year long and that's what we do best round yours you know Peyton is. That was the one I think -- from the -- on the ball offensively. We all. You know the return of LaMont Jordan in the backfield and yet we didn't really see what I thought was a a hard and fast effort. Two committing to the running game now. I realize that a lot of a lot of the reason for that has to be because the way the game was played the Patriots playing from behind. As you Horry noted almost the entire way until late in the ball game field. I thought that there were opportunities where you could grounded out little bit in control things a bit more. -- and tried to attack Seattle in the middle and they didn't really get a chance that never really never let that materialized it in -- talk about that after the game."

Play from 59:06[59:06]" I'm about that -- I know it actually they didn't it. Interesting point because they they definitely beyond the ratio want to pass was diagnosed but but quite I've watched it again that I can't bought 44. Attempts to opt out there really wasn't -- start but didn't actually point. But you know what you look at somebody. You know some of the -- they do like you know. Short tosses out the flop in the in the flat a lot of Wes Welker catches work you know these little slip screens that are you know quick release played like castle. That obviously get the ball out. Flat Aram out into the flat and and outside it it was where they they thought needed it could exploit. Some of -- some of Seattle's deficiencies to other than Marcus Trufant. I'm who did pretty good job injury market and it just thought yeah outside. You know outside -- short passes out flat would be the way to go on Welker had a -- that but I don't talk about the that that the run pass ratio but the white wasn't really working well until they really needed it here yet. Obvious that was working out that well put on that drive up you know Tim fox run their -- the goal line Puget. And you know you'd you'd hope -- it's getting there on third want."

Play from 1:00:15[1:00:15]" Anymore did score a touchdown vehemently on the ground. Should we also though nitpick the way the way of Randy Moss is because of the job the -- on did on him. And he did drop a couple."

Play from 1:00:26[1:00:26]" He did drop a couple there -- couple you know I I still. I still do like the idea of -- trying to work too deep to Moss Cassel. You know he just hasn't been executing knows. At all I mean some of these deep balls are very small percentage of but you know there was the one now I think it was a reverse got sick reverse. In any -- side to sort through -- ends don't. So there was I I think that I think that the blame if there is you're there to blame as to why and -- what has involved that would it up this year. Put eight Marcus Trufant. It is good quarterback who did the job on our hot spots."

Play from 1:01:02[1:01:02]" Can we feel good on them. The legal and illegal get to have fun now."

Play from 1:01:06[1:01:06]" I kept it would be nice to I don't I I believe he leader is on his French is he he he was franchise I don't remember yeah. If he was a guy who was franchise incite a long term contract or cute as a franchise the one year franchise tag it. I don't know the answer to that but hey that's. Without question."

Play from 1:01:26[1:01:26]" No doubt in my mind that if you're gonna go get the money in the league he'd be somebody that you want to take a look at."

Play from 1:01:31[1:01:31]" Yet I wanted to hit into an awful CR on Sunday I don't watch them open. -- eight without question I mean that is the position that they need them the most shore up it is it's defensive back and you know I don't think -- too much. You don't Deltha -- next year or."

Play from 1:01:47[1:01:47]" Do much anybody on the team resolute in his next year."

Play from 1:01:50[1:01:50]" People can we might not now it is decided they don't play -- some -- there and -- You know product to -- he had too much help from the outside. Don't stretch this year but yet those are going to go to a couple guys who thought Wahoo. Would look good next year."

Play from 1:02:04[1:02:04]" Well as got a broader public or transition here than to Oakland because that's why you guys are right in San Jose Guillen -- I imagine he probably has I would hope that Randy Moss would that would be you know figuring prominently in the team's. You know game plan one where the other they want to stretch that be a little bit you you cannot afford it. I don't think in any way I don't think you can afford to even get behind these guys on Sunday it doesn't mean he can't go back and -- it but like the biggest Seattle but I think Seattle papers but it seemed. -- Oakland even though Oakland they have one more win."

