They head sort of failed to die diagnosed green pass I'm not sure if you know posed in the -- maybe none of them yelled out green or anything that they got a little lackadaisical and their defense there. -- yet I didn't think it was the greatest practiced a little I don't sloppy all the way around a different point. -- at the offense at some balls and in the ground. On some of the guys that out for the positive but I will say David Thomas made a couple of real nice catches on it's clear -- day one handed catch. On Wes Welker was his usual self I thought aside from his first day or so back from UP he's been Wes Welker I thought it was stated he looked the most like the -- out in campers. He was on top no question not only running is underneath stuff he caught. I want to say Jeff showed my new guy going down the team and just blew right by him for you know show was prior like everybody -- think -- all here's where does a little -- cut laughter cut right and he went right by him on the team and I broke catch. Would have been a potential touchdown in the game. I'm -- now on the other side of the ball and and obviously lot of passing went on today you can tell by what where got in on an -- thing. On -- is in the defensive back field. On -- lot of nickel work today on your head basically six guys up front what they call them the 33 front with three defensive linemen three linebackers but dale on -- in -- Lotta times in the middle for that. Then in the secondary. Brandon meriwether playing primarily in the slot on it by defensive backs on the field. You -- James Sanders and mark Dillard. Playing safety we -- Harris now dealer or lights up there. And then at the corners you had Ellis Hobbs and Fernando Bryant as quote unquote your starters but then rotating in with Terrence Wheatley. For both guys so you ended up with different combinations of those three corners but only playing on the outside with meriwether always -- in the slot there so. I think he seeks an interesting roles developed in the second and we just sort of talked about it it almost looked like. Hobbs Bryant in week we're in competition for the two starting corner job. But whatever guy doesn't win that doesn't I slide into quote you know your nickel job when your fifth corner job. -- his fifth defensive back job he might slide into a defensive back job though it looks like meriwether is clearly on your fifth defensive back right now and it's going to play in the slot with some safety corner hybrid -- it certainly looks like."

And and and Bryant it was Bryant and -- it was -- those guys and it changed the words seemed like Meriweather stayed out there. And that third corner and never got a right there they went six I think that point you you brought it up and -- And not you know it might just be today it may not be anything go forward but we've kind of speculated that meriwether seems to -- the nickel back. And -- the fact that you had Harrison not there today kinda tells minute Mayweather probably is that nickel back because you would have. You know you would think that you would pull one of the corners out they're not marked Dillard has one right safeties."

Chad Jackson got every rep with the first group DJ Jones was second. You know -- Jacque Jones in the pre season opener where remain a bad pitching catching one inside the five fumbled one sort of had a bad game and those two guys are now on out team and the real deal guys around on the punt return team I think that's the sort of shows that. Business is picking up as they would say you're getting closer and closer to real action and -- you know the guys had their opportunities they couldn't grab -- by the horns it's time to bond they may have done that. Then one last note -- practice Jeff hostetler. Won a Super Bowl -- with the Giants but is also the uncle of rookie free agent tight and Jonathan to bar right.
