So Jews but of the phone call 585437482 again 585437482. -- come up with some sort of a marketing slogan for the patriots offense. I mean at the rate they're going they're averaging you know 419 yards a game on offense -- scored 38 points a game. You've got Randy moss and wide out the year Tom Brady quarterback. He got Laurence Maroney at running back you Benjamin Watson at tied any Wes Welker he would Donte' Stallworth. He got Sammy Morris who I think is going to end up proving to be one of them the steals of the -- of the free agent off season you know offensive line that you know. Is continued to improve. Let's face it there a lot of weapons on this team a lot of weapons. And whichever one we kind of -- what I'd like do I -- the gold today would be to get don't. Maybe five or six really good suggestions that we get five or six good once. And then what we'll do tomorrow on tomorrow's program -- will you vote. That we could do the nominating process today. Look what I did. Look what ice doubted I static is Margaret -- added it's my name so why not give it ago. Web radio at patriots dot com not the one that I obviously the one that that was mentioned. That I thought was too obvious was pretty much that imminent element a sort of play on the old those sitcom which is an outstanding name. Life certainly is all encompassing if focuses squarely on the quarterback which probably should be done like that but I almost think it's too easy. However -- you know several of you say you know Brady Bunch is -- gotta be it has its catchy it's to deploy any idea what that we might throw it in there. But I -- in there to see but I just it's not a regional I'm really looking for something or regional today. Something original. That can't be that -- another some creative minds you your first of all you're listening to this program your fan. And I know you've thought about. [4:23]" You know I I you know I've got a couple of ideas in the in the back of my head quite frankly I'm not going to waste him here. Because you may come up with. Couple of news items that Brian Lowe was Tonya -- program if you missed it and I were kind of room -- about that I didn't get to a couple of and I and I wanted to kind of throw them out four -- thoughts on topic of conversation maybe a couple of slow him. Comments on one way or the other I know that they have been talked about at least a little bit this point in time but I think it it bears repeating because of the significance overall. On what's happened. News wise around the league with them you know the whole video -- story that that is encompassed in ensconced the patriots over the course of the last week and days first and foremost had to do with the fact that them and I know that this has been discussed somewhat but. Affected Brian billick of the Baltimore ravens over the weekend accused the jets of using what he termed any legal ploy and that is his word illegal. In a legal ploy to -- all. Baltimore off side during -- can't."
[7:52]" Billick said the jets defense shouted out signals to intentionally throw off their office. Now this is not the first time. That we've heard someone complain this back I even think the patriots are probably means been guilty of -- at some point where. You know guys from the line of scrimmage and they mimic the quarterbacks call by shouting out of instruction on the all the -- of linemen are waiting for a signal. From somebody and if someone mimicking a cadence or count. Can cause them to jump. Could cause them to change their blocking pattern what have you and it's you know is it illegal. I don't know if it's illegal. To the point that if we -- you know I mean I guess I suppose that you could get a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. But I think it's just sort of thought of more of a there -- non sporting thing to do a non cool thing to do if you will those be the -- of the rule books and little bit -- and I might be able to speak to that directly. But I don't believe that that is -- you illegality. On like -- that I do think you can get area. In -- five yard or a penalty of some sort maybe unfortunately common or something along those lines for doing that if you get caught doing it but you know quite frankly I wouldn't know if if someone's yelling something it's kind of hard sometimes tell who's on what. Anyway billick said that the jets he thought that really good job -- I credit the New York -- the defensive line linebackers did a very very effective job at the illegally simulating the snap count. He -- they did at the whole game long it needs to be caught. Well they were -- of the whole game long. And it is truly illegal than -- held in the officiating crew thought flag."
[9:41]" Apparently Adam Terry on their offensive line jump off sides couple times. -- new scheme jump offside in the first quarter billick says it's not an excuse but it is illegal our guys have to deal with -- I don't know how to help my lineman -- because you're in the heat of battle. And your calling the snap count of the guy across from you is also calling a snap count which is illegal. Okay well I'll believe Brian billick. But an obviously you know while I was in the with the jets do this."
[10:16]" And if they hadn't done it before. And maybe they have done it before other teams expected or maybe just maybe. You know they decided that this is -- that they you know could throw when they're for a change it to because of a definitive cadence -- pattern in calling signals -- in you know by the Baltimore offense. I don't know I I just I guess my my entire reason I'm bringing this up is that you know -- I'm I'm a firm believer of where there's smoke there's fire."