Play from 1:02:37[1:02:37]" I would I would agree I I would I would agree that that Seattle. Should be that other team majority -- with Oakland I would agree Q you -- their -- I don't care where your plant you get behind fourteen to three on the road -- that against Seattle it's tough to overcome that. They did in this case and hard to match that can do that -- a row but -- and some ways it's similar to their last. You know west coast stretch. No San Diego certainly at the time better team that Oakland is but the Patriots other first -- they do a team that they should have beaten anyways. Come after they're coming -- a lot last and is it just go. This time it's you know -- Seattle and got to prepare for a second -- And they were they were behind early get -- to -- they're behind early against Seattle they were able to come out with a -- you don't want to get -- capital and you know Oakland. This is not a very good team they're probably not going to have JaMarcus Russell probably JaMarcus Russell -- I don't I don't know -- it that the better that thing for Oakland. But I would think that much like the Patriots did. In the game against San Francisco I think the -- early. And you know I also watch is a great quarterback is part of the -- you'd you'd have to figure Dick Gordon they're they're going to try to double up. But I would think that the game plan is get him involved early. He's probably going to want to get involved he's probably going to be you know -- really. At this game and our -- about talent exclusively mutilated right. And you know what can -- not want. And you mentioned LaMont Jordan earlier and LaMont Jordan didn't think category -- level players at -- lost but I think radio I think LaMont Jordan is. Is going to have a chip on shoulder missed it. He ran hard yet it -- and don't you fumbled once and you'll at which they're only a couple of carries a four carries for Kerry's. I'll put on a couple of those I saw one Harden it a little bit extra yardage I think we might you begin final -- Jordan I think we might you at least vector into the into the it's accurate the discussion a little bit more and and -- a few more carries on strike I think they have opportunity here what I'm. For whatever -- these guys were a chip on shoulder. For Oakland. On -- to win this game and and and play stronger and at what you said. You know don't get off to a bad start I think there's an opportunity with the Patriots and Patriots defense. I've whoever's out there what -- what was -- Aram can really get after the quarterback whichever guy it is whether it's Russell -- walker maybe force's Q early turnovers. You can't let Oakland you know to -- 2143 lead but I I think this -- game that it should definitely. Be able to handle well. And what -- India has as many places that it's basically left -- that they need to they need to treat every didn't want to."

Play from 1:05:20[1:05:20]" Yeah absolutely no doubt about that what what are the local media in the Bay Area and they did anything at all yet about. Him in home. I don't know noble you know the fact that the predicament countering that going to have his."

Play from 1:05:32[1:05:32]" That not that I seen yet I write -- haven't I haven't really looked around today I am quite yet but I'll be getting into some of that and I'm sure eight you know you play replace him he came on the west coast so infrequently that. The group that big knockout act from Brandon Meriweather late in the game to a I after the two minute warning to the game would -- further toward the end that I thought it might I originally thought that. -- my score somewhere around midway through the fourth quarter and get it to a two possession game two score game and Seattle would not be able to catch up then it was only one position it was only a field goal. In Seattle was driving and they were about ten yards away from a potential try. At a potential field goal that would have tied it and it into overtime until -- with a came up with a back trips. And the recovery there. So that -- a couple of positive things that and with also Matt Cassel. This is really yucky I think lost. You know in the cover what happened Cassel led his second career fourth quarter comeback. The 2113 deficit going into the fourth quarter. He led a fourth quarter comeback obviously in St. Louis back in October. After trailing by three in the fourth quarter. On paper trail by eight got the ball 41 seconds left in the third. And then started a ten play 68 yard drive that ended. In a year ago now -- field goal point seven yards. Cut the lead to 2116 with 1219 left in the game. Then after Seattle part Cassel then led the Patriots are fourteen play 71 yard drive that took better than two minutes off the clock. Pictures by the way did you know this Patriots lead the league. Ian. -- play -- drives this year. No team in the NFL has more and plus play drives in the right. He did break -- three Cassel broke 3000 yard mark and and -- seven Patriots player in history of the team in 49 years throw for 3000 yards from or in a single season. The other stick can your name them. Well Brady Bledsoe. Grogan. Probably got those -- right. About the -- history. Tony -- Any of the other two. Hugh Millen. Era and and feel David parolee. They are the class evident a total of 3000 yards -- and he's in as a Patriots quarterback. I had won more than I wanted to bring out I think in speedway have a you're still. Oh yeah it is even asking the it is kind of silly one but in fact is chose the guy's got -- leg here. All the fifty yard field nobody hit the cut the Italy 73 late in the first quarter. His longest of the season. And second on the -- of his career. So now he is perfect in his Patriots career from fifty yards or more he's three for three. In the fifty or kick the 2006 divisional playoff at San Diego. Is three for three for fifty yards plus Patriots kicker. You know I mean that tells me is that he won't be great to step up and hit that fifty plus yarder when you needed in crunch time."
