You know with all these injuries and each has chronicled in the defensive backfield I wondered maybe he's on -- but shortly of potential guys come in obviously would need to learn a system he knows the system. Depending on what kind of condition he's in. Might be -- to bring in very late in the pre season -- his price -- well yeah. Absolutely there's a lot of things that that would depend on but I'm wondering if he's leaving in. Consideration at this point we know they had they had interest in him say back in -- Jim and I wonder if they would. Have closed that door completely they're thinking about what they consider him at safety. I don't know if he has steal of the -- to be honest with you. I hope I mean I've I've seen Ty Law play at fraction of the speed that you want that you still finds a way to. To be pretty competitive I think based on his first of his overall competitive nature and his his experience and in knowledge now. He's not going to be a guy that you want to lock up -- team's number one receiver and just say. Deion Sanders -- and cover him he's not that guy anymore but I think he can only get -- I was with Ty Law are as when he cornerback and are you feeling."

[9:27]" I think you definitely get by you could to a lot worse than having Ty -- and defensive backfield. I'm I do think he's versatile enough they complacent safety I think he's high moral free safety that. I think this size it's overrated a few times you know. In this day and age in the NFL all the spread offenses in not a guy that has to be in the box all the time you know playing these running games I think you can be. A fourth safety fifth defensive back hybrid position and make a lot of plays back there I certainly think his knowledge for the game and his knack for being in the right place you just open him up even more to those situations and safety that does have more the field where he can roam."

[10:01]" And to back up Eric in in in Andy's point we did see him you know flip flop and a little bit in the past you know with those gimmicky -- they used in Indy. I think the biggest piece of news come out of it in my mind as we saw Matt Light out on the field and really doing thing was kind of hanging out the offensive line group. -- but it's the first I've seen of him in. We and a lot of other guys that weren't out there that's why they -- Russell and -- not out there. I'm Ryan Callahan was out their way out to do stuff with the injured players but. You know I didn't see a lot of guys out there Matt Light was out there shaved head -- he's Stephen Neal you know it was not out there so. Maybe Matt Light is starting to at least you know somewhat -- start the process of getting back towards the regular season because they certainly could use any help they can get on the offensive line an -- that struggled in the opener. -- on the injured guys. You you just wonder at what point. Do they have to go on without them but it's like and are squeezed back obviously no system and -- you know he's done it in the past where he's missed portions of training camp -- out there late in the played in the regular seasons so keep an -- and then moving forward. Well bookkeeping all the Patriots will be on the game today field in -- team tonight for two -- work out they projected to be. At this point weather weather permitting close to the public but the media will be there -- as though club updates on Patriots dot com Michael currently. Tampa bay specifically is a good opponent for them because they do things totally differently than what the Patriots to them and bite -- talking while Baltimore plays 34 T even know not the same exact style. Tampa plays a a traditional you know at Tampa to you know with the fourth three and obviously going to a lot of that and various spots. So that's one thing that you can look for this week is a little bit different preparation for an opponent. That's a little bit different than what they do and I think that's good O'Neal talked about their physical nature and you know it's good football team on the road that's a good test for them mine going down there but really -- mean it's. It's just staying healthy and and continuing to fine tune now. They have areas that we've already talked about that a -- and get a little bit thin defensive backs you know the quarterbacks and you know somebody's spot you know I think there's some concern on him we -- talked about the offense of line all summer now talking about quarterbacks to. You don't want to get that -- ball -- winners in -- a news stand and a lot of different."

[13:45]" I'm looking for somebody that you. I'm looking for somebody to step up and definitively claim that number two quarterback spot. Which to this point -- all happened not seen will not have somebody will be awarded that spot no one's going to claim and if that doesn't happen I'm also looking for maybe some elected John Kitna to be brought in. Ashore as a veteran who has just -- it against Padilla and I was hearing that over the weekend. Errors and it's it's. That the these sources are these horses it was not at all not being named onus is on an island on an early and sources do two things I've been hearing or reading. I didn't anyway out tell you what I'm looking for. My new favorite player. Gerard -- to continue his development. I thought his debut even those in pre season. Lived up to virtually all the hype in terms of the union's idea linebacker making impact in the game third and the way he has come on over the last. Ten days I'll say ever since he jumped up from. He was relegated to second team do -- and with the ones they can fight and practice practice if an out greens in the back field. I can only imagine when he gets quote comfortable out there in his instincts can take over. What he's going to be he spoke a little bit to the media today about his debut and how is feeling his development."

Watching film -- so is this -- to talk about being student of the game and being filmed junkies and and then his guys that actually are. Doing those things and at night the first round pick he he knows he has a lot to learn in the in his learning."

[16:53]" And to -- full circle start talking about Chad Jack. Appointment. When he was draft that he was old to a as the guy that they've given a page the playbook and had done a tremendous job. Diagram of breaking the whole thing down in the -- not have any problem making the transition to a pro offense or three years later we have seen that. We've been all the same type of thing on drug Mayo and two weeks into essentially his pro career year training camp. He's allowing us with his instinct -- ability to run around his moving up the depth chart so. I tell you I'm as excited about Gerard Mayo and watching him play as any young player that played here since I've covered the team. Because he just seemed have the total package and I don't want to over -- them and you know don't put his busting -- just yet but. The guys he's not let me down yet and anything he shown no -- Europe's two era Erica I think fans agree with that sentiment -- mean he got a he got. He gave us the kind of show that we were expecting then let's hope it continues there's the receipt just avoid the plateaus as long avoid the plateau in his development. And he's keeping it like like you guys that he keeping that evening Q were you saying you know yeah. I was nervous I have a lot to learn but your right. If if he gets that point where he's not thinking anymore just reacting in -- yeah it is going to be scary for the opposition that's why I'm advising fans right now don't hesitate. Go real deal don't get the the replica Jersey.