[10:48]" And it just so happens that this is coming from the jets. And I totally agree with Fred Kirsch in -- the story of -- when Fred in the last on the -- was about how he you know believes it was the jets that -- that videotaped jay Glazer I have no doubt in my mind that that is true. I have no doubt in my mind. -- you know the that the jets look at themselves in the mirror when they look at you know the patriots in particular."
[11:12]" It you know if it's illegal well okay then you're probably -- but if it is. An attempt to gain an edge -- psychologically or otherwise on your opponent -- you know the patriots leave no stones unturned. And there's not a team out there. That's going to play it straight to the vest you know and he you know argued go to Hoosier to them let's not fair -- let's not be jumping down -- broke the -- noncallable legal cadence. You know. Bowl -- muffins. All's fair in love in football that's just the way it is that's the nature of the sport it's highly combat of its physical it's emotional. And you know the whole you know he -- Jean -- try and think if there's a sports that that. So called cliche belongs in is probably football and again guys and ladies on call quoted as -- see. I've been around football my entire life. I sort of played football when I was seven years old."
[12:15]" I grew up in applicable state and Texas. Now so I've been around it you know good solid 40 plus years now. And I I have to admit you know it. You walk a line there hardly a day certainly not a week goes by that you don't walk a line between you know doing what you think okay you'll win. And do you think at 40 you notably the right thing to do -- It's a constant battle I think for a lot of people in the football. And I think the ultimate reason that that decisions are made has to do with that well so until pays my paycheck. I get a bigger paycheck if I win on successful if this helps me when I'm going to do. End of story."
[13:05]" End of story. If you're getting paid a lot of money to do what you do. And your boss sort of usual wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean bend the rules here. Maybe if you step over -- little wrist slap but you know the -- a -- some some and you paycheck next month. What are you going to do any -- being paid well to begin with RG to give the benefit of the doubt the employer or do you want to give the benefit of the doubt that the guy who's quote unquote taking care view. Portion -- human nature. Or you know is your righteous indignation that pop open so I can't do that. That's getting an unfair advantage over Joe Schmo down the you know -- central Ariel brand X opponent down the street. -- like those impersonation what's gotten into you today I don't know. We -- some food don't know actually as a it is the greens he had -- I don't know you know get those demons and -- just you know it just got me -- I'm I'm like you know this whole. Bit over you know people given up there you know expand them. You know if -- if -- be on what do we and the what they were argued about last -- you know some emails and what do I tell my kids you know. Parent yourself. These people aren't aren't you know I understand your your conundrum your problem but do what I -- my -- down easy huge patriots fan. He's 12 years old is almost 13 you know he's you know like dead the patriots really -- And as well liberal rules or liberal okay rule. And I say you know what they did was not correct they got caught doing it and you know they have to pay the price as it you do the crime -- do the time. It's as simple as that. But at least you know man up to and the patriots pretty much the -- That's it so I think the better choice here. That's a lost in this -- that I the better choice here is to not do it at all -- not go that route because then you'll be forced to make a choice to make a decision. But as -- if you make that decision that's fine you -- on your own and you might get away with a once or twice or even more than that. And that's when I told him. I said that twin arrogance comes and apply overconfident maybe a more accurate term and certainly one I think that he can understand. Better than arrogance. But that's what you get overconfident that you keep to woody keep doing and eventually going to get caught you can -- paid a price is just best not to start. So I didn't tell him no don't do that as a bad thing -- don't know. I prefer to let him. Reason it out in his own mind."
[15:46]" I mean to me that's what -- supposed to look at just what to give kids the ability reason and think on their feet. An in and use the head you know use that big pimple on between their two children write for something other than a hat rack."
[15:58]" And that's what I try to do with him I suggest that's what you try to do with -- children. You know becomes door do you live web that -- woman -- boy -- bill Bulger to -- well you know you don't necessarily have to do that. -- a big boy take care of himself. Sure you can take your yourself that you think ultimately that I was just such a rotten thing of the papers do that -- you don't want to follow the team anymore of -- the with a Norwich on the way out. And you know by the -- you know what you know what team to root for now I guarantee yelled dig up some the moment and it. I guarantee it."
