Play from 1:22[1:22]" In the fifth avenue progress we are back on Wednesday from Scottsdale, Arizona Super Bowl 42 continuing. With guard. Coverage down here both on the net and on this is. Even though it's radio that -- on and he was like two sentences and he had messed up. But -- here we are on the all time in the Fred -- back in the boot Gary's hovering behind us -- lurking around somewhere putting up thirty pitches on the web stuff like that what. Who put up those -- we'll excuse me you as disparate as Ferrara who know how to do that. -- and united we got a lot to talk about the email addresses web radio -- patriots that comets web radio it pages that comment guys after media day we. You know kind of crazy day yesterday with the questions today it was a little bit more back to football which yes. You know okay it was here at will patriots were here at the west and Q and resorts off. But all the players press conferences yet no object the podium loss of the podium. And you hit the players in tables in the in the room next door. It was an opportunity little less media you the opportunity like Paul and I needed to talk to some of the coaches Eric talked always sick not to. This area oh and heatley some of the guys you can't talk to on a regular basis you'll be reading those updates on patriots dot com -- right around them the relative to where Rolen baby one out somebody's going to do for the rest of the day they show. Okay so what else is going on how well I went to a much like Saturday -- off after that but when we last. Left everyone yesterday you you guys were rock on your way to win there. What did you do our dinner I got drunk and eventually went to the media didn't let the media all dominated Julia burst. He opened up setting up the season -- with Tom and I did television. With at total compound word from work for the wife is some of the worst television ever Purdue likes it was one camera in the in the NB -- least you let us a chair I got a little stool to sit on on the edge it was freezing morons scaffolding that was moving. Although that out what's that guy's name was great down. I'll Russell's right the guy led the Mike Tyson and I -- where Mike Tyson he's right down the whether his spots down -- bunch of people there yet all the local when they called the domestic compound -- a local TVs were set up to shoot -- shots and satellite trucks and you know we weren't supposed to be in the -- but everybody Phoenix's nicely particularly want to thank -- it was supposed to -- in him but Nicklaus and once stopped anybody around you just going along very nice people well you know when to get out of the northeast that's what happens and -- being okay after miserable it's amazing how accommodating if -- but he -- right -- grass -- like -- here. The kind of -- well the only place I see nice Greengrass is at this resort every other front -- has -- a little -- it takes a lot of water here only with the media party -- pitched well yeah you'd. It weird. He just you -- on your own I left at one year old quarter to eleven knowing that I had to get up early to monitor was in order like that we. Those who eleven you up by yourself I left when you're able doberman and keep."

Play from 4:41[4:41]" our name."

Play from 4:42[4:42]" I like came -- just -- Mexico. Did you read the -- now Tom was going to I don't like it -- that they have some very good at that. I think -- so just so people know they have the media party last night this place called the corona ranch. It's a rodeo basically with fairgrounds and stop -- but they converted it into this party and they had. Still station's -- can last who indicated to a quick draw contest and things like that alcohol they had a mechanical that's finalists. And of course they had the boo -- and it's mind everything -- mentioning none of us all we were by the -- and -- part of freezing -- it was -- that the what does that currently fewer -- longtime -- 42 degrees 42 degrees oh my -- well -- had -- I. But it's pretty out here. But every time we -- to dry cold okay thank dusty to zero at the B eight -- that was funny in the desert you know it it's what happens that now ask anybody who lives around here this is normal weather. If it gets colder I don't think he's that. You talked about how cold Houston hold Jacksonville -- as you know -- miserable little bit you know. I just think you need to get a have run out of that was the first time I was out. But before we I went to the media party the Arizona fan club had a little gathering at their official watering hole called divine. In Robert Kraft showed up with -- Andre tippett and Jonathan Kraft in let me tell you the scene was a man out -- can actually watch it -- you -- Brian Lowe was there with a crew from crafts what's productions. In mister Kraft actually raffle off. A couple Super -- that's pretty cool cause I'm into their couple hundred people out so I had -- one in 200 and it went to that we gave out tickets that raffle tickets everybody was there just pulled any from the -- that. Guy man -- woman who won and he was from Vermont she was from New Hampshire so it was nice. Pretty interest -- that I was what it is that he come all the way here -- guy from New Hampshire Vermont with the like today they live -- they really these -- live they're from there they would call up what was like what kind of interaction that they get a chance to talk we have people advocate there's not a question I mean they -- I mean he wanted and he was just mobbed him. He just stood by the door they had one of those house. Speakers so he -- talking to that. And I just signed autographs you know countries signed autographs like for. Twenty minutes while they were there -- they were chanting Robert Kraft and all of the volume all of claim it was it was wild it was pretty cool you know blog about that. I didn't want -- to read I read was because it was because because because. Because of the ways that. Anyway so -- That's what I did yesterday what else do you guys do today anything besides the giants -- Thing now you have some interest in quotes yeah from Reuben Droughns that you need to talk about. Yeah -- all I."

