You know that's how I feel right now. I don't necessary I'm going to be curious to see -- if you do or our guests on the show over the course the next couple of days or the media that I read -- that I listened to over the next few days as well can help me change my mind. But as of right this moment 2:13 PM eastern time. On Tuesday January the -- right now and as of this moment I think it's India who wins the football game on Sunday. Are reversible. But that's what I think right now I don't know what I'm gonna thank at 4 PM eastern time on Thursday by the time that we wrap it up. This week I'm not sure what I'm going to think 24 hours from now I it could be different I want to see how much I'm -- let me explain why. I think. Different things can happen injuries can happen the different stories can happen I mean are there -- things that can swing momentum but at least at this stage of the game. I'm thinking this way simply because number one I think San Diego was the superior team all role in -- accurately but it will really argue that. Fact is they were 14 into and I realize that there may be that don't believe San Diego played all that great of a scheduled themselves this year fact is they be 14 in winning records the patriots beat two. And so it's a little bit better. Bomb vague -- however with the rookie quarterback. They did it with the offensive and an MVP of the entire year of course the unifil Ladainian Tomlinson. They did it with a guy who easily could have been in the defensive player of the year in the league had he not been suspended four -- to -- In taking steroids in -- affected as impairments football talent is significant. San Diego's -- measures up against the weakness of the patriots offense I think almost too good to be true and the fact is is that. When you rattle Tom Brady you can beat the patriots and nobody has done more rattling in the San Diego defects 61 sex to lead the league this year but you probably or -- where this. But I'm seeing right now based on what I know and this is what I know. That one factor alone causes me to think you know what that that five point spread. There have now been established as a general number that the chargers are favored by Sunday I think is about right. Now let's see what happens over the next well so whatever the over the next hour 45 minutes of the show. The X factor all this of course is Ladainian Tomlinson who has three career games he's averaged better than a 140 yards in those recorder games against the patriots statements. I think the patriots may even be able to slow Ladainian Tomlinson down and by the way -- and I might I head. Based on what I've learned of LT over the course last six weeks of the season. And again I say LT was some reservation is to me I'm one of those old school guys usually only one LT course Lawrence Taylor. But I think this guy deserves to be called loyalty of the once recalled LT because he is a reluctant superstar. And I think humbly that that puts him right at the top of my list his traits are admirable he works hard he deflects praise he's not conceded he's not you know should respect is not one of those guys the pounds his chest. And I like -- superstars like that I don't know about you. But it's hard to root against a guy like Ladainian Tomlinson let's according playing against. I you know I don't think that they gives the the chargers any sort of an edge over the patriots on Sunday. But when you look at again the cold hard facts here. Fact is is that he's averaged over 140 yards in three career games the last time these two -- two years ago. And the patriots aren't going to match that that you and I and everybody needs to realize that right now he's just not going to be back. -- we're -- pat him on the back wish him well good luck with your money and -- you can find a spot that you know doesn't suck. That's what it's going to be left up to but he's not going to get the money he can command on the open market from the patriots you know what I know we don't know. So get used to that right now. And I'm sure the the other guys P of W guys have talked about this and we even mention this here on the show throughout the course of the season. What I am more convinced now than ever that we're seeing the last of -- the -- patriots uniform. And it's because he's put -- the kind of numbers he has an an and because it over inflates his value want to marketplace. Is he a lot down shut down corner now is he a good quarterback yeah he's okay. Is one of the top 101520 guys -- And probably is he one of the top four or five in the league know. And that's what he's going to command he's going to command that kind of a salary. Patriots could well I don't know you know if they thought about franchising -- that after paying the average of the top five players -- I don't think. The that's something that the willing to do. -- frankly I'm not so sure that they shouldn't patriots aren't quite as as roomy in the salary cap space that you think that they have as you may believe. So you know there are some other things in my -- goes into would have been on his. But his blog and I and I believe on his a notebook in the Boston globe. And I'd kind of heard some some rumblings of -- effect from some other sources and apparently his his source that's telling him what he's telling him it is -- a pretty good one. And so on it would a couple of different sources that I have for information on this very subject and can't get anybody to dispute so by that I mean. And I realize that there are many muted think that well it's not going to be over that his mistress and better. I will give you this. I do believe. That those Super Bowl winner comes out of this game on some. Whether it's San Diego or new wing. I think that the winner of the civil come those game and I sit there with all respect the colts and -- the ravens. And I additional money and if he's going to win coming course that again. Hey I didn't think -- last -- it was going to lose a game last night either and look what happened. Now they got they got whacked by -- so is it possible -- sure it's possible anything is possible it's why you play the game. But let's just say on the surface I believe strongly that the winner this game wins overall. Because they want to have proven whoever survives as badly proven that they will be and I think the toughest opponent on the way too. The playoffs. I for 1 am going to be rooting hard for the patriots to win. And -- to be rooting hard for the colts to win because I desperately want to see patriots colts match up. In the dome Exxon. The following some I think a lot of us would love to see that. I think the colts have a chance to win again. I don't think anybody should sleep on them based on what we saw them to. Against Kansas City this last weekend I think he gives the cold certainly a chance I think -- man will be more than motivated to go up against arguably the best defense in the NFL this year the Baltimore hands. There's nothing the Baltimore does offensively that really should scare. Indianapolis -- sensibly to be honest is that they can shut down in all Larry Johnson and the chiefs although you know -- green really does a lot of fear of people's hearts and I can see where you could go with -- you know Steve McNair and that he would be a little bit more of a formidable foe. Certainly from a quarterbacking perspective but I just don't think there's in -- going to intimidate the -- Stevens is all they're feeling as good as they have built all year long right now on as we are now. In the playoffs it is certainly all about momentum the colts have a little that right now. And the they have righted the ship they did what they needed to do we as the consuming -- a public need to be convinced -- this. I was convinced that from watching."

