You started to see these things a little bit more often you know last year against the colts Tom Brady doesn't to a post game press conference this year against the jets -- Bill belichick almost you know disdains Eric Regina -- at midfield. Play from 0:04[0:04]" This season PFW in progress. I don't know if everybody -- present. Good to see UD FW and progress with renewed courage I mean you don't they. Ahmanson made its estimated patient's right to make sure it doesn't stick and who would show -- more decisive in these people's. Little -- majesty do you drugs."

Play from 1:08[1:08]" Some guy means."

Play from 1:09[1:09]" On the costume custody of the oh reflects like -- you know what -- constantly. Things -- get."

Play from 1:23[1:23]" He wrapped around PFW in progress and just was now."

Play from 1:32[1:32]" Okay it's."

Play from 1:36[1:36]" Okay we're. It's."

Play from 1:43[1:43]" And local VFW progress this -- Thomas -- you would vault rule. Enjoying the god father -- two years well I did not know that we will run if you weren't here talking youth leaders there it's wet radio patriots that comes by 85437 Horry too if you want to it was called a lot to talk about oh another tough loss for the patriots them home but I guess we should lead off with a news of the day Paul."

Play from 2:13[2:13]" And we each were three quote. Who have broken -- recalled later baker who is there."

Play from 2:21[2:21]" That's amazing by the way I can I still cannot believe that he has that problem but the -- the people not like candy heart he's a real man right Richard Seymour man of the people. The field conditions here at Gillette stadium that we've grown accustomed to seeing over the years is little more gonna change its feel the earth is being installed as we speak broken by patriots dot com -- elope. Right out right now patriots football weekly -- their right now field -- is being installed for the for the bears game whole -- torn up they got bulldozers and everything else out there. So that's that both she got what she wanted to he got the field -- 40 do you think this is going to. Change does that does dynamic of the team if at all Paul."

Play from 3:08[3:08]" Well I think first and foremost and really the only important thing is now at least the games can be played on it suitable -- surface and I think clearly. Moving forward this year there was no alternative because it that it was a mass on Sunday now any any any grass field would have been -- on Sunday -- not trying to put this on and the new -- whenever. You get at a moderate and -- short period of time in a national service it's going to be amassed and it was now the my point going forward as an update. It was fixable they're going to have to redo the whole thing Brian you know from scratch and I think this is probably the better alternative. I know that some terrorists out there like any hard you know think that filter isn't the way to go but I think it's it's a more natural it's the closest to natural grass that you can get and for the northeast when weather is affected -- think Tom yeah."

Play from 4:05[4:05]" It is something I think probably in five years may be other than Green Bay. There's not going to be grass it would this new field turf everybody loves that. And he may be in the southern states shall keep it out Miami yet now you can have a grass field in Miami all all the other places yeah all the places where there's a lot of snow and rain in everything I used. I could imagine playing on the field on Sunday I mean I really couldn't did it look like you -- get any 40s and that takes away from the game in my opinion I -- Alex Steve almost no guy album mud guy I love that stuff but. You all I also like to see crystal ball but that's."

Play from 4:46[4:46]" My point you know everybody -- that the phrase that are -- which uses that's the waiting game was meant to be played you know and I don't necessarily think it was meant to be played the way it was played on Sunday. You know -- neither team can get any -- can't really -- a whole lot of anything offensively because the footing is not. Not good enough I don't think that's the way it was meant to be played now should the elements -- actual nuts and at every game should be played indoors you know if it's raining -- play in the rain between do you play in the wind that's fine -- that their condition of the planes -- acting should be a little bit better than it was on Sunday navigated through no fault of anyone here it's just that's the way it is in the northeast it's going to be. Tough sledding when you get that kind of rain you know act and it rains don't. So the field turf in the but as far as the patriots performance it kind of looks like the way the field looks right now -- us and I think it's maybe time for a little patriots therapy young you and I are going to be in session. Taking the E mailers in which just haven't -- couch inherent ethnic and have a therapy session because I think everybody kind of fluff off the Indianapolis game as you know bad performance by the patriots turnover filled still had a chance to win. While this game was different this game I think you're. You know outplayed you know the players Richardson was pleasantly said out coached them. I don't think the jets are as good -- team as the patriots were rejected the colts are are -- level with the patriots I was you know is easier to right kind of blow that -- off but this one. I think the the inferior talent because in my opinion the better teams so. And it better be in session what do you think."