[16:31]" Maybe get into Google your favorite team now from here on out."
[16:37]" You might have do. I guarantee you could dig up dirt on anybody in any thing."
[16:45]" You just can't. So I I guess that's really why I I. When I read you know that that billick was really kind of blown you know huffy -- over and I kind of laughed because it was the jets. And so you know obviously I think there's more of the jets that meets the guy and I do believe that the that jay Glazer got that videotape and put on fox TV from the jets. I think the ultimate -- I was gonna find that out and that you know this whole you know -- on the patriots is going to come back and slapped them right in the face. You know it's already going to hurt Eric Mangini professionally. You know because you know he better hope that he isn't nice long career in New York -- I don't know that the man gets hired anywhere else. Who's going to want to hire somebody that's going to wrap on his organization on its former organizations is not going to happen. I you know I think he's already damaged himself for you know future position certainly as a head coach they've been out as a coordinator but as a head coach -- And then then again if you -- the president it was a coordinator let's say he doesn't keep his job in New York. You'd hire the guys a coordinator. You -- bring -- and then you're going to be discussing you know relatively privileged information you know in the war room so to speak. Aren't you going to got to look at him as an all or -- rescind his opponent because he's going to go squeal."
[18:05]" Now let's say he gets head coaching job next year that'll that he's going to squeal and tell on us about you know what we do. I'm telling -- it's a legitimate concern did Eric Mangini do the right thing well at the time I'm sure he thought he did. Because he's supposed to be loyal to the person who's paying his paycheck. But you know this is a battle that there's just no real right or wrong answer here. It really depends on you the individual in Eric Mangini I think chose -- Especially down realizing that you this is got wide ranging repercussions. And so now somebody's calling him a cheater in addition to a rat now they're calling him a cheater."
[18:49]" I just you know who. This this whole video -- spike gate thing is is is going to have tentacles. And I mean obviously the tentacles were already out there but nobody gonna cut these things off is going to be like that you know octopus that you can't kill. Because all the pinnacle -- going to keep going right back in the Nixon going to get bigger and longer and -- and I really believe this hold and cheating mess. This whole story is going to continue to be like political. It's going to -- its tentacles around almost every facet of the of the NFL and probably eventually spread to other sports. It's not going away it's just not going to. By you know I think it's best that you get used to it I think it probably get into heaven too. You know be interspersed in our conversations for a while. When you consider rules that are broken and fines that are 11 suspensions that will undoubtedly be handed down in old between now and you know. 20 years from now whatever you want to. You know whenever they decide that they you know have a relatively bulletproof set of rules things without loopholes. Then I think you'll finally see it calmed down there's gotta be some more rules made there's gotta be people that there's gotta just be some things changed. Too many loopholes and I think there's been too much trust. And the the NFL -- Roger Goodell probably will get their arms around this issue is best is that humanly can. And I think he's actually done the right thing about try to you know put down along hammered -- law. He'll get a handle on this list nip this in the bud before it gets you know more serious. But they're going to -- start investigating you know. The patriots into the point we're all their videotape has been called into question well -- he got to do that with the other 31 teams honestly don't just stop with the patriots. Don't just make an example a lot of the patriots. Don't just hammer the patriots. He needs star hammer and other people is as good way to much talk in the media way too much talked. You know almost fans on message boards and new venues like this that other teams do this well if they do let's get to the bottom of let's find it out. So commissioner Goodell and those who reside in the NFL and ownership capacity in in the decision making -- always show some leadership now make sure that we start distinct. And we to a right. Don't just do this thing half past let's just let's go the whole way would. -- real cheating in real deceit going on -- not just what I called gamesmanship. That was going to the bottom of -- and bottom of it and stop it otherwise. Then leave well enough alone and let boys be boys or this case men -- men. If it's always going on wink wink nudge nudge know what I mean. Leave it the hell alone. You -- choice to -- that may not be the right choice to make what if you're only going to persecute one team. One individual then leave it alone don't go there. Usually only call people on a car but when you prepared to do a complete and thorough role."
[21:57]" Cavity search of the NFL. And that's basically what we're talking about here we're talking about bending the NFL over and giving -- a cavity search that's what we're doing."