Play from 7:47[7:47]" I just ask Ruben brokers Eli Manning said that he talks to pay in. Before the first time they played he said that the patriots defense is it that complicated they do what they do what they do very well. So they don't give you a lot of different looks and I -- Reuben Droughns Ls gold around the tables just what he's added in he just went off and said. Yeah I think it's -- I think it's true with any compared this patriots team for the 2000 ravens. With -- this defense being the 2000 ravens' offense saying that they're just trying not to make mistakes and let the offense do its thing now elevate yet. I guess it's true -- away. But just kind of comparison to that I -- most people think that ravens' offense was dreadful in the the defense won the Super Bowl and I think he was just comparing it that way. But it was an interesting analogy we put up on the blood you know there's also the thing about the blacks -- Apparently there's a report out now that the giants were black suits -- errors -- all the players and it was Antonio pierce was and suggested it. Now -- report out that they were wearing the black suits to mourn the death of the patriots dynasty. And the interesting thing is I asked probably twelve players about it and I got different responses from everybody and we Kawika Mitchell basically that yet you can put it that way. So he was admitting it but some people just started as I started asking the questions they just started laughing because they knew where it was going soul I think they do. That's that's the reason why they did where it and Dominic Dixon probably gave the best answer worries -- that no comment. And he said if we win on Sunday I'll tell you all about the black suits so. And it is that is some truth to that active yes why they -- is that a good sign for them or bats and at this so obsessed with like the patriots and you know what was thirteen unity to but I think it was there because as I forgot which once that it set. One the giants said you know we're we're going we're going to a fault we're going to an an occasion where you almost like we're going to a funeral he he was saying it and we wanted to be dressed for so. I think he he was kinda hitting towards the Super Bowl what it also had a -- of fuel there like. You like it yeah why not you think that's I mean why would they -- anything else their focus is to derail the patriots 100% that's all they have."

Play from 9:58[9:58]" Focus on and how they have particular meaning they know they need -- about -- they know the better team as the patriots you know deep down side. They're undefeated so mean no matter how confident or cocky want to be you understand that the other teams better than new and you have to do in this what you have to adaptive. You know patriots that the wear -- on Andy that they need to find -- many define things to unify and try to make sure that they all are confident that you going to win the game I don't want to play I don't want to be on a team that doesn't that you can -- I read my point. And -- underdog I expect that you don't think we like it when your big underdog to try to bring -- and the patriots used to do that stuff used to -- that. Because the patriots were the favorite did not know they -- like any other criminal four in Pittsburgh when they were the analysts favorite. He said he just didn't mean -- you you you you thought you said Griffey Davids but no no -- do you make fun of the patriots little little things that they do I think the things they -- 2001 were very effective but one thing where they were underdogs and want to comment that I think you'll find interesting is. I asked -- if he thought Rodney Harrison was the key to the defense is how he comes up in the box and stop. If he civil errors at the very physical player I would say the key players of that -- as a Junior Seau really he says he things that. All closed he simply I think all the players thrive off him and all the things that he does on that defense. It's stuff that nobody else can do on the teams a lot of thought that was an interesting -- to me that the cowboys prepared for the running and I didn't think it was interesting though in the AFC championship game in San Diego world I'd. You know not that they had terrible years by. Kind of lackluster he has Seau and Bruschi. You know I knew they ran around making plays all over the place and you wonder if they're just looking at it that finish line right yup they could sell out and yes I'm going to put at all this is it you know this is if he's. He's the last handful plays maybe -- I would have to think in sales and I and I still strong we think that it will be Bruschi is well last place in my career what do -- I I can't leave anything and word word in. From a giant size as a -- as wells. Certainly I think yet either side who if they win it's gotta be it's gotta be -- well definitely if Strahan comes back next year he's definitely go to training camp could computer guy he's been this big joke about. Like -- want to go and he was -- sit on the couch and everything's so. I would I would have to grieve seems like