Play from 6:32[6:32]" Well the way I cia is -- people say in well let's not over react from just one week overreaction from just when I heard that that in times last year yet and the patriots have played two good games in my opinion Cincinnati at Minnesota. Since they played those games. Cincinnati's 11 other game up and it was a three point went home to Carolina and the result doesn't want to gain since -- it went all the way a game that Carolina and chance to win in the last minute project on the inception and so even the we both were the only two games that they played well they -- well if I -- the bills the second time around that they -- them but the first game against buffalo live play well they didn't play well against the dolphins. And this passing game problem I think people are Pickens to open their eyes and it's going to also be fix I don't see it that way I still think the receivers are what they are I don't care that Jabar Gaffney. Made that nice one handed grab I still think he's Jabar Gaffney and."

Play from 7:31[7:31]" You know at the biggest problem to me Thompson back up your point is I think there's it was played as well as they can possibly plants and ya -- call played great excellent at dot Jabar Gaffney as you -- That's is good is gonna get. I don't think they're going to get that much -- maybe Jack Jackson you know you know finally gets it at some point during the course of the season in and starts contributing are on a regular basis but. Other than that you expect -- 99 for 90 of the week at a Reche Caldwell Ed would you say -- Jackson's. Fourth or fifth on the depth chart right now. -- because. I would say that he was fifth that but with the possibility of being -- now because Gabriel and have been right house"

Play from 8:12[8:12]" as probable. So I mean that's not a good sign the offensive line. I don't know what I don't know what is going on there every week there's breakdowns Brady's didn't kill -- he got. Murder in the game against the jets -- goes a couple of times I -- believe he got up there reminded me of the Broncos game from last year in the regular season retook all those kids you know they put the money in the offensive line and held it deals now but -- that -- unit should be playing better than it is right now yeah I mean really in."

Play from 8:45[8:45]" We've heard a lot of talk about the offensive line. You know sort of being patchwork group -- I don't really think that that's accurate it -- missing starting right guard Stephen -- right you know Yates went down in -- time -- is ahead of gates and the -- Jan. So that should have been and -- missing -- right guide. I don't mean I think the world's Stephen Neal I think he's a terrific guy. And I think his story as it is amazing you know coming from where he came from and I think he's a quality player but if the difference between having and not having Stephen -- this much. -- accused acts. Ten times in the three games 33 and four I want us. Three against Minnesota three against the colts matter yet -- and it wasn't it wasn't three obstacles but whatever he's he's 23 and -- this -- more frequently lately. And that's a bad sign. Yeah I mean four against the jets and as you said -- many many others."

Play from 9:45[9:45]" He was and this reduces the jets team they came in with 12 sacks three were from Kerry roads so they're defensive -- At nine sacks of it is game they -- and this is the problem -- the patriots offensive line has no idea what to do -- public does not mean these guys are committed untouched. But always as well who wouldn't want more -- become -- you know with that that's for that's ridiculous and that's pointed out all. -- say how was Woodson nonstop the next game and the jets had no problems discarding of him in the middle outline so having guys won freely it quarterback is not a solution of."

Play from 10:23[10:23]" opinion yet and I didn't just again I'll back up your point is I didn't think that they had added that they had. Overload blitzes from an -- blitzing but I don't think it was you know we're sending six and you don't have enough guys the block I thought they just had guys coming from places they were expecting right -- hobson. Is allied accidentally you know he was covered in untouchable thing."