And I -- on some books and he throws a couple of picks which will limit the overall effectiveness of a guy like Tomlinson they the -- we'll have a chance to win. I'm not giving him no chance I -- right now I'd say that there on the outside looking in coming out of the program you're just -- it certainly. Marty schottenheimer has been a very good regular season coach that his career you'd have to say that he certainly merits consideration for the Hall of Fame when he is done because of his overall -- percent. Many as 200 regular season wins. Problem is -- boils. Playoffs he has been well we shall we say less. -- staller. He's five and 12 in the -- he's lost his last five games as a head coach in the playoffs and that may be the obvious fact that you already know. Local or global collected a pretty -- breakdown on -- the very good coaches throughout the history of the NFL. But it had poor records in the playoffs and I thought maybe you would find it interesting here. And maybe you would understand that Marty schottenheimer isn't pretty good company here and that may be if the patriots to win this game. And especially if you're listening from a San Diego perspective -- maybe your charged in may be tuning in from their website what I were welcomed by the way. He's been a part of I guess really one of the early dynasties in the NFL when he had you know Otto Graham as his quarterback you know the browns were you know around back in the 1940s is legal all American football conference. On they competed against the NFL like field -- filled it for a number of years. On this is all World War II stealth but they appeared in ten straight championship games. Tenth straight championship games every year from 1946 to 1955. Paul Brown was the architect of all of he was a part of all of his overall career record -- 166 of -- hundred regular season -- you know he was only for an eight in the post season. Aren't we -- you know how about George Allen. Tom Landry greatest nemesis as head coach. George Allen Redskins and -- Tom Landry the Dallas Cowboys back in the 1970s even into the 80s. I think was pro football's greatest rivalry and we have struggled to come up with a likewise the rivalry since that time I. I think we've got some decent matchups out there. But we don't have hatred on the field like we head on the field when -- cowboys met -- Redskins."

[25:28]" And George Allen. I mean he's certainly amongst the who's who. Of NFL coaching was legends he won 71% of his games in 12 NFL seasons with the Redskins and the LA ramps. And by the way among cultures with a hundred wins or more in their careers. Only John Madden and Vince Lombardi have a greater winning percentage that George Allen. And yet George Allen's record of the post season once the police to win seven"
[26:03]" OK all I'm saying here is that Marty schottenheimer. Who has 200 -- there was 200 regular season wins more than -- one of those guys. Should be given the benefit of the doubt should be given a chance to. You know continue to do what -- does does best maybe at some point -- he finds a way to get over the hump and became become at least an adequate post season coach. I don't know that won't happen this year. But I can also argue -- I think I can make this argument that if these charges to beat the patriots they are well on their way. -- providing that sort of relief and Marty schottenheimer. And I also believe that you know there are guys in the clubhouse in that locker room in San Diego who think enough of Marty. Personally would not have come back to coach the charges had not AJ Smith and who's obviously the general manager of the charges who has New England roots he's a Rhode islander. They think enough of Marty to have brought him in his coach begin with a bring him out of retirement remember he was doing the lesbian thing for a couple years after -- Kansas City. You know they think he can beat their guy. And they are trying now out of find their way to get over the -- but this year I mean 14 into the regular season hockey or you that they did their job better than anybody else. All due respect to balance of schedule and weakness and strength in this and that. They won the games on the schedule more than anybody else you can only play the games that are on your schedule that the league -- So I really relatives schedule strength that I about take it somewhere else. They did what other teams couldn't do that's the bottom line. And Marty schottenheimer. Was certainly part of."
[27:54]" Mom I realize that there's always going to be criticism. Palm on his coaching talents as the field of competition gets a little tougher that. There are curious calls that are made it. From the sidelines of teams that he has coached in the past and you wonder or did he get that and the usually blows open their face. I don't think that makes him any less of a coach I just think what it does it is it is something that he's going to have to do is a part of a self examination. I think that there are some he would undoubtedly believe that the patriots will win the game because Marty schottenheimer paint. Okay I guess that's a -- a I think it's a fair criticism from now but when you consider the bigger picture many years ago that one would -- because our quarterback for example -- Craig Steve Bono Elvis -- rock. -- one with a lot of lousy quarterback and I don't think you truly become moralist as say average quarterbacks at best. I don't think you'll find a single quarterback."

But he does have Philip Rivers now and I'm not going to put Philip Rivers yet on a par with any of those guys but of rivers can become you know large percentage of what Tom Brady as -- if he can lead this charge retain which is built up around him. If you can lead this -- the team to a championship on the you'd have to say that Marty schottenheimer belonged exactly belongs and that's probably amongst the game's best coaches. Again just an open. But schottenheimer has not really had that kind of quarterback. Maybe he does now and maybe that's the reason why he hasn't had playoff success. Good coaches have -- of success because they have all outstanding quarterbacks leading the way."