Strahan it's kind all balls he spot for semi retired easy out there -- Nancy you about. But also -- al Strahan pretty desperate battle lines someone had asked about the working out in the offseason straight edges laughed and he said if you. Considered junior picking up -- working out like this that was working now he said punitive pretty laid back guy off the fields -- by so. He's out of all but called working now we definitely hung in the offseason Salt Lake City you know. They were friends during the offseason and did some things together that sounds like they're both into semi retirement yes and time. I think what's going on today Wednesday later on you guys have any commitments and you need got to go to radio row par I don't know I don't fret that I do appreciate you -- taking -- my opinion changes again but no I want is so sensitive. -- just all of a sudden. No TVs and you are I don't. Like Anke and get -- part of the show today is going to sit there and he has been running out of gas -- you know who are running out of gas. Yeah building up we just all of what you just hate and I asked fusion I try to -- music and I did our. Since few black you -- But mostly takes a couple of hours that's not most people that like an oval liquid is getting involved I -- injected right and I guess that's a loaded question when he and he asked who should I try the chili and yeah. There is no bloody question was it was very good you food here is tremendous and we shouldn't try anything except you know that that stuff that you -- babies. You know. Right now let's get -- That would go over as well right -- let down by earlier -- lunch as. Well yeah. What was going to say you were on fire -- you combat that Gary was saying -- they over the radio yeah right they have quite a use them off with -- before the storm known it's a little busier and is win the world. Descends on. Scottsdale and the exit comes out of elite boxers -- sponsors guests and -- you -- to the modelled on the street and it's all right and Paul. -- probably would be quieter. Although I heard this year in this hotel when the patriots to stay in that if you don't have my room key or credits are you kidding you know property. So what are about it I'm not yet well unless you're in the back of are usually the lobby becomes like get him right. Yeah but you know usually just as critical current usually and missed out there. Usually the lobby becomes sort of a marketplace of people's salaries go looking for tickets at kind of thing and apparently it's not going to happen they'll they'll find their way you know they might in my platoon -- on your ability to stay out of all of with the security around here -- kind -- power and and plus you know I I decided. I think you know I'd side that act in officially the Boston Globe must be official newspaper of their own page of this -- the only the only media people out to be inside this this hotel Boston Globe personnel. Them because every time I want to lobby someone from the globe is doing an interview with somebody. Well you Jeff McMullen my Gator big -- they have to get ready for the in nineteen you know book that they're selling. Trio that handled by the way I was at a city you know and -- meeting about the nineteen noble today while the -- may have been the vehicle was flaws all the glow fired back this is not -- penalty shots of the globe -- That is to become eligible for releasing that Booker on the -- where's all this taking place he'd bring it speed. And today's that names and faces in the glow they shot back that herald what do they -- say first that the globe you know is chinks in the patriots by releasing or promoting this book you know before they actually and and -- on the -- that the circled as a rule book. And an even god bless the herald the giants -- using -- for fuel. I doubt that they don't carry patriot like but that's very patriot like that they have -- own book. The blinders on focus on how well since funny usually at this time these two teams kind of fall over each other trying not to take anything even remotely controversial this one yeah it seems the opposite very little that we -- we're gonna win you know Tom Brady today. He sees it Renault was 231745 right he wanted to. Yeah points on the board Soriano -- that's -- everyone's -- to what they feel -- go out -- talking about the parade -- and -- you know -- that's out -- is -- happy about -- I don't know it -- Happy 8 o'clock this morning -- has also smiling at his Rutgers his son -- I don't know when he unreal as the records kept -- 123 apparently on the Rutgers lacrosse team he said that you know -- been doing musicals on an -- time he got his closet ego that's going to happen in my house I was feeling is washer. -- in order to get a nice feed them well congress -- bigger than I think that comes in here how. What are you talking about -- stealing their. Their father's close and then fathers of eventually being at all the way that's as close he may want to lead and then his car's feeder -- I I -- okay but he was very giddy again Tony -- see from the Cleveland. Plain -- plain dealer. Asked in the