Play from 10:47[10:47]" And down you know probably shouldn't cause -- interception before the half before wasn't for that ridiculous ridiculous called even Fred Hersch was yelling about the press box at the belief that want to terrorist -- was as. They did -- about a bad call. I mean that that went in the patriots Favre. As I've ever I I can ever ever remembered only needed some. He was as upset about that college it was like these scandals past and parents guy who zhelev will PP with a -- I was really and that's about it it was like that call offended in the all it -- credit he said you know -- for what's right that you he has honestly sit there and say. I mean the -- With base that after the game was it bears and that he should have known the ball was released and stopped his mode that we can meet. He was bear what do you wanted to do indeed it's it's their responsibility I think that's the word but he uses the responsibility of the player to know when the ball is gone via. And now -- stated that it you have to be freaking cute -- he's a particular point enemies must have eyes in the back of his head to know the ball with has won the -- when he hit on the ball was deliberate hand right. So I mean that that was a terrible call and making a tackle under the assumption that -- attack on the -- ball. Yet those that was a bad call book you know defense do you mind they ended up. Come away with a win I just think of the officiating in this league is awful and has not meant to with the meaning fixed it's that -- calls every -- was one. So two game losing streak first time and close before year's travel -- green day. My question is what happens on my question is how are you getting. Two Green -- because I know this great artist today that well I know at 330 on Saturday afternoon. You have some I'll be watching what -- I don't know it's all propaganda just give me on the plane Fred's Alameda his many TV is going to work on the plane. So I'm sure at some point there about 335 you'll be here a bunch at bombs coming from the back when I can't get reception of the game. So that's that's the plan I I -- form as many -- Mario bring mine -- Fred says that you could get a picture. You know and yet like yet the change channel quite frequently because obviously. It's going to be different spot he'd be he will be different spot -- state you but I'm in marketing agreement we resolve that now we should catch most of the second half you know that everything goes well. Because you know -- have all the hoopla for the game in everything they'll probably start ten minutes later normally dozen. All of us you know quite catch after the third them. Or why can't they just play this game for us you know I was in shock I thought for sure the whole point of the 8 o'clock game at the get in it's weird businesses changes as the season has gone. The whole point of the 8 o'clock game the first was to have the best game -- Ohio State taxes. -- now they have of the Florida State Miami even know yeah now that's joke that was time that was marquee team -- now as the year goes on -- they were they just -- my -- o'clock in the all their best games -- at 330 they got kind of I'm lucky this week -- advocates -- USC -- USC which is a good game but unfortunately lost its luster. So Leo so we got that game we I mean what happens -- the patriots lose on Sunday ball as it is a widespread panic around here. I think it is -- if they -- on Sunday. -- yeah well ironically with the -- coveted the most of the Packers the Packers. They do state. But there's one thing they can do -- throw the football the Packers -- not a good team and I agree with you and they showed it last week against that in Minnesota in the patriots you know we've given so much credit the Packers made them look silly to you know -- five -- what 37. And Donald driver cut close to a friend our fastest growth. So date of the Packers have some talent some individual talent but that's not a very good team and I should point out in the previous that you wrote defensively is real bad the other bed at that the patriots -- all the ball -- team in trouble. Well they ranked 32 goal of the Minnesota gave no any good -- at 240 -- any good at all against the run today forced teams to throw. And it is too low -- go to last week I believe they were tenth against the row on the 32 against the pass to you know how might how often you know have have teams decided you know kind of like -- out. Likely is going to throw one. All you know I don't know I know older I know a hawk I Deion Sanders said AJ hawk had a good year. So -- and I've I we heard and the NFL network saw it one of the linebackers I've never heard of the bowl safety's stake. On the quarterbacks recorders are pretty good and they they have one they had 27 -- owner of the Minnesota games with a put pressure on the quarterback that's what makes the 11 who presided -- time goes by you know obvious I'm I'm a little concerned with the with the patriot I wasn't overly concerned about the Indianapolis game I am a little concerned after the jets game. But now the more you know time's going by -- Green Bay green -- one a couple of games it not feel good about themselves. The NFC's week of -- not out of playoff race right or five. You know they get to 55 they probably -- ideologue needs while all the while working for five and four right now though more moderate for the time was my time -- more concern I'm getting you to tell me they have a lot of sacks in the office supplies had -- it has is angle and millions of sex. The I'm fitness but I should say that the pass defense one of the things and it would be ranked low anyway but one of the things that kind of skews their -- little bit is that the game were Harrington. At the 500 yards or whatever debris through and and the Packers -- yes so that kind of frozen out of whack a little bit he threw the ball 60 some kind listen. So that actually had a low percentage that an act and the -- the most often writes though -- group of 400 and change them but you know al Harrison Charles Woodson. Mean those pretty good cornerbacks I know I know what's not has does he used to be not what he wants was by. Well they're not going up is the best receivers in the world leader that's my point that's my point and -- if you have you had a safeties on all that could wildest now this team so far through nine games hasn't demonstrated the ability to get deep right. You know so. Weeks if he play that might help -- not help -- it's not going to hurt my at least I think Dick he's going to be is can a force far but it making mistakes as the last couple weeks you know he's played pretty well. He's he doesn't throw a lot of interceptions obviously we know if you can get in you'll throw balls -- the coverage -- that's what you're looking for with the -- it to him early in the year. I looked at again where's the patriots pass rush they don't touch quarterbacks so I used to look at it adds an."