[22:08]" So I don't you want to you know go there -- if you want to kid and that. All but you know based on reading the complaints from Brian billick in Baltimore that's the conclusion that I am left to give you today. Leave well enough alone or be prepared to just -- everybody because you're going to have some serious nailing the -- we've mentioned I believe was yesterday on the program that him. There was and I don't actually I don't know put him into this country probably know this but on the -- in addition to. A Bill Belichick allegedly supposedly getting a contract extension through 2013 on Michael Smith had written anthem. It was on Sunday on espn.com Honda but Adam's arm. Extended Jeff Fisher's contract as a coach of the Tennessee Titans court system a year ago he was on his way out. So last year was deal and and he was on his way out of everybody's thinking or is he going to land back there was some question is whether or not he would even make it last year. No of course Vince young came into play in the and that kind of changed things. And they ended up with a highly more successful season -- than anybody thought you know would be possible for the titans. And you know he is the NFL's longest tenured coach at a at a particular team. And he has got a contract extension says he hopes to finish out his career in Tennessee. So on the pretty cool he's in his 13 season with franchise that used to beat Houston Oilers. He's been with the franchise obviously since it was in Houston. And I think is actually in pretty good job so anyway Jeff Fisher going to be around for a while -- I know yesterday -- mentioned briefly about how via Atlanta Falcons. Re -- Morton Anderson my god he's -- 47 years old. But the falcons have their own problems on offense in the with the Evans of Michael think they also signed -- Byron Leftwich to not a one year deal a two year deal at quarterback. Which tells you they've really don't have a whole lot of confidence in Joey Harrington -- they. But left which apparently who's been plagued by one ankle knee. Brain problems who knows. Harrington apparently is going to be made the fall guy in in Atlanta foursome difficulties that are not entirely all his fault. Matt -- missed couple field goals in the loss to Jacksonville on Sunday so that's the reason for turning to Morton with who's a lot Anderson. How could you not root for I mean oddly rooted for the falcons for that reason alone just to see Anderson get on the field capable he's 47. He's almost -- old -- I'm 48. Morton Anderson 47 years old any still active in the NFL god bless him."
[24:57]" What was the record George -- it was how old. Was he 15 did he make it to 1515."
[25:04]" It was quite old but I'm pretty sure it was 5451. Somebody will email me that I I would hope web radio and patriots -- that I have today I had one other item. While -- talk a bit about Kevin Everett and bull -- get in the that would Mark Kelso from the you know bill and just let them put them. -- to admit that you know the biggest story has to do where that's concerned with the all fact that the -- doctors tended to him quickly and they had just had a training station over what to do if you read anything about the story at all. Quality -- an emergency you know kind of like a trial by fire or what they would do -- someone you know had a serious neck injury. And involved you know pumping on the you know chilled saline solution. You know into you know the person or kind of slowed on the metabolism -- honest -- nice to have but apparently it worked like you know clockwork and I think that bat. Type of thing that kind of stories and it really needs to be said was that we can get into that little bit more."
[26:11]" Mark Kelso is the is the radio analyst for the bills on the radio network former bills linebacker -- is here and said the patriots label. Mark how are -- thanks for the time."
[26:21]" yet to be guys that beat that it back meant only -- I am well. I'm all restore all let."
[26:27]" Fair enough fair enough a -- the story that would that you don't I think that the most people were really kind of talking about though has to do with Kevin Everett in the fact that that the physicians for the bills acted quickly to the point where now he has a reasonable chance to recover somewhat can you kind of give us a sense for you know Powell that number one that'll happen in number two. Are they are they getting the bills positions are they getting the kind of credit maybe that they shouldn't deserve"
[26:55]" I think 1 of all I think it is her -- a lot of credit I I know that the organization at a medical step. What I play was always concern about might help primarily before. You know before making sure -- was ready to play of the game. Before they were concerned about whether or not -- beauty employ it. And so they deserve a lot of credit -- but it's still think they have -- top step you know now. But they they didn't have any job and not the other the other club's medical people from other -- couldn't have done similar work but when it happened I think that the way the whole thing. Our -- fired is that a lot of this it was. Treatment I think is is innovative came some of -- from the Miami project hope to -- his real involved with the right. -- there. Yeah -- announcements going to school. Has -- pitching as very improbable as well. Researching in the end activities with despite so some of -- was a result of that but I think the most important thing was that they they used. This political and they had the opportunity uses in such an expeditious fashion when injury occur and an injury like