Washington one of his biggest adversary right by the right his time right away and now he asked the question what you learned in his time at Cleveland and Mickelson. -- Salt -- Tony -- and also. We should discuss he was discussing his time there and he needs sort of a reference on what was exact reference also the owner somebody meddling with -- he said something about you know I I put together the of the team on the roster. I had some help with that. But that's -- on the story on that's for another time it was like it was I swipe at someone gap media had a little spark like it wasn't like maybe art Modell was mentally with the Lombardi -- what's who's the guy that was Mike Lombardi what's that -- Fijian I'm not sure what did he just mean like the Indians in the clothes are -- that whole thing now I'm not mean being able that was in big -- that was a big deal right with Oakland the same impression of that he was taken a shot at somebody but we -- know exactly what the shot me right. Okay but I I think I thought I -- a smile again nobody thinks the follow up on this stuff for a while. I'm not saying you what -- won the things that got bella -- so much hot water was the wind -- are called the audible. Threw the touchdown pass the quarter of the end zone. And then Belichick got mad. Yeah that I believe he pulled him from the game. For called the -- in that was the big -- to a touchdown pass well Belichick was -- the audible lava. What he wanted to do within that kinda got the fans against him is colds are was such a in the legalese that we couldn't run the ball like the -- today -- He had a lot of things that got him out water and I don't think. It was interesting like a lot of the things that we say you know people ask us all time wise -- much better now and wise but what's different about now and he talked with some things that we don't you know we always kind of from you know about delegating more responsibility -- distance and just an an overall better understanding of the salary to happen in the ways to so to make that work better when you. You know miserable -- dimension Mo Lewis to mention Tom -- And for the third straight day he did mention that Wes Welker was good against the patriots went in Miami and they had to double team him and even that didn't work and even picked up against I don't understand someone asked the Wes -- question every freaking day you know the amazing part about the question is -- almost always asked the same exact -- You know what was -- about Wes -- in Miami that attracted you to him. People should be we require -- to read the transcripts no question you know at least one yeah last -- I'm thinking of asking about Wes Welker has -- You know anybody asked this question before us here is. You don't have to ask it hasn't but they don't play in most of these people. That that come down here to -- the press comes here all week in Iraq all of these press conferences."

Play from 20:23[20:23]" But they decide it's like they have Bly is not only for what they did that day and -- the next day like doing well right now -- used yesterday my thought another -- and Randy Moss is press conference on somebody who I'm guessing at some sort of ties to the green Bay Area asked about. The other possibility of him going degree -- deep threat talk to him about wanting to get him there and he said Brett did try to contact him but he wasn't available are able to make that connection. And when he was talking with the Packers they were talking too much about the wrong things and he hung up on them. And basically the wrong things were Donald driver's our number one receiver you if you come -- he can't step on his -- with that -- grandmas want to go there was a good quarterback if he'd be the number one show. Well it's interesting to advance Josh mcdaniels getting interviewed yesterday and according to the rooting -- today -- that's right -- according to the quotes I read yesterday in the analysis of those quotes. People are saying he's not ruling out so he has out of this I ask him today. And then first started to sort of slap me around a little on the I think that was me and brought his own back as a little bit hasn't recognized -- actually respect -- I -- I noticed that you know. It was one of us and I wrote that nice pulse story animal while ago that his mom liked and you know maybe -- kind of but he said after the Super Bowl he will consider any options that are laid -- proud -- and do the same thing you know -- Redskins are waiting right after the and well he should've waited he didn't say -- never definitely interviews that you weigh the pros and -- and make a decision for his family again but. You gotta think you fifteenth Schneider comes calling that's. There's going to be a lot of money on the bottom here but the question is what are the stipulations of the job. -- I just I mean you have to work with cities -- 2 years old and somebody comes and -- and leave -- for your -- 120 million dollars you turn that down you know that's -- your family up for life that's true there's no guarantees in this world that's true no guarantees at all. That's true."