Play from 18:05[18:05]" All the time Tom -- that the pats heyday used to say all things being equal was well reported net man. Turnovers you know if you don't turn the ball over you don't you have a big you know big kickoff return for a -- something all things being equal the patriots will win and that's what I would say virtually against anybody. But now look at him is like geez if they don't cost turn over two. I'm not sure you know if they pray tell us that night that the patriots are going to bounce back I think it's still a pretty good football team that it they'll be a should will beat the -- by. I am concerned about some of the stuff that I'm seeing and hearing and we'll probably probably get into the the stuff that we hearing a little bit but this jets game as we move forward by. Richard Seymour -- a bottle out played out coached I thought this was mortgaged and -- talked about this before we go on the air. Mike were able talking about how they didn't run enough inside wooden and Troy brown talking about how the -- in public key stop when they needed. So that's it defensive guy talking about the offense an offensive guy talking about the defects that it's not a good sign. No it's not that doesn't happen around you never has not happened and they had plenty of opportunities in the past were to happen last year especially early in the Hillary autorads scoring 30 points every game. And still -- game winning field goals and sometimes falling short altogether. They never turned on each other and I'm not and at that turning on each other now they may have just been kind of innocuous comments but I thought it was just an -- deeper into guys talking about the off Manson an -- guys talking about the deep which usually when you ask -- defensive guy they say you know. We lost 103 we -- hold on to less than you know we got to force internal as we gotta give the offering short fields in may set some of those things but they're also talking about things the -- didn't do it that's interest and to me."

Play from 19:51[19:51]" And the whole thing about I don't know if you felt this way but just watch in the game might have to -- like early on this public opinion wants to be on the field. -- just I don't see any emotion now a lot of I don't see anything from -- jets were jumping around when they made a play you know issues they were all they were team that felt like that they they really wanted this game. The patriots he went 13 to feel like wolf we show up with his win -- kinda like the fans feel about them."

Play from 20:21[20:21]" That's exactly how it looked like Johnson had a -- outside you know we we rarely talk about. Bill belichick and negative light and and the way he goes about his business in formulating game plans and one not but. This whole thing with -- mean -- I think it was totally unnecessary distraction yeah yeah -- himself and I don't mean it necessarily distracted his team. But I think it it it needed the jets and -- Laveranues Coles who quoted after the game saying you know you know some of the guys were talking about how he won't call Eric by name right he only calls he refers to him as the other guy. Well anytime you disrespect our coach wouldn't do just that you know. Children get a little bit more to try to you know try to get in there -- in and do we can -- to win for him now maybe that's worth absolutely nothing in the in the grand scheme of things maybe. You know -- the jets needed extra incentive. I I I -- I think a lot of that stuff is over rated but I'll tell you we've given the patriots a lot of credit. After the fact four you know the Pittsburgh Steelers saying that the united booking a hotel restorations when we know full well the patriots -- you know before -- 2001 AFC championship game and was only one week in between the conference title and its approval. We we we make these things out to be big deals when the patriots win so I'm not going to sweep them under the rug when the patriots lose you know -- on the surface when I hear that -- mean -- had his team watched this idealist -- among our Ali fight. The night before the game you know the first one when when -- quit the champ quit the race. I think that's kind of corny and those things -- kind of silly but you know what when the patriots to those thing relative opposes same thing -- technically thinking god Eric is my priority is doing everything that he learned under bill. He has been basically the ideal student right now everything he does is exactly the way build it in right now on Sunday he did it better. Right afterwards and mix well. That was funny"

Play from 22:32[22:32]" but I think you're right though. Why give the jets -- is is something that the patent on -- sad the unnecessary motivation. No once it was not and I said I've seen Bilbao attempt -- other coaches hands he's not vote -- you know he's not sit there for hours -- P and you know pat me on the head. But just walk up give the guy handshake and walked away easy you know at the happy and think it doesn't have to."

Play from 22:58[22:58]" Always mascot for any time or anything like that but this is I think you know. Gary you agree with this and I don't normally desperate nine nonsense but don't you think that I helped create it right but don't think this is an unnecessary. Added incentive that he gave the jets for no reason why just they told us everything that I have heard from their players about -- your right about there is not respecting human all that they -- of the you know that was just motivation. Yeah and I just think that there was no reason for it just because the -- last. I mean I mean you act which he scorned you and you know kinda. You know. I don't know if it just seems like it's -- it was taken so much more personally. And I think you needed to be in west there's something out there that we just don't know Tom right but because on the surface it would appear to meet a -- tickets upset because he gave. And -- defensive coordinator position with a host that he would have bet that spot solidified a little bit for the for you know. The reasonable future right and then and then Eric got a job immediately and ended up leaving after one year and he -- scorn from -- that's all it is then that's ridiculous red gave me a job at PFW -- I'm going to be here but at the Boston globe calls my desk will be empty tomorrow. That's life all its interest in that you bring up -- in this in this regard because and all in all seriousness you know Fred is our boss and we joked around -- time. But he is our boss you know and and he's he's -- got to work for but I giving an example you can handle it differently when you're in charge. Last year around the time that you came Tom I also had possibilities of leaving the same time that Bryant I was up for job at the Boston herald. Now Bryan -- had decided he was -- Fred called me into his office I was the assistant editor at the time -- called me it was office instead -- beauty editor you know kind of like gone from defensive backs coach to defensive coordinator exit it's an increase in responsibility. And and whatnot in salary a lot of other things that go with it. You know first he asked me how I felt about it bubble -- block you know all the things that Normal you know. You know employer employee kind of discussions great pride I'm I'm really excited about the opportunity -- have I just want to tie it I would like it if you would I -- you stay for one. And because he knew that I'd been looking in the past periodically here and there for other jobs in and it for a daily not because I don't like -- Newspaper rather than a weekly -- school paper and he told me that he's going to need me to stay here for awhile. And I said yeah I got nothing on -- on the horizon a reasonably good you know at least a year you know give me at least a year before you looking for another job. Don't you know Tom the next day and I'm not hitting the very next day I got a call from the Boston herald sports editor to have -- in an interview for the patriots beat writers. I went into Fred and I told the whole story and he immediately said we'll forget that you gotta go this would have been waiting for race that's how he felt about it. He'd just not 24 hours earlier had a conversation with me I needed to stay for awhile we need to solidify things I can't have everybody leave at once will be in trouble with -- all new guys. Less than 24 I was out today as well there's so much this is too good of an opportunity for you personally you gotta take it I don't know kinda like getting ten million or five years might be too good of an opportunity to pass up."