Play from 22:14[22:14]" I think it would be a bad thing a good thing for me Daniels of that happened but -- bad thing for the lead if it happened it just that the bad precedent for what to hire young coaches -- John our coach up and coming to pay them millions and millions that I'm aware that a penalty retreads million dollars paid college coach. However -- NFL -- what do you pay somebody like Bill Parcells -- millions more by turning -- twice -- credit where it was the sports business -- a guy makes a lot of money the next guy who's as good -- better makes more and nobody thinks -- complain about you know we -- collective bargaining agreement and then -- go do stuff like they're doing and then they complain -- that you don't have a good coach he can't -- that -- some of the most important aspects of -- understand but don't complain about the -- complaining. I just about every owner -- yet that's my problem I want to get onto that then the CD -- you brought up Fred and that part of it. Did you meet him was that the Denver talked about. I don't Matt Boland yeah yeah and I didn't really and I recognize it of myself yeah. The problem is yourself and you get these owners -- these -- contracts to guys like you know. You know -- guys. Courtney brown well you know Snyder is is the first -- but they -- it's crazy contract -- that the complaint we talking free agent we talking rookies don't. Well whether he's the rookies isn't their fault they can't fault of the rookies because -- I was -- down their throat and that's about I think that's what -- of some of -- stuff but he's talking about. I was always thought it would -- I was it was very much similar who all the stuff the ball well. That we kind of you know we poke fun because Ralph Wilson's and so foolish people the way. But don't forces in order to sign any. Player and I that's the point they felt like -- I think -- in India tonight against it it I don't I don't think it has anything at all to do with how we get from Josh mcdaniels free agents you're paying a lot of -- don't complain -- the salaries are too -- they think salary -- is out of -- so yeah I guess if you don't spend money -- Mike brown people criticize you spend money it's your -- the little spending too much you spend it wisely like the patriots and I don't think that's what -- listen and it went less patriots is the right way so that Denver I don't know it's not been criticized in the past -- being -- yeah against him but they had the strike this -- you know what let them criticize that because we have faith in what we're doing like the white. These people don't have the the faith in themselves in -- populated here -- to be able to take that type of criticism and do the right thing I think there's a point that is the point but I think I don't think Jimenez I'll I'll I'll I'll defer to you if you read something that I didn't and I didn't need apple and complaining about salaries in individual and he's complain about the -- And how high. And not being -- a point where -- diminishing returns for some of these -- I don't necessarily -- you know my feelings -- finding -- I think the patriots -- I -- the -- they found -- to generate -- things -- they -- replicate -- percentage has -- yes and that's -- residents have -- but that was the -- and -- the -- has -- percentage -- has gone to the players that's right -- right -- and that's -- the cap -- it is going to -- by -- announcement -- I think what's happening -- for some of these -- and taken aside believe me I think you need to find ways to. To compete that's what you want to do but that's what they can win don't complain I understand but it is don't know five million dollar signing bonus for free agent that they didn't sign a lot of big money free agent last year than having a hard time keeping up with the -- that's all I know over -- you know a lot of these owners. You know this table we can't make the same money as the north Philly or new -- that without talking about but you know they're not losing money. But you know so but they're really saying is in order to compete. In salaries we have to spend more we have to not make as much money is an -- It's not like Alice spend more money on players than buffalo they spend the same amount it's just that -- a lot of -- to make this much when he gets out that's what they're. -- about. You live in buffalo okay see -- only going to make ten million at the end of the year instead of fifteen a year absolutely had to move to a bigger city to get. But don't you think that affects your ability over the course of time to continue to put a winning product on the right now is because you're all working under the same. -- as much money Friday tried to keep paying those gallery know it all next effects you don't make as much profit you asked right. But the easy for you to say yet not -- I. I believe it was built upon we're all in this it's not -- making profits -- I understand but they all look at the same amount of money from I share revenues and who puts in most of the money from the shared revenues the patriots the teams that don't had a scope. -- haven't both ways I just. And I won't be right perspectives of the year you know different story if you know organizing the same thing about the -- you know we also laid it I think we'd look at it differently if we're middle market right small market -- And it. You know it's easy dissidents say what you should be you you make in ten -- like you lose money when someone else making a hundred. I mean that's not necessarily spend ninety million for salaries that they can do with the other things for -- routine that is true they can't do they can buy build better facilities and with a bright lights out any offseason and what what -- as general it sums going to walk by it's going to. Did you happen it's Super Bowl -- I somehow we turned from Josh mcdaniels potentially considering an offer from the residents say it is bad for the league if that is I don't ever -- and I understand that it's that the bat pretty happy president. Because exactly what we're talking about and one that you're defending Ralph Wilson now you're the first inning to what -- Daniel Snyder does what he did with the Margaret Williams and you know that hurts a team like couple who can't afford that. Right Super Bowls of the Redskins want. I've got a good point I don't know I don't understand the point at all but well I I agree with -- Andy we have a Super -- going on net and who's that okay so go ahead talk what you said what you said. I thought you were saying coming -- about it's bad for the league Randy M
